Cairo's POV

Jadyn and George never did make it to the Gryffindor common room with us. On the way up, Jadyn had the sudden need to go back to her own common room, pulling George along with her. Fred said that he was positive we could find them snogging in a broom cupboard somewhere.

The common room was empty when we arrived, so we flopped onto a couch and sat in silence. It always seemed awkward between us recently, and I wasn't sure why. I mean, I'm awkward because I secretly fancy him, but usually Fred isn't awkward at all.

"Fred - " I began, ready to ask him, but he obviously had something on his mind too, because he spoke at the same time.

"Cairo, I - "

"Oh you first," I insisted.

"Okay." He took a deep breath in and whispered, "Cairo, I - I really really - I mean - "

He shook his head, obviously unsure of how to say whatever he wanted to say. I was just about to tell him it was alright, when he leaned forwards unexpectedly and kissed me.

Jadyn's POV

I hadn't really dragged George into the Slytherin common room, I had dragged him into a broom cupboard. I needed some alone time with him, if you know what I mean. He seemed to enjoy himself too.

As we ran back towards the Gryffindor common room, we ran into Angelina. She was sobbing because Lee, her boyfriend, had gone to the ball with Alicia, and then after he had apologized to her and given her a dance, she had seen him run off with Katie. We stopped to comfort her a bit (Lee could definitely be a jerk sometimes), but then Alicia came up to commiserate with her, so we continued on our way up.

I wasn't sure what I had been expecting when we entered the common room, but it certainly wasn't this.

Fred and Cairo were locked in a passionate kiss. I grumbled as I passed George a couple galleons. I thought they were wait longer until a kiss, but George had sworn that Fred would just go in for the kill.

"It's about time," George said, and the two broke apart, blushing.

"I just couldn't help it," Fred said, intertwining his fingers with Cairo's.

"I wish you 'couldn't help it' a couple years ago," Cairo muttered. I began laughing loudly, George snorted, but Fred just went red.

"I should've," he sighed, looking into Cairo's eyes and brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"Hey, don't get all mushy on us while we're here!" George exclaimed, adverting his eyes dramatically. I rolled my eyes fondly at him.

"Maybe we should just find our own corner then, hmm?" I hummed, grabbing George's tie seductively. He looked very seduced.

"Hey, you two just got back from a broom closet," Fred joked, but he looked like he wouldn't mind splitting up so each couple could snog each other senseless.

"Ugh! Honestly Ronald!"

"Oh no," Cairo said, her head snapping towards the portrait hole. "Hermione only calls him Ronald when she's mad."

Cairo bustled off to help Hermione out and I giggled at how Fred was gaping at her like a goldfish, obviously still trying to comprehend that she had left.

"Slipped right through your fingers, huh?" George joked, putting an arm around my waist.

I smirked playfully and, just to see how he liked it, up and left him, to go help Hermione as well. I couldn't help but laugh at how he now wore the same expression as his twin.
