Chapter 7: Battlefront Of Measurements
In Japan there exists a building that stands atop of a hill 40 meters in height. The building itself is covered in multiple square windows and rises to an incredible 400 meters in height. It is heavily guarded with state of the art weaponry, guarded from the inside by the greatest of soldiers. On the outside, helicopters armed to the tooth fly about like angry killer hawks. Soldiers as the ones inside stand ready for any intruders.
This is the location that two Diclonius watch from a kilometer away.
"That's where we need to go?" Victoria asked her partner and lover.
"Yes." Julius answered back. "That place is the main headquarters for the Anti-Diclonius technology. We need to find a way to get in there, get information and then destroy it."
"They keep the weapons in there?" The young woman asked.
"Doubtful." Julius replied. "But it's the location of their information, destroy that place and we can effectively cripple the operation. But Garder has had it entirely fortified as it is. It would take a miracle to even get inside."
Victoria looked around. "We can't just barge in I guess." She wasn't expecting her question to be answered. It was a rhetorical thought in the end. There had to be no less than about 300 guards just on the outskirts of the location. She wished they had their own military to use. But in the end, small militias aside which would be slaughtered if they came here. Their greatest military force was Lilian's Diclonius fleet and even that paled in comparison to the forces Director Morotisan controlled.
"Even if we get inside and finish the job, we still got to get out."
"As long as we can complete our objective that is all that should matter."
"Hm." She smiled at the emotionless words. "Some things don't change about you do they Julius? But I don't care what happens as long as I'm with you."
"Of course…" He replied to the young woman. "Let's head back, I don't feel confident in trying to attack the place now."
Without being seen, Julius and Victoria returned home.
Inside the structure of Anti-Diclonius weapon information, there was a figure in a black suit wearing sunglasses and holding a large gun in her hand. Her appearance seemed almost masculine and with her suit zipped up to her neck, it pressed against what were relatively large breasts, flattening them against her chest. She had short blonde hair and yellow eyes. The only thing that really seemed to give away her gender was her voice which was soft.
This was an agent and mercenary hired by Garder to protect the building she was currently at. She used to work for Saseba years ago but now she found herself serving the higher ups at this place. Truth be told she had no real ill will against the Diclonius race. Unlike thousands of others, she had never lost anything important to them. It was true that she supported Garder over Kaede but in the end she only cared about earning her paycheck at the end of the day. She only admitted to herself that it was sad that things had to come to this. Who knows, if the Pro-Diclonius forces had asked her to join, she probably wouldn't have hesitated to agree either.
"Captain Cents, we have trouble!"
Lilian arrived at the control room of her ship. Trailing around her were five other cruisers, the greatest Japan had to offer. She listened to the report and sighed angrily.
"Enemy attack from the air huh? How many?"
"About 30 attackers." Her reporter indicated to the bleeping dots on the radar.
"I suppose Garder doesn't want us to get any further than this…but…" She grinned wickedly, pressing a smile that would've made her father proud. "If that bastard thinks a few flies can take us down he's sadly mistaken. Let's increase the defenses, tell the other Diclonius to enact the barriers around the other ships. I ain't going to let a few buzzing flies bother me."
Lilian walked outside, her eyes gazing up into the blue skies that formed vast clouds across the heavens. There were a pair of minute dots in the distance, arriving ever so closer by the second. Around her, the armed guards of humans and the vectors of Diclonius swirled throughout the ship.
Lilian Cents felt her own vectors sprout like wings from her back, flapping through the air her vector wings radiated the powerful energy that could crush armies.
"Don't underestimate us you bastards!"
A shower of light, no longer in the shape of hands that vectors usually were, beams of corporeal light burst out from the wings that spread from her body. The jets made their moves on the mark and the battle between sea and sky began.
A rain of gunfire sent streams of water into the sky but hitting the ship proved more difficult than expected as the vector wall created by the many horned girls on each ship protected the cruisers. Turrets ran up and down the ships, firing off endlessly through the swarm of bullets.
An resonating explosion from an incoming missile blew away part of the vector wall around Lilian's ship, allowing a few bullets to get through.
"Hurry up and concentrate!" She yelled over to her girls. "Anyone heal the wounded!" She barked her orders and returned back to firing into the sky. Already 8 of the 30 jets were burning into flames and sinking into the ocean. Her confidence was rising until…"
"What?" She muttered as the jets turned away, this time heading to a further ship that attacked relentlessly. "Oh shit!" she cried out as each jet unleashed its full force of firepower against the vessel below. The shields created by the horned girls wouldn't be able to stand up to that kind of firepower.
Sure enough, the walls were breached, as if glass had shattered the vectors were destroyed by the powerful kinetic and explosive energy and Lilian watched in horror as one of her ships was wrecked apart like a cardboard box in a storm. The jets were too fast for the turrets to hit yet and the weapons too strong for the Diclonius to block or deflect.
"Shit!" Lilian cried out, seeing another massive explosion on the ship before her. It creaked loudly and the entire thing under such impressive destruction was split cleanly in two. She had no time to mourn the loss of her fellow humans and sisters.
"Get together! Bring all ships to one spot!" It would be better she thought to combine their strength instead of being picked off one by on. The cruisers responded to her orders instantly, until the five remaining Japanese cruisers were huddled together. Unseen by human eyes, the vector shields surrounding the ship become blotchy as it covered the entire armada.
Thus the fighting continued. The jets from Garder's forces circled from a distance, remaining at a safe place to make their next plan. Lilian quickly ordered her team to stop attacking. No use in wasting gunfire.
"This is different from usual…" Lilian thought as she wiped the sweat from her forehead. "These guys are planning out things a lot better than I would've thought. They already took out one of my ships. One of the jets stormed forwards, coming towards her own. She spread her wings and along with the turrets fired relentlessly at her enemy.
"Guh!" And the bullets and beams were avoided with perfect precision. The jet swarmed around with expert timing, dodging the attacks as it sped towards her ship. "Is it…trying to kamikaze!?" Lilian thought with a horrified gasp.
…"Oh fuck!" She cursed loudly. "Get out of the way everyone, brace for impact!"
*BOOM!*
At the last moment before it hit, something jumped out of the moving jet and then multi-tons of pure metal smashed into the walls of the vectors. It was like a semi-truck smashing into a very thin layer of paper. Even the Diclonius had limits to their abilities and a jet flying into them was well beyond their limit.
"Gah!" Lilian who had been close to the blast sight found herself on her legs and knees, using her vectors to protect he from the flying debris. Fire licked her ship and cast an ominous glow around her.
*Tak* *Tak **Tak*
Those heavy footsteps, a figured walked through the scorching wind and stood before her about 20 meters away.
Despite the flames, there was a horrifyingly cold sweat running down Lilian's face.
"…Garder…"
She muttered the name of the man before her with her heart shivering.
Two people were in a lonely hotel room that they had gotten by a combination of hiding their horns and paying a little bit more money than usual just in case someone found out about them.
"It's been a long day, and it'll be even longer tomorrow." Victoria answered with a blush across her face and nudging her body up against Julius. The male Diclonius did not express the emotions of lust but that did not mean he did not share them. With both of them on the bed together, he caressed with her a truly loving touch.
"Yes…" Such a simple response. But after this long day of keeping watch over that place. The place they would have to infiltrate soon, being alone in a room with her lover was more than what Victoria could ask for.
Julius relaxed himself and knowing his taste, Victoria took control, kissing him. He was surprisingly the kind of person who enjoyed it more when his partner took the initiative when it came to their intimate relationship.
"I'm going to contact the others later tonight. They'll want an update on our mission." The male Diclonius replied, taking the girl and pressed her head against his head. She snuggled up against him, rubbing her face against his chest as she stroked his hair between her fingers.
"That's good. We'll have to do that. Also small talk like that isn't really romantic." Victoria replied with seductive grin on her face. The kind of look that would make men's hearts melt in her hands. But the woman also noticed that Julius was somewhat uncomfortable. She had noticed this kind of look on his face for the past five years, that kind of look that was regret. She knew exactly what he was acting like that.
"Julius…" Spoke his name softly. "I know its hard for you but your strong and you'll overcome it. You made the right choice and I'll always be there for you."
Juliua Javel was in the past the number one informant under Director Morotisan. He, the male Diclonius had respected the Director. One could say that in the end, Garder was the first thing he could truly call a friend or even a father figure. Long ago he had been like all the other Diclonius, spiteful until he met that man.
But Julius made a vow that in the end he would protect the woman he loved. He would fight against Garder's world so that his girl could live peacefully. He was a member of the dark side of the world, a former member of the criminal gang known as Cents lead by the world's most sadistic madman.
The Second Cent, Zero Point.
The man stroked his lovely girls' hair and breathed her scent. The woman smiled up at him and pushed herself away. She got back up from the bed. That look she gave him was the kind of look men would die to have seen. Julius never once changed his expression but everything could be read in his body movements and his tone.
"You're going to tease me?" He asked.
"Well it's not like this is our first time." Victoria replied as she stood where she was.
Julius, putting his shirt and vest back on, traced his finger across the smooth skin of the half-naked girl on the bed, her head resting gently on the pillow. She snored lightly and her leg twitched ever so slightly but she did not break away from her slumber. It was not dark outside but the sun had begun to set, setting an orange glow across the sky.
He could not or perhaps did not know how to express his emotions through tone or expressions. But he loved this woman more than any other person in the world. She was his new life in the world and to protect her, he would do anything. Victoria was a competent woman, powerful in her own right who had been with him ever since he found her trapped along with the other Diclonius in Kakuzawa's lab.
He had been sent there by Director Morotisan to gather information, the only male stuck in the stream of females. Of course he didn't care about such a thing. But there she was, so similar to himself that it may have been ironic fate that they got together.
He stroked her warm cheek and then closed the door behind him.
But there was something else he had to do.
"Sorry Victoria, I have to do this alone. I do not want to see you get hurt."
And as the sun began to set, he made his way to the building of Anti-Diclonius Weapon information and began his assault.
Director Kakuzawa and Queen Kaede stood in front of one another with such cold silence that one could hear a pin drop. They had given their introductions and now it looked like they were trying to stare the other down into submission. Kaede would've loved to have given a few words of her own mind and the only thing she was glad about was that the old man had finally stopped screaming. Well of course he had blistered his own throat with his antics over five years ago when he nearly destroyed the world.
But it was Kakuzawa who turned his head when he saw a young black hair girl in the crowd. One of about only two people there that was not disgusted that he was there.
"Anna…" Kakuzawa replied to the girl.
"Father…"
The second person who did not feel disgraced by him was another member of his family. Young Routa had run up to the man, tugging on the edges of his jeans while looking curiously up at him.
"What are you doing here Papa?" He asked as Kaede made a way to step up in front of him. That was right, this man was Routa's father after he had captured and raped her own mother. She had a strong feeling that if it wasn't for the device implanted in his forehead, Routa would not have had that smile on his face.
But Kakuzawa surprisingly in an almost father manner, rubbed the boy's head who smiled childishly. He also turned back to Anna.
"What have you been doing here Anna?" His words were not one of demand but merely a question of curiosity sakes.
"I'm a teacher now." Anna answered her father, explaining how she was teaching the young Diclonius how to control their abilities and internal voices. Kaede again was surprised to hear Kakuzawa praise Anna for the hard work she had done.
"I'm glad to hear that you've done well Anna." It was a clear compliment that made Anna's heart shine. But Kakuzawa had more pressing matters to attend to. He was here to help out the Diclonius as much as thought sickened him. That meant that his best options would be to work with the scientist on the ship.
"It's you…" He uttered when Carentorzulan and her group told him to come with them. She gave him a piercing stare that was like a spear to the heart. "Yeah don't worry, I haven't forgotten Kakuzawa and before you make the mistake my name is Carentorzulan Zeruda."
"That's right, the name I remember you by was Nirliniyana wasn't it?"
"Don't remind me." The Turkish Diclonius growled back bringing Kakuzawa to the lab. The old man was given cold looks as well in there, all of which he ignored.
"Give me the details people, what have you been up to?"
"We've been working on a way to suppress the biological urges of our voices to kill humans. But even now we've found it heavily difficult to achieve. What are your ideas…Kakuzawa." Caren answered back.
Kakuzawa was peering over the edge of desk, the man looking like he was smelling something bad while the old man peered at the screen before him. It was displaying several numbers and layers on him. "Move…" He ordered, telling the man to get out of his seat so that Kakuzawa could sit down. Under Caren's orders he did, allowing the elderly director to type away on the computer before him.
"You there…" He added to a woman at her desk. "Connect the subjections A through C to here now."
"Do it…" Caren stated. Whatever Kakuzawa was doing must've been important because he remained fixed on the screen, still typing away on the keyboard.
"Are you sure we should be letting him do this Caren-san?" Someone asked. "What if he tries to do something that would be harmful to us?"
"Get over yourself…" Kakuzawa responded back when heard the comment. "My life is currently under your lives right now. There is no reason for me to cause problems for all of you even though I would love to do so."
"Sure…and don't shorten my name either…" Caren responded and added with exasperation to her fellow worker.
Inside of Caren's head, her voice wanted to speak now.
"Huh? As you wish Alara…" The change in the mind happen.
"Did you find anything?" Alara questioned the man seriously, like a cop questioning the perpetrator.
"You've changed." Kakuzawa noticed the difference in the Diclonius before him.
"My name is Alara, I'm Carentorzulan's biological voice."
"I see, you know for someone trying to keep yourselves from killing humans, you're doing a surprisingly good job."
"I have had years to practice but not everyone does. Answer my question now."
Kakuzawa turned his chair around. "I have found nothing at this moment. I will need more time to gather information. The only thing I can say is that if you want to get rid of that urge that bounds you to kill humans at times. We will most likely have to do something that will affect the pineal gland of your brain."
"Then get working on it…"
"Calm down brat…" Kakuzawa uttered, making Alara raise her eyebrow. "You seem to be forgetting something. The pineal gland controls your vectors, messing with that will undoubtedly mess that up as well."
"So what?" Alara said. "Our vectors may be our pride and joy as Diclonius but without those we wouldn't have this problem in the first place. We could finally live as normal humans."
"There is more though. If we remove the pineal gland in your brain, you will indeed have your vectors removed. This was a similar operation that was done to my son that you call Routa and the clones of Dr. Nousou. But that is only a partial option that doesn't change the overall outcome. If you remove the entire pineal gland of the Diclonius you as voices will cease to exist and you will become brain dead."
!
Alara stifled as gasp. Caren resting inside of her own mind felt Alara tense up at the thought.
"Therefore, we must find a way to directly effect the pineal gland and destroy that desire of your biology without destroying the gland." Kakuzawa ended his words by rising up from his seat and leaving the room.
"Wh-Where are you going now?"
"Outside, I need to walk around a bit. It'll be good for me to get to know the locations around here in case I need something."
"Don't get a head of yourself idiot! Your job is to help us out so sit back down and do your work."
Kakuzawa sighed.
"I am doing my work. But I have done all that I can and frankly all that I'm going to do right now here. I need some time to think for myself and plan my next action. If you have such a problem with me walking around the place, feel free to stop me. You have the power to do so but that doesn't mean I'll be doing anything if you do. Threats don't matter to me either. So unless have something important to say…shut your mouth."
!
Alara looked like she had been slapped while Kakuzawa walked outside.
"…You know Carentorzulan. I know I need to control myself but you wouldn't mind if I killed at least one human on here?"
"We have to calm ourselves…" Caren answered her voice inside of her head. "He's the only thing we have left that could save us. But don't worry my friend, I agree wholeheartedly with you."
