"How exactly do you plan to fix…wait, you're not going to attempt to go back in time and change the past? Or pay Troy a visit? Are you?" I nervously asked.
"Spoilers," River simply said.
"No! You're not getting away with saying that! I don't want you going and trying to do anything to Troy or the girls who bullied me."
"May I ask why not?"
"You doing that is not going to change anything and, changing the past, could very well be disastrous." River sighed.
"I agree with you on that last point. What happened to you during your time on Earth is a fixed point in time. However, we can and should stop them from doing this to anyone else."
"What do you propose doing?"
"Spoilers."
"Now you're really starting to get me nervous" I admitted. "I mean, how bad is this scheme of yours that you don't want me to know about it?"
"Sorry, Violet, but I can't tell you anymore than what I've already told you. Look, we only have a couple of minutes left together. I love you. Always remember that, even if you do choose to never see me again."
"About that, I'm really sorry for acting like such a bitch before. You can come visit whenever."
"I forgive you," she said as she pats me on the shoulder. "Now, do you remember what you need to do in order to make the jump?" I nodded.
"But you'll be stuck here and…"
"Shush! I always have a back-up plan, sweetie." I cringed at the name sweetie, but chose not to say anything. "We have 45 seconds left and counting. When I say 'go', press the red button." I moved my finger and allowed it to hover over that button. "Ok…Go!" I quickly pressed it. Almost instantaneously, I felt a tugging sensation and immediately pressed the green button. There was a flash of light, which only lasted for a few seconds. Once it faded, I saw that I was indeed aboard the TARDIS like River said I would be. I knelt on the floor and caught my breath. Everything around me was spinning.
"Whoa!" I said aloud. "Never doing that again."
"Violet," I heard a voice call out. I blinked a few times and tried to get up, but lost my balance. At that moment, I felt arms wrap around me. "Whoa! Easy there." I looked up and saw the Doctor standing there.
"Doctor?"
"The one and only" he said with a smile. "Now, let's get you to Sick Bay."
"Rivers vortex manipulator…prison…spinning…"
"Don't worry, Violet, I'll get you sorted out soon enough" he said as we reached Sick Bay. He helped me over to the cot and I lay down. The Doctor took out his sonic and proceeded to scan me with it. "Looks like a simple case of vertigo. That's easy enough to rectify," he said as he began rummaging through cabinets and draw and pulling out random objects.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm making you a Venusian Spearmint and Gingerroot concoction. It'll stop your vertigo in less than 20 seconds flat. They came up with this remedy in…"
"Um…a little less talking please. I'm starting to get nauseous here."
"Good to know. I'll add some Mandarin Orange peels to the concoction, as well." About a minute later, the Doctor brought over this thick brown goop and handed a bowl of it to me with a spoon. "Eat up!"
"Do I have to eat it all? This stuff looks absolutely repulsive."
"Just eat as much as you can." I took a spoonful and slowly brought it to my mouth.
'Better get this over with' I thought to myself. I put it in my mouth and swallowed. "Wow! This is surprisingly good." I had another spoonful and, after about four spoonfuls's, my vertigo was completely gone. I put the bowl and spoon aside.
"Better?"
"Yeah. So, how long was I gone for?"
"2 days 4 hours 17 minutes and 42 seconds."
"It was only a couple of hours for me."
"Violet, what happened? Are you ok? And where did you get yourself a Vortex Manipulator?"
"I'm fine and, as for the rest, you may want to sit down because I've got quite the story to tell."
