Cagalli was working in her office when a guard rushed in.
"Lady Cagalli, we have detected a large ZAFT fleet approaching our border" said the guard
"Damn it" growled Cagalli
"ZAFT is attacking us" she said
"Send out one of our escort fleets to reinforce our patrol fleets at the point of entry" she ordered
"Have the Archangel launch as well to help deal with any subs" she continued
"Also have all the traitors loaded onto transports and ready for take-off" she finished
"Yes ma'am" said the guard as he left
Cagalli activated her clyuno and said "Everyone meet in the hanger"
"ZAFT is here" she said
Cagalli arrived at the hanger and saw everyone was already there.
"So ZAFT is attacking us for our 'connection' with LOGOS" asked Athrun
"Yes" said Cagalli nodding her head
"I am hoping that by turning over all the traitors that they will leave" she said
"But I don't think that will happen" she added
"Stella, I want you to stay behind us under Mirage Colloid" she ordered
"I want to keep you Gundam a secret until we are ready to kill that psycho" she added
"Yes" said Stella nodding her head
"Lafiel, Jinto, I want you under Mirage Colloid as well" ordered Cagalli
"But I want you ready to fire if they cross the border" she added
"Understood" said Lafiel nodding her head
"I want this to be a ranged battle and destroy their fleet as quickly as possible to make them retreat" said Cagalli
Everyone nodded their heads as they got into their Gundams and took off. They flew to the border towards ZAFT's entry point. They came to a stop above Orb's fleet with Cagalli in front and everyone else in a V formation behind her. Stella was hiding behind them while Lafiel and Jinto were above them ready to fire.
"Attention ZAFT fleet" said Cagalli
"This is the Chief Representative of the Orb Union, Cagalli Yula Athha"
"I am turning over to you all the members of LOGOS that were in Orb along with those that helped them" she said
"They were arrested for treason immediately after the Chairman's speech" she said
The transports were allowed to approach the ZAFT fleet and land on their ships. The transports quickly unloaded the prisoners before they took off and headed back toward Orb's mainland.
"Where is Djibril" asked the fleet commander
"How would I know where that madman is" asked Cagalli
"We know he is in Orb" said the fleet commander
"WHAT" yelled Cagalli?
"I know he is not in Orb" she said
"I personally made sure of it" she said
"Why would we hand over all the members of LOGOS if we were with them" she asked
"You are trying to trick us" said the fleet commander
"WHAT" yelled Cagalli?
"That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard" she shouted
"It makes no sense" she exclaimed
ZAFT said nothing else as its fleet started heading towards Orb's border again.
"We hold no ill will towards your country" said Cagalli
"But if you cross our border, we will consider it an act of war and show no mercy towards you" she said
"Wait for them to cross the border before you open fire" she ordered the Orb fleet
Once the ZAFT fleet crossed Orb's border, Cagalli said "So be it"
"All forces, Open fire" she shouted
Wing and Wing Zero deactivated Mirage Colloid and opened fired destroying the front of ZAFT's fleet. The Gundams joined in as well along with Orb's fleet with ZAFT soon retaliating. But the fighting soon came to a stop when they all detected something dropping in from orbit. They saw wings open up showing that it was a mobile suit carrying another one.
"It's Kira and Lacus" exclaimed Cagalli
Strike Freedom and Angel opened fired on the rear of the ZAFT fleet as the fight resumed. It soon became clear that ZAFT was losing. They watched as the Minerva turned around and retreated with what remained of ZAFT's fleet following them.
"We did it" exclaimed Cagalli
"You two got here real fast" she said
"We were already on our way when you called" said Kira
"We had a feeling that this might happen" said Lacus
"We thought ZAFT would come after Orb after Heaven's Base fell" she said
"We were also right about the Chairman's ultimate plan" said Kira
"Let's head back" said Cagalli
They all headed back to the Orb mainland and landed at their hanger. Stella ran over and hugged Kira shouting "You're the best big brother ever"
Kira returned it while asking "Where did that come from"
"Blame Dearka" said Cagalli pointing at him
"He was the one that said we looked like sisters" she said
"So I have two little sisters now" said Kira
"What" growled Cagalli?
"Don't you mean you have a one little sister now" she asked
"Nope" said Kira smiling
"I'm older" shouted Cagalli marching towards Kira
"You wouldn't want to hurt our cute little sister now would you" asked Kira holding Stella in front of him
Everyone laughed before Lacus said "You can play with Cagalli later Kira"
"Right now we need to begin our plan" she said
"Right" said Kira nodding his head and letting go of Stella
"What plan is that" asked Athrun
"Our plan to expose that imposter for the fake that she is and expose everything the Chairman has done as well" said Lacus
"Let's head back to Cagalli's house to talk about it" said Kira
They all headed back to Cagalli's house and sat down where Kira and Lacus told everyone what they found.
"So we were right about his ultimate plan" said Lafiel
"It will never work" said Miriallia
"How do you plan to expose that imposter" asked Cagalli
"You will broadcast an official statement about what just happened" said Lacus
"After ZAFT interrupts with the imposter, we will take the signal back and make it so they can't cut the signal on their end" said Kira
"I will then tell everyone about the imposter and you will tell everyone about what really happened here and in Berlin" said Lacus
"Hopefully that will make everyone start questioning what the Chairman is doing" said Kira
"That could work" said Lafiel
"Let's do it" said Cagalli
By the next day, everything was ready. Cagalli and Lacus planned out what to say and had the footage ready. Kira, Athrun, and Dearka were ready to take back the signal while Miriallia helped the film crew.
"Ready Cagalli" asked Miriallia
Cagalli nodded her head as the cameras started rolling.
"This is the Chief Representative of the Orb Union, Cagalli Yula Athha"
"I am using the media of the entire world to deliver this statement" said Cagalli
But before she could continue, she was interrupted by the imposter.
"It's happened" said Miriallia
"Got you" said Kira smirking
Lacus went over and stood next to Cagalli as Athrun said "We're back"
"Hello everyone, my name is Lacus Clyne"
"I know there is someone on the PLANTs with the same face, same voice, and the same name" said Lacus
"But I am the true daughter of Siegel Clyne" she said
"We are two completely different people and our beliefs are just as different" she continued
"I do not agree with either Chairman Durandal's words or his actions nor those of the Alliance as well" she continued
"I am now standing with the Representative and with Orb just as I did in the last war" she continued
"But we need to ask ourselves why Chairman Durandal would need to hire someone to impersonate me" she continued
"Is it because he knew I would never agree with his words" she asked
"Did he want to use my popularity to make everyone follow his every word" she asked
"These are all questions we need answers too" she said
"I will now turn back over to the Representative to finish her statement" she finished
"Thank you" said Cagalli nodding her head
"Before I was so rudely interrupted, I would like to make a statement about ZAFT's recent actions" she said
"Yesterday, a large ZAFT fleet approached our border" she began
"Myself along with my elite guard and an escort fleet went out to meet with our patrol fleet at their point of entry" she continued
"Once they arrived, I turned over all the members of LOGOS that were in Orb along with those that helped them that were arrested right after the Chairman's speech" she continued
"They then demanded that I hand over Djibril as well" she continued
"I told them that I personally made sure that he was not in Orb" she continued
"But they didn't believe me and started to advance again" she continued
"I tried to reason with them that he couldn't be in Orb but they wouldn't listen and continued to advance" she continued
"I told them we didn't want to fight them but would defend ourselves if they crossed our border" she continued
"The ZAFT fleet crossed our border and we decimated them causing them to retreat" she said with a sigh
"Why were they so adamant that Djibril was in Orb without any evidence to show for it" she asked
"The next issue is with this doctored footage" she said holding up her had as the footage played
"This is the footage of that monster being destroyed in Berlin that played during the Chairman's speech" she continued
"What you might have not noticed is that you didn't see anything from ZAFT actually destroy it" she continued
"That is because it was destroyed by members of my elite guard" she continued
"When I first received news about this monster I immediately sent out two members of my elite guard to destroy it" she continued
"Here is the real footage of that monster being destroyed" she said holding up her hand
The footage showed Wing slicing open the cockpit of Destroy before flying away as Wing Zero charged up its Twin Buster Rifle and fired at it destroying it.
"Why did the Chairman try to have ZAFT take credit for something it didn't do" asked Cagalli
"Why does he want everyone to follow him by appearing to be good and hire someone to impersonate Lacus Clyne" she asked
"Why would he have ZAFT attack a neutral country without any evidence for the reason for the attack" she asked
"I think we need answers to these questions before we believe anything more of what the Chairman has to say" she finished
"Thank you" she said bowing her head
