Chapter 12 is here, yay!

So in the last chapter, Lily pulled out a certain scale off of the Fire Drake's back and made something happened.

Luckily, there is someone that can explain to her what happened. And more importantly, there were things that happened when Lily was unconscious and she has to prepare for her army of dragons because there is going to be a battle between Elves, Dwarves, Humans and Orcs.

So here we go!

Chapter 12: The Battle Begins

Darkness.

That was all that Lily could see.

But she could hear the voices going on while she was in her unconscious state and she starts to struggle to regain her conscious back once more and she could feel something covering her body.

She then starts to flutter her eyes open, and she saw many Terrible Terrors, very small dragons but they were just as dangerous as a large dragon. They all seemed to stare at her with wide pupils, chirping and hurring happily that their dragoness alpha regain conscious. She slowly sat up, groaning from the pain all over her body from the fall she had-

Wait.

What happened?

She looks down at one of the Terrible Terrors. "Where is Vordoom? Can you lead me to him?" Lily asked one of the small dragons. "Of course, Dragon Empress. Follow us." One dragon smiled. Then they got off of her so that she could stand up on her own. She slowly sat up, groaning of how sore her body is. "Gods...I hit pretty hard against that mountain." Lily mumbled to herself, following the small dragons to the large Ice Dragon.

She managed to see him, but there were a few more people over there and one she smiled with relief to. "Gandalf..."

He saw her, who was pretty injured, but some of the dragons were healing him. He smiled with relief, seeing her fine as well. She walked over to the grey wizard and gave him a hug, but being gentle because he was still healing. "Oh, I'm so glad you're okay." Lily said. That made the wizard chuckle, tightening the hug. "I was more worried about you than I was about myself. You were hurt pretty badly when the water dragons brought you here to the Sanctuary."

Lily then remembered her question. "Gandalf...what happened to Smaug?"

"I believe I can answer your question, Dragoness Alpha."

Lily looks over to see the white wizard, remembering him vaguely in Rivendell. "Lilian, this is Saroman the white, one of the three wizards that still exist." Gandalf introduced and Lily bowed to him in respect. "You said that you know what happened to Smaug?" She asked and he nods. "Yes. Did you happen to see a certain item upon the Fire Drake while in Erebor?"

Lily then remembers the scale. "Well...yes...it...it was a scale...it stood out from all of the scales and it had an eye marking on it. When I spotted it, it seemed to panicked." Lily said. Saroman then brought out a book and opens to a page. "Is it this scale here?" Lily looks and saw the exact replica of the scale in the book. "Yeah, that is it."

"That is known as Sauron's Scale."

Lily looks over to see Radagast the Brown, including lord Elrond, who was dressed in golden armor and looks like he was still healing from battle. "...Sauron's Scale?" She asked and Saroman nods. "Yes...it is know to have the dark lord's power within that one scale. Any animal that it lands upon, becomes into his control." He said and Lily's eyes widen in realization.

"...so it landed on Smaug..."

"The scale made him destroy Dale and taken the kingdom of the dwarves. The scale is invisible to the human eye, but to a dragon, it is very visible." He said, Vordoom nodding. "...then where is Smaug?"

"Why do you not ask him yourself?" Vordoom said gently, slowly turning his head a direction and Lily looks over at the source and gasped silently. Because standing and walking towards her...

...was Smaug himself.

But he seem so calm though, not angry or in rage to destroy Lake Town when he wanted to. He was growling softly, walking towards her and Lily was wanting to back up from the dragon, but Gandalf reassured her by patting her shoulder. Lily looks at the dragon when he stopped in front of her, his expression still calm as he stared down at her, growling softly, but not in a threatening way.

Lily slowly reached his hand out to him and he looks at her hand, growling softly. He starts to catch her scent through his large nostrils. She still seemed scared of the large dragon, but that all changed when she suddenly feel the large snout pressed against her hand.

"...what happened?" Lily asked, looking over at Gandalf.

"When you pulled out the scale off of Smaug, you pulled out the powers that were possessing him and into his normal state. Unfortunately...Lake Town has not survive a dangerous threat." Saroman said and Lily looks at him shocked, Smaug still 'purring' in his own way by kept pressing his snout against her cheek very gently. "But Smaug-"

"Yes, you did stop Smaug from destroying Lake Town...but a legion of orcs, were trying to go to the Lonely Mountain and claim the dragon to use in the dark lord's army. And they were searching for the dwarves as well. Lake Town has been destroyed by Azog and Bolg. They also had a third leader, Gemron. But Bard, killed him with the black arrow and is now King of Dale, like his ancestor."

"And the Master of Lake Town?" Lily asked.

"Crushed to death by a collapsing building from Lake Town. He was trying to escape with his riches with his assistant, Alfrid. But the Master of Lake Town did not survive when the building collapsed and crushed him to death. Alfrid, however, remains alive. But some of the people of Lake Town saw Bard kill the orc and announced him as their King of Dale, where they are now taking refuge...but things are now about to change."

Lily looks at him, still petting Smaug as she scratched underneath his chin, earning a blissful look on his face, purring.

"...a war is going to happen. Between Elves, Dwarves, humans and Orcs." Radagast said gravely and Lily's eyes widen with shock and horror. "W-We got to stop them!" Lily said, panicking a bit. "I know, Dragon Empress...but we cannot go there without thinking through. They are all after one thing; the treasure of Erebor. Mostly the humans and the Elves. The Orcs are here to kill the King of Erebor." Gandalf said and Lily looks at them, then at Smaug who tilted his head at her.

They left her alone to do her thinking, Vordoom and Smaug with the alpha. "...I don't know what to do..." Lily said, sitting on the ground. Smaug looks at her, growling softly. "...I don't want my father killed...or worse, Thorin and everyone to get killed." Lily choked, clenching her eyes shut as tears ran down her cheeks. Smaug looks over at the large ice dragon, but he just merely shook his head and sighed sadly of the despair of the dragon empress.

Smaug slowly walked up to her, not knowing what to do. His memory is still fuzzy from all of the black outs he had when the scale landed on him when he was just a juvenile dragon. He then remembered something and hopefully, it would work for her as well.

Lily felt gentle sniffs and snuffles against the back of her head, feeling the scaly snout being pressed softly and gently against her cheek and head. The large fire drake continued to nudge the mortal girl, hoping that this would work when his mother did this for him when he was just a hatchling. He then laid down beside her, keeping her gently in his clawed hands. Lily looks up at him, tears shone in her eyes, some of them running down her cheeks.

Smaug just dipped his head down, gently placing his chin on her lap and sighed. Lily pets his muzzle of his snout, earning a soft and quiet purr from him. Lily smiled sadly. "...who would have thought...that deep down, you care..."

Smaug cracked one eye open at here, his golden fire gaze still within him. "...you were the one that contacted me that day...in Mirkwood...you were calling from help."

"...yes..."

Lily tried her best to hug him around his snout and her jerked just a tad bit, but not as much to get out of her embrace. "...you were suffering for so many years...I wish I had known sooner..." She whispered.

"You were still learning...what has happened is not your fault..." Smaug simply replied. Lily sighs, resting her cheek on the dragon's snout, hearing his large breathing. He could still feel some of the dragoness alpha tears landing on his armored skin. So the only thing he could do is scoot closer, curling his tail around her and starts to purr, which he hardly do for anyone...but she is the dragoness alpha and he needs her to be comfortable. After all, she did save him.

"Smaug, I don't know what to do..." Lily choked.

"...what does your heart want you to do?" He asked and Lily looks at him, wiping her face to get rid of the tears. He looks at her as she looks up at the ice-like ceiling, some dragons flying above her head. "...I..." Smaug looks at her, waiting for her to answer his question.

"...I want to help Thorin..."

"...what else?"

"...and stop Azog from destroying Middle Earth...and be with my father...but I really want to help Thorin...not letting the sickness destroy him..."

"...then we should go to Erebor...and make sure that no orc stands in our way. After all..." Smaug stood up, making Lily look up at him and his armored like scales shone from the sunlight, his golden fire eyes having that spark that has a saying that he is ready to battle. "We are the most powerful beings that walked these lands...and the orcs cannot save themselves from the fires of our kind." Smaug roared, making the other dragons roar with him.

Lily looks at Vordoom. "You decide on what we should do, young alpha. You are leading us." He said and Lily stood up, the dragons looking down at her. "...to this day...no one really understood the dragon ways; on how we fight, how we survive, and how we protect each other. Azog and his kind killed our kind for far too long!" She said, walking over to them, some of the dragons roaring.

"And we will let them know that we, we are not to be mess with!"

More dragons roared.

"Now we need to show them, what it MEANS...TO BE A DRAGON! Who is with me!?"

All of the dragons roared with excitement and anticipation; all praised and pumped up by her words. "Then armor up; we are going to war!" She shouted, having a hold of her staff and the dragons roared.

"Will you need assistance, my lady?" She looks over to see Radagast and Gandalf, along with the lord of the eagles. "We need to get to Erebor, and stop Azog once and for all." She said. Gandalf nods as Radagast got on the Lord of the eagles, the dragons armoring up with their metal battle armor that they have kept for so many years thanks to Lily's grandfather.

Lily saw Smaug walking up to her, looking down at her and then she spotted his penetrated spot upon his upper left chest. "Smaug, kneel down for me..." She said and Smaug did as she commanded. "Demon, I need your help with this." She said and Demon ran over to her. He then noticed the spot and then nods at Lily, understanding of what he wants her to do.

She grabbed his clawed hand and they both started to whisper in dragon tongue, then so very slowly...the fire drake's wound was slowly healing until one of his scales has been reborn, looking brand new. Smaug seemed pleased with this as he was purring with satisfaction. And when Lily and Demon finished, there was a new scale that replaced the one mark that the black arrow left and Demon left, getting ready for battle.

"...I know this is much to ask of you, Smaug...but do you wish...to fight with us? Along by my side?" She asked. Smaug looks down at her, growling softly, his pupils still a bit slit.

"...You know what 'tame' means, do you?" He asked and Lily looks up at him, pondering of that question for a moment, then looks at him once more. "It's to establish ties, right?" She asked and Smaug nods. "Just that. To me, you are merely just a little human girl, who is just like a hundred thousand other girls. I do not need of humans, just like as you, do not need of me." He said and Lily was kinda a bit hurt of what he said-

"However..."

She looks up at him while he lowered his head down to near hers, his pupils somewhat a bit wide but they remain slit. "If you do tame me, then we will need each other." He said and Lily looks at him with astonishment, then slowly started to raise her hand up to him.

"To me, you shall be unique to the world. And to you, I'll shall be unique in all of the world."

He then closed his eyes, pressing his large, scaly snout against her hand. Lily blinks in surprise, feeling a warm feeling inside of her when she touched the large fire drake. It was something...something she couldn't subscribe with words. But it felt warm, and it made her happy on the inside.

It was a feeling she will never forget.

Smaug pulled away, looking at her; growling softly, then he went to get ready for battle. Lily smiled, then suddenly felt a nudge on her shoulder and she turned over to see Demon, smiling at her. Lily smiled and pets his head and he purred softly, leaning into the touch. "You felt it, didn't you?" Demon asked and Lily looks at him confused.

"It was the bond you made between yourself and the Fire Drake. It was just like between me and your grandfather, Kamon. That is a special bond between a human and a dragon; makes you two inseparable and fight as one." Demon smiled and Lily had her eyes wide with surprise. Demon just merely smiled and walked to get ready for battle, leaving Lily to her thoughts on what she had just learned.

"This way!"

Bard's children were running away from a small group of orcs, that were chasing them through the destroyed city of Dale, where all of the refuges of Lake Town take shelter at, but starts to fight when a small group of orcs decided to ambush all of the citizens, but they didn't know that they were armed to the teeth with every day items and weapons.

"Quick, over here!" Bain said, but then saw that it leads to a dead end and the children turns around, seeing the orcs cornering them. They were smirking, now having where they wanted them. Bain tried to be brave by putting his sisters behind him, trying to protect them while the orcs were getting closer and closer-

Something covered the children. Also, it made the orcs quiver and shriek in fear at whatever they were covering them. They heard battling, hissing and roars, and then...it all turned silent.

Bain was the first to look, then saw that all of the orcs that surrounded them were dead, spikes penetrated their heads and chests. Bain looks at who rescued them, then he stilled when he saw a blue and white winged dragon looking down at them. It hurred, it's pupils wide with concern as it backs away from the children, folding it's wings up on it's side while tilting it's head at them.

"Y-You're...you're not going to hurt us?" Tilda asked. The dragon smiled and shook it's head, then used one wing to point at the harnest it was wearing. It had something written in the middle, where a topaz jewel was in the harnest and Sigrid looks at it, seeing that it was human language.

Luna

"...is that your name? Luna?"

Luna nods, pleased that the children knows that she means no harm to the children. "...then...then you know where Da is?" Tilda asked and Luna nods once again, smiling. She lowered herself, her belly touching the ground while she lowered her head and looks at the children. She chirped and gestured to her back. At first, the children hesitated, but they did not want to run into anymore orcs.

Bain helped his sisters onto the dragon's back before climbing on himself. Luna stood, snorting and looks at the sky. She spreads her bat-like wings and took off gently, tucking her two feet in while she glides across the sky, searching for her mistress and their father.

00~00

"Bain! Sigrid!? Tilda!?"

Bard looks around for his children, after defeating one group of orcs so that he could look around the destroyed city of Dale. "Please, Mahal...let them be okay. I beg of you!" He thought-

"Bard..."

He turns around, holding the sword he has and then stops...seeing a cloaked woman that was armored up, having spiked armor shoulder blades, A staff held in one hand while the other hand held a sword that had a gem that looks like a dragon's eye, burning with fire and the handle had a long dragon worm circling around it, covered with gold and many of jewels on it's body and the eyes are gems of sapphire.

Bard looks at her...then he recognized the voice.

"...Lily?"

She took off her cloaked hoodie, smiling softly at him. "Hello, Bard. It's been a few months, hasn't it?" She asked, smiling softly, but then was really surprised when she was brought into an embrace by the bowman, now the King of Dale. Lily smiled sadly and hugged him just as tight. "...we heard that you crashed down into the lake with the dragon." Bard whispered, hardly believing that she was now alive.

"I did...and I just now woke up after months of healing...because I crashed against the side of the mountain near Dale." She chuckled nervously, letting Bard pull away to look at her. He brushed the bangs out of her eyes and she smiled. "What happened to you?"

"Well...Smaug didn't turn out as everyone thought he would be...he was already under the control of the dark lord from a scale he had created...any creature that the scale lands on, is in his control. It got to Smaug when he was just turned into an adult dragon. That's why he destroyed Dale, that's why he took Erebor from Thorin and his kind; it was Sauron was controlling his mind. To a human...it's invisible to the human eye...but to a dragon..."

"...it's clear as daylight." Bard said, now getting it and Lily nods.

"So...I got the scale off of him...he doesn't remember anything that happened." She said, earning a surprised and shock look from the bowman.

"So...he's...?"

She smiled a bit nervously and sheepishly. "Yeah...turns out that I had the magic touch..." Lily chuckled nervously. Just then, a small dragon came to her, panicking as it was talking to her in dragon tongue hysterically. "Calm down. Tell me what happen?" She asked, looking at it when it landed on her shoulder. Luna lands, letting the children off of her as they ran to Bard, who hugged them tightly.

"...Oh no..."

Bard looks at Lily, who was pale as a ghost, her eyes wide with horror of what the dragon told her. "Lily?"

"...they have a Mordonon." She whispered, the small dragon flying off. Bain looks at Lily "A what?"

"That is a lethal, tryant beast, eyes red as blood itself, with the skin white and pale like death. It is known to kill everything in it's path, killing for sport of every single kind in existence...including dragons. Azog somehow found one and is using it in his army of orcs. It has to be killed now...or all will be lost." She whispered, hearing the beast's roars in the distance.

"Y-You can kill it, right!?" Sigrid asked and Lily only sighs grievely.

"...I do not know..."

Thorin was glaring at Azog, who was smirking while the orcs were dragging something from behind, inside a large crate that was pierced by spears and many of weapons; something shaking and roaring inside of it. "You will die here today, dwarf. We have something that you do not have. And you will die in it's clutches." Azog chuckled, using his ball and chain to hit the crate, releasing what was inside of it.

Thorin stilled when he saw the Mordonon.

It's scales sickly white and pale, but the eyes burned with fire as it roared loudly at him, it's clawed-spear like hands tucked close to it's chest. It roared loudly again while Thorin kept looking at it, his eyes filled with shock and horror. How on earth did Azog have a hold of a Mordonon? It was known to be the dangerous creature of Middle Earth and his grandfather only faced the beast once and barely escaped with his life and now...

...he was face to face with it.

The Mordonon roared at him, now it's eyes locked on the dwarf, it's new prey. Thorin managed to dodge to the side when it released a jet stream of flames and it roared at him. "Thorin!" Fili and Kili yelled, the orcs having a hold of them both. Thorin was focused on the creature, not knowing that something took out the orcs silently, the flames still surrounding the beast and Thorin in one-to-one combat.

Just when the Mordonon was about to charge, it felt a presence nearby and hissed, baring it's teeth. Thorin looks around, trying to see what was the source it was looking at, but couldn't find none, even Bilbo, who managed to get to them and got Kili and Fili away from the orcs that were now dead. The pale beast hissed once more, trying to get the source of the presence to show itself.

"...Tell me...WRETCH."

The pale beast tensed at the deep and dark voice. Bilbo also tense, realizing who the voice belongs to.

"How now shall you challenge ME?" A clawed winged hand came out from the wall of fire, armor on it's skin while another clawed winged hand came out from the wall of fire. "You have NOTHING left..." Fiery golden red eyes showed within the flames, growling as armor cover it's body.

"But YOUR DEATH!"

Smaug roared, coming out of the wall of fire, charging towards the beast. His scales now covered with silver white armor that covered his upper body and lower body. Thorin thought that the large fire drake was charging at him, but then was shocked that he completely missed him, charging at the Mordonon, which it roared back while the two large beasts clashed each other, biting and clawing at each other.

Smaug roared, biting down on it's neck and the beast shook him off, roaring. It bit down on his neck and Smaug growled, biting his side with his razor sharp teeth, flapping his large wings to give him an advantage.

The beast roared and pushed against his side, pushing him to the ground. Smaug roared, trying to bite at him, but it kept him on the ground, biting on his neck and Smaug roared, trying to shake the pale beast off of him. Smaug was about to release a jet stream of flames at it, his chest glowing red but the pale beast pinned the side of his head to the ground, hissing.

Smaug roared at it while it was about to end the Fire Drake-

A chirped roar was heard.

The beast stops, looking up at the source.

Thorin and Bilbo looks at the source as well, another chirped roar heard.

A small black dragon, running on it's hind legs, it's arms tucked in while it crouched down while running, screeching at the beast.

Bilbo then noticed the mismatched eyes.

"Lily..."

Lily jumps on Smaug and then onto the beast's back. The Mordonon tried to bite at her, growling. But Lily was a step ahead, dodging it's teeth while digging her teeth and claws into it's back, making the pale beast roar out in pain.

Smaug roared, biting down on the beast's neck and rammed it to the side of the mountain, Lily jumping on Smaug's back to avoid large boulders that fell off the mountain side from the beast's impact. Smaug then grabbed the beast by it's neck with his teeth and threw him to the side while the Lily jumped off of Smaug and jumped onto the beast's face, shape-shifting to a small fire dragon.

Lily kept clawing and biting on it's face, her entire dragon body ignited with flames while Smaug rammed his head against the side of it's neck. The pale beast roared in pain, being ganged up by the two dragons. The beast kept trying to shake Lily off, then managed to while throwing it's head, Lily falling off and crashed against the mountain, making her roar out in pain.

"LILY!"

Lily growled, shaking her head while going back to aid the Fire Drake in the battle. Smaug roared at the Mordonon, which it roared back and charge. Lily jumps on it once again, clawing in it's side and the beast roared, about to grab her, but Smaug grabbed a hold of it's neck, digging his teeth deep into it's skin. The beast roared, trying to shake Smaug off, but he only just digged his teeth deeper and deeper, grabbing it's neck and then twisted it with his claws and teeth, hearing a bone snap.

Lily jumps off while the pale beast fell, dead.

Smaug growled, the beast's blood now on his teeth and mouth and he glares at the pale orc. "...what will you do now...ORC?" He hissed at the title, his spikes expanded out while Lily kept her eyes narrowed, turning normal while standing next to the Fire Drake.

"You are FORSAKEN! No help will come!" Smaug smirked, his tail curling around the dragoness alpha. Lily was glaring at Azog, who glared back and he pulled out an amulet, glaring at the large fire drake. "You are in MY command, dragon!" Azog shouted and Smaug smirked, seeing the magic amulet. "That is a pity...I only listen to my mistress...and my mistress ALONE." Smaug growled.

Azog narrowed his eyes, gritting his teeth while some of the orcs that were cowering over the large dragon as he was growling, baring his teeth. "You cannot save yourselves from the fire. YOU. WILL. BURN!" Smaug roared, growling, his nostrils now breathing out smoke, his under belly glowing red; ready to release the flames upon the wretched orcs.

Lily looks slightly at Bilbo, who was staring at her shocked, and Lily smiled sadly at him, then focused at the pale orc.

Azog shouted a command and the small group of orcs that were with him attacked and Smaug roared, flapping his large wings while Lily grabbed her sword out and starts to slash at the orcs, the other dwarves that joined them joining the fight. Lily slashed one orc, then heard her father shouting her name. She looks over to see Bilbo running towards her while the other dwarves were keeping the orcs occupied.

"Dad..."

She drops her sword and hugs him tightly around his neck, sniffing. "Dad..." She choked.

"Oh, sweetie. Don't ever make me worry like that again! I thought you died!" He tighten the hug, making it a little difficult for Lily to breathe, but she didn't care while she buried her face into his shoulder, the fabrics of his shirt drying her tears when they landed on his clothes. "I'm so sorry, dad...I'm sorry." She choked, crying softly into his shoulder and he rubbed his back in large soothing circles.

She soon pulled away, smiling while a tear ran down her cheek and Bilbo rest his hand against her cheek, brushing the tear away with his thumb and Lily leaned into her father's touch.

"Alpha!"

Lily looks to see Demon hovering above her. "Fellbeasts, heading over here! Azog somehow got those beasts to his side!" Demon shouted and Lily narrowed her eyes. "Send word to Vordoom to send the Boulder and Stoker class dragons to take them from the skies!" She commanded and Demon nods. "As you command, Dovah Alpha!" Demon roared, then took off into the sky.

Lily then looks around. "Dad, where's Thorin!?"

They saw Thorin missing, including Azog. "THORIN!" Lily shouted and Smaug roared, flying from above and released a jet stream of flames against a few fellbeasts that dare try to go against him in battle and he looks down at Lily, which he heard her dragon voice to come over and he roared, hovering above her. At first, Bilbo yelled for Lily's name when she starts to run, Smaug going lower and lower until he was merely touching the ground.

Lily seemed hesitant at first-

"Lily...I need you to trust me." Smaug said, looking at her. Lily nods, taking a deep breath and jumps off the ledge, Smaug diving down with her, his wings tucked against the side of his body. Lily grabbed one of the spines that grew on his neck down to his back and landed on the large Fire Drake. Smaug pulled up, expanding his wings while roaring.

She held on the best she could, sitting between the dragon's shoulder blades as he circled above the sky, looking down at the battle field while growling. Lily could see the battles between orcs, humans, dwarves, elves, and the eagles and dragons that joined the battle, taking care of the evil, flying beasts that were on the Orc's side. "Where are you, Thorin..." Lily thought, looking around.

She held onto the large dragon while he dove down, releasing a jet stream of flames against a few trolls that were firing boulders at him. Lily held on, grunting when she nearly fell off of the dragon and Smaug looks back at her, roaring softly. "I'm fine! We need to find Thorin!" She shouted, managing to hold onto part of the armor of the fire dragon. Smaug roared loudly, grabbing one fellbeast that tried to attack him with his clawed foot and tossed it to the side.

Lily kept looking around for Thorin.

She then spotted him, then she stilled...seeing him on the ground. "THORIN!"

Smaug hovered and Lily jumps off of him and ran to him. "Thorin!" She knelt down beside him, seeing the large wounds on his chest and shoulder. "No, no...please, Mahal no." She choked.

Lily looks at Thorin, who had his eyes closed. "Thorin...please...come back..." She choked, tears rolling down her cheeks. She looks at the wounds, then pressed both of her hands on it.

"WaĆse heill!" She shouted in dragon tongue, her hands glowing as she tried to heal the wounds shut. "Please, Thorin...come back to me...please..." She said, choking on her words as she kept trying to heal him. She felt herself getting weak from using a lot from the healing spell. She pulled away, looking at Thorin, but he still had his eyes closed.

"No...no..."

She placed her head against his chest, crying softly, her hand clenching to his shirt.

Smaug looks at them, then bowed his head in grief, feeling the alpha's distress of losing her loved one. Even the other dragons felt her despair and sorrow of her lost loved one. Lily kept sobbing into his chest, repeating his name with her hand clenching to the fabric of his shirt.

Then...

She felt something on top of her hand, making her look up.

Thorin had his eyes open half way, but was smiling. "...hello, Lily..."

"Thorin..." She hugged him around his neck and he wrapped one arm around her, letting her sob into his shoulder. "Don't cry..." He coughed, kissing her gently on her cheek. She just shook her head, burying her face into his shoulder, the tears landing on the fabrics of his shirt. Thorin took a deep breath, exhaling through his nose shakily, his hand tightening around her.

"Oh Lily...my Ghivashel..." That made Lily pulled away, tears still running down her cheeks, but was confused of that dwarf word he said.

He smiled a bit more, chuckling while he placed his hand on her cheek.

"...it means my 'most precious treasure'..." He smiled, making Lily smile as well, sniffing. She leaned her head close and kissed him, which he kissed softly and tenderly, his hands carding through her silky black hair. Lily laid her head against his shoulder, sniffing while tears ran down her cheeks until they both passed out, now unconscious and all drained out.

Smaug looks down at Lily, who was unconscious and laying in a bed, covered in bandages. Smaug was sniffing, looking down at her while he managed to fit his head through a window of where she was resting at. Smaug snorted, hurring while he tries to wait for his mistress to awaken once more.

Lily sighs deeply, then started to flutter her eyes open. Her vision was blurry as she looks around to what happened. Then she saw Smaug, who hurred and sniffed her hair before nudging her the softest he could. "Smaug..." She croaked, her voice hoarse and crackly for being unused for awhile. Smaug hurred, kept nudging and nuzzling her, purring.

Lily groaned, her body sore all over.

"...'m body hurts..." She groaned, Smaug helping her sit up by placing his head behind her and slowly helped her sit up. "Yes...it will take time for your body to recover. You have used most of your energy to save Thorin's life." He said, making Lily's eyes widen with surprised and shock and she looks at him. "S-So...is he...?"

Smaug nods. "You saved him." Smaug then became confused when Lily was sobbing, but it was sobs from relief. "Thank Mahal..." She sobbed, burying her face into her hands. Smaug just tilted his head, still trying to understand the human emotions since he never really looks at humans up close. So the only thing he could do is gently placing his snout against her cheek, purring softly.

Lily sniffed, calming down after a few minutes of crying and then looks around her surroundings. It seems she was in a guest room...

...in Erebor.

"Wait...does...does anyone know your here?" She asked, now nervous that there was a large dragon in Erebor. Smaug tilted his head, hurring. Lily then groaned, her body still sore as she sat on the edge of the bed. She took a deep breath and stood up slowly. At first, her legs felt like jelly, but she kept trying to stand up and tried to take a first step, but she stumbled.

Smaug ducked his head, catching her from falling. Lily looks at him, then noticed something...he seemed smaller...

Wait...

He was at her size, but a tad bigger than her. He helped her stood up, staring at her with his golden red eyes, hurring. "H-How...how are you...?" Smaug had that smirk of his that he always does. The evil may be gone within him, but he still carries that attitude of his. "Every dragon has their secrets. One day...you may know them all." He said, managing to squeeze his head through her arm to help her walk.

"Thank you." She said, walking with the dragon's assistance as he hurred, slowly walking with her until he reached the door with her. When she opened the door, she was greeted by Balin, who had a bowl of water and a cloth with him, but he smiled with relief when he saw Lily awake. "Ah, Lass. You gave us all quite a fright, you did. Including Thorin when we all saw you passed out. But...you're up and about once again." He smiled.

Lily smiled as well. "Thank you, Balin." She said, then managed to hug him with one arm, which he returned while smiling. "...see that ya managed to tame the dragon." He said, looking at Smaug, who had his eyes narrowed at the dwarf. Lily calmed him by placing her hand on his snout, which he looks at her while he cooed, snorting softly.

"Well...he doesn't really like that word. But yeah... but it wasn't his fault though...on that day. Sauron's scale was one him when he was just a juvenile. His mind was corrupted by the dark lord and the dark lord made him did what he did. It wasn't his fault." Lily said, Smaug looking at her while he pressed his snout against her cheek, hurring.

"I see...I guess ya want to see Thorin?" He asked.

Lily nods, smiling a bit.

"Well, he is still resting. You've been both out for days and he is resting in his room. It's three corridors above, you'll be able to know which one it is when you get there." Balin smiled, then walked along to do his duties in Erebor. Lily looks at Smaug, who looks at her. "...think you can help me get to there?" She asked. Smaug sighs, but he nods as he helps her walk, but it was very slow walk there, much to Smaug's patience, since he's the one that's never waits for many of things.

Smaug huffed out of annoyance, growing tiresome of how long it was taking.

"I'm sorry, Smaug, but I-"

She didn't finish when Smaug scooped her up with his head, placing her on his back. He then flew out the window and she held on, Smaug flying up until he got to the window, hovering in front of it and he opened the window with his snout, then lets Lily slide off and before Lily could try to thank the dragon, he already flew up to the top of the mountain, perching on a large boulder until Lily was ready.

Lily sighs, then looks over at Thorin.

He was unconscious, bandages on his head, shoulders and chest, which he was wearing no shirt. He looks so peaceful, Lily thought. She slowly limped over to the bed and sat on a chair that was next to the bed. She grabbed a hold of Thorin's hand and she sighs, but was smiling sadly. "...we did it, Thorin..."

A tear ran down her cheek, waiting for Thorin to awaken once more.

This may be the longest chapter that I have done in this story, but yay.

War has won, Erebor is Thorin's once more and Lily has to make things right between the King of Dale and Thranduil. But then, Lily learns something from Bard that is a shock and a surprise to her.

What is it? Will she be surprised? Will she be happy?

That is the next chapter.

Until then,
