Chapter 15: Yo Mama
It's dark when I get home. Every light in my house is off. Every car is there. The door is locked. There is no evidence that there are guests. They definatley forgot about me.
I park my car and grab the spare key from under the mat. As I trudge slowly up the stairs I hear a whisper. Then another. And one more. They're all coming from Caleb's room. I quietly open the door to his room just to investigate.
Caleb is asleep in his bed and someone is sitting next to him. They're whispering quietly. I glide silently over to them. Then I remember who Caleb's company was earlier. It's too late to turn back.
My foot lands on a creaky floorboard and he turns around. He stands up and walks over to me. I turn and leave to the room and he silently follows.
Next thing I know I'm standing in the woods with Four right behind me. We sit on a rock and he reaches for my hand. I quickly pull away from his extended hand. I not going to make any decisions I'll regret later. (AN: Ha! I bet everyone thought this was going to be some major fluffy moment between the two! Nope! Oz's was enough fluffy stuff in the middle of the woods at night for me!)
We're silent. We're always silent. Why is that? Probably because there's nothing really to talk about. I want to change that.
"I fell in a lake today." I say. Four chuckles a little.
"Oh really?" he asks, "Is that what you've been doing all this time?"
"No," I smirk and Four looks generally amused, "I've been eating dinner with the Wesleys."
"The Wesley? Was Molly Wesley there?" Four says. He looks close to cracking up.
"Actually, yeah. Along with Arty Wesley and their seven children." Four and I start laughing hysterically. We lean on each other to prevent falling over. I think this is the first time I've seen Four have a full out laughing fit. I like it.
"So, you fell in a lake and then ate dinner with Molly Wesley and her family?" Four asks, tears of mirth shining in his eyes.
"Actually I fell in, was rescued by Austin Wesley, woke up in the Wesley's house, was tended to by Molly, and then ate dinner and met everyone. It was quite an eventful night for me. Oh, and the twins flirted with me." Four laughs again.
"Unfortunately your brother isn't nearly as interesting as the Wesleys, so all we did was play stupid video games and eat pizza." Four says.
"Sounds pretty good to me." I state.
Everything quiets down for a little.
"Yo mama's so fat that she eats wheat thicks." I say trying to break the silence. Four looks at me in an intimidating way.
"Challenge accepted. Yo mama's so fat her blood type is ragu."
"Yo mama's so fat even Dora couldn't explore her!" I shout.
"Yo mama's so fat that when she went scuba diving all the whales were singing 'We are family! Even though you're fatter than me!'"
"Yo mama's so fat her patronus is a cake!"
"Yo mama's so fat it took me three busses and a train ride to get on her good side!"
"Yo mama's so dumb she threw a rock at the ground and missed!" I say. Four and I crack up.
"I think you beat me," he says.
"Of course I did."
"Wow, you're so humble."
"I know."
We sit and laugh at each other's jokes until the sun comes up. Only then do we head back to my house.
Hi! I almost threw up three times yesterday! How was your day?! Hopefully good!
I ran a mile (which is a lot for me) and almost threw up yesterday. Then I ate some really good cookies and- this sounds really empty to me. This did all happen though. It wasn't fun.
Anyways, what's up? That's not the question the day but feel free to tell me anyways because I would like to know.
Sorry for this short and crappy chapter, I think it might set me up for something. Or it might not. I don't know. I don't understand my writing method. I wrote this in 21 minutes though. That's good, right? No? I thought so.
QOTD: What's the longest distance you've run?
My answer: A mile.
