Fearless and Tearless

Chapter 12

Destiny

First off… I just want to say some things. I know I haven't been keeping up with this series for two reasons. 1. I didn't think anyone was actually reading my story. 2. I haven't watched Bleach in a looong time, so I might mess up on some important stuff.

Ichigo's P.O.V.

I set Yuzu down from the hug and can still see the tears in her eyes. I love my sisters, I really do, but I can't help but doing reckless things that make them worry. "Where have you been, Ichi-nii?!"

Since I don't know the extent of her knowledge, I just responded coolly, "I was gone for a really long business trip and didn't have time to tell the family! There was no service where I went either. I'm so sorry." It was a lame excuse, and she knew it. She glared at him for a few moments until her bright smile swept across her face once more. "How have you been?" I walked over to the couch and motioned for her to join me.

She took her seat and replied, "Dad and I are doing great! We just missed you a lot!" She purposely avoided talking about Karin, which caused me to rise and eyebrow.

"What about our deal sister?" I asked while staring her down. I felt a little and for this interrogation considering I was the cause of her anxious waiting.

"Er… She… She seems happy, but she's not like here. She's here participating in everything, smiling, talking, but it doesn't seem like her soul is here. I don't know, maybe I'm just overthinking. She doesn't seem genuinely happy here." I was not expecting such an honest answer. I just smiled and patted Yuzu on the head.

"Let me see what's up." I stood up and smiled again, "I'm not going anywhere this time without telling you." With that, I headed upstairs.

Karin's P.O.V.

Even with my earphones in at the highest possible without breaking my eardrums, I could still sense it when my brother was coming up the stairs towards my room. He was always bad at concealing his reiatsu. I just sighed as I felt the door open and my brother stepped inside. "You going to talk to me about my behavior since it seems to be bothering Yuzu?" I already knew how Yuzu thought of me.

Ichigo just stood there looking at me, as if trying to figure out a puzzle. I hear him mumble something like, "Women…" I refrained from rolling my eyes. "Let's fight. Now that Yuzu knows I'm home and everything, if I tell her that I want to spend time with each of you individually, she'll let us go. We can say we're gonna have dinner outside too."

I heard everything, but something was bothering me. As soon as my brother came in, the unknown voice stopped talking leaving only Miyuki wondering what was wrong with me. I needed to do something whether I liked it or not. "Sure… but you said something about Toshirou right? I don't even know the guy. You also said that I'm not really "certified" so I can get into some trouble if he finds out since he's a captain." I was tired of doing nothing but spending every second in my room. I needed to do something to stop thinking.

"It's fine! He'll be totally fine with it. I think…" He looked away at that.

"Ha, you only think?" I didn't really care anymore; I just wanted to get out of this suffocating room. "Let's go then. You can bring your friend too. I'll just wear something to cover my face, just in case."

Toshirou's P.O.V.

I couldn't think of any explanation as to why Ichigo wouldn't go back to Seireitei. He's left his family before without any regret, I don't see why… I should go find him. You're struggling.

Obviously! Don't point out the frickin' obvious!

Oh? Someone's touchy touchy today. What's bothering you? Hyourinmaru can hear my thoughts so I don't understand why I should answer. Oh, I felt it.

It's over there, to the right.

"What the hell is that idiot doing?" I muttered. Ichigo was letting off a lot of reiatsu that it could be attracting almost every hollow in the vicinity. I transformed and shunpoed to where that blathering fool was. Upon arriving, I immediately found that orange hair and kicked him. "What are you doing?" I demanded to know.

"Well, this was just the quickest way to get your attention and kill hollows at the same time." Ichigo stated like it was obvious.

"Oh, I heard about the pathetic way you got hit by a hollow." I kept a chuckle in.

"Shut up, would you? I called you here for a reason."

"Which is?" I asked impatiently.

"I want you to observe this fight." With that, Ichigo turned around and seemed to start to stretch.

"Fight? With who?" I asked. Her. I turned to wear Hyourinmaru nodded, and I spun to see a woman with long jet-black hair that caught my breath with how beautiful it looked. It wasn't a normal person though. They were in Shinigami form with no division symbol on her arm. She was facing away from me, but I could tell that she was wearing something to hide her face form me. Woot woo, the old dragon whistled. Isn't she a looker?

That's not the important question here. Do you know who she is? I asked while still mesmerized by her looks and grace from the way that she was warming up.

Nope! I have no ide- WAIT! The voice resonated inside my head making me want to hit him.

What? I was getting annoyed.

Not telling! That stupid dragon knew who it was. Damn it. Who is it?

"You ready for this Toshirou? I haven't versed her yet, so I have no idea how good she is." Ichigo yelled, his arms lighting up with excitement.

How did I get stuck here, watching this match, without even getting the chance to ask whom that girl is? I sat down on the grass, waiting.

Watch. You'll learn something. I would learn something if you fucking told me who it is! The dragon didn't respond.

Fine. I'll observe. I watched as the female stood up from stretching on the ground, but I couldn't see her expression, which was covered with a ridiculous looking bandana. I almost laughed, but then stopped when I heard her voice. "Let's begin already." It was clear, smooth, kind of high, but melodic… and familiar. I narrowed my eyes on her, trying to recall any memories of that voice. All thoughts of that washed away though when Ichigo went in for the attack.
