Chapter 13
Oz POV:
I wake up and the lights are off. Okay, so I'm probably still in the infirmary and it's probably night time. Now that I've figured out what time of day it is and where I am I feel like sleeping in my own bed. The nurse will probably panic tomorrow morning at my expense. This whole thing will end in me getting scolded. Meh. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
I slowly pull the sheets off of me and crawl out of the bed. I then tiptoe to the door of the infirmary. Maybe I should have made the bed. Oh well.
I open the door. It creaks. I flinch at the noise. Please don't wake anyone up. Please please please! None of the dark figures stir so I think I'm safe. I creep into my bed and stare at the ceiling for an hour before I drift off.
Tris POV:
I wake up with the sun.
As the rays slowly shine into our dorm through the window I notice one more sleeping figure than there was last night. Normally I would pester Oz for the truth but I think she deserves a break with all the secrets we've made her keep and all the drama that's been going on.
I quickly put clothes on and run out into the hallway.
Time Skip
I come back with my arms full of bags. I went grocery shopping and bought a bunch of food. I got a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch for breakfast this morning. Oz is awake and staring at a wall. She sees me and tries to fake sleep.
"I got you cereal. Hope you like Cinnamon Toast Crunch." I then make myself a bowl and sit down on the floor. Oz stands and does the same.
"You fainted twice last night." I state.
"I know. I felt a little nauseous," she responds. I nod signaling that I think that makes sense. If she doesn't bring up me asking the question, I'm not going to bring it up. I can always try and get the answer out of Zeke. Or maybe even Tobias himself.
As soon as she finishes, Oz stands up.
"I should go," she says. I don't look up from my bowl. She changes and leaves. The door opening and closing must wake Marlene because she then sits straight up.
"Breakfast, Mar Mar!" I yell. Christina also wakes up and yells a few choice words. I laugh. "Don't worry! There's some for you too, Chrissy!"
Christina grumbles while Marlene and I share a delightful breakfast.
Oz POV:
I walk down a corridor. Then another. Now turn. Walk. Turn. And there it is. The doorway to outside.
I walk outside and sit on the bench. I realize that this is really quite boring all alone. But I'm not really in the mood to put up with him.
Speak of the devil, there he comes. With a lipstick stain on his cheek, Peter struts up to the bench and plops down next to me. Except it does it gracefully. He gracefully plops down. Aka he sits down.
"Hey Sour Patch, how are you?" I ask.
"I like the nick name. Only I think it suits you better," he responds whole fiddling with his shirt. I laugh.
"That shall be our couple name. Sour Patch. Sour, sweet, gone." I joke.
"Did you just reference to our relationship ending?" he asks in an incredulous voice. I raise an eyebrow.
"Our relationship? This is a relationship? God, I'd like to see a fling then." He smirks.
"A fling is a kiss in a closet. We've only had one kiss, yes, but it's certainly not in the closet." Um, what?
"What exactly does that mean?" I ask.
"I know you've told. I, on the other hand, haven't. Gentlemen don't kiss and tell." I snort.
"Yeah, so why didn't you tell." Throughout the conversation he's been keeping a look on his face that would make one think he's very interesting and funny. The face turns to one that says "ha ha ha" in a sarcastic manner.
"I'm more of a gentleman than you are a lady," he shoots.
"I never called myself a lady. You have called yourself a gentleman. There's a difference."
"Oh really?" He then leans in. Now I'm leaning in. Now we're kissing. Whaa? Why am I kissing him again? I don't even like him! I think...
I pull away and look him dead in the eyes.
"Peter, I have to ask you something. You have to tell the truth, the whole truth, only the truth, and nothing but the truth. Okay?" I say seriously.
"Alright."
"Do I like you?"
He cracks up. He even falls off the bench. I smack him.
"Peter! Seriously!" I scream at him. He looks at me from the ground.
"I don't know. Probably. Why else would you kiss me?" That is a good point. I guess I should ask the natural follow up question.
"Do you like me?" I ask.
"Sort of."
"Sort of?" I question.
"Yeah. I don't really like you but I don't not like you." he responds with a shrug. I shrug.
"Well, I think that's my answer as well. I guess I sort of like you, Sour Patch." I say, rolling onto him.
"Oof! I guess I sort of like you too, Sour Patch."
Okay, wow, fun fact: I went to upload Chapter 14 but then I saw there wasn't a thirteen up because apparently I forgot to upload this. Wow.
Anyways, I now have an Instagram account! It's called HelloImOz and that's pretty much all there is to it! Go follow it if you want to! I never really post anything... Then again I've only had it for like three days so...
Does anyone else start school tomorrow (aka September 3rd?)? I do! I don't wanna go! I'm nervous! I'll elaborate on that subject in my next AN.
170 reviews please?!
