Edden closed the door to her house, breathless she raised her fingers to her beanie it was damp from the snow. She lowered her hand to stare at her pale thin fingers, they shined from the dampness. At some point it started to snow, Edden never noticed until she started to shiver in Kevin's arms. He chuckled at her shivering.

She felt her lips curl up into a smile at remembering the sound, at remembering the feel of his lips. She was in such a daze after the kiss she almost didn't hear Kevin speak to her:

"Want me to go with you to talk to Eddy?" Kevin still had his arms wrapped around her rubbing circles on the small of her back. It helped keep her warm.

"No…, thank you though, but I can handle him I'll be fine. Besides you two would only get into a fight and I just want to talk" She said breathless a little disappointed as she laid her head on his chest, Kevin laughed, lowering his head to kiss the top of Edden's head holding her closer. He would respect her decisions she knew that. Kevin sighed stroking Edd's cheek lowering his fingers to her chin making her look at him

"Edden…" He whispered pushing a loose strand behind her ear. "I've always wanted to do that" He looked at her fondly.

"Do what, push a girl's hair behind her ear? I'm positive you have done that with other girls." Edden pouted at the thought of Kevin with another girl.

"It's different when you do it with a girl you've liked for a long time…Edden…be my girlfriend." She looked at him her eyes wide. She kissed him yes but she didn't really think about what's next. She didn't deserve a guy like him the kind of man he's turned into now and she wasn't exactly popular. Wouldn't it cause problems? Wouldn't his popularity go down?

"You better get inside you'll catch a cold. You can answer me when you're ready. I'll text you later." She nodded slowly unsure as to why her brain wasn't working properly, she looked up and stood on her toes giving him a peck on his cheek without stopping she turned and ran inside as he watched in shock.

Her smile faded, she could handle Eddy on her own she needed to get this over with, and would rather not spoil what had happened between her and Kevin by confronting Eddy. Besides he was her best friend he had to understand her feelings even if just a little. Times change and people change with them she saw Kevin in a new light, it was plainly obvious that he was different and maybe just maybe they could get along.

Edden looked up only to see Eddy walking to the kitchen sink, glaring fiercely at the inside of the pot. His hands were covered in sauce, she immediately turned to the table and saw the plates were gone, she turned back to Eddy who was dumping the contents of the pot into the sink. He reached over and turned the knob to let the water run. She sucked in air raising her hands to her mouth, her eyebrows forwarding in anger.

"EDDY!" She ran towards him trying to save the meal Kevin so fondly made for her. She had the image of Kevin smiling as he cut up the vegetables, answering all her inquiries imprinted in her mind. She pulled at his arms, the memory giving her strength, but he was too strong and didn't budge, she didn't stop pulling until Eddy pushed her away with his elbow making her stumble back. Her eyes started to fill with tears and she made one last attempt to stop him. Mustering all her will to make her voice steady as she could.

"Eddy I implore you to STOP!" Nothing. Rage filled her and she squatted and kicked Eddy behind his knees making him fall backward she rolled to the left and jumped up but it was too late everything was gone and ruined by water in the sink. She felt weak and sunk down to the floor tears flowing now down her cheeks.

"What the actual fuck Edd!" He sat up and saw Edden, her eyes shut tightly as tears leaked out. Her sobs stabbing at him repeatedly. She was crying so hard that her body quivered and her breathing became scarce. She didn't know how else to react.

"Edden come on don't cry it's just food" he soothed as he reached for her to embrace her both arms extended towards her.

"DO NOT TOUCH ME!" Edden pushed him away slapping his hands. Glaring furiously at him. "Y-you know of how my parents are always busy they have never cooked for me, not once, and we always order out s-s-so this this meal was something to me that you will never comprehend Eddy. Someone who likes ME actually took the time to make ME dinner AND YOU DESTROYED IT!" She sobbed out the last part trying hard to breath. She knew from the contents of the bag in which Kevin brought the items that he took great care and time in looking for the best ingredients. When she was with her two best friends all they ever did was order pizza or she would cook up something but never someone do the same for her.

"Why? Why him I'm always here aren't I? We were always together, I thought that I would be the one" Eddy sat defeated holding back the urge to cry to yell at her about the mistake she was, no is making. "I knew you always liked Kevin but after what happened after you left I thought that would change" his voice cracked in the end. "If I stayed in contact with you and never told you about him even when you asked I thought you would move on." He curled his hands into fist, they were shaking from anger; anger he wanted to direct at Kevin.

Edden didn't know how to respond she didn't know what to say. She could not hide her feelings she liked Kevin and Eddy was family and nothing was going to change that. She had to let Eddy understand that no matter how it hurt him.

"Kevin asked me to be his girlfriend" Eddy looked up in shock at her, his eyes wide filling with anger.

"You're not gunna—"

"I am going to say yes tomorrow" She interrupted not looking at him, she only looked up at the sink where the mess of pasta was probably pooling.

"Sock head don't…" He breathed out.

"I like him I really do please Eddy be ok with this I beg you, you are my best friend—"

"YOU AREN'T TO ME!" he yelled at her grabbing her shoulders "y-your much more than that to me" He sounded so weak, his voice cracking as he tightened his grip on her shoulders. All Edden could do was shake her head avoiding his eyes.

Eddy simply cursed he got up then left a loud slam echoed through the now empty house. Edden raised off the floor and began to wash the dirty dishes. Eddy had left pasta covered handprints all over from the table to the sink. She sighed and began to clean, the tears never stopping. The whole time she felt like dropping to the floor, she didn't have any strength. After cleaning the kitchen and table she headed up and showered.

She wasn't sure if the decision she made was right but she was willing to face the consequences. She let the water run down her frame feeling the heat warm her cold skin. She was already planning what to wear tomorrow all she wanted to do was keep her mind busy. Her eyes stung and she felt them start to bloat she would have to cover them with ice before going to sleep. She sluggishly washed her hair and body and watched the soap swirl down the drain. She stood in the shower for a little while letting the water warm her skin.

She reached the knob and turned it to turn off the water. Letting the water drip of her body onto the floor she reached for her bathrobe. She watched as the steam floated of what was visible of her neck, her face, and hair her white skin looked like it was glowing. Edden blushed. She shook her head letting her hair trickle down her covered shoulders. She remembered Kevin pushing it back behind her ear causing her blush to deepen.

After drying herself off she changed into black and white stripped night gown and headed downstairs. She opened the freezer and grabbed the ice pack and headed back upstairs. Edden prepared everything for school the next day. She connected her charger to her phone and placed it next to her bed as tired as she was she couldn't sleep. So she opened her phone and sent a text.

Eddy slammed the door to his house getting an earful from his mom afterwards. He paced back and forth in his room only to trip on his dirty clothes. He landed face first onto the ground groaning in the process. He lay there for a couple of seconds then rolled over onto his back. He lay there staring at the ceiling all that came to mind was sock head in tears. It hit him that he was just rejected but it didn't feel real he didn't feel rejected. He sluggishly crawled to his desk and pulled out a drawer, in it was a false bottom to it he slid it and under it was an old photo. It was a picture of Edden she wore a two piece bathing suit under a white T-shirt and shorts that Eddy made her wear. Her breast started to grow in and at that point she had larger breast than anyone in the cul-de-sac, she still does but she was very self-conscious back then and Eddy didn't want anyone to see her but when she got wet her white T-shirt became see through. Edden hadn't noticed so Eddy took that opportunity to take a picture of her.

She was smiling so brightly she looked sexy and cute at the same time it was the Edden that only he knew and he wanted to keep it that way, but slowly again he was losing her. He suddenly remembered the fight he had with Lee at Edden's welcome back party

~ "What shrimp you think you can keep her all to yourself?" Lee said nudging at Eddy he had been watching Edden since they got there Nazz was dragging her all over. He scoffed at Lee who had parked her annoying rear next to him.

"I mean I'm sure you noticed it right? The looks?" Lee commented pointing at Edden who, since the moment she arrived, had been searching the room for Kevin who was also keeping a look out for Edden. It was painful to watch and it ticked him off even more that Lee noticed.

"It's like those two spark and a fire is born and you kept them both in the dark about each other for 3 years Eddy that's fucking warped. Yet here they are looking for each other and you? You—"

"What the fuck do you want Lee? Why the hell do you care!?" Eddy cut her off.

"I fucken care because those two are meant for each other and I'm in love with you. God knows why but I am and you need to let go of Edden you need to tell the truth about what you did and you need to move on" Lee pushed of the wall she was leaning on and walked off towards Edden. Eddy sighed and followed behind her extremely annoyed. ~

Well fuck that he wasn't going to move on and he definitely wasn't going to tell the truth. No he was going to separate those two just like he did 3 years ago. Eddy only wanted Edden and he wasn't the little wimp he was before he would do anything to get her back on his side. He replaced the photo and threw himself into bed let himself drift off to sleep.

Kevin got home giddy about what happened. He did it he really did it! He had asked her to be his girlfriend...he kissed her...those lips that tantalized him since he could remember. They were soft and sweet, Kevin flushed there was probably a huge grin on his face he couldn't really tell. He was too distracted. Kevin began to stumble to his room trying not to make noise he didn't want to wake his mother she must have been tired. Kevin sighed he really didn't feel like doing anything but go to his room and text Edden. He grabbed onto the rail of the stairs and tiptoed up one step at a time.

BAM! Kevin jolted forward letting out a muffled groan as he used the stairs to stabilize himself. His eyes wide he flipped over and saw his uncle standing there a huge smile on his face. His uncle lifted a hand to cover his mouth with a finger shushing him. Kevin tried to control his breathing as he glared at him shaking a bit.

"scared ya stiff didn't I lad I'm sorry that wasn't fair te ya" He walked over to sit next to Kevin putting an arm around his shoulders.

"it's alright I just thought, you know, that ma had lost it again that's all.." Kevin let the last words slip out of his mouth he let his body go limp leaning into his big uncle. Using him for support.

"Aye Lad I know but she had a good day and is peacefully asleep you should learn ta relax and trust in your Uncail you're not alone." He gave Kevin a good shake before helping him up.

"Aye and ya can tell me all about your date tomorrow lad off te bed." He walked Kevin up to his room, closing the door behind him. He sluggishly took off his jeans and shirt throwing himself into bed in just his singlet and boxers, cell in his hands. He wondered if he should text her it was late and maybe Eddy was still there. That little ass ruined everything he wondered why the hell Edden hung out with the shorty. Kevin sighed he knew he'd have to put up with him whether he understood it or not he is Double D's best friend. He tossed and turned in his bed, he groaned as he flipped over jumping up when he heard his phone vibrate.

He looked at the screen squinting at the bright light. Once he saw Edden's name on the screen did he sit up and unlock his phone. Kevin had a photo of Edden at her welcome back party on the caller ID. He really liked the way she looked in the dress. He opened the message nervous of what he might read.

"I have one thing to state if this is a joke, if this is a farce Kevin Barr I want you to never come near me again. I will never forgive you if you play me once more BUT if this is true then ask me the same question tomorrow and I'll give you my answer." Kevin sat there staring at his phone he never played her not once but Edden didn't know that she still blamed him for what happened in middle school. He didn't blame her but things were different now he could protect her now he would protect her no matter what.

He clicked on the reply button and sent a simple "I understand, Good night" She would have his answer as he would have his. Suddenly Kevin felt exhausted. He let himself go limp and slowly fall asleep.
