Chapter 20

Jellal Fernandes was pissed. He was royally pissed off and he couldn't find any outlet for his anger. He was in the school building, staying in the shadow and leaning against the wall beside the window, looking at those people outside who was so cheery and happy unlike him. It was a fun day to begin with but seeing Erza together with Sasuke earlier made his blood boiled. The taunting from Haruno Sakura only made him riled up further. He was not a fool, he knew what Sakura was trying to do given her feeling towards Sasuke. He knew she wanted him to get close to Erza again so that she could have Sasuke to herself. And Jellal did want Erza back together with him at any cost.

A flash of scarlet at the school yard caught his attention and his eyes narrowed when he saw Erza and Sasuke sitting under the shade of a tree together with a few of their friends, smiling and chatting like nothing was wrong. He saw Sasuke grabbing Erza's hand and showed it to the others and he felt like murdering the Uchiha heir. How dare he touch her like that? He seethed inside. Blinded by his rage, he didn't notice the lack of protest from Erza's side at the gesture as she merely looked down in embarrassment.

Jellal never forgot about Erza since their unfortunate break up. He thought about her every single day. He knew it was hard to get back in her good graces and Ultear's presence in his life didn't help his situation. He couldn't break up with Ultear. No, not yet. Not until he took over his family's business. His father would retire soon and he would be in control of everything. Till then, he had to do everything his parents said like an obedient child.

Jellal would explain it all to Erza. He would make her see reason. He knew that she still cared about him and they could be happy together like before. They only needed to wait out for two or three years before he took over the company and they could announce their relationship to the world. He needed to explain it to her so that she could understand it.

"Excuse me"

Jellal was startled at the sudden interruption and he slowly turned around to see a blushing petite girl standing nervously before him, clutching a wrapped box close to her chest.

"I'm sorry if I'm bothering you, I-"

The girl looked down to her feet as she fidgeted nervously, her face becoming redder by the second. Jellal instantly knew what it was all about. He did experience scene like this all the time after all. "No you're not," he replied gently as his cunning mind conjured up a plan. "What can I do for you?" He asked friendly.

The girl stared adorably at him with a smile on her face. "I-I prepared this bento for you. Please accept it!" She exclaimed as she held out the bento towards him, closing her eyes tight in embarrassment for being so forward.

Sometimes having fangirls were not so bad after all, he thought with a smirk. This girl was about to be a pawn he could use to do his bidding. "Thank you," he replied with a gentle smile as he took the box from her trembling hand. He watched as the pathetic girl practically swooned over him. These foolish girls could be easily deceived and manipulated because they were so blinded by their star struck feeling to see the underlying pretense underneath.

"I'm glad that you accept it," she said shyly. "I hope you enjoy the food. I'll see you again Jellal," she uttered before she made a move to turn away from him.

"Wait," Jellal said. The girl turned back towards him excitedly. "What's your name?" He asked feigning an interest, and she looked like she was ready to burst in tears because of happiness.

"I'm Ayumi," she whispered gently.

"Nice to meet you Ayumi," Jellal said. "Can I ask you for help though? You see, Mr Gildarts wants to see Erza Scarlet asap and he asks me to find her earlier but I don't feel too well right now. Can you deliver the message to her instead?"

The girl Ayumi was excited at the prospect of helping her crush. "Yes!" She answered enthusiastically.

Jellal beamed. "I'm counting on you then," he said. "Please tell her that Mr Gildarts wants to meet her at the student council room as soon as possible. I'm going to get some rest and hopefully your food will make me feel better," he said with a sugary smile as he walked away from the heavily blushing girl with a waved of his hand.

"Hey guys, let's take a rest under the shade for a while. It's getting too hot and I'm a bit tired," Sasuke suggested to his friends after they visited almost every booth and stall at the schoolyard.

"I agree," Naruto said as he began to walk towards the direction of the nearest tree there. The others consisted of Sasuke, Erza, Natsu, Gray, Juvia and Lucy followed after his footsteps and sat on the grass, trying to hide from the glaring sun.

"Wah, this is so delicious," Mira exclaimed as she slurped the milk shake Naruto bought for her earlier. "Thank you Naruto for buying this for me," she thanked him with a beaming smile.

"Anything for a beautiful lady," he answered suavely with a wink earning a heavy blush from the white haired girl. Naruto heard the snicker coming from Sasuke's direction and he rolled his eyes at the youngest Uchiha.

"Seriously Naruto, seeing you flirting with a girl made me feel so weird," Natsu commented. It was Naruto's time to blush at his twin's comment. Sometimes he just wanted to knock Natsu unconscious for being so blunt. Yes he was flirting but Natsu didn't have to point out the obvious. It made him feel awkward all of a sudden.

"You're one to talk Natsu, hearing you saying sweet things to Lucy chills me to the bone," he countered. Gray hollered uncontrollably when he heard that, clutching his side trying to cease his laughter with no success.

Naruto saw the scowl on Natsu's face and he only smirked in return at his twin. Payback's a bitch!

"What are you laughing at you stripper? Like you and Juvia are any better," Natsu retaliated, pointing his finger dangerously at Gray who was still laughing at him.

"Yeah right flame-brain," Gray said in between his chuckle with a cocky smirk.

Sasuke decided to throw in his two cents. "Hn, you guys are so hopeless," Sasuke muttered in amusement.

It was a mistake on his part as all attentions were on him and Natsu took the chance to vent his frustration at him. "And you," he pointed his finger accusingly at Sasuke. "What's up with you and Erza? You're being too cozy with her," he stated.

Now this is interesting, Naruto couldn't help but thought. Natsu's blunt nature could be useful too sometimes. He saw the interested look on everyone's face but Sasuke ever the cool man that he was, was unfazed at the sudden question.

"Erza and I?" Sasuke stated as he took Erza's hand in his. "We're together so I have every right to act cozy with her," he said with a smirk on his face.

"What?!" The girls exclaimed in shock, while Erza looked down to her lap to hide her blushing face.

Now everything makes sense between the two of them, Naruto thought silently. Their weird behavior, Sasuke acting clingy and all, that was because they were a couple.

"About time you two," Gray commented with a chuckle.

Naruto agreed with Gray. About time they did something about their feeling. It was obvious to everyone that they harbored feelings for each other. He saw Mira leaned closer to Erza with a naughty smirk on her face. "Erza, I expect you to tell me the full story soon," she said teasingly complete with an evil cackled thrown her way.

Erza was flustered as she waved her hands around comically. "There's nothing to say," she protested while her face was rivaling her hair as the second went by.

"Oh come on Erza. There is nothing to be embarrassed about," Lucy exclaimed excitedly. "We need to go out sometimes and have a girl time together. Gossip is the main event on the list," she said getting more enthusiastic about it.

"Count me in," Mira piped in raising her hand.

"Me too," Juvia agreed looking excited at the prospect of having a girl time together. Naruto let out an amused chuckle at their childish behavior.

Sasuke rolled his eyes at the girl's antic. He could never understand the opposite sex for their need to gossip.

"Hey, the dance is three days away. We need to find beautiful dress to wear on that day," he heard Lucy reminded the other girls. He himself almost forgot about the ball that was going to be held on the last day of the festive. Now that he thought about it, he needed to find a new suit for the ball and a date to accompany him. But he was not worried about the latter. He expected Erza to go there with him since they were a couple now. As if he would let her went there with anyone else but him. He looked towards his girlfriend as she was stuck in the conversation about what kind of dress they would wear for the ball.

"Damn, I also need a new tux," Natsu mumbled.

"What happen to the old one?" Naruto asked, frowning at his younger twin.

Natsu stared at him with a blank face. "It got caught on fire," he said plainly.

Everyone just stared incredulously at Natsu and Sasuke sighed at his friend's answer. "I don't even want to know how fire has anything to do with it," he commented, leaning against the tree bark feeling at peace having his friends surrounding him, talking, relaxing and having fun like nothing could go wrong.

At the corner of his eyes, he saw someone approaching his group and he turned to see a girl with shoulder length hair walking in their direction.

"Excuse me," the girl said once she was near enough to be heard. Sasuke saw the girl looked at Erza in particular so she must have some kind of business with her. "Erza, Mr Gildarts wants to see you asap in the student council room," she said shyly.

Erza smiled appreciatively at the girl thanking her in return. "Thank you. I'll go see him now," she said with a nod. The shy girl nodded in return and went on her way before she disappeared among the other students. Erza turned to him expectantly with an apologetic smile and Sasuke could only shrug in return. She did promise to spend the rest of the day with him but duty calls and he could never hold it against her. Sasuke gave her a small smile to show that he didn't mind it and he understands that it was her job as a student council president. "Well, that's my cue to leave. I'll see you guys later," she said.

Sasuke's eyes trailed on her form as she stood up and walked towards the school building. He could hear Naruto mumbling something to him but he could barely hear it as his eyes was focused on Erza's slender form disappearing inside the school building.

"Sasuke!" He heard Naruto exclaimed in an annoyed tone.

"I'm sorry, what?" He asked distractedly.

"Seriously, you are so whipped my friend," Naruto chided with a shake of his head.

Now he was the one annoyed. "What?" He demanded.

"Gray suggested we go out to find some suits for the ball," Naruto uttered pointedly. "The girls won't let us go with them saying that they want to surprise us with their dress."

Sasuke just shrugged nonchalantly. "No problem," he answered. He didn't mind it at all but at least wanted to know the color of Erza's dress so that he could wear something that match her. They had a little discussion on their outing, suggesting the best place to go to for the best clothes. Sasuke paid them no mind as his eyes trailed around the schoolyard, taking in the joyful atmosphere. That was when he saw his teacher going from one booth to another in high spirits. He frowned uneasily thinking why Mr. Gildarts was here when he was supposed to meet with Erza at the student council room.

Without any warning, he stood up from where he sat and went towards the jovial teacher, ignoring the call from his friends.

"Sir," he called out to his teacher.

Mr. Gildarts looked at him with smile. "What can I do for you Sasuke?" He asked chewing on the dango he had on his hand.

"Nothing but aren't you suppose to meet with Erza at the student council room?" He asked with confusion.

It was his teacher's turn to frown in confusion. "No, I don't have any meeting with Erza this afternoon. We already discuss what needed to be discussed when I see her this morning," he said striking up a thinking pose.

"I see." Sasuke couldn't shake the uneasy feeling he had at the revelation. "My mistake then," he said before he excused himself and walked towards the school building intent on finding Erza.

Erza walked along the hallway in a happy mood. Spending time with her group of friends again sure was enjoyable. It did wonders to her mood. She was on her way to the student council room when she found her path blocked by the familiar blue haired boy.

"Jellal," she uttered his name. "What are you doing here?" She asked with a frown.

"To talk," he replied shortly.

Erza resisted the urge to groan at his response. "There's nothing to talk about Jellal," she said before she walked pass him to her destination. But before she could step away any further, her arm was grabbed from behind and she was whirled around so that she was facing her offender. "Let go of me Jellal," she hissed at him struggling to be released from his hold.

Jellal paid her no mind as he grabbed both of her arms in a tight hold. "I don't like you getting close to Uchiha Sasuke," he hissed back at her.

Erza was fuming. How dare he told her what to do. "That's none of your business Jellal, I can get close to whoever I want."

Erza was not prepared for the glare he sent her way. Fear started to creep inside her at the way Jellal was acting. Never before she saw him with that kind of look on his face. He looked like he was about to lose his mind and they were alone in the hallway. No one was going to stop him should he acted out of control.

"Three years Erza. Three years before I take over my family's business and then we can love each other freely without any objection from my parents. Ultear won't be in the picture anymore and then we can be happy. Till then, all you need to do is be patient," he said in a dangerous tone.

"Jellal, we're not together anymore. You can't force me like this," she said, wincing in pain as his fingers were digging into her upper arms as he tightened his hold on her. She tried to get away from him but it was futile seeing that Jellal was a lot stronger than her.

"Yes I can, you're mine Erza. You'll always be mine," he hissed with a possessive look on his face.

Sasuke was furious. He felt rage threatening to overwhelm him at the sight he was seeing. Here he was looking for Erza when he saw the vision of her getting manhandled by her freaking ex boyfriend, that bastard Jellal Fernandes. He should have known that Jellal had anything to do with tricking Erza into believing that Mr. Gildarts wanted to see her.

"Let go of me Jellal," he heard Erza said.

Okay, Jellal Fernandes really was asking for a beating, Sasuke thought grudgingly as he walked faster towards them. Erza was the first one to notice his presence and he could see the relief in her eyes when she saw him there. Without any warning, he pried Jellal's hand away from Erza and roughly pushed him away from her. "Don't you dare put your hands on her again," Sasuke warned him dangerously with a matching glare.

"This has got nothing to you Uchiha," Jellal countered with the same intensity. "Stay out of it."

"This has become my problem when you keep messing with my girlfriend Fernandes," Sasuke pointed out the facts. He was satisfied to see the shocked look on Fernandes' face when he heard about it. "I'm warning you, stay away from Erza," he warned before he took Erza's hand and walked away, leaving Jellal Fernandes to stare at their retreating back with a murderous glare.

Erza was glad that Sasuke was there to break Jellal away from her. She was getting really nervous about Jellal's behavior and hopefully with the revelation that she was together with Sasuke, he would stop pursuing her in the future. Erza watched Sasuke's back as she let herself being dragged away towards the student council room. As soon as they were inside, Sasuke closed the door and wrapped his arms around her, burying his face at the crook of her neck, hugging her tight against his form.

"Sasuke," she whispered as she wrapped her own arms around him. They stood like that for a while in a comfortable silence.

"Are you okay?" He asked as he released her, his eyes roamed around her form looking for any injury. "I'm sorry I was not there sooner," he whispered, gently cupping her cheek with his palm.

Erza leaned into his warm touch. She felt safe now that he was here with her. "I'm okay Sasuke. Don't worry about me too much," she replied, knowing that Sasuke could be such a worrywart sometimes.

She saw the frown taking place on his handsome features. "How can I not worry? That bastard dares to manhandle you like that," he growled. "Next time I see him act like that towards you, I'm beating his ass to a pulp," he said with a dark tone and Erza knew that he was serious. In the short time that she knew him, Erza found that Sasuke was very protective and possessive of someone he cared about and she knew that he would carried out with his threat.

"I'm sure he won't bother me anymore now that he knows I'm with you," she whispered gently. "So don't think too much about it okay," she said with a faint smile on her lips. She saw that he relented to her gentle persuasion as he let out a small sigh with a shrug of his shoulders. Erza gave him a peck on his lips to take his mind of the recent event. But a simple peck on the lip was not enough to quench his desire for her. She saw his hungry eyes trailed to her lips and she knew that Sasuke was not thinking too much about Jellal now that other thing occupied his mind. Sasuke swiftly closed their distance and swooped down to steal another kiss from her.

Erza returned his kiss with fervor and it was not long before the kiss turned passionate. She felt his hand roamed across her back while the other was buried in her scarlet lock, guiding her head to get a better angle to kiss her. Erza's own hand was buried in his surprisingly soft raven hair, while the other boldly roamed across his chest, teasing him with her innocent ministration. She whimpered when his hand tightened on her hair, tilting her head so that her milky neck was exposed to his hungry eyes. She let out a breathy moan when she felt his warm lips began attacking her neck, nipping and sucking she was sure it would bruise later. "Sasuke," she whispered breathily at the pleasure he was causing to her body. She felt his larger hand wandered across her stomach and she knew that they needed to stop before either of them did something they would regret later on.

"Sasuke," Erza gripped his hair tighter in her hand to distract him from her neck, to warn him to stop. She was glad that he seemed to be aware of her intention and stopped his attention on her neck.

Sasuke looked at her with a lustful gaze. "I'm sorry I got carried away," he whispered as he set his forehead on hers. Placing a hand on his chest, she could feel his heart pounding heavily inside. Erza gripped his shirt tightly and nodded at him in return, not trusting her voice to speak any words as she tried to control her labored breathing.

"I love you Erza," Sasuke whispered lovingly with a special smile he wore only for her.

Erza felt her heart melted at his declaration of love. She always did every time he uttered those words to her. "I love you too Sasuke," she replied hugging him close to her.

Jellal walked aimlessly in the school building trying to cool his head. It was hard to do so after that revelation that Erza was officially dating Uchiha. He cursed the Sasuke Uchiha in his head. That guy really messed up his plan to reconcile with Erza. Jellal stopped on his track when he saw someone blocking his path. Too consumed in his rage, he didn't notice that someone was standing in his path before it was too late. He noticed the blob of pink haired and the beautiful face of the owner. Her attractiveness however was dulled because of the murderous rage she wore on her face.

Haruno Sakura was beyond pissed and he didn't know what could have sent her into such an emotional state. And he didn't give a fuck about it. "What do you want Haruno, I'm not in the mood for your mind game," he growled attempted move away from her when she grabbed his arm halting him on his track.

"What do I want? What do I want?" She yelled in rage. She was lucky that no one was around to see her throwing a temper tantrum or her reputation sure was going to be tainted by her immature act. "What I want is for Erza Scarlet to break up with Sasuke!" She screamed looking at him with narrowed eyes.

Jellal raised an elegant eyebrow at her, wondering how she knew that those two were dating. Erza and Sasuke didn't really tell the public about their new status.

"I was there when you have your argument with Erza and Sasuke," she said as if she was reading his mind. Well, that explains how she knew about it. "This is unacceptable," she released his arm and stared at him with a determined face. "And I know you feel the same way too," she spoke a little calmer now. "We both want the same thing Jellal, we can help each other out," she said with a strange glint in her eyes.

Jellal didn't know what to make of Haruno Sakura. Seeing her little outburst of emotion just now, he could say that she was a little unstable. She was mentally fragile, but he knew what she said was right. They both wanted the same thing and they could help each other out. Jellal didn't really trust Haruno Sakura but for now, he would hear what she had in store for Erza and Sasuke.
