Sonic speed ahead and stopped covering his sister's path, "Sonia? What's going on? You seem a little off since you came back..."

Sonia avoided his eyes and attempted o pass through. Sonic grabbed her hand.

"What happened?"

"Nothing!" she shook him off as she passed through the door of her room... She hasn't felt this way for a long time.. not after the breakup with Bartleby...

Then she got a call, some friends probably wanted to tell her happy birthday, that's what she though.

But she was wrong.

In the Festive Streets of Mobius a man with a wacky mustache was making demands:

"So, people of Mobius! Surrender! or hand over the master emerald!"

Rouge peaked from the corner as she noticed the interference with her plans, Trying to hide in the crowd she moves forward in attempt to leave the town square, "This is ruining my fun" she muttered, "Then again, they are sure to be here now..." Just don't notice me stupid Egg-head.

"ROUGE! What a surprise!" she heard an angry voice rage from above her head.

"Oh no..." How am I supposed to get out of here now? I got no weapons on me!

That was when she was a flash dashing through the crowd and land a direct hit on Eggman's head.

"Good day, Dr. Eggman," he pronounced in a mocking voice.

Eggman's face went red as he hit the buttons on his remote control panel, the people dashed in different directions as they felt the approaching danger. "SEND OUT ALL THE BOTS! DESTROY THAT RODENT!"

I'm in the same league as Sonic? Not a chance! though Shadow as he prepared to face the battle to come.

That was when several ships arrived with hatches opening in every possible spot.

The bots chased Shadow down and out of the town as he tried to avoid most possible damage. After that he realized that just his power would not be enough and clipped the rings off as bots airmed at him. He attempted to demolish them one in one go

FLASH!

He looked at the rubble behind him as he sighed and began to lock the rings back on his wrists that second he felt something pierce his skin and a small explosion went off.

He finished locking the second ring and his hand shifted to his back to touch a wet spot. His white glove was covered in a hot red liquid.

BLOOD

He hasn't felt this sensation in a long time. Not after all the self defence and fighting training he remembered going through when he was smaller. But you can't cover this up with a bandage... He moved over to the nearest rock to lean on it, his communication device was busted.

"Great... Commander will go nuts..."

An engine roared and a dash of pink showed up on the site, a voice exclaimed "Who destroyed all these robots?" Shadow knew it was that hedgehog he ran into earlier that day. Sonia was it? He didn't have time for this!

A voice replied to her- "Well, well, Looks like the princess is here..."

Rouge is here? so she was close by the whole time... uggg... The pain jabbed his body...

They were talking for a while, he couldn't make out the words and his mind began to go hazy...

A weird sound and a mechanical click... What was going on there?

That was when Sonia pulled out the keyboard-gun.

"Hey gal! Watch it! You can hurt someone! I'm only looking for a friend of mine!"

"Shadow the Hedgehog by any chance?"

"How do you?"

"The people told be they saw a black hedgehog with Sonic's speed dashing around, that is proof enough for me!"

That was when they herd someone groaning, a red trail on the ground led them to a rock upon which shadow leaned, his eyes looked hazy, he was losing consciousness from the blood loss.

The girls quickly cooperated to pull Shadow over to Sonia's motorcycle. Sonia had a first aid kit at all times so they managed to stop the blood, but he needed medical attention. They headed straight for the castle where the rest of the gang were staying.

Back in the lab Hope was sending off the concerned nurses.

"I'M FINE NOW! I NEED TO GET BACK TO WORK!"

As she shut the door and headed for her working area she felt slight tingling in her body. She paid no attention to it, until she realized her skin began to glow with a slight glassy look to it.

She felt he body change at a rapid pace as she fell to the floor, the skin became paler, her hair a lighter blond. He mid kept getting images that she wasn't sure were her's to begin with.

Then she remembered, as she saw images of Shadow flash by.

She remembered the story the orphanage told her: We found you lying inside a large blue dress, it's an adult size surely, a hairband was there too and a pair of shoes.

A little voice inside her shrieked as she moved to pull out the box. They kept it for her as that maybe her link to her family, but it was a link to her own past.

Tears rolled down her eyes.

He thinks i'm DEAD! ME! MARIA ROBOTNIK... Shadow's big sister. The little brother that promised to protect me... All because.. I'm.. a chaos emerald...

That was when she felt a sharp pain in her chest.

Shadow... he was in danger...

Without realizing so she began to glow brightly

That's right... I can teleport...

She smiled faintly, she can finally be with her little bro as her true self.

"SONIA!" Sreamed sonic as he dashed into the hall after returning from town. That was when he saw shadow supported by Sonia, Knuckles and Rouge being slowly dragged in the direction of the medical room, "You're.. Alive..?"

But Shadow only groaned, he noticed the bandages covering his body.

"You don't look too good..." He said as he replaced Rouge knowing that this will need immediate action.

"We need to taking him to a chaos emerald... I noticed it before but he seems to feed off the energy, this may help him heal faster..."

Shadow mumbled, "That woun't help... Just leave me... It's better to give up now..."

Sonic was infuriated, "YOU SURVIVED A HUMONGO EXPLOSION AND YOU SAY WE NEED TO GIVE UP BECAUSE YOU LOST SOME BLOOD?"

"She isn't here... to... heal me... I've got... 3 days... to live..."

"Is the cell of any use?"

"no... that's for my brain mostly... not my body..." he seemed to have remembered something as they put him down onto the bed, "Hope.. managed... somehow..."

"She is one gifted little girl.." said Rouge as she continued the conversation, "But that far?"

Manic was confused as he pulled out the bandages and with the help of Sonia and the others changed the bandage and disinfected the wound, "Who are you talking about?"

"Our little lab Genius" she replied.

Shadow quelched and bent over.

"That's it! exclaimed Rouge as she opened the window, "That pod will be better that nothing!"

"And how do you plan to get it in here? It can't be on you ship, can it?"

"The portable version sure can!"

Shadow was asleep, they managed to calm down the pain and he rested in the pod, the bandages stopped getting soaked in his blood as quickly and they could finally let Cream see him.

Knuckles glanced at Rouge, "So you work for those guys now?"

"The pay is good..."

The phone rang in Rouge's pocket.

"Rouge? Status report now! Where is Shadow?"

"We're in a bit of a Pickle-Pumpkin... Shadow isn't in good shape... he said he might die..."

"Great... just when hope went missing!"

"Wha...?"
