Chapter 25

"No!" She yelled as her body was thrown harshly on the comfy bed.

Erza kicked, bit and scratched at her assailant but to no avail. No matter what she did, she was still overpowered by the azure haired man. Erza cringed as Jellal stared at her with malice. He gave her no mercy as he tore at her clothes and did the unspeakable to her, no matter how much she cried and pleaded for him to stop.

"You won't be able to look at him in the face by the time I'm finished with you Erza," he cruelly whispered to her ear.

"No!"

Erza jerked upright on the bed with a frightened expression on her face. Her breath was labored and her eyes frantically searched around the room to make sure that she was not at the forsaken place anymore.

"It's a dream," she whispered to herself trying to calm her breath. "It's just a dream," she whispered again to reassure herself that she was alone in her house. "It's just a dream," she muttered again and again until she was able to slow down her racing heart, calming herself from her panic attack. Ever since that day with Jellal, she was having trouble sleeping and when she finally did, it was filled with nightmares. She even woke up screaming once, trapped in her nightmare thinking that Jellal was trying to hurt her.

She looked at her bedside table. The blaring neon light showed that it was only 5 in the morning. It was still too early but there was no way that she was able to go back to sleep. She laid back in the darkness of the room, lost in her thought. Thinking of nothing in particular, she just laid there enjoying the quietness. It calmed her mind even for a little while.

Suddenly, the light coming from her phone reflected on the ceiling, blinding her for a moment. She took it and saw at the caller id.

Sasuke.

Her heart clenched at the sight of his name. Involuntarily, tears filled her vision and freely flow down her cheek. He must be worried sick about her. She never answered his call nor replied to his message, and there were tons of them.

She really missed him. She wanted to hear his voice telling her that everything was going to be okay but she couldn't. She would not be able to control her emotion and break down the moment she heard his voice. He would know that something was wrong.

"Break up with him Erza. You don't want to know what I'm going to do with the video if you don't leave him."

Jellal's threat rang in her ear.

Sasuke would be coming back tomorrow and she still didn't have a clue on how to break up with him. She was going to hurt him, the one she loved the most. He was going to be very devastated when she broke his heart. He was going to hate her for it.

Erza placed the phone under her pillow as she sobbed uncontrollably on her bed, all the while thinking why bad thing always happened to her when she found a glimmer of happiness in her life.

.

.

Sasuke sighed when his call was once again gone to the voicemail.

From where he stood leaning on the balcony, his eyes travelled to the party held inside the grand ballroom. The party was held to celebrate the success of their job and also as a farewell party. Everyone involved for the job this time was going to leave tomorrow, including him. So they took the chance to enjoy themselves and mingled around, having a good time. Even Suigetsu was enjoying himself. But Sasuke couldn't find it in himself to join the ecstatic crowd. His mind was on Erza. She was the one occupying his mind day and night. He raked his brain, trying to find a reason why the red headed girl was not picking up her phone but he found none.

"Sasuke there you are."

He was startled when he heard his name being spoken off. He saw the familiar pink haired coming towards him with a smile on her face. Sasuke gave her a smile of his own. It was surprising but he guessed Sakura did change since the last time he saw her in Fairy Tail High. She was being professional and he had no reason to purposely avoid her anymore.

"Hey Sakura," he greeted her but made no sign to move from his position. "You look beautiful," he complimented her. She did look beautiful with her knee length black dress that looked like a second skin on her body.

She lowered her face shyly. "Thanks," she said with a blush. "What are you doing here alone?" "Everybody is looking for you," she informed.

Sasuke shrugged in response. "Just thinking," he replied. "And I don't feel like partying right now," he added.

"I understand," she said. "But it's the last day we will be here. At least greet some people before the party ends. And we're the guest here, it's impolite to keep to yourself like this," she reminded him.

Sasuke let out a heavy sighed. "Alright, I get what you mean," he surrendered.

Sakura beamed in satisfaction. "Well what are you waiting for? Let's go," she said before she unexpectedly slipped her hand around his arm and dragged him inside.

They ended up going to the bar first to get their drinks. After that, Sakura practically dragged him around and went to greet the other model from various countries. Sasuke had to admit, it was fun getting to know other model. They were all very professional during work and friendly outside of it. He spent the full hour meeting and chatting with different people and they were all marvelous.

And the night just kept getting better. He was truly enjoying himself. The thought of Erza briefly placed at the back of his mind.

.

.

Sasuke was talking to a girl his age from England when Sakura suddenly came and linked her hand around his arm. Sasuke stared at their interlocked hands before giving her a raised eyebrow.

"Sasuke come with me for a moment," she said with a sweet and eager smile.

He turned to the he was talking to earlier and flashed her a smile. "Excuse me," he said with an apologetic tone.

Sakura began to lead him away from the crowd and walked towards a room at the back. He wondered what this was all about but he held his tongue. He figured Sakura would tell him later. They passed several people making their way to the ballroom where the party was held but he paid them no mind.

Reaching their destination, Sasuke stepped inside the room with Sakura in tow. He turned to look at the girl with confusion. "Why do you bring me here Sakura?" He asked without ssuspicions.

Sakura suddenly grabbed his tie and pulled at him hard making him collide with her body. The impact sent them tumbling towards the sofa in the middle of the room. They fell on it with his body covering Sakura's smaller form.

"What are you doing?" Sasuke asked harshly as he tried to get up but Sakura clutched at the lapel of his suit and unceremoniously planted her lips on his in a hungry kiss. Shocked at her bold and unexpected act, Sasuke's eyes widened and Sakura took the chance to deepen the kiss.

Sounds of clicking were heard and being in the business as he was, he was familiar with the sound of pictures being snapped. Coming out of his stupor, Sasuke harshly break away from her deathly grip and get up from their precarious position. What the hell do you think you're doing? He demanded, his eyes blazing in anger as he looked at the smirking pink haired. He realized it too late that he was being played by the cunning Haruno. He should have known better than to trust that she was a changed woman.

Turning to the source of the clicking sound, he found a man with a camera standing not too far from him.

"You," he pointed at the man. "Give me the camera," he ordered. But the unknown man only smirked at him with a smug face.

"Sorry man, no can do," he said before he tailed out of the room before Sasuke could even take a step towards him. The man was lucky since he was near the door for he could make a quick escape.

Sasuke dashed to the door and saw no trace of the man. "Damn!" He cursed as he knew that there was no way that he was able to catch up to the man in throng of people in the grand ballroom.

He turned back to Sakura angrily. "Is this your doing Sakura?" He asked even though he already knew the answer for it. "I thought you've changed," he said, disappointed and furious with her attitude.

"My love for you will never change Sasuke," she replied as she rose from her seat, walking towards him with a slow step. "I will always love you," she declared placing her hands on his chest, looking at him with a seductive smile on her lips.

Sasuke couldn't believe it. All this time, she was only acting around him to catch him on guard. She was waiting for tonight all along. He should have listened to Suigetsu the first time. Sakura would not change in the blink of an eye. He grabbed her hand and harshly removed it away from his body. She disgusted him. "This isn't love Sakura. This is an obsession. You'll never know what love is if you keep your fixation on me," he told her.

"Love? Obsession?" She scoffed. "It is the same thing to me," she replied. "You're the one for me. We're meant to be together. Why can't you see that?" She yelled. It was lucky that the place was rowdy and filled with music, if not someone would probably heard her screaming at him.

"I'm not," he countered. "The only girl for me is Erza," he declared coldly at her.

He saw her eyes narrowed dangerously at the mention of Erza's name. "Erza, Erza, Erza"! She shrieked in frustration. Her face contorted in anger and her eyes glinted with hatred. "I'm sick and tired of hearing her name from your lips. What is so special about that bitch that everybody seems to fall for her? Is it because of her blowjob's skill?" She mocked him.

"You watch your mouth Sakura," Sasuke warned her.

"Or what?" She interjected hotly. "You're going to hit me?" She sneered at him. Her face was red with rage.

Sasuke only stood in silence. If only Haruno Sakura was a man, he wouldn't think twice about busting her face for badmouthing Erza. But his mother and father raised him to be better than that. "What are you going to do with those photos?" He asked instead through gritted teeth. "It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the photographer earlier is on your payroll."

Sakura's face changed instantly when she heard that.

Bipolar bitch! Sasuke thought to himself.

"You'll see," she said mysteriously with gleeful expression before she sauntered around him and went straight to the order, chuckling along the way. With frustration, his eyes followed her form until she exited the room and disappeared behind the door.

Sasuke loosened the tie around his neck and took deep breath to control his temper. He really felt like punching and breaking something right now. He was in for a serious trouble this time. He knew it. Suigetsu would probably kill him this time around if another episode like last time with Sakura made it to the news. And knowing that psychotic bitch, that was what she intended to do. Only this time, it was going to be much worse.

"Damn!" Sasuke cursed. "Suigetsu is going to kill me!" He moaned.

To make it worse, he didn't know how Erza was going to take it when she saw those photos. It was going to break her heart.

.

.

Erza sat at the island staring at the strawberry cheesecake she placed on the plate. She didn't feel like eating, she hadn't had the appetite for it. Even her favorite food in the world didn't manage to make her to eat. Day by day, she was feeling weaker and weaker. She slept less and barely had anything in her stomach before she threw up.

Dread filled her entire being the first time she threw up. She thought she was pregnant. A quick trip to the pharmacy and three pregnancy test kit later showed negative result. No one could imagine the relief she felt after that. She was always on pill as Sasuke and her was sexually active but anything could happen. She might have forgotten to take the pill or something. She wouldn't know what to do if that was the case and she ended up pregnant with Jellal's child. That was a scary thought.

Didn't want to dwell on the subject any longer, she reached for the spoon and took a bite on her cake. She tasted the sweet the creation. It tasted the same as ever but why was it so hard to swallow it?

A buzzing sound distracted her and she glanced at her phone expecting to see Sasuke's name on it but that was not the case. An unknown number was displayed on her phone where the sender sent her a message. Without thinking of anything, she opened the content to see a picture staring back at her. Her eyes widened in shock when she noticed the two people featured in the picture. Her phone dropped to the floor and she hastily got up from her seat to her room and opened the notebook Sasuke left in her apartment. She turned it on and went straight to the search engine typing Sasuke's name in it. Not a second later, his face popped up into view with the latest news about him.

Erza's eyes trailed to the top headlines.

Breaking news: Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno Caught in a Provocative Situation

Uchiha and Haruno Heir Secretly Dating?

Sasuke Uchiha and Erza Scarlet Break Up?

Clicking the top headlines. More pictures assailed her eyes and they were all of Sasuke and Sakura caught in a steamy lip locking. Tears started to fall down and in no time Erza was sobbing as she read the story in it. There was other links redirected to another page telling how they were being lovey dovey in Paris. There were pictures of them walking side by side at Paris on an outing and there were also pictures of them dancing in the night under the star.

Erza couldn't control herself.

It hurts.

She knew that she had no right to feel that way anymore since she was dead set on breaking up with him albeit it was against her will, but it hurts seeing him with another woman.

Maybe it was for the best. She could use this as a reason to break up with him. If he already had another woman, then maybe their break up wouldn't be a blow to him.

"This is for the best," she decided with a broken heart. All she had to do was faced him and told him her decision.

.

.

Sasuke threw his phone against the wall in anger. He couldn't help himself when he saw the ridiculous news about him and Sakura. This was all Sakura's doing. This was her endgame from the start. He really fell for that bitch's trap.

The door to his hotel room suddenly opened and he could see the furious looking face of Suigetsu staring back at him. He saw his manager looked at the damaged phone lying uselessly on the ground before staring pointedly at him.

"You want to tell me what the hell is going on?" Suigetsu asked calmly, but Sasuke could clearly see that he was restraining himself from going ballistic. Sasuke applauded the man for having that much self control for a short tempered person. Or he simply didn't see the news just yet. "And I don't mean the damn phone," he continued. "Why on earth am I seeing pictures of you and Sakura first thing in the morning eating each other's faces?" He demanded, his voice getting louder and louder towards the end.

Eating each other's faces? Sasuke cringed when he heard that. "That bitch set it all up," Sasuke simply said. He was getting more pissed when he remembered about Sakura.

Suigetsu shook his head in disappointment. "I told you before Sasuke," he told him. "I told you to watch your back and never let your guard down around her." Suigetsu must have the notice the murderous look on his face right now for the manager always toned down his temper whenever Sasuke was royally pissed off.

"I know," he said sitting on the edge of the bed with a defeated sigh. "I'm sorry," he apologized. He knew he screwed up this time, and it was going to be a major pain in the ass to clear up the misunderstanding. Suigetsu was going to have a really hard time doing the damage control this time.

"We'll talk about this later," Suigetsu informed. "For now, we need to get to the airport. This place is going to be crowded with reporters soon so we better check out early," he said.

Sasuke only nodded in obedience. He was right anyway. They both proceeded to pack up their bag and they were finished in no time.

"You know what Sasuke," Suigetsu suddenly uttered. "That picture looks pretty convincing. What do you think Erza will think when she sees that?"

Sasuke didn't bother replying to the question. He knew she was going to be sad for sure.

.

.

Sakura looked outside of the small window from the first class cabin. She was going right now. Too bad that Sasuke was not on the same flight as she was. She wanted to see the expression on his face when he saw he saw her.

A smile adorned her lipstick covered lips. Did he already see the news? They were such a hot topic today. The photographer did a marvelous job at taking their picture in that angle. She wondered what Erza thought about it. She definitely knew about her and Sasuke by now. She purposely sent the red haired girl a pictured message of her and Sasuke kissing. What wouldn't she give to see the heartbroken look on Erza's face when she surf the net and see the story about them?

Sakura thought that Erza ought to thank her. She just gave her one solid excuse to break up with Sasuke after all. Sakura chuckled in amusement. "Congratulations Sakura," she congratulated herself on a job well done. She still couldn't believe that her plan had gone without a hitch. "Your patience, determination, careful planning and execution are worthwhile."

She would definitely get Sasuke. There was no way he was going to deny that they were not in a relationship after what she was about to do. "You really have a devious mind Sakura," she uttered in a carefree manner. She really was in a good mood today. "Erza Scarlet is going to be crushed to pieces and Sasuke is going to be mine," she declared with a maniacal grin on her lips.

It was an hour letter that the plane touched down. Sakura fixed her look before she walked out of the arrival gate. She was waiting for this moment. She knew that reporters would be waiting for arrival because of the gossip on her and Sasuke and she was prepared to give them her answer. Leaving her other suitcases for her manager to handle, she grabbed her handbag and slipped on her dark glasses before she proceeded to the arrival gate. As soon as she stepped out of the gate, flashes of camera were focused on her and the reporters waiting there bombarded her with questions. She smiled warmly at them and faked a shy expression when someone asked her about her intimate picture with Sasuke. They wanted to know the validity of the picture.

"It's true," she said faking an embarrass face. "I am sorry that you all have to see that picture. There's this reporter comes out of nowhere snapping our pictures together. It is supposed to be private, so I am embarrassed that someone leaked it out without thinking about me and Sasuke's privacy."

"So are you and Uchiha Sasuke dating now Miss Haruno?" Someone from the crowd asked.

Sakura nearly grinned when she heard that. "Yes. We've become closer in Paris and we've decided to give us a try," she replied with a blush adorning her face.

"But what about the gossip that Uchiha Sasuke is dating Erza Scarlet, a fellow classmate from Fairy Tail High?"

"They were good friends actually but they were never together in the first place, Miss Erza Scarlet is actually dating a good friend of mine," she supplied them with false information.

"And who might he be?"

"I'm sorry but I don't think I should reveal his name," she replied with an apologetic tone. "It's not my place to tell. I don't want to intrude on their privacy," she said. She saw her manager gestured for her to come along behind the reporters. "I'm sorry but I have to go for now," she excused herself before she walked away from the hoarding reporter and walked towards where her manager was waiting. Those rabid reporters were persistent as they kept tailing her to get some answers but her manager kept them at bay so that she could safely get to the car waiting outside.

Sakura entered the car and let out a relief breath. That went well, she commented. Her lips curled up into a smile. "Now, what are you going to do Erza Scarlet?" She said with glee.

.

.

Erza watched the live and short interview in disbelief. This gossip this time sure was something else. It was understandable since both Sasuke and Sakura was an heir and heiress to business conglomerate. She couldn't help but scoffed at the perfect image Sakura was portraying. She should change her career and become an actress instead. Sakura might have Sasuke in the future but to speak nonsense about her was totally unacceptable.

After that bold declaration, all that was left to do on her part was breaking up with Sasuke. And breaking up with him was what she was going to do once she saw him face to face. If what Sakura was saying was true and it might be true judging from the various pictures of them spending time together in Paris, it was not going to be hard at all for Sasuke to break up with her.

.

.

Sasuke watched the clip about Sakura's interview with blazing eyes. His grip on Suigetsu's phone tightened as he heard the bitch lying through her teeth. He was ready to smash the phone in anger when it was suddenly snatched away from his hand. Sasuke looked at Suigetsu who was sitting beside him with anger.

"This is my phone, not yours to break," he warned. "Furthermore, we're on a plane. Control yourself and don't cause an unnecessary scene," Suigetsu hissed at him.

Sasuke tightened his grip on the armrest instead. It was hard to control himself when he was royally pissed. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "That bitch is lying," he hissed in return.

"Tell me something I don't know," Suigetsu replied. "Seriously, how am I going to do a damage control after this one?" Suigetsu complained with a defeated sigh. "That psycho was clearly prepared. She was a step ahead of us this time. She really planned everything thoroughly, leaving no loop for us to intervene."

"There must be some way to fix this shit," Sasuke grumbled.

Suigetsu looked at him pointedly. "The only way I see you can get out of this mess is if Sakura admit that she planned all these to happen."

Sasuke groaned in frustration at his manager. "How on earth we're going to get her to admit that?"

"Easy," Suigetsu countered. "We get a confession out of her," he said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Sasuke stared dumbly at the snow haired guy. "That doesn't sound so easy at all," he sighed.

.

.

Sasuke walked towards Erza's door in trepidation. He wondered if she saw the news at all. What was her thought on it? His mind was busy simulating the scene on how their meeting would go. Would she be happy when she saw him? Would she be angry? Disappointed?

He had the keys to her house but suddenly he felt inappropriate to just barge in after what had happened. He opted to knock on the door instead. He heard movement from the inside and waited patiently for her to open the door. The door clicked open and he saw her pretty head peeking out from behind it. His lips automatically set in a smile upon seeing her beautiful face.

"Hey," he greeted.

"Sasuke," she breathed his name. "I've been waiting for you," she said before she opened the door wide and let him in.

Sasuke stepped closer trying to kiss her lips. But, Erza turned her face at the last second and his lips connected with her cheek instead. He was crestfallen she didn't let him kiss her when he missed her so much. He missed her warmth, her smell, her smile. He missed everything about her. But he had broken her heart with the news about him and Sakura. He needed to do everything he could to get back in her good grace.

"Erza-"

"There's something I want to talk about."

They spoke at the same time.

"If you're concerned about those gossips about me and Sakura, then don't. It's not true," he said. "She planned all that-"

"I don't care about that Sasuke," Erza interrupted, cutting his words.

Sasuke frowned in confusion. Did it mean that she never believe in those gossips in the first place? His heart soared at the thought. But he saw the conflicted look on her face. She was taking her time to tell him something and he had no idea about what it was about. He saw her taking a deep breath before she stared at him with a determined gaze.

"Let's break up," she uttered firmly.

To be continued
