I do not own anything from Naruto, that is all Masashi Kishimoto.
This is my first fanfic and because it is my first, criticisms are welcome, feedback is appreciated, and flames (well, noone usually likes you anyway :P), no I'm kidding, please still feel free to post reviews.
As previously stated, I do not like to write to canon, but some parts will be as per canon. Though that will be up to my discretion. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed the reviews.

Chapter 15: Kurama's Training
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Time skip of 3 months
Naruto kneeled on the ground, panting, out of breath and sweating underneath his mask. Magenta had been training and sparring him ruthlessly on his speed, strength, taijutsu, ninjutsu, and anything else she deemed worthy to teach him pretty much every day, six days a week. However, he still couldn't land a single hit on her and anytime he got close to doing so, she would up her game just that much more. He felt like she was toying with him, and in reality, she probably was. After all, she was the head of ANBU.
"Maybe if I release my gravity seals, I'll be able to touch her."
"Its worth a shot. Then again, even with you using Hiraishin you still can't touch her and your gravity seals are only at level two. Considering Hiraishin is instantaneous, you still won't touch her though she'll get hurt considerably with released gravity seals." Kurama stated, sitting on his throne as he watched the bountiful amount of sparring sessions his container had with this Magenta ANBU.
"How do you know so much about gravity seals and the speeds they go at?" Naruto asked curiously, trying to catch his breath while Magenta rolled her shoulders.
"You're not the first one to use gravity seals and you won't be the last. Believe it or not, your father used them too and raised his gravity seal to level 5. Your mother used them and raised them to level 3. Most shinobi who can use gravity seals typically have high chakra reserves because of the constant flow of chakra you need to pump into them. That said, your father also created what he called Hiraishin Step Level 4 that decimated armies alone." Kurama explained, grinning that this boy still hadn't figured out that his parents were faster than he was.
"For all your knowledge about my parents, you don't tell me much except for in the moment." Naruto growled at that thought. He wanted to know more about his parents and this fox demon who he called a friend, refused to tell him much beyond what he deemed necessary. It was annoying, to say the least.
"You never ask and quite frankly, I don't really care to give you all the information you need. You need to figure these things out on your own. Then again, you are a human and most of you are completely stupid and need to be spoon fed answers." Kurama replied, grinning, "And I will not have a stupid jailor."
"Who's dumber... the kid who's only 12 years old and asking for answers or the bijuu who gets controlled by someone to attack a village?" Naruto taunted his friendly headache-maker.
"Watch your tone boy! Or I promise you, your training with me will be that much harder. As a matter of fact, why don't you call it a day and spar me in your mind. We'll see if you're even fit for me to train you." Kurama growls as he takes his staff and slams the ground hard, giving Naruto a headache.
Naruto sighed and held a hand up, "I need a break for the day, Magenta-sensei. I can barely move a muscle and its getting late."
Magenta raised an eyebrow from behind her mask and shrugged her shoulders, "Not the kind of statement I'd expect from you, Memna... but so be it. Tomorrow is Sunday so you can take the day off, but on Monday we'll be getting back into it." She said as she walked past him and sat on the patio and grabbed a water bottle as she drank from it, the water going through an open slit where the mouth would be.
Naruto walked over slowly and sat down next to Magenta. "I wonder where she is today..." he thought to himself. He hadn't seen Yugao in about three weeks and was getting a little worried about her and wanted to see her. "Hey Magenta, I have a question."
"What do you want, Menma?" the ANBU woman asked.
"You said that the Fourth Hokage could never beat you. If that is truly the case, why did you never get selected for Hokage?" he asked, curiously, looking over his training field as Sanarah prowled in the bushes for some rabbits.
"While my history or reason of choices is of no concern to you, I will leave it at this. I simply didn't want to be Hokage." she said stoicly as she stood up and shunshined away, as if she was never there.
Naruto blinked, completely baffled that someone wouldn't want to be Hokage. "What kind of person doesn't want to be Hokage?"
"You'll come to find there are some who want to serve the people openly and some who want to serve from the shadows away from the glory of their duty. She probably falls into the latter category." Kurama stated as he began walking into the field that he was to spar Naruto in. "Now come fight me boy. Lets see where you stand and if you deserve me to train you with the vast knowledge I have." He slammed his staff on the ground as he summoned Naruto into the mindscape. He watched Naruto get into fighting stance. "Fight me with everything. You think you can't touch Magenta, lets see if you can touch me."
Shrugging, Naruto released his gravity seals. "Alright Kurama, you ready?"
"Come at me boy." Kurama just stood there, impassive, cold and uncaring that this boy, this child, this meaningless human was about to fight him. Kurama, the king of all Bijuu, the demon of demons, the thing children fear of at night. He had fought with countless shinobi who were stronger than him eons ago during the violence of the Clan Wars when shinobi were first created. He'd seen countless styles, countless jutsus, countless everything. This boy wasn't going to touch him, let alone beat him.
Naruto brought out his sword and ran towards Kurama, his speed having increased due to releasing his gravity seals. However, that wasn't the only thing that increased, his strength increased as well as he swung at Kurama and merely had his blow parried by the staff his opponent wielded. Before he knew it, the staff had been planted into his chest to push him away and then brought to his open side at a speed he couldn't comprehend and was sent flying across the field. "Fuck, that hurt. How did he move so fast, I didn't even see him move."
Kurama brought his arm back and grinned at the boy in front of him. "Is that it? That's all you've got? Please, your mother was more of a challenge..." the fox demon paused for a second, "Then again, she did have those blasted ethereal chains." Kurama shuddered a second remembering how often he would be caged away by those blasted chains. It was the same chains that stopped him from killing the boy in front of him as a baby. "Hmm." Kurama was brought out of his musing by a trio of water, earth, and fire dragons hurling towards him. "So you're serious boy?! Alright, let's do this!" Kurama slammed the staff, embedding it into the ground before going through a handful of seals and gathering chakra, "Senpo: Koraboreshon Kabe." (Sage Art: Collaboration Wall). Quickly, a wall of condensed mud and lightning was jutted out in front of Kurama. He quickly jumped up from behind the wall to atop the wall and watched as the dragons collided into the wall with the wall standing victorious.
"Damn it, thought that trio technique would work. Always made Magenta-sensei jump away. What the hell is Senpo, Kurama?" Naruto asked curiously.
"Senpo or sage mode, is the most advanced form of chakra manipulation. It is the use of nature chakra to expand your abilities exponentially. I can utilize sage mode at will for a long duration of time. At some point though, I will run out and need to gather more, but we won't be fighting long enough for me to use it all." Kurama grinned from atop the wall. "However, for a child of 12 years, you're not doing too bad. Your mother did better though." Kurama went through a few seals and slammed his hand into the wall, "Mokuton: Uddo keimusho" ("Wood Style: Wood Prison") As he finished the jutsu, Naruto was quickly trapped inside a wooden prison.
Blinking, Naruto was completely surprised that Kurama could use the renowned style of the First Hokage. "How are you able to use that? Mokuton was only known by the First Hokage and he trained no one to use it, or so the books say."
"Kekkei Genkai and Kekkei Tota can be learned by anyone so long as they know the right combinations and have the right elements. You have all five elements, have an exceptional use of a few of them, so you could potentially create dozens of combinations of Kekkei Genkai and Kekkei Tota. We'll work on that during your training." Kurama jumped down from the wall and grabbed his staff before releasing the jutsu and the wood disappearing into the ground. He walked over to Naruto and offered out his fist. "We start tomorrow. I'll give you instructions and you'll stay in the real world to practice." The man-demon watched his container leave the mindscape after bumping fists and walked back to the temple. "Keep this up Naruto and you'll be a force to be reckoned with, even against the Sannin maybe."
Naruto returned to the real world and was hit with a sudden mind-splitting headache that caused him to pass out, a good majority of his clones having dispersed from their mission in Uzushiogakure, granting him with months of information.
Yugao was jumping through the trees after an exhausting recon and assassination mission gone wrong. She had managed to eliminate her target, but she didn't expect her target to have a squad of ex-hunter nin from Kirigakure guarding her target. She hadn't even sensed them and she was a damn good sensor too. She took out two of the five members before getting overwhelmed and had to draw on some chakra from her chakra gem in order to use a shunshin that allowed her to escape the last three ex-hunter nin. Her clothes were bloody and she had bandaged her severest wounds. "Fuck. Naruto's going to be so pissed!"
FLASHBACK
Naruto and Yugao sat on a blanket at the top of the of Hokage's monuments a week before her long mission was to start. He had a soft green glow on his hands as he healed some of her wounds from her most recent mission. "You know Yugao-chan, this is getting really upsetting. Every time you go on a mission, you come back injured and those are just the short ones. Now you're going to go on a three week minimum mission?"
"Yeah. That's the life of an ANBU though, Menma-kun. I'm sorry that you don't like it, but I'll always come back." Yugao responded a little sadly. Her and Naruto had grown quite attached to each other over the last few months. So much so that if he wasn't training with Magenta or Sanarah, he was training with her or going on dates with her, much to the ire of a certain weapon-wielding teammate of his.
Naruto was half tempted to take off his mask and glare at her, but sighed and stopped the healing process and looked at her. "How about you do me one better. Always come back alive and never be injured." "I'm not sure what I'd do if I didn't have you anymore." He laid down on the blanket and stared at the sky, watching the clouds go by.
"Awww, how adorable. Is my little kit in love?" Kurama cackled and teased.
"Shut up, Kurama. I'm not in love." Naruto snapped back quickly. "At least I don't think I am. Even if I was, she's four years older than me." Naruto couldn't deny that he had some feelings for Yugao. She respected him, trained him, and was always with him. He had formed a bond with her beyond something his young mind could comprehend. Over the last few months, they had gone on plenty of dates and picnics, and had even gone on dual C-rank missions together that kept him nearby the city. It wasn't ideal, but Yugao insisted on bringing him with her when she was dealing with bandit missions. He suddenly felt a familiar weight against his toned chest and looked down to see Yugao having rested her head against his chest to listen to his calm heartbeat, soon feeling her arms wrap around his waist and snuggle in close to him. On reflex as he had done dozens of times before, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and held her to him.
"Face it kit. You love her. No amount of lying to me or yourself will change that." Kurama prodded his container, teasing him endlessly. This had become a typical routine when his container and the purple haired vixen went on dates together. He actually enjoyed mocking the boy, if for no other reason than to be a spiteful demon.
"Shut it, Kendama-sama." Naruto shot back quickly.
"Thought I told you not to fucking call me that, you spiteful, ungrateful, weak human meatbag!" the demon man-fox yelled out to his container, before pulsing chakra out to give the boy a headache.
"It was a joke, relax." Naruto didn't get a response from his mind and just mentally shrugged. "I'm serious Yugao-chan, stop coming back injured. I'm not sure how much more I can handle of having to heal you constantly."
"Don't worry Memna-kun. I'll do my best not to, but I can't guarantee anything. The job of an ANBU is quite dangerous and deadly and the mortality rate is quite high for the missions we do. There might be a mission I don't come back from." she stated, matter of factly, not that she wanted to, but more that it had to be said.
Naruto growled and smacked her shoulders hard enough to make her squeak. "You're not allowed to die on me. Promise me you'll do your best not to get hurt anymore and that you'll always come back."
Yugao snuggled into his chest even more. She didn't mind that he smacked her shoulders, as it wasn't done in anger, but more in love. It made her feel safe and secure knowing that someone cared about her that much. "I promise Menma."
END FLASHBACK
Yugao made it to the city gates and jumped in front of the gate guards, surprising Kotetsu and Izumo who always had the punishment (or luxury depending on how you saw it) of guarding the gates. She showed them her ninja ID before shunshin-ing off to the Hokage Tower and knocking on his door.
"Come in." an old voice said from behind the door.
Yugao walked in, closed the door and kneeled in front of him. "Mission accomplished, Hokage-sama. The mission report is right here." She brought a scroll from the pouch on her back and handed it to the Hokage.
"Excellent. I see you're wounded, Neko. Was the mission too hard for you?" Sarutobi raised an eyebrow at his ANBU subject. It wasn't uncommon for ANBU to come back bruised and bloodied, but for a simple mission like this, it was unnecessary.
"There were unforeseen and unknown variables that happened along the mission. Primarily being that some Kirigakure hunter nin have seemingly become mercenaries for hire. I managed to kill two of the five before I retreated." she continued to bow before the leader of the village.
Taking a pipe from his desk and leaned back in his chair and puffed from it. "I see. Well, go get your wounds seen to and take off the next month for recuperation and visit Inoichi and Ibiki for debrief and mental acuity tests. Dismissed."
Yugao left in a leaf shunshin and went straight to the Uzumaki compound to see Naruto, hoping against hope that he wouldn't be mad at her. Walking in, she flared out her chakra and located Naruto in his bedroom on his bed and went up to see him, before knocking on his door. "Afternoon, Naruto-kun." she said, smiling as she walked in.
"Yugao-chan!" Naruto exclaimed as he sat up from the bed he was resting on and was about to tackle her until he noticed the blood stains on her flak jacket and clothes. "What the hell Yugao! You promised you would try not to get hurt!" He walked over to her and stripped her of her flak jacket, much to the embarrassment of the sixteen year old kunoichi.
"I promised I would try not to, yes, and I tried not to. Surprisingly though, the intel I had on the mission was a little inaccurate and I ended up having to fight more than I could handle." She sat down on the bed and let Naruto begin to heal her. She could heal herself, as every ANBU had some training in the field of medical jutsu, but she enjoyed having Naruto look after her. There was something about his chakra and him worrying about her that gave her stomach butterflies. She knew why, but she knew he was still too young to be bound to her, even if she was bound to him already. "Could have been worse, I could have been killed." she teased.
At hearing the last sentence, Naruto growled and prodded her wound lightly before going back to healing it. "You die on me, I swear on the life of every shinobi in all the elemental nations, I will bring you back to life and beat your ass until Kami herself decides to intervene and bring you to the afterlife." Naruto said possessively and demandingly. "You are not allowed to die on me, under any circumstances. Understand?"
"Kit's getting possessive. Interesting." Kurama stated, teasing his jailor even further. "I have to say kit, for a twelve year old, you really do wear your emotions on your sleeves. I'm surprised you guys aren't dating already."
"Shut up. I just don't know what I'd do if she died. That's all."
"Uh huh. That's what every man says before he decides to tell a woman he loves her. Oh how the mighty have fallen." Kurama pretends to swoon in his throne and lets out a throaty laugh.
"I hate you sometimes, Kurama." Naruto responded, but got no response as his tenant was doing nothing but laughing maniacally. "Asshole."
"I understand. Keep in mind that we are shinobi and we can die on any mission, especially since I'm in ANBU." Yugao said as she felt Naruto moving to the other wounds she had on her shoulders and arms.
"Yeah, I know, but you have to do your best to stay alive and always come back to me. I'll always patch you up, no matter how bad your wounds, ok?" Naruto said as he finished healing Yugao up and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, blushing as he did so. No matter how many times he kissed her cheek, he always blushed doing so.
"Oh to be young and innocent." Kurama teased again, laughing even more as he received death threats from his container.
Yugao smiled and returned the kiss to Naruto's cheek. "I know, and I'll always come to you first before going to the hospital." she laid down on Naruto's bed and looked at him. "So what all did you do while I was gone?"
Laying down with Yugao he just shrugged, "Oh you know, little bit of this, little bit of that. Hey, do you know if there are any books in the Konoha Library about Kekkei Genkai and Kekkei Tota?"
"Yeah, there's quite a few books on them in the library in the Jonin and ANBU sections. Why?" the woman asked curiously.
"Well, I was told that because I have multiple affinities I could learn about mixing them together to create them, but really, I have no idea what they are. Think you can get me a handful of books that explains what they are, how they work, and what possible combinations there are?" Naruto asked, hoping she would do it.
"Sure, but it'll cost ya!" Yugao teased.
"What's the cost, Yugao-chan?" Naruto was excited. He'll get the books from Yugao and use shadow clones to practice the various types he might be able to do. He definitely wanted to learn Mokuton.
"It'll cost a picnic, tonight, under the full moon." Yugao said matter of factly.
"Ugh! We're always doing picnics under the moon! This will be the fifteenth one! Why can't we ever go on a date to Ichiraku's?" the blonde haired ninja complained.
"Ichiraku's is not a date! We've gone over this hundreds of times. When will you learn?!" she sighed exasperatedly. She loved the blonde shinobi, but his idea of dates was far outclassed. That's not to say she didn't love the dates to Ichiraku's, but she preferred the moonlight over ambient lighting from a lightbulb.
"Fine, but next time we go to Ichiraku's. Deal?" Naruto countered.
"Deal. I'll go take a shower and get the books, you get the food ready! Sun goes down in about thirty minutes." Yugao bounced off the bed and headed for the shower, "And don't you dare peek this time! I'm tired of throwing soap at you!"
"I don't peek! I try to prank you!"
"Peek, prank. Same thing! Don't do it!" Yugao closed the door to the bathroom before undressing and prepared to take a nice hot shower. "Damn it! I forgot to see Ibiki and Inoichi! Hrm. I'll see them when I go to get the books."
"What is it with her and not liking my pranks. I think they're fairly entertaining. Granted, I do go and plaster her clothes with paint and her as well, so maybe that's why she's always mad at me." Naruto shrugged and went down to the kitchen as he began preparing a meal for the picnic.
AN: Alright guys, here's the latest chapter. Sorry that it took so long to update. Between life getting a little more hectic and needing to write another story, it has taken some time. That said, you have my apologies that this chapter is a little slow. It should pick up again in a few chapters. As always, review and enjoy!
