Some Irish for you: Uncail: Uncle)

Three weeks had passed by slowly and Kevin had not returned since he ran off on his motorcycle. Edden kept picturing his face of shock, horror, and anger all mixed together as he ran clutching his phone tightly in his hand. She expected to see him the next day or even the next week but four had passed each one more agonizingly longer than the last. Edden would unconsciously find herself staring out the window across the street to her red headed neighbor's house, she would see him from time to time coming out of his house with bandages and an empty expression she would not dare go near him though. He seemed to forget the world around him.

Edden worried that Kevin would fall behind in his studies, she worried about the bruises and cuts on his person she worried so much that she started pacing back and forth in her living room and got distracted in class often. Before she realized half the day came and passed and it was lunch time. Edden met up with her friends and walked with them to a table outside, they tried talking to her but she was far gone in her thoughts that their voices sounded like muffled sounds. When they reached an empty table Edden pulled out her lunch from her bag and organized it, she made herself a tuna sandwich with lettuce and tomato, a small bag of lays, and a water bottle. She stared at it her stomach churning, then pushed it aside not feeling very hungry.

"Don't worry Double Dee Kevin is fine! Honest!" Ed petted her head, causing her beanie to slide a little to the left, with a worried expression. She sighed while straightening her hat then dropping her head on her arms over the table. She groaned she never realized how infatuated she was with him that all this time she never stopped caring for him not really anyway. She pushed the thought away she always believed she would never come back to the cul-de-sac and here she was repeating history.

Eddy watched her as she raised her head she got more and more frustrated at herself. Her expression became intense and she seemed like she was about to cry. It ticked Eddy off how much Kevin meant to her even though he was an ass. Eddy would never accept Kevin not as a friend and defiantly not for Edden. There were better guys out there for her guys who knew her better and who wouldn't turn their backs on her. He thought of himself as one of those guys.

"I don't see why it matters?! Just forget about it." He bit into his sandwich aggressively not really caring he just wanted her to stop giving two craps about Kevin.

"Look you need to eat sock head you can worry about shovel-chin…..well never! Just forget about him did you forget how he treated us?" Eddy looked exasperated his eyes wide open and his mouth chewing away at his meal. Edden shuddered at the masticated food he was exhibiting to everyone around who could see.

"Correction Eddy how he treated you and Ed if you remember correctly I was excluded from those beatings" Edden grabbed the bottle and rotated it in her hand remembering how Kevin would lift her up on his shoulder and dropped her on her bum on the grass a bit away from the other two. He never went as far as name calling she thought the worst he did was ignore her at school or let the cheerleaders have their way with her when he could have stopped it. However that was in the past.

"You're seriously telling me that you forgive him even after what he and those cheerleaders did!?" Again with the raising of his voice Edden wanted to right hook him in the face. She was getting tired of him making decisions for her deciding what was good for her.

"Enough Eddy! What happened back then is in the past. What occurred then is between Kevin and me!" Edden had risen at some point and was glaring down at Eddy. He scuffed glaring back at Edden, he stuffed his hands in his pocket and started to walk away.

He turned slightly and said "Yea sorry for trying to worry bout my best friend." Then walked away. She watched as the big Ed went and followed Eddy leaving her alone. No this isn't what she wanted, this isn't how it's supposed to go. For a small measure of time she wished she was back in LA.

Kevin laid on his bed exhausted, he was sore from all the chores he had to do and from taking care of his mother's every need including caring her princess style to her room every time she collapsed. He knew it was going to be this hard introducing a new nurse to his mother; it was always this hard to integrate changes to his mother's environment. He couldn't leave her alone until she grew accustomed to it.

"You finally going to take ah break are ya Kevin lad?" Kevin turned to his side facing the door. A big burly red haired man was leaning on the door frame his buff arms wrapped around his chest and dark circles, prominent on his pale skin, framed his eyes from lack of sleep.

"I could say the same Uncail you look exhausted yourself. Ma asleep?" Kevin patted the spot next to him on his bed and sat up. His Uncle came forward and threw himself on the bed next to his nephew letting out a very heavy sigh as he wiped his face with his left hand.

"Ye lad she's restin. She's gotten better hasn't she….she hated anyone near her but you and now she'd be callin out to me fer company." He raised, his shoulders slump but a smile crossed his face as he turned to look at Kevin.

"Lad I haven't forgotten you not fer a moment. You need to go back to school, I can take care of the lass and you could use normal. You could use some teen romance and the sort." He patted Kevin's back, Kevin chuckled he couldn't help but smile. His uncle took that as an opportunity to suffocate him in a bone crushing hug.

" 'Sides how are you going to get stronger than me by sitten here boy!" He slide Kevin into a sleepers hold and ruffled his hair into an utter mess.

"UNCAIL! Come on man!" Kevin laughed trying to slip out of his uncle's grasp, for the first time in a while he felt his heart lighten and that he was going to be able to get a good night's sleep.

Another day and no Kevin and no friends either. Eddy and Ed had avoided her all day it seems making her feel even guiltier about the things she said. She made a note to go over later to Eddy's place and apologize. For now she had to concentrate on getting home, she had stayed after class to finish up her homework and get some studying done. She got too distracted at home. Edden stood up fixing her white colored shirt making sure it was tucked into her black shorts and that her black thin tie was straight.

Distracted she didn't hear someone come into the classroom until that person dropped their sports bag to the floor making Edden jump and squeak out loud.

"How can you be beautiful and cute at the same time?" Andrew leaned forward using the desk for support, he smelled strongly of sweat and was covered in dirt. This wasn't the first time he made such advances but she was usually never alone.

"How may I help you Andrew?" She took a step back from him after reaching for her bag, trying to not meet him eye to eye.

"I told you to call me Andy sweet cheeks." He came across the desk pining Edden against a wall corner using his body. Edden could smell the sliver of alcohol in his breathe and wondered how he even attained it on school grounds.

"I would rather not Andrew, calling you that would implicate that we are friends and I would say our relationship is a less than acquaintances." She tried walking past him but he slammed his fist using his arm to block her only exit. She jumped at the sound turning herself so her back was to the wall and her glare meet his look of triumph.

"You know the resisting was cute at first but now it's getting annoying sweet cheeks" He used his other hand to run his fingers in Edden's silky black hair, curling it around his finger at the end. Edden shifted her feet so she could knee him in his privates when she heard someone call out.

"Andy dear mind stepping away from our little dork before we break that finger you got tangled in her hair" Edden stood on tiptoes to see over Andrew's shoulder and saw Nazz in her red heeled shoes tapping at the floor as her manicured hands laid on her waist. Behind her stood Lee leaning on her sister May and Marie walking up to stand by her girlfriend hands in her short's pockets with a smile on her face.

"You remember don't cha? Cul-de-sac kids are off limits ass hat so fuck off unless you want to answer to your red headed captain" Marie came close stopping right beside them as she talked. She saw the furry in Andrews's eyes but then he smiled and shrugged. He quickly pulled Edden close and whispered in her ear 'until next time' and walked away with a devious smile stretching across his face giving Edden Goosebumps.

"You alright dork?" Edden stared after Andrew rubbing her right arm where he had grabbed her. "Hey dork?" Marie patted her shoulder making Edden gasp and jump aside.

"Oh what, yes forgive me I am alright he didn't do a thing….just annoy me." Edden chuckled nervously.

"Has he been bothering you often kid?" Lee walked over a worried look on her face, Edden thought it was a miracle she could see her face at all with all those curls hanging from her head.

"No its fine don't worry nothing I can't handle" she didn't like to cause anyone trouble or give them reason to worry it was lucky they were here in the first place…why were they here?

"I don't mean to pry ladies but why are you here?" Edden questioned the girls who were already walking out of the classroom, May motioning her to follow them.

"Well other than save your skin we had cheerleading practice and a meeting." May sang joyfully to her skipping as she went down the hall.

"Oh um thank you very much for doing so…you are all in Cheerleading together?" Edden couldn't believe it she figured Nazz and May would be part of it but Lee and Marie was a different story all together. She supposed her puzzlement was present on her face because the girls giggled and Marie threw her arm around Edden's shoulders.

"Scholarship dude its good money a workout and well for me more time with my blondie what's the downside?" Marie laughed pulling Nazz into a bear hug giving her kisses all over her face. Edden couldn't help but smile at the girls.

"Try early morning work outs, locker rooms, and fundraising." Lee sighed heavily shaking her head.

"FUNDRAISING! It totally reminds me dude I need a huge favor from you Double Dee!" Nazz stepped in front of Edden her hands held together in a pleading motion. Edden only nodded in response surprised at the sudden change in conversation.

"Tomorrow we have a cheer thing for fundraising so I won't be available to take Kevin his homework and notes so could you do me the huge favor of taking it to him?" Edden blinked before considering what she had just asked her.

"You have the same classes?" Edden was curious for the answer. She was also trying to conceal her utter delight at finally having an excuse to see Kevin, after all this time.

"Naw but the teachers prepare this for him and I figured that you're super smart and everything, you could help him with whatever he needs if he has a question. So please?" She grabbed onto Edden's hands.

"Think of it as repayment for today." May commented. Edden didn't see why not it was purely for educational purposes that alone is reason enough. Even if she was not aware of an answer she could work it out with him and use the books for reference.

"A-agreed I shall assist you." By then they had reached the front of the school and where walking down the front steps. They turned heading over to the student and faculty parking lot where Nazz had her car parked near the open gate.

"Awesome dude! Well just ask Ms. Cho after school she's Kevin's advisor. She will give you all you need." She was digging through her purse and yelled an 'Aha!' when she found her keys. She pushed a button making her car beep and the doors unlocked.

"Well we have a prior engagement or we would drive you home dork so later" Lee waved at her pushing her sister May into the back seat of the car. She then remembered what Nazz had told Andrew about the cul-de-sac kids.

"Wait Nazz what did you mean when you told Andrew cul-de-sac kids are off limits?" She shouted to the girls. Marie chuckled and entered the passenger seat of Nazz's car and just before Nazz got in to the driver's seat she smiled softly and pushed her hair back. She looked like she was remembering something fondly.

"I think that is something you will have to ask Kevin honey" She got in and drove away. Edden stood there motionless watching the red car slowly disappear. Edden made a note to get her license. She never tried because LA was too dangerous a place to learn and she always had a driver take her everywhere. She sighed a smile spreading across her face, way too giddy Edden began to run home, hoping to release some of this energy she had accumulated. She was curious to know what his house would look like, or even his room. She only knew what Ed's room or even Eddy's-.

Like a stone it hit her that she was here jumping for joy when she had to go and apologize to her friend. Edden was worried that he would be angry at her for doing this favor for Nazz to help Kevin so she decided to keep that tidbit to herself.

She finally reached her neighborhood and slowed her walk, she was worried the guys would not forgive her or they wouldn't even let her in the house to apologize tonight. When Eddy was angry he tend to avoid the situation entirely until she would give in to his wish. Edden got into a lot of messes that way, but this time she wasn't sure if she could give up being friends with Kevin. She didn't see what was wrong about being his friend. Lost in her mind she crashed into someone hard knocking her to the floor. She opened her eyes and followed the black leather combat boots and dark grey ripped skinny jeans up to see a wide eyed Kevin standing before her. She looked at him her own eyes wide noticing the way the dark purple, green paint splatter T-shirt made his green eyes and flaming red hair pop out more.

"E-Edd?! Geez I'm so sorry here" Kevin outstretched his hand to hers and she looked down at it before grabbing it with her own hand. He pulled her up with ease, so much that he pulled her forward and she crashed into his chest hitting her nose in the process. She felt her cheeks warm up before hopping back rubbing her nose with her fingers.

"Shit sorry Edd I've been a bit off lately." Kevin walked closer moving her hands to check her nose lightly tapping it with a finger, making Edden blush harder. He chuckled as he removed his cap and pushed his hair back before returning it to its place.

"L-language Kevin, it's quite alright no harm done" She reached up to her beanie straightening it before looking back at him with a small smile.

"How are you Kevin it has been awhile?" She tried hiding her nervousness making sure it didn't show in her voice. She fidgeted from one side to the other as she played with her back pack strap.

"Fine I guess I was just about to go run some errands wanna come?" She perked up about to agree but remembered that she had to apologize to Eddy, she decided to reject his invitation.

"Forgive me truly Kevin however I have a prior engagement that I must attend to although I would love to join you." She said hoping he couldn't hear her disappointment.

"Probably countless amount of homework too huh?" Kevin smiled at her sliding his hands into his pockets.

"Quite right, speaking of homework, I shall be delivering your studies to your abode tomorrow after school I hope that is not an inconvenience." Edden smiled at him nervously.

"Whoa seriously!?" Edden nodded her head at him "That's great but um do you mind if we do it at your place I'll cook you whatever you want to eat."

She was a little disappointed but decided not to ask why and agreed instead. She waved goodbye and he headed towards town for his errands. She headed towards Eddy's house ready to ask for forgiveness. She really hoped Eddy didn't slam the door in her face.
