Chapter 13, Yay!
So I am probably gonna do some bonus chapters of the characters, including Lily with Thorin, Smaug, Bilbo and many other characters. Because thanks to a friend of mine at work, I am working on a funny part.
But from the Last Chapter, Smaug was now free from the control of the Dark Lord and is now on Lily's side. The war is over and Thorin is slowly recovering from his injuries. But Lily learns something new from Bard and tries to find it out herself.
Will she love it? Or regret it?
So here we go!
Chapter 13: The Truth
Lily sighs, her hand still holding onto Thorin's hand as he slept. It has been a week since the battle of the five armies over the riches of Erebor. Lily never left Thorin's side, who was still unconscious during the time. Lily looks over at Thorin, who remained asleep while healing from his battle. She rubbed the top of his hand with her thumb in small circles.
She then heard a soft roar and she looks over at the source.
Smaug looks at her, tilting his head while growling softly. Lily smiled and gestured him to stay quiet. Smaug growled a bit in irritation. "You've been in there for a week, Lilian. It's time for you to get fresh air, even if I have to force you to get it!" Smaug growled. Lily rolled her eyes, sighing. "Smaug, I want to be there when Thorin wakes up." Lily said-
She was then grabbed by the scruff of her shirt when Smaug picked her up with his teeth. "Smaug, put me down!" She said, then regrets it when she saw the heights they were above from the mountain. "Wait, don't let go! Don't let go!" She shouted, clinging to the dragon's snout this time and Smaug had that smug look on his face. She looks at him as he managed to toss her up in the air, making her land right behind his head.
She held on when Smaug starts to fly, roaring while taking flight. She managed to look down, seeing the sights below them. The view was breath-taking, the town of Dale below them and many of the lands below them while they were above the clouds. She smiled, looking around them while Smaug looks slightly back at her. His plan worked out perfectly.
He then tucked his wings and starts to dive down, making Lily hold onto the large fire drake while he dove down, slowly doing a twirl before pulling up, roaring. He circled around Dale, much to the villager's dismay on the presence of the large Fire Drake. "Smaug, stop antagonizing them. They're scared enough as it is." Lily scolded, Smaug snickering on the villager's reactions to his appearance.
Lily rolled her eyes at him. "He can be such a hatchling." Lily thought-
She yelped when he did a sudden twirl and she clutch onto him. "DON'T. Do that! I wasn't ready!" She shouted, earning a sly smirk from Smaug, some of his teeth showing in his grin. He starts to slow down and hovered, growling softly before landing. He then lowered his head and neck, letting Lily slide off of him and looks at Dale.
It was still under construction since the battle, Lily letting some of the dragons help the people around Dale to carry wood or assist the fisherman with fish, fire up wood to keep people warm during the winter's cold wind. Even some of the children were playing with the smaller dragons, who took participation with the children's games.
Lily smiled sadly-
"Miss Boggins!"
Lily gasped, hearing the voices and she turns her head, smiling when she saw Kili running towards her. "Kili!" She ran to him and hugged him tightly, but then heard Kili grunt in pain. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't realize you were still healing! I'm so so sorry!" She apologized quickly, suddenly pulling away from the hug, stuttering a bit with her words, but that made Kili only laugh.
"I'm fine, Miss Boggins. I'm just glad that you're okay!" He smiled.
Lily smiled back and hugged him, but gently this time and he hugged her back, smiling as well. "I'm glad that you're okay as well, Kili." She whispered, a tear ran down her cheek while tightening her grip around his neck, but not to bother his wounds. Kili looks at her a bit confused. "Miss Boggins?" She couldn't say anything, her tears landing on the fabrics of his shirt.
He sighs, then spotted someone and smiled. "There's someone who wants to see you." He said, making Lily pull away and look at the source and more tears shone on her eyes.
"Dad..."
Bilbo looks over at Lily, which his eyes were filled with relief on seeing his daughter. "Lily..." He smiled with relief on seeing her, which she started to run towards him and hugged him tightly, sobbing into his shoulder. Bilbo nearly stumbled on the sudden impact, but he steady himself and hugged his daughter just as tight, letting her cry into his shoulder. "Shh, shh...it's alright, I'm here. It's alright." He whispered, rubbing his hand up and down in soothing circles on her back.
"Dad..." She choked, tightening her grip on him, still sobbing into his shoulder. Bilbo kept rubbing her back, Lily letting it all out until she finally calmed down, her sobs now turning into sniffs and small hiccups until it was soft breathing. Bilbo smiled at her, his hand managing card through her hair.
Smaug perked his head up, hearing something and snorts at Lily, making her look over at him. He lowered his neck, growling softly at her. "...I have to go somewhere real quick." Lily said, not really giving Bilbo or Kili to say anything as she jumps onto Smaug's back and he takes off, heading towards the Lonely Mountain. She held onto him while he flies and managed to get to Thorin's room.
She gets off and Smaug takes off once more and Lily then realized what Smaug sensed.
Thorin was awake.
He was sitting up, groaning as he stretched one of his arm that wasn't bandaged then noticed Lily by the window. "...Lily..."
"Thorin..."
She walked over to him and then hugged him around his shoulders, tears once more streaming down her cheeks. Thorin felt one tear landing on his bare shoulder, since he was not wearing a shirt and he sighs deeply, wrapping his arms around her. His fingers card through her hair, pressing a kiss against her cheek. "Don't cry..." He whispered, still feeling more tears land on his bare shoulders.
When Lily pulled away, Thorin thought she was going to say something, but he was cut off when Lily pressed her lips against his lips. He was taken back from it, but he closed his eyes, kissing her back. She held back a shiver when his hand rubbed against her lower waist and she needs him to be closer, getting into a comfortable position. She got on the bed, sitting on his lap and he smiled in the kiss. She then pulled away enough to press a soft kiss behind his ear and she saw him tense up.
"You okay?"
"Y-Yes." He cleared his throat, "I'm fine." He said. And that's when Lily had a small smirk on her face. "...I found your sweet spot, haven't I?" She asked, making Thorin avert eye contact with her. "No." He lied and Lily giggled. "I did, didn't I?" She asked, only making Thorin grumble under his breath. To test her theory, she kissed behind his ear once more and he tensed once again.
Lily laughed, kissing his cheek. "Don't be a downer, Thorin." She smiled and Thorin still had that flat annoyed look on his face, making Lily laugh. "Aw, don't be angry at lil' old me. Pretty please, Thorin?" She asked, nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck.
He sighs deeply, but placed his hand on the top of her head. "...how come I can't stay mad at you?" He asked and Lily smiled, looking up at him. "I'm just made that way." She smiled, curling up her legs as she was still on Thorin's lap. He kissed the top of her head, sighing. "...I'm glad that you're alright." He whispered. He said, making Lily place her hand on his arm.
"...I thought that you were gone forever, Thorin...you scared me when I saw you on the ground, not moving." She inhaled a shaky breath, making Thorin tighten his grip around her. He cupped her chin, making her look up at him and he kissed her once more. She sighs in bliss, kissing him back. He shifted enough, not breaking the kiss, to let Lily lay down with him.
"I'm sorry that I worried you, Lily." He whispered, kissing her eye lid so gently, where a single tear was still in place. She only sighs, curling up against him. He smiled and kissed her once more, where she kissed him in return, sighing blissfully while he cupped her cheeks, stroking it with his thumb in small circles. He then pulled away, placing a soft kiss against her neck. She shivered in delight.
He then smirked. "It seems I found your sweet spot."
Lily had that look on her face that said 'BUSTED' all over, a blush over her face. He placed another kiss against her neck, teasing her as she shivered, wrapping her arms around his neck to pull him closer. The kisses against her neck were electrifying and if she is shivering from the kisses from the dwarf king, then it was certainly working on her.
The kisses between them was then getting more heated and more passionate. Lily wanted to be closer, wrapping her arms around his neck and hooked her legs behind Thorin's knees, which he placed his hands on her hips, stroking them gently with his thumbs. She moaned softly when Thorin licked her lips, wanting to gain entrance and she lets him gain entrance-
Someone cleared their throat.
Both Lily and Thorin to see Ori, having an eyebrow raised at them, but was smirking at them. Lily and Thorin blushed a dark red and Lily cleared her throat.
"...this isn't what it looks like."
"I don' know, Lass...to me, it looks like it is." He gruffed, having his medical items with him as he starts to unwrap the bandages, which Lily saw the wounds he received from the battles. Lily looks away, giving Thorin privacy so that Ori can apply ointments on some of his wounds and re-wraps them once more. "There we go. I would say by tomorrow, you'll be up an' walkin' again." Ori said and Thorin smiled.
"Thank you, Ori." He said and the dwarf nods, walking out to give them privacy.
Lily cleared her throat. "...sorry about earlier. I...I kinda got lost in the moment." She rubbed her shoulder nervously. Of course, she felt a hand on the top of her hand and she looks over at Thorin, who had a soft expression on his face. "Don't apologize. I was lost in the moment as well." He smiled a bit nervously and Lily smiled back at him.
"Lily, I do want to treat you right and we both were lost in the heated moment. Do...do you mind if we wait? I don't want to hurt your feelings and I want to share that moment properly." He said, taking her hands in his. Lily was at lost. He wanted to wait until it was the right moment and her heart fluttered from that. So she just smiled and kissed his nose. "I'll wait as long as you want, Thorin."
He smiled back and pressed his forehead to hers and she smiled, her eyes closed. She then remembered something and looks at Thorin, who saw the look on her face. "Something is troubling you." He said and she nods, taking a deep breath. "Thorin...Smaug is...he was being controlled, from the very beginning...by the dark lord." She said and Thorin looks at her.
"...he was being controlled by him...making him destroy Dale...and he took your kingdom. He...he tried to fight his will, really he did, but..."
"Lily."
She looks at him, tears shone in her eyes as he held her hands still. "...keep going. I need to know everything." That makes her nod, taking deep breaths. "...he placed a scale on Smaug, just when he turned into an adult dragon. To humans and other kinds, it's invisible to the their eyes. But to a dragon...it's clear as daylight. I-I went out after him and when I pulled it off of him, he crashed into the mountain side, knocking me out."
Thorin nods, letting her continue.
"That's when Gandalf, Radagast, and Saroman told me about the scale and Smaug has no memory of what happened. He doesn't remember destroying Dale, taking Erebor, nothing ever since the scale was placed on him. And...I...I bonded with him...he is now my companion and...I'm...I'm afraid that...you'll hate me now because I have a dragon that destroyed a city and took your home..as a companion...I..." She sniffed, covering her eyes with her arm. "I don't want to lose you and hate me..." She choked, now sobbing.
Thorin looks at her. She thought that he would hate her for something like this? Sure, he was surprised that the Fire Drake was taken control by the dark lord himself, but to have him hate her because she has him as a companion now?
He sighed and took her into his arms, letting her sob into his shoulder. All he could keep hearing is "Don't hate me" and "I'm sorry" while sobbing into his bare shoulder. He just stroked her hair, kissing her forehead while hushing her and starts to rub her back to help her ease her tension. And after awhile, he heard her sobbing easing until they were shuddering breaths.
"Lily. I could never, EVER, hate you. Even if you tame and bond the fire beast, I will never abandon you and neither will anyone else. Do you see where I'm going at?" He asked gently. She nods against his shoulder, but refused to pull away from his shoulder. "Lily, please look at me. I want to see those jeweled eyes of yours." He said, nudging her head gently. She hesitated, but she pulled away to look at him.
He smiled sadly, brushing her bangs away from her eyes. "There you are."
She kept looking at him as he kissed her cheek, making her blush again. "I will not abandon you. Not after how far we've come." He said, rubbing her shoulder to ease her tension.
"...promise?" She whispered. He tighten his grip on her.
"I promise."
Lily sighs, sitting on the top of Smaug's head while he blew rings of smokes and Lily sighs deeply. "Thorin said that he didn't mind but...why...why do I feel like he still doesn't like the idea?" She asked, hugging her knees as they were by the large lake, Smaug sitting on the shores.
"...Lily, let me tell you something my father once told me." Smaug said and Lily looks down at him. Smaug looks up at her, his pupils still wide and yet slender at the same time. "Sometimes, things will happen and we have to face the after face of what things happened. There are things that we can not control and stop things from happening and we have to face it head on, no matter what direction it takes to or how the consequences will occur." He said and he lets Lily down, lowering his head while he turned small, being the same height as her.
"So how everything went from the past to this day now, we have to keep going forward. Do you see where I'm going with this conversation?" He asked and Lily nods, sniffing. She laughed sadly while wiping his face with her hand. "I've been so emotional ever since the war passed." She sniffed and Smaug tilted his head, growling softly.
Then he slowly walked up to her and pressed his snout against her cheek, purring softly while he eyes are closed. She then wrapped her arms around his head, hugging him and he lets her, purring softly. He looks at her, seeing tears roll down the mistress's face. Usually, he is against this, since he is the most feared dragon of all Middle Earth, never letting anyone ridden among his back.
But Lily...on the other hand...
He could tell that she was really lonely during her time in the Shire in Hobbiton. The only person she had was her father before the dwarves ever showed up in their life. And Smaug, himself, didn't really have anyone ever since his father and mother passed away when he was half way through his juvenile stage. He could tell...
...that she was just as lonely as he was.
Smaug pressed his forehead firmer against her cheek, purring; his tail curling around Lily's feet to show how much he is trying to comfort his dragon mistress. Lily looks over at him and he stared at her back with his golden red eyes, blinking slowly as his pupils were wide and yet slender, but they were in a soft expression way. "...is it okay if we go flying for awhile? I don't know why...but it calms me down."
He nods. "As you wish, my dovah queen." He lowered his back for her and she gets on, settling just above his shoulder blades. He stood on his hind legs and flapped his wings, taking off into the sky. Lily closed her eyes, breathing deeply and so did Smaug, enjoying the peace in the sky, where it was calm and quiet. He dipped one of his wings into the clouds, making it ripple apart.
Smaug looks back at Lily, who seemed to be lost in her own little world and he sighs deeply through his snout. He then saw small land from the abandon Lake Town and lands, making Lily look at him confused while sliding off of his back. "Smaug? What's wrong?" Lily asked, looking at him-
She was surprised when Smaug went up to her and loop his head around hers, his winged hands surrounding her in a gentle embrace, purring softly. Lily was surprised, tensing but then relaxed and hugged his neck. "Smaug...what's wrong?"
"...every time I feel sorrow from you...I feel it. I don't like it...seeing you sad." He said, cracking one eye to look at her. She couldn't say anything, only tightening her grip around the dragon and he sighs. "...I wish there was something I could do..."
"Lily?"
Smaug's pupils slit angrily and growled at the source, curling protectively around his mistress. It was Bard, who looks at her and was surprised on how the dragon was acting around her. Lily reassured Smaug by placing his hand on his snout and he immediately stops growling, but he kept his eyes narrowed at him, his nostrils flaring with anger.
"Yes, Bard?" Lily asked. Bard slowly walked over to her, but keeping his distance away from the dragon that was glaring at him. "...do you remember your parents? At all? I'm sorry if it's a-"
"No, no, it's fine." Lily assured him, smiling softly. She tries to think for a moment, then looks at Bard. "...I really don't to be honest, I could only remember so much because I lost them when orcs set my house on fire and they died in the flames...so I barely remember them." She said, looking at Bard.
"Well...I know a couple...who said that they lost their child when their house light on fire years ago. Does a name 'Angela' and 'Greg' sound familiar to you?" He asked. Somehow, that triggered a memory of two people in her memories, trying to reach out to them.
"Mommy! Daddy!" A girl giggled and a man with black hair and blue eyes saw her and smiled, picking her up. "There you are, my little flower." He smiled, kissing her cheek and Lily giggled, hugging him tightly.
"Okay, you two. Dinner is ready." A woman chuckled, having a bowl in her hands while mixing something inside of it. The man nods and then smiled at Lily. "Why don't you get your older brother and tell him dinner is ready, huh?"
"Okay, daddy!" She smiled, her father setting her down and she ran to a tree, seeing a boy with dark brown hair, red eyes staring at the distance. "Big brother!" Lily giggled and he turned around to see Lily and he smiled at her. "Hey there. Whatcha doing?" He asked, chuckling when she hugged his arm. "Daddy said dinner is ready! I came to fetch you!" She smiled.
"Oh, did he, huh?" He smiled, placing a flower behind her ear and she smiled. "Well, we don't want to keep them waiting, do we?" He asked, lifting her up and placed her on his shoulders, which she hugged his head, giggling. "I love you, big brother!" She smiled and her brother kissed her hand, smiling. "I love you too, little flower."
Lily was lost in memory, her vision foggy of being lost in thought.
"Lily? You alright?" She heard Bard talking to her and she shook her head out of the thought, looking at Bard. "S-Sorry, I was lost in thought...but...yes, they do ring a bell."
"Well...I found a small cottage, just a few right by the shores of Lake Town and...I thought that I should tell in case...they are your real parents-" He stumbled when Lily suddenly tackle him into a hug, Lily wrapping her arms around his neck. "Thank you, Bard...Thank you." She whispered and he smiled, hugging her just as tight. "You're welcome."
Lily looks at the small cottage, which was pretty small for two people. Lily had no idea what on what was going to happen when she knocks on the door. She doesn't know if they are her parents or not.
And if they were her parents, then what were they doing this whole time?
Were they looking for her?
Well, standing at the door won't tell her anything. So with courage, she knocks on the door and waits for someone to come out. The door slowly opens, seeing a man that aged just a bit, some white streaks of hair in his black hair and he looks down at Lily, then was shocked to see the mismatched eyes. "Uhh...can I help you?" He asked nervously.
"Are...Are you Greg? And is...is Angela at home as well?" Lily asked nervously.
"...ANGELA! You need to come here for a minute!" He shouted and Lily saw a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes, who aged as well and she was just as shocked as was the man was when she saw the mismatched eyes. "...h-hello. My name is Lily and-"
"We know who you are."
Lily looks up at them, tears shone in her eyes. "You...You do?" She asked and the man nods, who was named Greg.
"Yes...we're...we're your parents."
Lily was sobbing with relief, smiling that they were alive the whole time. "I-I thought you guys died in the flames that day years ago! You have no idea how glad I am to see you guys!" She said, about to hug them, but they stood away from her. "Aren't you guys happy? We can be a family again!" Lily smiled, but she didn't see them smiling.
"Did I...Did I caught you in a bad time?"
"...we thought you died..." Angela said, clenching her hands into fists every so often. Lily looks at them, seeing their moods suddenly changing. "W-Well...I-I thought that you guys died and-"
"We made sure you died in those flames."
That caught Lily off guard. "Wh-What?" Lily asked, shocked of what she was hearing. "B-But I-"
"It was your fault that our oldest son died that day!" Angela shouted, now fully in rage and Lily flinched. Lily was out of the house, all three of them outside now as Lily was staring at them shocked. "Wh-What do you mean?"
"If you didn't ask our son to go out to play in those woods, then he wouldn't have died from that Warg! You're the reason he's dead!" Angela shouted and Lily winced at the harsh words, staring at them with wide eyes that were filled with hurt. "And we tried to sell you to the orcs, but it turns out that they didn't like you as you were and tried to kill us!"
Lily's eyes wide with shock and horror.
"You...you...t-tried to...sell me...?" She asked.
Her vision was blurry now as they were glaring at her.
"Our son has died because of you! And the orcs were trying to kill us and we set the house on fire because we knew you were inside! It turns out that we were wrong that you are STILL living! You've killed our son!"
"...all this time..." They both tensed when she started to speak in dragon tongue. "...I thought you guys died...in that flames years ago...and you just, not only sell me, but try to kill me?" She slowly starts to shape-shift into a dragon, her pupils went the thinnest they could go and they were dangerously slit, but tears were invisible, streaming down her scaly cheeks, her wings expanded out. "I've wondered to this day...why you guys died...and now...seeing you alive...and hearing what you've tried to do to me..."
She glares at them, her pupils slit. "...then you both deserve what should have happened..."
She was slowly advancing up to them.
"L-Lily...what's the matter with you?" Angela asked nervously, seeing Lily baring her teeth and growling. "What are you doing, Lily? Knock it off." Greg said, but Lily was still advancing towards them, her pupils still slit very thin, growling and baring her teeth that were sharp and pearly white. She hissed, her vision blurry with rage, hatred and hurt.
"Stop! Snap out of it!" Greg commanded, but Lily kept coming towards them, her wings expanded in an attack position, hissing. Her claws were digging into the ground of the rage and hurt she was in, tears still invisibly running down her scaly cheeks. She hissed angrily.
"DON'T!"
Lily's belly starts to get warm, knowing that she was going to ignite them in flames.
"STOP!"
Lily inhaled, her mouth glowing red, ready to end their lives-
She was tackled to the side, making her completely miss and ignited the house next to them and she start to roar out in rage, snapping at whatever was holding her down, but there was something, no, someone trying to hold her down while something else was holding her in place. She was thrashing her head and body, roaring with rage and hatred.
"Lily, stop!"
"What were you thinking!?"
"LILY!"
Lily kept roaring out in rage. "THEY WILL BURN! I WILL HUNT THEM AND KILL THEM BECAUSE THEY TRIED TO KILL ME! Lily roared out in rage in dragon tongue, trying to break herself free-
She suddenly felt a hand on her snout and she stops struggling, freezing on the spot. "Lily...it's me...it's okay, I'm right here, Lily..." A voice said, her vision still blurry from the rage, but she could recognize the soft voice. "Come back to me..."
Lily was struggling on regaining her vision, roaring out to whoever was calling out to her, but her roars sounded like pleas. "It's okay, Lily...it's...going to be okay..." The voice said, and she could hear the voice cracked up a bit with sad emotions. Lily cooed, trying to regain her conscious, but she could remember the hateful words of her 'parents' in her mind.
"You're the reason he's dead!"
Lily's pupils became slit again, baring her teeth-
"No, Lily. Focus on my voice, focus on me. You have to come back...I'm not leaving you...I'm not letting you go." The voice said again and Lily found her head pressing against the person's chest and she felt hands around his head, trying to get her to come back to the present they are in. Lily cooed, trying to fight her rage she was feeling inside of her.
"You're not alone, Lily...you're not alone..."
Lily's vision came back and her pupils went wide, cooing as she saw Thorin looking at her, smiling with relief. "That's it, Lily. That's it. I'm here." He said, placing his hand against her snout. Lily could see some of the dwarves holding her down so that she couldn't move to do what she was doing-
That's when it struck her.
She was going to kill her parents.
Her eyes shone with tears as the dwarves got off of her and she looks at Thorin, turning human as the tears were now streaming down her cheeks. Thorin hushed her, cupping her cheeks while kissing her forehead. "Th-Thorin, I...I tried to...I tried to kill..." She choked on a sob and she hugs him tightly, which he hugged her tightly in return.
Smaug had her 'parent's cornered, growling and baring his teeth. "You two do NOT deserve your lives. I should kill you on the spot right here and now! However...it would be against my mistress and she is too distraught on what you have said...so I am taking you to the King of Dale and let HIM decide your fate." Smaug growled, grabbing them both with his foot and flew off, the screams of the two being heard until it was nothing but the sounds of Lily's sobs.
Thorin tightens the hug as much as he could, making it hard for Lily to breathe, but she didn't care because she was hugging Thorin just as tight as he was, still sobbing into his chest on what she had learn. She was nearly murdered by her parents.
And all of the years, she thought that they died in that flames years ago, but she never knew. She sobs into his chest, her fingers digging into the fabric of Thorin's fur coat he had on. He kept hushing her, stroking her hair while rocking her gently as he could, trying to calm her down. But he knew that this wouldn't be enough, because she is broken.
As gently as he could, he picks her up and she just clings to him, her face still buried into his shoulder while she sobbed of the news she heard from 'them'and it broke her heart. It had broken her to nothing as he starts to walk towards Erebor, but he knew that it will take awhile for them to get there and he looks down at Lily, who stops sobbing, but her shivering remains and her face still remained buried into his shoulder.
"...Lily...call one of the dragons and let them take you to Erebor. You need rest." He said softly, kissing her forehead. She sniffed, but nods as she did her alpha call, Thorin now hearing the humming sound. Soon enough, Demon appeared and lands next to them, but he was surprised of seeing Lily in distress. He cooed, licking her cheek while nuzzling her head.
"She has heard something that broke her heart. Take her to Erebor so that she can rest. I'll join later." Thorin said, placing Lily on the dragon's back and Demon nods. Thorin gives Lily a gentle squeeze on her hand and Demon soon took off.
When Lily got to Erebor, she was laying in a room, her face emotionless, feeling nothing, but her tears were still streaming down her cheeks, occasionally sniffing and letting out shaky breaths. She didn't know how long she was laying at the bed, but soon enough, she felt a hand on her shoulder and she turned her head slightly to see her father, Bilbo.
"Lily, what's wrong?"
She didn't answer him, instead she turned over so that she buried her face into chest when he sat down on the edge of the bed and she starts to sob into his chest, her fingers clinging to his shirt. Bilbo was at loss, not knowing what had happened, but he hugged her, stroking her hair. That's when she spilled out on what happened and what she nearly tried to do.
She found herself sobbing harder into his chest after telling Bilbo what she tried to do, curling up to her only family she had. Bilbo, was shocked on what he learned and he looks down at Lily. He tighten the hug as much as he could, but enough to let her breathe.
"Oh, Lily. Shh, shh, it's alright. It's okay, daddy is here. I've got you." He kept hushing her, stroking her hair as he lets her sob into his chest as much time she needs to. Her shoulders shook on every sob she choked on, only making Bilbo tighten the hug around his daughter. It was awhile when Lily stopped sobbing, but she refused to pull away from him. He then smiled sadly.
"...I did'n't know that you were having a relationship with Thorin..." He said, trying to lighten the mood. She sniffed, exhaling a shaky breath. "...it didn't occur to me..." She choked. He smiled sadly, kissing the top of her head. "...if he makes you happy, Lily. Then I'm happy for you." He smiled, brushing her hair behind her ear, smiling sadly.
Bilbo didn't know how long he was holding his daughter, but the next thing he knew, he heard the door opened and saw Thorin walking in, a grieve look on his face and he looks to see Bilbo.
Bilbo looks down at Lily, who didn't pull away from him, but was still hugging him tightly. Thorin looks at her and Bilbo just shook his head sadly, kissing the top of Lily's head. "Lily? Sweetie, Thorin is here..." Bilbo said. Lily looks slightly at Thorin, who sat down next to her, placing his hand on her shoulder. Bilbo lets Lily go so that she could hug Thorin.
Bilbo smiled at the two and stood up, leaving them so they could have some privacy.
Thorin looks down at Lily, hugging her as she had her face buried into the crook of his neck. "...they've been sentence to a different country so that they won't bother you again, Lily. That's what Bard's sentence was for them." Thorin said, looking at her.
Lily didn't say anything and he sighs. He guides her down gently so that they were both laying down, Thorin letting her rest her head against his shoulder, and he wrapped one arm around her waist and he kissed her forehead. She sighs shakily, sniffing on some occasions, but it look like she cried herself out. "...never knew I cried that much..." She said, her voice hoarse from all of the crying she did.
He just smiled sadly, rubbing her shoulders gently.
"Hey, it's alright. Many of things happened and you needed to let them all out. There is no shame in it." He said, brushing the bangs out of her eyes and she looks up at him, her eyes red and puffy from the crying she did. He kissed her nose, then her eyelids, then her cheeks. "Tell me what you need." He whispered, then claimed her lips with his, which she kissed back.
"I...I don't know...I just don't know..." She choked, curling up against him. He kissed her forehead, his hand on her waist and was rubbing it in small soothing circles with his thumb. "It's alright...if you need time, I will give you time, alright?" He said and Lily looks at him, mismatched eyes staring at crystal blue eyes and she hugs him tightly again.
"...just don't let go of me, Thorin...don't let go of me."
And Thorin didn't, hugging her tightly to his chest as she starts to sob once more into his chest. It was so emotional today for her and she couldn't handle the emotions she was feeling inside of her. He hushed her gently, rubbing his hand up and down her back while his other hand carded through her hair, looking up at the ceiling and sighed deeply.
He then starts to hum a Dwarvish lullaby that his sister, Dis singed to his nephews when they were infants. The lullaby seemed to be doing the trick as Lily was calming down slowly, shuddering a shaky breath and he kept humming the lullaby until Lily fell into a calm deep sleep. He smiled and closed his eyes, sighing as they were both asleep.
They were going to look after each other and Thorin will make sure she will never doubt again.
chapter 13 is done and gone!
It took me so many moments on how to write the certain parts of the story, but I am glad on how it turns out.
In the next chapter, Lily tries to cope on what she had learn and everyone around her will do their best so that she could smile once again and get the Lily back that they all knew before.
Until then,
