A/N - My apologies to infinity and beyond for such a long delay. Not going to insult anyone's intelligence with excuses.

I have set a goal to complete this Bamon story.

In chapter 6 I made Elijah Klaus' son and can't for the life of me remember why? Anyhoo, they are back to being siblings from here on out. I'm using canon and twisting its timelines to suit my needs and purposes for the story.

I may have messed with the prospect of Caroline and Stefan, but you can rest assure Caroline saw the light and I'm not going there.

I'm still using Rose and you'll learn why soon enough.

Bamon are going to have another vision that just might stay the enemy's hand?

Thank you for your patience. Happy reading.

The story thus far…..

Bamon shared a vision of being together and having a family in the future. Bonnie tried to resist Damon, but the happiness and love she felt in the vision encourages her to take a chance on him and fight for that bright future of theirs.

Caroline realizes there can never be, a her and Stefan as a couple. She knows he still loves Elena and so keeps her distance from him. Where is this going to lead her?

Rose arrives on Christmas Eve to inform them that The Original, Klaus Mikaelson, is coming to Mystic Falls to break the curse his mother put on him locking away his true wolf. Elijah Mikaelson is staging a coup against Klaus here in Mystic Falls when the ritual is to take place. She wants their help in this fight against Klaus.

Chapter 7

The minute Rose was out the door. Damon, Bonnie, Stefan and Caroline forgot all about Christmas for the moment.

"I'm going over to Elena's and explain the situation. We don't know how long we have before Klaus gets here? He probably already sent his goons to keep an eye on her." Stefan was already out the door before Damon's words stopped him.

"Watch out for Katherine little brother. Elena shoved the cure down her throat so I'm sure she's still lurking about to get some kind of payback. We can only hope that maybe Klaus is as diabolical as they say and he has her already? Stefan agreed wholeheartedly.

"Don't wait up for me and Merry Christmas family."

"I think I better go warn my Mom of the chaos that's coming. Matt's working I'm going to stop by there too and maybe convince him to close up early?" Caroline watched as Damon and Bonnie stood next to each other lost in their own little world. They all came a long way from the beginning. She loved Bonnie more than anything and if Damon made her happy she was going to be the supportive bff.

"Be careful out there Caroline. If Klaus has his minions searching for Katherine and watching Elena he's watching all of us." The girls hugged each other a little tighter knowing their concerns silently mirrored the others.

"You too be careful too. Lock up after I leave. Love ya, bye." Damon watched the two bffs and was grateful they were so forgiving. He'd been the biggest ass when he came back home and treated them less than gentlemanly. Second chances were a kindness and Damon only hoped he would continue to earn that chance they gave him.

"Are you hungry? Drink?" Bonnie nodded no and made herself comfortable on the couch.

"Keep my place warm for a minute Bon. I better go check the locks like Blondie advised." Damon vamp sped out the room and was back in seconds. He sat down in his corner and welcomed Bonnie with open arms. She settled against him, her back to his front and held his hands in hers.

"Tell me why we're getting involved in this original business again?"

"This is our home Damon. Our future is right here we can't let anyone take that away. Besides, my best friend, your brother's love of his life, is also in danger."

"Alright, alright you've convinced me. You're not mad at me for wishing Klaus finds Katherine and uses her in the ritual?" Damon held her a little tighter.

"I can't be mad at you when I agree with you. I have no doubt she would throw anyone of us to Klaus if it would save her ass. So I don't feel bad at all."

"You're absolutely right. I'm going to track down Rose tomorrow and get some more information. I understand Elijah wants to take down his brother during the ritual, but where does that leave us if Klaus doesn't have Katherine and takes Elena?" Bonnie turned around and cupped his face in her hands.

"We will get answers, tomorrow, like you said. Right now I want you to take me to bed and just hold me until I fall asleep in your arms, please?" They both stood up and Damon lifted her, one arm behind her back and the other under her knees.

"Whatever you want Bon, whatever you need."

Caroline drove as fast as she could in the falling snow. She eventually made it to the station and after handing out some bags of chocolate chip cookies to everyone on duty she found her Mom in her office.

"Surprise mommy." Liz smiled at her daughter and saw she saved her some of those delicious cookies.

"Hey sweetie. What are you doing out in this weather? Not that I'm not happy to see you and those cookies." Liz snatched a couple and sat back down at her desk waiting for Caroline to answer. Caroline closed her mom's office door and that was a sure sign that something was going on to Liz.

"I was at the boarding house and we got a visit from a vampire named Rose. She works with the original vampires who are a thousand year's old. She came to warn us that the two remaining brothers are fighting and their battle is going to end here in Mystic Falls." Liz just shook her head. All these supernatural occurrences were making her head spin.

"I don't like that you are out and about on your own Caroline. Go straight home from here ok." Caroline agreed although she was still going to stop off at The Grill to see Matt.

"You keep your eye on strangers waltzing in here mommy, ok? Love ya and I'll text you when I get home. See ya later." Caroline rounded the desk to hug her mom and made her way out. The snow was really falling now, but she made it to The Grill and was greeted by Matt and an empty room.

"Oh goodie I don't have to convince you to close up early. You have no customers no convincing needed." She joked and Matt couldn't help, but laugh with her.

"I already locked up the back, made sure there was no body in the bathrooms when you barged in here with your great idea." Matt grabbed his jacket and followed Caroline to the front door.

The ambush happened so fast. The other vampires were on Caroline in seconds, but she prevailed with barely enough time to grab Matt's jacket and yanked him with her as she vamped away. She got him to The Lockwood Mansion and for a minute there she thought she was good. Matt turned around and made to reach for her, but Caroline pushed him inside and slammed the door shut.

"Stay inside Matt. They can't come in after you." Caroline pulled the first stake out of her shoulder and it hurt like a bitch. The ones in her thigh and shin eased the pains just a tad. She slowly turned around and there her assailants were vamped out and ready to pounce.

"Tough guys aren't ya taking on little ole me." Caroline tried to buy herself and Matt some time. She knew he wasn't just going to leave her out there to fend for herself and she was right.

"Death from above assholes." Caroline waited until the last minute to vamp backward and open the door to get inside. The door was left wide open and she could see the artificial-sun grenades go off rendering the vampires blind and burning. Than a rally of artificial-sun bullets riddling their bodies. The only sound that could be heard was the screams of pain as they died from the inside out. Matt ran downstairs and helped Caroline stand. They both moved out of the line of sight to opposite sides and Caroline kicked the door closed.

He came out of the darkness never taking his attention away from the scene. He hadn't bene impressed with the report on Caroline Forbes nor Matt Donovan, but tonight the baby vamp and human impressed the hell out of him and that never happened in any lifetime he lived.

The Salvatore Boarding House…..

They were asleep, but not. They walked hand in hand down a lively street where a parade of people in bright colored costumes danced in celebration. They stopped at their destination and even here was a crowd, but of super naturals. They let in with no trouble and the others motioned for them to climb the stairs and they did. They both noticed the compound was old, but modern. Huge, but accommodating. The upstairs was not without its beauty as well. They moved onward, following the voices to a bright room filled with the sun's warmth.

Bonnie held Damon's hand tighter and he looked over at her. She didn't reciprocate. She just couldn't. Her full attention was on her best friend, Caroline. sitting in a bed fit for a Queen, holding a baby. If that wasn't enough to make her jaw drop, the huge golden haired wolf approaching mother and child transforming back into his human form would've.

Neither Damon nor Bonnie recognized the man in this vision. They slumbered on, content in knowing that Caroline deserved that bright future too.
