I am so sorry I haven't Updated in forever. I was going to last week but the page was down. I've been busy with uni, then over break my laptop broke so I had to save up for a new one. Finally got a new one and had to write the chapter since I couldn't retrieve the story from the other laptop. (I also lost the other Shikamaru & Temari I was working on) I also became my sororities historian, and decide to learn russian, which is hard.

Anyways heres chapter 24, hope you enjoy.

Shikamaru and Naruto where at the gates waiting for the Kazekage and his guard, Naruto decide he was going to be the unofficial guide after all he would be Hokage one day.

Temari and her brothers arrived to Konoha. "Hey Gaara, Kankuro… Temari," Naruto said grinning at the Temari part causing Gaara and Kankuro to look over at Temari wondering what was going on. "Naruto, you should address Lord Kazekage with respect," Temari snapped apparently Shikamaru didn't tell Naruto to not say anything about their situation.

"It's ok Temari, Naruto is a close friend," Gaara said. The group made their way to the Hokages office.

"Welcome Lord Kazekage, Kankuro, Temari nice to see you again," Lady Tsunade said with a bow. "Thank you Lady Hokage it is an honor to be back in Konoha," Gaara said returning the bow.

The Hokage told them where they were staying at and they left to their hotel. Naruto and Shikamaru took them to their hotel; of course Naruto talked the whole way. They dropped them off and left to do their other duties. "Hey Shikamaru how come you didn't talk to your girlfriend at all," Naruto asked on the way back. "She's not my girlfriend," Shikamaru said lazily.

"Ohh right… I see now you don't want her brothers knowing your doing her," Naruto said with a sly smile. "Troublesome, look whatever happens between Temari and me stays between Temari and me… see you around."Naruto wondered what his olds in the bet were.

Later Shikamaru was at his apartment, when Temari showed up. "Hey crybaby missed me," she said sitting on the couch.

"I see you still have a key," Shikamaru said. "Do you want it back," she asked, she really didn't need it to get in anyways. "No you can keep it… so what's up with your brothers you think they'll be ok with you and me," he asked putting her arm around her.

She gave him a peck "Not a chance their over protective and we're not even a couple, they'd probably try to kill you," she said so lightly that it worried him. "Troublesome, it might be hard everyone in Konoha is saying were dating," he said kissing her.

"Well we're not we just have to show them that we're allowed to do what we want as long as we don't sleep with anyone else," she said getting worked up, to her making it official would only lead to the end she liked where they were now having fun without complications. "You're so troublesome," he said. "That's what makes it fun," she said with a sly smile giving him a kiss. They didn't say much after that.

Later that night Temari went out with her brothers and the Konoha 12 minus Ino as the traditional Konoha Pre-Final Festival was in full swing. "Isn't weird letting Shikamaru flirt and all," Tenten asked Temari at the bar. "Not at all it's not like we're together or anything," Temari said, deep down the only reason she wasn't worried was because she knew that it would be too troublesome for him.

"Wow I wouldn't be able to let Neji do that," Tenten said. "Why would I flirt with someone else when I have the best girl in Konoha," Neji said giving Tenten a kiss.

"Sorry Neji but I have the best girl in Konoha," Sasuke said giving Sakura a twirl, as they joined the group with Naruto and Hinata. "Wrong as usual Sasuke I have by far the best and most amazing girl in all the land of fire, no in the entire world," Naruto exclaimed giving Hinata a twirl and a dip followed by a kiss.

"Yea yea their all great, NOW BRING ON THE SAKE!" Kankuro said joining the group. "Nice try Kankuro but unfortunately you me and Gaara would be able to get drunk tomorrow is the final part of the exam and we have to be ready for anything," Temari said.

"God Temari you're such a downer you need to get laid," Kankuro let out causing Shikamaru and Temari to choke as the Konoha 12 looked at them. "Kankuro," Gaara said seriously. "Calm down Gaara I was just joking, there no way I'm letting any guy touch our sister like that," Kankuro said causing Shikamaru to gulp.

"Hey so how would the ideal guy for Temari be," Naruto asked gaining a glare from Temari. "Huh…" Kankuro hadn't really ever thought of it, "Well… he'd have to be a Shinobi, every smart and powerful at least a Jonin, preferably an ANBU or ex ANBU," Kankuro said.

"He'd also have to be from a good family able to maintain our sister, it would be best if he was a heir to a clan it wouldn't necessarily have be from Suna we can strengthen our bond with other nations through marriage… hmm… Temari have you ever thought of dating Kaito Hōzuki from the Hōzuki Clan of Kiri," Gaara said.

"I know him he's super powerful and handsome right girls," Tenten said, luckily she didn't have to worry about Neji getting jealous he already knew she was doing it to mess with Shikamaru. The girls nodded causing only Naruto to get jealous, Sasuke had already caught on.

"That Suigetsu's clan, he's an indirect heir but still up there with Suigetsu. I have to admit they are powerful it's a great choice, though if they got married Temari would have to move to Kiri members of that clan have to stay hydrated and wouldn't be able adjust to Suna's climate," Sasuke said.

Shikamaru was starting to get a little jealous he didn't like the idea of Temari with another guy. "Before you guys go head and start making wedding invitations you should know I'm not interested. I've never met him and I would like to know a person before I think about starting a family with them."

"Sis if you have to get to know a person before thinking of settling down it's never going to happen, you might as well marry Nara or Choji I think their you're only guy friends that aren't taken at the moment, because all the guys you date don't last 2 months," Kankuro said causing Shikamaru to choke on his drink and the rest of the group's expect, Gaara's, eyes to wided a bit and gaining Kankuro a very strong smack on the head from Temari who was turning red with anger while he was talking.

"Shut up Kankuro or Gaara will have to find a new guard on account that his current one is in the hospital," Temari said angrily. "By the way Choji has a girlfriend so she should marry Shikamaru," Naruto said gaining an equally strong smack.

"Anyone else want to say something," Temari said with her fist in the air. Everyone shook their heads, "Calm down sister it was just a thought about you and Hōzuki and you shouldn't listen to Kankuro," Gaara said. "Hey!" Kankuro said rubbing his head.

After their little group discussion Temari went to dance with the girls till the guy came and took their girlfriends, she started to dance with a civilian guy. She could see Shikamaru with her brother talking to a girl who was clearly interested in the lazy shinobi.

Shikamaru wasn't really paying attention to the girl that was talking to him. He was checking on Temari every now and then her dress was way too short in his opinion. The girl eventually got bored and left.

"Hey Shikmaru are you gay or something?" Kankuro asked. "What! No why are you asking," he said surprise. "Because that girl was totally flirting with you and you did nothing," Kankuro said very loudly. "So?" At that Kankuro just shook his head.

"Hey Gaara did you know Shikamaru is gay," Kankuro said. "I'm not," Shikamaru snapped. "Prove it," Kankuro challenged, "go dance with that girl."

Shikamaru thought it would be all to troublesome but it would be more troublesome to shut Kankuro up and the entire village would think he was gay and eventually the rumor would get to his mother and that would be a drag. He sighed, "Fine."

Shikamaru asked the girl to dance and she accepted. Temari was eyeing the girl Shikamaru was dancing with she wasn't jealous, according to her. After a while the DJ played a slow song and Temari stopped dancing and went over to her brothers.

"Hey sis 10000 that girl kisses Shikamaru," Kankuro said with a huge grin. "You're on," she said with a smile. There no way Shikamaru is going to let someone kiss him she thought. Kankuro grinned wider and Gaara shook his head.

Temari watched as Shikamaru danced and then she saw her lead over and give him a kiss. Her eyes went wide; she couldn't believe Shikamaru wasn't doing anything about it. She got up and left.

Shikamaru kissed the girl and then looked over to Kankuro, he saw Temari get up and leave. "What a drag," he said going out after her.

Gaara eyebrow lifted, "What's up with her," Kankuro asked. "I know what's going on," said Kiyomi who had been watching the group for a while. Ino had told her that Temari's brothers were protective of her; she should inform them what was going on.

Temari was outside fight with Shikamaru, "your brother was going to tell everyone I was gay,"

"I don't care what that idiot said you shouldn't have let her kissed you like that," Temari said angrily. "What are you getting so mad about, you're the one who didn't want a relationship," he said. "Yea but I don't want you kissing someone else in front of me," she said.

"Fine, I'll do it when you're not around then," he said. She hit him on the head, "You dumb ass fine whatever."

"Fine," he said, he smirked and grabbed her waist, "I love it when you're jealous."She was going to say that she wasn't but he gave her a kiss and they started making out.

Until Temari was pulled way by blue chakra strings and Shikamaru was thrown to the wall by sand that wrapped around him.

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY SISTER," said a very angry Gaara with a look in his eye that reminded him of when he had the one-tail.
