*Checks pulse* Yep still alive.

Navi: Wow you actually managed to get a chapter out within the same year, impressive.

What's with the annoying sidekicks? Why can't I get some heroes?

CL4PTP: Because everyone wants the heroes so they're booked. All that's left is us annoying sidekicks.

Fan-bloody-tastic, well it could be worse, I could have gotten someone REALLY annoying like OmiCiao.

OmiCiao: Hey guys!

Me, Navi, & CL4PTP: OUT!

Anyway CHYAPTER 5! ONWARD!

Chapter 5: Straw hat Blacksmith

Jenny leaves home

"Wait, WHAT?!" exclaimed the entire village, sans Luffy, who just stood there grinning like the idiot he was. Jenny especially was floored by the proposal. Who is this moron? She thought.

"I said 'Join my crew!'" Luffy repeated.

Jenny couldn't think of anything else to say but, "Why?"

"Well you seem nice," Luffy said, managing to confuse everyone further, hadn't she tried to kill him earlier? "And strong, and we need someone to take care of the cannons, so join my crew!" Well with that kind of logic who could argue with the dense moron?

Well actually thinking about, this really was her best chance to leave. Every other pirate crew turned tail and ran once they heard who her father was, and every marine ship refused because "Fief would kill us if we got his little girl hurt." There was just one person she needed to consult first.

"I'll be right back," Jenny promised, and then she sped away into the village. Luffy and his crew looked confused for a second. Once she had recovered, Nami immediately punched Luffy into the ground and began her tirade.

Edge of Gear Village, a few minutes later

Jenny stood before the only house not connected to the generator network besides her own. She took a nervous breath before knocking. There was silence for a few seconds before the door swung open. There he was, in all his grease stained, partly balding glory.

"Jenny?" Daedalus said gruffly, "What do you want?"

"A pirate crew offered to take me on," She said, watching him to gauge his reaction. He looked her up and down, seeing her damaged clothes and swords.

"Doesn't sound like the whole story," he said, giving her a look. So Jenny told him everything that had happened in the past few hours, starting with the arrival of the pirate crew to Carriol attacking the village and finally her coming to ask him for his blessing.

"My blessing?" Daedalus said eyebrows raised, "So you've decided to go?"

"Well it's my best shot out of here," she said nervously, "Even when you brought me out to the Grand Line you always brought me back. So these pirates are my only way off this island. But I'd feel bad if I didn't ask you first so…" She looked at him pleadingly.

Daedalus sighed before he replied. "I think you're right, no one else is gonna take you off of this island, so you should go." Jenny beamed, this was of the things she liked best about Daedalus, he told you exactly what he wanted to say, not what he knew you wanted to hear, which is what made her know that this was his actual opinion.

"THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!" she exclaimed, jumping to hug him, well his neck really. He nearly barreled over because of how fast she tackled him.

"Yeah, yeah" Daedalus said gruffly, though there was a tinge of affection in his voice. "Don't you have to pack?"

"Oh my gosh, right!" she realized, letting go of him, "I need my tools, my blueprints, my guns, my clothes, my maintenance kit for my legs, there's so much to do!" Then she sped off towards her house yelling, "Thanks again for everything!"

Daedalus stood there for a moment staring at the cloud of dust she had left behind before chuckling, She's gonna shake this world up, I guarantee it. Then he turned back to his shop as he thought grimly, Too bad I won't get to see it.

Town square, two hours later

Jenny returned to the square with all of her worldly possessions in toe to see the red headed girl shouting her captain's ear off, and Carriol and his crew chained up next to the ruined watch tower. The village elder saw her walking with her duffle bags full of her things, and he knew Daedalus had given his approval. She sent him a smile as she made her way over to the pirate crew.

She was just in time to hear Nami say, "And that's why we can't take her with us!" Jenny stopped, shocked. They weren't taking her? She looked at the other pirates. The long nosed kid looked like he completely agreed, the swordsman didn't look like he cared and the captain wasn't listening, fairly obviously.

"I can't join?" Jenny asked quietly, shocking the pirates as they just noticed her presence.

Luffy immediately grinned, "Of course you can!" Nami looked like she was going to explode at him again before Longnose put a hand on her shoulder, at which she deflated giving a disappointed look which said 'Why do I even bother?' The swordsman looked at Jenny like wanted to ask something but was wondering if now was a good time.

"What is it?" Jenny asked him, startling him.

"How did you know who gave me this sword?" he said, shaking his white katana.

"Oh that?" she said, relaxing her arms behind her head, "That's something Daedalus taught me, usually I can just use it to find where people are, even if I can't see them, but sometimes if I focus, I can pick up on people's surface thoughts." She gave him a lopsided grin, "Of course with thoughts as loud as yours, I could hear them even if I wasn't paying attention." He bristled at that. He was sure it was an insult, but he didn't know how.

"That's AMAZING!" Luffy yelled, eyes twinkling, "A psychic!" He looked at her in awe, which was a little creepy.

"Anyway, you want to get your stuff to the ship? The villagers gave us the supplies we needed for some reason," Nami said, resigned to her fate. Jenny smiled, the villagers wanted her to have a good journey so they decided to help the pirates. That was sweet of them.

"I'll be along shortly, I have one more thing to take care of," she said, gesturing her head towards Carriol. They nodded and walked towards their ship, as she made her way over to the chained up captain. He looked up as she approached.

"Well well, going with the filthy pirates are we? Daddy would be so disappointed," Carriol taunted, the wound on his chest preventing him from using his usual volume.

"Why did you attack this village? Who gave you your orders?" She asked, looking down at the gorilla like man in disgust.

"We were here to capture Iron Heart Daedalus, former blacksmith of Pirate King Gold Roger," he explained, "As for who gave us these orders, why, it was your dear old dad, told us to use any means necessary."

Jenny's eyes narrowed, "I don't believe you."

"You don't have to believe me, it's the truth," he said, obviously enjoying her reaction, "Your father has a reputation in the Marines of being a cold and heartless bastard, kid. He's not the shining white knight you think he is."

"Shut up! I'm done with you," She said turning, and was about to walk away but decided to add, "The villagers have probably put in call to headquarters so they can ask you what the hell you think you were doing." Then she stormed off.

Carriol grinned as he pulled something out of his pocket and looked down at the small golden object

"Any means necessary."

On the Going Merry

"THIS IS THE CUTEST SHIP EVER!" Jenny exclaimed, nuzzling the sheep figure head. The pirates (sans Luffy) sweat dropped. This wasn't how they expected the daughter of a feared and respected marine to act.

She then turned towards them as she set her bags on the deck, "So who are you guys? I never asked your names."

"I'm Nami," Said the redhead, "I'm the navigator, and I'm just on this crew until I get 100,000,000 Berris."

"I'm Captain Ussop! Leader of a fleet of 10 thousand ships!" Longnose proclaimed, striking a pose. Jenny seriously doubted his claim.

"He's our resident liar," the swordsman said, causing Ussop to squawk indignantly, "I'm Zoro, I'm going to be the world's greatest swordsman." Jenny nodded, that was one hell of a goal; she knew how strong the man the man who currently held that title was. Finally, she turned to the captain.

"I'm Luffy, and I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!" he grinned. She was wrong, THAT was one hell of a goal. Jenny would have laughed, or called him stupid if it weren't for the absolute surety in his voice when he said it.

As it was, she just smiled and said, "Awesome!" she looked around at the ship, "So shall we be off?"

Luffy laughed, "Sure! SET SAIL!"

And thus began the craziest adventure of Jenny's life.

AAAAAAND DONE

Sorry this took so long, I've just started College again and I was working all summer. But I'm back bitches!

But I've got a question for you guys.

I'm thinking of starting up a new story that is the same fandom as the first story I posted on this site but with people, and superheroes… and less OC's. In a modern setting. Let me know what you think. Anyway, guys?

Navi: Favorite if you can!

CL4PTP: Review if you want!
