Chapter 12
The lesson today is unbearably long. Well, it's the same amount of time as the rest of the classes have been but it feels extremely long. Maybe it's because I have no clue what the teacher is talking about. Or maybe it has to do with the very attractive guy sitting next to me. That's sounds so weird coming from my own mouth. Or, um, head, I guess.
I gaze at Tobias. He really looks like Four. I think back to the conversation I was having with Marlene. "Or you could fall in love with someone and then they get a different identity and you don't know it's them. That'd be interesting." Wait...
Tobias looks like Four. Oz wants me to stay away from him. He's two years older than me. His best friend is Zeke. Oh my god.
I think Tobias is Fours twin.
Oz POV:
I see Tris suddenly sit up very straight and wave to me form the corner of my eye. I'm just going to ignore her. Ignoring her. I definitely don't see her gesture wildly to Tobias. I do not start laughing hysterically when Tobias notices this and gives her a strange look. It only makes it funnier that Tris' eyes widen to the size of saucers.
Okay, so maybe I suck at ignoring people. Especially when something hilariously cringe worthy happens to them. Almost the whole class turns and stares at me. I bet they think I'm crazy. No, wait, they definitely think I'm crazy. The only people who don't stare at me are the geniuses and the teacher. It seems like they think if they just ignore me I'll shut up. Ha, they wish.
I laugh until Zeke
clamps a hand over my mouth. I then bite said hand.
"Ow!" Zeke screams. The teacher finally realizes that his method isn't working and gives Christina a harsh look. Zeke then does the same to me with a bonus of a few colorful words. I blow a kiss at him.
The teacher assigns us some project with a partner. I only know this because Tris sprints over to me leaving a crestfallen Tobias. Ha. Loser. She drags in a direction that leaves us with a good amount of space between both Tobias and Zeke.
Tris then stops abruptly at two empty desks near a piano. She then sit down into her seat and gives me a look that suggests I do the same.
"Oz, I think I know why you tried to keep me away from Tobias." Finally! It took her long enough!
"Is that so? Please, enlighten me." I respond in a voice that I can only describe as an old timey british accent. Male, of course. It suits my deeper voice better. (AN: Yes, I do have a pretty deep voice. Well, for someone of the female gender at least.)
"I think Tobias is Four's twin." So close! Just take away seven characters and she's correct! This is maddening!
I open my mouth to correct her and then realize I can't. As if in a movie I meet Zekes eyes from across the room and remember the promise I made. The promise that has caused so many problems. The promise I would so much prefer broken. But a promise is a promise, and I do not break promises. I lie through my teeth instead.
"How did you figure it out?" I ask, as if shocked by her knowledge. I know how to lie by now with all the candy I've snuck into my room. My mom isn't what I would call gullible.
"Well, Marlene and I talked about falling in love and then that person changes their identity, Four looks just like Tobias, Tobias is two years older than me, and you were trying to separate us." Tris explains. Again, she was soo close. I wish I could tell her.
I feel the promise blocking certain sentences from leaving every time I open my mouth. I also feel it crushing me, like it's breaking my bones. It's suffocating me. I need air. My vision starts to blur. Great, this is perfect timing. Suddenly everything goes black. Yep, my thoughts are gone in three, two, on-
Page Break
I open my eyes to a blinding light. I hiss in agony. Yes, light is my weakness. I passed out because I was randomly turned a vampire. Surprise! I shall suck your blood! No, just kidding. Plus I'd rather be a werewolf.
I've never understood though why they make the light so bright in the nurses office. It's always the brightest room in the building. Why don't they make they make the gym the brightest? It's sure be useful to see the ball I'm throwing!
I open my eyes for a second time and see greying bluish staring down at mine. I sit up, bumping our heads.
"Ow!"
"That's why you don't stick your face really close to me." I say in a "serves you right" tone. Tris gives me a mini glare before holding out her pinky. I raise an eyebrow.
"Oz, can you promise that you'll always, from now on, be completely honest to me?" Tris asks. I extend my pinky and shake hers.
"Yes, I can." Great, another promise. And this one has to do with honesty.
"Now, please, is Four really Tobias' twin?"
I'm trapped. It's as if the two promises have backed me into a corner. I see two options, and right now there is no way I can run from this. Well, physically run. I can always mentally run.
Yep, my thoughts are gone in three, two, on-
I think that was my favorite chapter yet.
Anyways, (can't break the tradition, now can I?) I saw the Taney game yesterday. Well, I've been watching all the games but that one I actually went to the stadium in Westport. It was so cool! We were sat on a hill and we kept almost falling down the hill. I'm sad that Taney's out of the running now but, come on! They've already broken so many records. I'm so proud of my home city, Philly.
I was also almost on the Today show. I was cut off though. They showed a clip of my friend talking but no me. It was sort of sad and sort of hilarious. The game was just all around awesome.
I decided to update because I'm back from vacation but I'm going away again tomorrow. I know I said it was my last vacation of Summer 2014 but then my friend invited me to the beach for her birthday because her family has a beach house. So...
I had a nice birthday where I got an iTunes gift rad for fifty bucks. As of now I only have 11 something dollars left on it. I got TRXYE and it is amazing! If you don't know what that is go check out Troye Sivan and then proceed to check out TRXYE.
Goodnight everyone!
Farewell!
