Ok so I haven't been updating because of uni and stuff, I feel like just taking the money spent on uni and go travel the world. I don't think uni is for me but I stay cause I'm looking forward to next year. I get to live in my sorority house with my best friends, though it was hell to get out of living in the dorms since i failed a class last term. I'm currently writing a 6 page paper due tomorrow and I remember it's thursday and for some reason I only like updating on thursdays, sorry about that. I had this chapter done just kept forgetting to update on thursdays, so sorry, I also have a few chapters done for another Shikamaru and Temari story.

Anyways here's chapter 25 hope you like it and sorry for any mistakes I'll check it later.

Shikamaru couldn't breathe his body felt paralyzed; he felt the sand wrap tighter around his body, he knew Gaara was angry and that the only hope he had to live rested with Temari.

"GAARA LET HIM GO! YOU'RE GOING TO KILL HIM," Temari said frightened for Shikamaru. "GOOD," an angry Kankuro said. "LET ME GO KANKURO," Temari yelled trying to get out of his hold. "No, we're not letting Shikamaru keep having- um.. doing what he wants with you freely sis," he said.

"Nara, your death will be a painful one for taking advantage of my sister," Gaara said through his teeth wrapping more sand around the nearly unconscious Shikamaru.

Temari could barely think her brother was killing the man she loved, she couldn't believe that she admitted that she had fallen for the lazy shinobi, "Stop it please we're together... we're dating and I-I love him," she said pleading for him whispering the last part even though she admitted it to herself it was hard for her to say it.

"Gaara please don't go back to how you were all those years ago you're better than that please," she said a bit louder, the Gaara she saw right now was the same ominous boy that had a heavy lust for blood years ago.

Gaara realized how hard his grip on the Nara boy was, all though he did want him dead moments ago he now saw the pled in his sisters eyes and weakened his grip on Shikamaru who was now unconscious, "Temari he's taking advantage of you and you're feeling his girlfriend told us he only playing with you," Kankuro said angrily.

If she hated Kiyomi before she hated her even more now, next time she saw her she would have no mercy. She couldn't believe her brothers would fall for that Kankuro she could see but Gaara was a surprise, though over the years they had become closer she didn't think the idea would bug him so much. She concluded that it must have been Kankuro who riled him up.

"He's not playing with me and she's not his girlfriend anymore he broke up with her to be with me and that's why she hates me and told you two she probably hoped you two would get angry and try to stop us- our relationship," she said.

With this Gaara put the unconscious Nara down feeling very bad that he lost it for a while, "Let her go Kankuro," Gaara said is his normal voice. Kankuro released her from the hold of the strings and she rushed over to Shikamaru, "Gaara I think you broke his ribs, hurry help me get him to the hospital."

"He'll live but I definitely broke a rib or two and he'll have lot of bruise, but he'll be fine," Gaara said.

The two of them carried the lazy shinobi to the hospital as a still upset Kankuro walk beside them. Temari watched as the doctor check him at the hospital. "Miss I have to ask you to step out of the room while we work on him I can assure you he'll be fine," the nurse said leading her to the door.

After a while, that for Temari seemed much longer, the doctor came out. "Miss he should wake up in a day or two he has 5 broken ribs and bruising on his arms and legs but he'll be fine. She thanked the doctor and went to his room; he had bandages around his chest arms and legs.

The next morning woke up in the hospital, sitting next to a still unconscious Shikamaru she hadn't realized she had fall asleep at the hospital. She went to her suite to take a shower, later Temari with a blush on her face had to explain to the Hokage the reason that Shikamaru would not be able to be at the final. She unknowingly cost the Hokage over 1,000,000 yen do all the bets about Temari, her brothers and the Nara, she had just lost.

Unfortunately the final part of the exam was later that day and she would have to leave the day after and wouldn't be back for months since the next exams would be held in Suna she would only be back every 3 months if need if not every 6, till the exams returned to Konoha . If Shikamaru didn't wake up today she wouldn't be able to talk to him till she came back. After the exam she waited for him to wake up, luckily he work up around 9 pm.

"How you feeling," she asked. "Surprised I'm alive thought for sure Gaara had killed me," he said. "He almost did... listen I'm so sorry for everything I-," he cut her off. "Don't be I knew your brother wouldn't like the idea, but it was a risk I was willing to take."

"Why?" "Hmm" he looked at her. "Why were you willing to risk having to get beat up by my brothers for me?"

He was silent for a while before he said something, "You know just before I black out I hear you tell Gaara we were dating," she turned red remembering what else she said, she really hoped that he blacked-out before she said the rest. They both stayed quiet for a bit she didn't know if should admit it or not. "... I also her you said you loved me."

"Y-you were blacking-out you must have hallucinated because I didn't," she said, she didn't want to admit that. "You sure because it didn't seem like I was hallucinating," he said with a smirk. "Shut up lazy ass," she snapped.

He didn't say anything for a while, "When are you coming back?" he asked. "Don't know it could be anything from 3-6 months, I leave tomorrow," she told him thinking about if he still wanted to be with her then.

Though he could barely move his right arm he placed his hand over hers, she didn't move away. "So what now are in a really relationship like told your brothers or do they still want to kill me and have us as far apart from each other," he asked half-joking half-serious.

She chuckled, "Kankuro is a little upset by it and Gaara well he says its fine since I told him were together." Temari didn't really know how to answer the rest, she didn't know if she was ready for a long-distance relationship. She hated to admit it but how they were know was basically a relationship but by not calling it a relationship and knowing she could flit with other made it less real to her. "I don't know about having a real relationship even though all of Konoha thinks we've been dating for a while."

"We can try it I mean after all we basically had a relationship why not make it official," he said looking at her, he really liked the idea of having it know that Temari was his and that they were together.

She thought about it for a while, she could give a try or she could say no and lose the person she had the most fun and loved hanging out with, even though she didn't admit it. "Fine," she said, "... I guess I'll see you in a few months then you better take me out on a proper date and all that stuff that comes along with relationships," she continued, getting up and giving him a quick kiss before leaving.

"See you soon troublesome girlfriend," Shikamaru said before closing his eyes and going back to sleep.
