~Card Capital~
A single ray of sun streaked into Card Capital as the sun started its ascent from the East. A lone boy was eagerly pacing outside the sliding glass doors, awaiting their opening. A shadow appeared in front of the boy, making him turn around. Shin was pretty startled to see Naoki here so early.
"What are doing here so early, Naoki? And could you let me open up shop?" Shin smiled as Naoki took a step back.
"Well, the new expansion boosters are coming in today right?" Naoki's eye gleamed with excitement as he stood there grinning.
"Yes, but not until later in the day. The distribution service takes time to get here." Shin explained as he stepped into Card Capital.
"Y-you mean I came here so early for nothing?!" Naoki gasped as he followed behind Shin.
"No! You can help me around the store until Misaki arrives!" Shin smiled as he started unfolding playing tables.
"What? Why should I?" Naoki asked as he stood there, puzzled.
"I'll give you first pick when the expansion boosters arrive and five packs on the house!" Shin offered as he disappeared into the store room to get another table.
"F-five packs?!" Naoki asked again, in a state of shock.
"Five packs too little? Well, I guess I could give you ten packs if you want." Shin shrugged as he set up the second playing table.
"W-whoa… R-really?" Naoki stood slack-jawed as Shin grabbed yet another table from the store room.
"Yeah sure! C'mon and gimme a hand then!" Shin laughed as Naoki dashed into the store room and grabbed another table.
~Some time later~
"Well, the tables and chairs for the playing areas are all set and Misaki's starting the counter, why don't you sit around and till the expansion boosters arrive?" Shin suggested as he disappeared to the back to sort some stuff.
"Erm, Misaki, when will the expansions be arriving?" Naoki asked as he fidgeted in his chair.
"I don't know. Maybe at noon? That's when most of the deliveries arrive." Misaki said, checking previous delivery schedules.
"N-noon?!" Naoki sank in his seat as he sulked silently.
Thats another two hours at least! Naoki whinnied mentally as he fiddled with his deck, planning some possible changes he could make with his soon-to-be new cards.
~An hour later~
"Hey Misaki!" A voice echoed from the entrance, waking Naoki from his slumber.
Oh hi Aichi!" Misaki greeted as the two of them chatted a little at the counter.
They're awfully friendly towards each other… Naoki thought to himself as decided to challenge Aichi after they were done to pass time.
~After the cardfight~
"Great play Naoki! You nearly got me there at the end!" Aichi congratulated as Naoki dropped to his knees on the ground.
"Noooooooooooooo!" Naoki hollered as he bent over into a 'kowtow' position, exaggerating his disappointment.
"Hey, are you okay Naoki?" Aichi squatted beside Naoki, patting him on the shoulder.
"NEVER BETTER! That was so fun!" Naoki suddenly burst out grinning from ear to ear.
"Expansion booster delivery?" A gruff voice came from the entrance.
"Oh, yeah just leave here." Misaki gestured to the side of the counter.
"I'll need your signature here." The delivery guys presented a clipboard to Misaki.
"There, thanks!" Misaki signed and returned the clipboard.
"Can I get my boosters now?" Naoki asked excitedly.
"Just lemme get them on the shelves." Misaki grunted as she lifted a few boxes.
Aichi went over and helped Misaki. Naoki stood there, unsure of whether to help them and interrupt them or to stand aside and let them finish. Well, the sooner that''s done, the sooner I can get my packs! Naoki concluded and went over to help.
~Five minutes later~
"Thanks Aichi, Naoki." Misaki smiled as she opened up the first box.
Naoki picked out twenty packs in one go.
"I thought Shin agreed to give you ten?" Misaki cocked an eyebrow at Naoki.
"Yeah, and I'm buying the other ten!" Naoki smiled as he pawed the money over to Misaki before leaving the store in a rush.
"Y-your change…" Misaki called out to him, but Naoki had already ran off too far to hear her.
"You could just give it to him next time he comes back." Aichi pointed out and Misaki nodded.
~Fukuhara High School~
"Another good game Suiko." Ren commented after Suiko beat the twenty-first student to challenge her.
"I think I'm gonna call it day. Can I go Captain?" Suiko smiled sweetly as Asaka fumed silently in the corner.
"Yeah sure!" I think we can all call it a day, right Asaka?" Ren asked nonchalantly.
"I think I'll train a little more Ren!" Asaka beamed, trying to impress Ren with her 'dedication'.
"Suit yourself. Just don't forget to take a break once in while alright?" Ren said nonchalantly.
"Alright bye guys!" Suiko left and Ren followed shortly after.
Grr… Why can't Suiko just let me have Ren? She already has Naoki or whatshisnameis doesn't she? Asaka fumed silently as she started her next match. Unable to concentrate and focus on the game, she lost and got even more agitated.
~Card Capital, After Naoki went home to modify his deck and came back~
"Alright! My deck's been improved and I'm ready to Cardfight!" Naoki announced as he stepped into the store.
"Shut it Porcupine Head!" Shingo hissed as he turned his attention back to the ongoing cardfight.
"Wha?" Naoki stood there in stunned silence as he looked at the two cardfighters playing.
Rekka and Suiko. That's why Shingo is so excited! Two totally awesome cardfighters are playing! Naoki thought to himself, completely oblivious to Shingo's affection for Rekka.
"I ride Chief Nurse, Shamsiel! Activating her limit break, I put a card from my hand into my damage and take a damage from my damage zone and put it into my hand! Chief Nurse, Shamsiel, Million Ray Pegasus and both Thousand Ray Pegasus all get a +2000 to their power!" Suiko played her trump card and grinned at Rekka.
"Aw c'mon! Again Sis?" Rekka groaned as she checked her last damage, a 'Critical' trigger.
"That's three in a row Shingo. You seen Rekka get beaten enough?" Suiko scoffed at Shingo as he cried dramatically sadly once again over Rekka's loss.
"Cheer up Shingo! It's just three games!" Naoki comforted Shingo, only to have Shingo cry even harder.
"Oh hi Naoki! Suiko smiled sweetly at the boy as he smiled back.
"Mind if I challenge you next Suiko?" Naoki asked as he set his deck on the table.
"Hey Naoki, your change from earlier." Misaki walked up to Naoki with some coins.
"Oh, thanks! I guess I was in too much of a rush just now huh?" Naoki scratched his head and took the money.
Yeah, you were. And start the cardfight already!" Aichi smiled as he anticipated the cardfight.
"Okay." Naoki and Suiko said in unison as they both place down their cards.
"Stand up, my, avatar!" "Stand up, my, vanguard!" Naoki and Suiko proclaimed and started the cardfight.
~After Naoki lost 5 times~
"Maybe my deck isn't as good as I thought it was." Naoki sulked.
"Your deck is good Naoki, but mine's better!" Suiko smiled as she sat beside.
"I guess I just wasn't meant to cardfight huh?" Naoki said dejectedly as he placed his cards beside him.
"No way dude! You just need some more time to get to Suiko's level!" Aichi chipped in to cheer Naoki up.
"Plus you were so close to beating Suiko all five times too!" Misaki comforted as well.
"Yeah! Plus, I also modified my deck as well. So you were great just now!" Suiko patted Naoki on the shoulder.
"Thanks guys, but I think I need to think about whether cardfighting is still my thing." Naoki grumbled as he got up and left Card Capital.
"I'll go after him." Suiko said as she followed Naoki out the store.
~Along the road~
"Mind if I walk with you?" Suiko asked Naoki when she caught up to him.
"Not really I guess." Naoki said as he trudged on.
"Hey cheer up Naoki. You really are a good cardfighter! But cardfighting isn't all about how good your cards are or how skillful you are." Suiko explained
"N-no? Then what else is there?" Naoki stopped in his tracks and turned to Suiko.
"You also have to be very passionate, which you are, and sometimes, luck plays a very big role too!" Suiko smiled warmly as Naoki digested all this.
"So I'm unlucky then?" Naoki asked.
"Yeah, you kinda were just now." Suiko kept smiling she took Naoki's hand.
"Erm… W-where are we going?" Naoki stuttered as Suiko pulled him along.
"To the park!" Suiko replied cheerily as the duo walked to the park.
"W-why?" Naoki stumbled as Suiko slowed her pace down.
"So you can relax a little!" Suiko smiled as she let go of Naoki's hand and strolled slowly.
"Oh okay…" Naoki kept pace with SUiko as they walked in silence to the park.
~After ice creams and drinks~
"Thanks for bringing me here Suiko!" Naoki grinned widely as he sat down on the grass.
"It's no biggie! Glad to see you're feeling better!" Suiko smiled and sat beside him.
"That's a really nice sun set." Naoki sighed as he gazed into the horizon.
"Yeah, it is isn't it." Suiko said softly as she slid her fingers between Naoki's fingers.
Naoki wasn't sure what to do, but he just sat there.
~After the sun set~
"Well, it's getting late. I think we'd better get back." Suiko said as she finally withdrew her hand and got up.
"Yeah, I guess." Naoki blushed lightly as he got up.
Just then, a dog jumped out from no where.
"Suiko, watch out!" Naoki dived at her, knocking both of them down to the ground.
"Woah, are you guys okay?" A boy emerged from somewhere, asked.
"Yeah." Suiko said as Naoki slowly got off of her.
"I'm sorry about my dog." The boy apologised and left.
"Thanks Naoki." Suiko blushed lightly as she dusted herself off.
"Eh, yeah. No sweat it." Naoki scratched his head as he turned his blushing face away.
"No, really. Thanks!" Suiko bent down and kissed Naoki on the cheeks.
"Ah…" Naoki stood there blushing even harder and smiled sheepishly.
"Why are you so dazed?" Suiko teased as Naoki shook himself 'sober'.
"Eh well… Erm…" Naoki stuttered and choked on his words as he was unsure of what to say.
"You've… Never been kissed by a girl before?" Suiko gasped dramatically, bringing both hands up to her cheeks.
"Eh, yeah…" Naoki admitted sheepishly.
"Well, I think you deserve one more kiss!" Suiko exclaimed and kissed him on the cheek, but missed.
"Ah!" Naoki stumbled backwards as soon as he felt the kiss.
"What's wrong Naoki? You didn't want to be kissed on the lips?" Suiko asked innocently.
"N-no, I just wasn't expecting that…" Naoki regained his composure and scratched his head.
"Well, since you're expecting it now, are you gonna back down again?"
Naoki shook his head lightly and Suiko crashed her lips against his. Naoki instinctively stroked some hair behind Suiko's ear and held her face. As they slowly broke apart, the moonlight further illuminating their bright red cheeks.
"Erm, what does that mean Suiko?" Naoki asked softly as he looked at his shoes nervously.
"Wh- what do you mean?" Suiko stuttered from the unexpected question.
"W-well, you kissed me three times… Do you… Do you like me?" Naoki asked, voice getting softer and softer towards the end.
"What was that Naoki?" Suiko could barely make out what Naoki just said.
"Erm… D-do y-you l-like me?" Naoki stuttered uncontrollably as he started cowering a little.
"I… Er…" Suiko was taken aback by Naoki's sudden 'clarity of the situation'.
"Because… I l-like y-you t-too…" Naoki continued his uncontrollable stuttering.
"You do?" Suiko was beyond words now as she stared lovingly at the boy whom she fell in love with after their first battle.
"Y-yeah." Naoki's uncontrollable stuttering continued.
Suiko wrapped her arms around the boy as she smothered him within her arms.
"I like you too Naoki. But I was afraid you would be spooked if I told you. I didn't know if you were 'into' older girls." Suiko poured her feelings out.
"I'm not really 'into' older girls. Just you." Naoki clarified as-a-matter-of-factly.
Suiko, who thought he was also expressing his feelings, hugged him him even tighter at his flattering words.
"Suiko, it's getting hard to breathe!" Naoki gasped as Suiko reluctantly relinquished her grasp.
"Sorry Naoki." Suiko smiled sweetly at him as he took a few deep breaths.
"I think we'd better go home now. It's really late already. Can I walk you home?" Naoki asked, the way he saw the male characters in shows do, and stuck out his hand.
"Yeah, sure." Suiko took his hand and the couple walked off into the night.
A/N 2: And that's my bonus oneshot! I'll be continuing with the Fic unless you guys want another oneshot for another couple (I don't wanna give too much away xP). Anyway hope you liked this chapter. Might be a little longer than my usual ones but hey, it's a oneshot. it should be longer! XD I think I'm just gonna call the little chit-chat session CFVG Get Together from now on. Seems more appropriate. XD And on to CFVG Get Together!
CFVG Get Together:
Aichi: That was erm… Interesting…
Naoki: Yeah, I don't believe Suiko likes me too!
Aichi: Gah! When did you get here?
Suiko: We just arrived!
Aichi: Ah! Stop startling me like that. Whew.
Suiko and Naoki: Oops, sorry.
Aichi: Okay, that's creepily weird.
Misaki: Why?
Aichi: It just kinda is!
Kai: Great. Just great. You just got to make me make an appearance huh?
Me: Well, I got a partner in mind for you too. So yeah, you need to get more involved.
Kai: You have got to be joking.
Me: Nope. Not at all. But I'll let the readers decide if you should get paired up in the end.
Kai: No. Please.
Aichi: Why not? Look at Suiko and Naoki!
Kai: Exactly why not. Don't. Just don't pair me up please.
Kourin: What's going on here? What did I miss?
Kai: Nothing.
Aichi: Yeah nothing much.
Misaki: Mmhmm.
Kourin: Then why is my sister and Naoki acting so lovey-dovey together?
Me: That's nothing!
Kourin: Oh and you, why am I not with Aichi again?
Me: And that's my cue! Bye guys!
