Here we are again folks! The next chapter.
Reviews are appreciated as they help me understand what you all ant. Don't hesitate to leave one if you have anything to saya bout the story ^^:
Transformers is owned by Hasbro/Takara, I own nothing but the human cast..most of them ^^:
"How do you lose two giant robots!?" Ed asked.
The assembled group of humans had gone to the garage once Anthony had given the news. Bee, Sari and Hound were missing. Kat and Orion were still dealing with their family and were unable to attend.
"Don't look at me, I wasn't their caretaker!" Anthony said.
"They were under your roof so..." Sophie said.
"Why don't we ask Wheeljack where they are?" Bre asked. "They probably told him something."
"I tried, but he's asleep guess." Anthony tumbled toward Wheeljack, who lay asleep in his corner of the garage.
"Waking an alien robot is harder than you think.
"Well we have to do something, I trust Hound but Bumblebee?" Sophie walked over and kicked Wheeljack.
"They probably went after their buddies on the news." Ed said.
"Without telling us...for advanced alien robots they can act like teenagers a bit." Bre scoffed.
"But you're a teen too." Sophie pointed out.
"Okay a stereotypical one." Bre shrugged. "But Ed's probably right on the whole sneaking out thing."
Sophie walked over and inspected the transmitter on the ground. Since it was taller than her, she didn't have to stoop down much.
"Anthony weren't they working on building a transmitter?"
"Yeah, I tried to help but once Wheeljack got into the really complex stuff, I was out." Anthony said.
The rest of the group looked at him in confusion and concern. Noticing these looks, Anthony crossed his arms.
"What?"
"Dude, don't you fix up cars and other appliances?" asked Ed.
"I can tune your engine, but I cannot build alien tech from the ground up."
"Right now, our biggest concern is where the heck they went." Bre walked over, lightly kicking the device.
"As long as the government isn't rolling into the yard we should be fine." Ed shrugged.
Anthony's two way radio chose that moment to go off.
"Kasey to Ant, Kasey to Ant over?" Anthony grabbed his radio and flicked the switch.
"Go ahead Kasey, what's up?"
We've got some government vehicles pulling up to the Scrapyard. They're asking to see you right now."
Anthony almost dropped his radio from shock. As his face went pale, Sophie and Bre turned toward Ed with blank looks.
"...I've got nothing..." He shrugged.
"M-Maybe we can convince them that there's nothing here?" Bre peeked out the window. Her heart sank as she spotted the government cars.
"Then again, maybe we should make tracks for Florida."
"We can't just run that's leaving all my staff to take the blame!" Anthony found his voice and turned toward his sister.
"They may not even know about the bots, they could want you for a contract." Sophie offered.
"Perhaps, but just keep quiet for now and just play dumb." Anthony said as he walked over and opened the door.
"Just act cool, and tell them nothing."
"Alright, where's the robot?" Fowler asked.
The group had been asked to go into Anthony's office. Where Agent Fowler has just dropped the question.
"Bill, I thought we agreed to work up to that." General Iott sighed.
"Robot...what do you think we are rocket scientists?" Ed asked nervously.
"Well a rocket scientist doesn't build robots so..." Bre said. Ed gave her a look. Bre giggled and shrugged.
"Look, what my sister means is that we've got no idea how to even build a robot." Anthony said.
Fowler and Iott looked at each other. They'd seen this routine before back in the mid 90's. It was rather easy to see through.
"Okay, tell us about the alien robot that you found." General Iott said. "Don't try to laugh it off we know it'll be fake."
The group all exchanged glances at each other. These guys were intent of striking down every excuse they could make.
"We've got all of the others, and we've scanned their fuel source to this junk yard." Fowler said.
"What do you mean you have the others?" Bre asked, alarmed.
The rest of the group looked at her with mixed reactions. Ed's was shock; Anthony's was bemusement, and Sophie just face palmed.
"Right...forget I said anything." Bre said.
"Look, we're not going to hurt you, or hold this against you." Fowler explained. "We know a little about the aliens, but we believe that you may know a bit more."
The group looked at each other nervously. Fowler seemed to be honest but they didn't know if it was a facade.
"If we tell you anything, can our safety and his be guaranteed?" Sophie looked Fowler right in the eye. She tried not to show the fear that was slowly building up.
"What do you think we are the standard paranoid bunch?" Fowler laughed. Everyone stared at him awkwardly for a few seconds.
"How about we not answer that." Bre said as Fowler rolled his eyes.
"Trust us, we have experience with aliens." Iott said, walking over to them. Sophie and Anthony moved in front of Bre and Ed
"If we show you him, you've got to promise that these two won't be harmed." Anthony started the General down coldly.
Fowler and Iott looked at each other then shrugged. He extended his hand toward Anthony with a smile.
"You've got yourself a deal sir."
Nervously, Anthony took and shook the hand.
The Nemesis.
The sound of pounding is what awoke Barricade. He'd been enjoying a stasis nap for a few cycles, only to be woken up by the sound of crashing metal.
"Ugh, did someone peeve off Megatron again?" He grunted and got up.
He tiredly stumbled out of his room and into the hallway. The pounding was now accompanied by crashes. Barricade snapped alert when he heard a moan echo throughout the ship.
"What in the name of Primus?" he gasped.
Quickly he ran down the halls of the ship. Were they under attack? Had Starscream finally made his move against Megatron?
If it's Starscream, I hope I didn't miss the fight.
The crashing had stopped, but there was some scraping noises coming from the bridge.
As he walked over to it, a surprising sight greeted him. Standing at attention were at least four dozen Vehicons.
"Woah, looks like Lord Megatron finally got the troops ready." He said. "We must have found the Autobots."
He reached the door to the bridge and placed his servo on the scanner. As the doors slid open, a familiar smell wafted out.
The smell of spilled energon. He looked in and his jaw plate nearly fell off.
Soundwave lay on the bridge floor, beaten down and covered in wounds. His visor was smashed, his left arm twisted in an awkward way. His chest plate was cracked and energon spilled from his wounds.
Megatron stood over Soundwave, glaring down at him evilly. Barricades optics went to the others in the room.
As usual Starscream had a smile on his face. This time, it had morphed into a gigantic grin. Wreckage stood off to the side, looking beat up as well.
"Is there something I can help you with Barricade?"
Barricade jumped as Megatron's words pierced his processor. He looked toward his leader in fear.
"I-I-I was j-just wondering what all the noise was master."
"I'm dealing with some insubordination within the ranks." Megatron delivered a swift Kick into Soundwave. Barricade winced as Soundwave moaned once more.
"This is going to be made clear to all of you." He said to no one in particular. "Anymore attempts to undermine my authority shall result in immediate termination!"
Barricade and Wreckage both jumped at Megatron's bellowing. Starscream stepped forward then bowed.
Before he could speak, Megatron whirled around and pointed his fusion cannon at Starscream.
"One word out of your mouth, and I shall disintegrate you." He growled.
Starscream gulped, and then backed down wisely. Megatron gave him a cold stare before turning away.
"Scan this planet for all energon deposits; we're going to refocus on doing what we came here for."
Barricade's optics nearly bugged out of his skull. He waited until Megatron had walked away before speaking.
"Refocus on what!?" He snapped. "We haven't done slag since we've come to this mud ball!"
"That is what happens when you challenge the wisdom of Megatron." Starscream chuckled.
"I wouldn't call beating up Soundwave "wisdom" Barricade looked around. He was nervous to speak in case Megatron was still listening in.
"What did he even do?" He asked. Soundwave was now getting to his feet. He was struggling to even pick up his own weight though.
"He found out where the Autobots were and lead myself, Wreckage, and the Vehicons in an attack."
"Did it go wrong?"
"Oh no, It was very successful, though I was wounded in the process." Starscream gestured to the blast marks on his wings and thrusters.
"My spark bleeds for you Starscream." Barricade rolled his optics.
"If it was successful, then why did Lord Megatron beat down on Soundwave?"
"Because it wasn't what he wanted." Wreckage said.
Barricade stared at the two of them with very wide optics. His Processor raced to try and find some logic in Megatron's actions. There were none to be found.
"It is a shame when one's hero falls to madness." Starscream grinned mischievously. "Perhaps when the time comes, you'll both agree that there needs to change."
"Change needs to happen, but you'll just make things worse." Wreckage poked Starscreams chest.
"Megatron may have problems; but you'll just have us constantly worshipping your ego!"
Starscream shook with rage at the remark. He moved his arm back to rip his claws into Wreckage.
As he threw his claws toward him, Wreckage grabbed his arm. He pulled Starscream forward and punched him in the face.
Starscream hit the floor and slid a ways. As he got up, Wreckage walked over and extended his blades.
"I'm not in a good mood screamer; do you really want to fight me?"
Barricade also walked over and activated his weapons.
"We're sick to slag of your talk Starscream." He said grimly. "Either get out of here and shut up, or we'll make you."
Starscream stared at the two of them. A look of disgust crossed his face. He was offering them a way out, a way to avoid further brutal punishments from Megatron.
If this was the things he was going to get; he wondered why he even bothered. Without another word, he got up and then walked out of the bridge.
He threw dark glares at them as he walked out. Despite the chills running down their spinal struts; both Barricade and Wreckage stood their ground.
Once he was gone, both breathed a sigh of relief and retracted their weapons.
"Thanks for standing with me cade." Wreckage said.
"I'm getting sick of both his, and Megatron's slag." Barricade grunted.
They both looked over at Soundwave. He had finally gotten to his feet and had seen the whole thing. He stumbled forward, almost toppling over as he moved. Both of them walked over and grabbed Soundwave.
"Easy there Soundwave." Wreckage said.
"Let's get you to the CR Chambers." Barricade suggested. All Soundwave could do was barely nod.
As they lead Soundwave out of the bridge; Barricade found himself thinking on Starscreams words.
He would find the coming days. That history would prove Starscream partially right.
The Salvage Yard.
The sound of the garage door opening was what finally woke up Wheeljack. His optics online in shock as light poured into the garage.
"Do any of you; have any idea what time it is?" He asked. As his vision became clear, he noticed two new shapes standing next to the group.
"Are Kat and Orion back already?" He asked.
"Some others we should know about?" Fowler asked the group.
That brought Wheeljack out of his drowsiness instantly. He spotted Iott and Fowler with the group. "Umm Wheeljack, we've got some folks who want to meet you..." Sophie said nervously.
Wheeljack stared at the group, and then he slowly began to back himself into the wall. His optics gave off a sense of betrayal.
"He's not like the others." Iott said. "Did this happen recently?"
"What do you mean by "others?" Wheeljack demanded.
"He says that-" Wheeljack cut Sophie off as he glared at her. "
Don't talk, you betrayed our trust." He said lowly.
An awkward silence hung in the air for a moment. Sophie was struck by Wheeljack's harsh tone. The rest of the group felt saddened as well.
Iott on the other hand walked over to Wheeljack with seemingly no care. Wheeljack moved backward, keeping his eyes trained on Iott.
"Greetings, we've come in peace." He said. "We merely wish to talk to you."
"How many times have you said that line before busting out the guns?" Asked Wheeljack cautiously.
"We mean you no harm; we just have a few questions to ask you."
Wheeljack stared at Iott as though he were crazy. He'd seen the movies involving aliens. While he doubted the ones where cities were blown up were true; this guy was hitting some of the notes he saw.
"The answer is no if they are "can we open you up like a wafer!" He snapped.
"A wafer?" Bre looked at her brother.
"They asked me what the stuff in my lunchbox was!" he said defensively.
"You're too late boys; we've already polluted them with earth culture." Bre said to Fowler. He in turn rolled his eyes.
"Look, how about we make a trade, you help us, and we help you." Iott offered.
"We've got info and possibly means of helping you become...mobile again." He said looking at Wheeljack's shattered legs.
"Did you dig up some other bots before or what?" Sophie blurted out.
Fowler and Iott exchanged glances and then looked at the group. Wheeljack crossed his arms and waited.
"Should we tell them?" Fowler asked.
"They seem to be pretty deep in the hole already." Iott said.
"Tell us what?" Ed asked anxiously.
"Back in the late 90's we did find two other...whatever race he is." Fowler gestured to Wheeljack.
"Cybertronians." Sophie corrected.
"Right, well we've already found a lot of what we believe to be their fuel, so we already made scanners to search for them."
"At first we didn't find much besides deposits of the stuff." Explained Iott. Wheeljack perked up immediately
"So that's why my scans showed only three energon deposits on this continent!" Wheeljack said.
"We've been trying to collect most of them for years." Iott said. "One's at the bottom of lake superior, the other under the Vegas strip."
"That might be my fault…" Wheeljack tapped his fingers together nervously.
"...care to explain?" Asked Sophie. Wheeljack's previous hostility seemed to be melting away now.
"Shockwave sent two Devastator drones to retrieve a failed missile. I attacked, and subdued both at the bottom of the lake."
"You mean those big monsters that we had to haul out?" Asked Fowler. It had taken them a while to find a way to disconnect the drones underwater.
They'd had some help in that regard once they found the connection joints. But it was still a lengthy process.
"Monsters may be putting it lightly but yes." Wheeljack explained.
"Hey, how about we go back to what you were originally saying." Ed called out. Iott, Fowler and the others all looked at him.
"It sounded interesting okay?"
Iott nodded, remembering why exactly they were here. He looked back toward Wheeljack to continue.
"We didn't find much...until in 1997, we found part of a crashed ship…."
It had been a cold day when EAT had finally gotten machines to the site of reading. As usual, they didn't expect anything besides another deposit.
They were terribly wrong in this case.
As they dug down into the ground, they hit something metallic. They called down Fowler and Iott while they dug.
By the time they had reached the troops, they had already gotten into the remains of what appeared to be an alien craft. Within were two large metallic bodies.
When one of the men climbed atop the larger of the two bodies, it re activated. The robot flipped out initially, dazed, confused and stunned.
It managed to break its way from the wreck and into the sunlight. Its language was indecipherable at first.
The robot attempted to flee, but only ended up collapsing due to loss of energy... In what they assumed was a last ditch effort, it scanned one of their trucks.
When all was said and done, the robot managed to escape about a mile before it finally powered down again.
They rounded up the other robot and hauled the truck bot back to base. Once there, they managed to load it with some fuel.
Once that was done, came the time for questions and answers. The robot didn't say much, nor did it leave its new form.
EAT taught it some basics of human language. This helped a little, and they got some information out of it. After a week though, it shut down and hasn't started back up again.
Iott held up a picture of all to see. It showed a sliver and blue 1997 peterbilt, rusted with age. It was in an underground bunker with several machines hooked up to it.
"It told us about the Autobots, and it mentioned some names." Iott explained.
"The main thing it kept asking was if his crew was okay." He shrugged and gave a small smile. "I think we can finally him that they're all okay."
"Relatively speaking." Wheeljack looked down at his legs.
"Did the "truck give you his own name?" Asked Anthony.
Iott gave an affirming nod and then looked up. It had been a long time so it was a little fuzzy. It didn't take long for it to click.
"Yes he did."
"He said his name was Optimus Prime."
Woo..yeah bit of a short chapter today folks ^^: TBH I'm feeling a little burned out by Lifeline ATM. So this whole things going on break for a little bit. Don't worry, it shouldn't be too long.
Anyway, hopefully this didn't feel too rushed, zas next chapter the entire cast shall reunite! In more ways then one ;)
