Little Miss Angel
Chapter 11
Ball at Heart Castle part 1
The forest shifted into the bleak prison I call home. The Jokers carried me through the halls of frightened prisoners who crawled to a corner of their cell the minute they saw the Jokers. We entered the bedroom and Black sat me on the couch. "Hey! Hey Joker, if Julius, Nightmare, and Gray are invited to that ball thing does that mean you are too?" I asked resting in Black's lap.
"Of course, stupid! It's a role holders event, everyone's got to attend." replied Black.
"Can I go?" I asked looking up at Black. The two Jokers chuckled and White replied, "Of course."
I squealed and cheered as I hugged Black's waist. I get to go to a ball! How exciting! "So when is it?" I asked looking at White.
"In the next three evening time periods." replied White.
I nodded and 'ooo'ed before resting my head on Black's chest blinking the sleep away. "So that means I'll have to find a dress don't I? Just..." I felt my eyes flutter close. "Like...a princess..."
Black's POV
I looked down at Raven who was sleeping peacefully on my chest. "She must've had a long day" said White brushing the few strands of hair from her face.
"Yeah." I mumbled looking into the fire.
None of us said anything as we watched Raven sleep.
"Ah! Joker!" squealed Raven as White dumped water on her head.
"Why can't we just use the one we bought the other day?" I asked washing Raven's hair with soap then White dumped water on her head again.
"That's a good point. What do you think, Raven?" asked White looking down at the girl playing in the water as he washed the soap out.
Raven only hummed happily as a response.
"It saved us a trip to town." I sighed as I leaned back against the pool sized bathtub.
After the bath this morning and making sure Raven had her breakfast White left Raven in my care and we patrolled the Prison before settling back in our room. No prisoners were out which was good, Raven wouldn't get frightened like last time. I sat in the chair at the desk as Raven played with her doll we bought at the toy shop the other day. I could hardly believe that this child was Alice's daughter, she was nothing like her. The only thing I could think of that the had in common was that they shared similar looks. Raven had that innocence her mother didn't. The mere giggles that came from Raven seemed to make my clock speed up and I still couldn't figure out why. When her mother giggled my clock never ticked faster like it did for her daughter. I heaved a sigh of annoyance as watched her play.
Raven's POV
The time flew by and the ball drew closer and I couldn't stand still!
Black and White stood before me in matching white tuxedos with red ascots, gloves, their hair was neat but still slightly messy, their eye patches remained the same, and they wore black dress shoes.
"Joker! You both look wonderful!" I squealed as I stood there in my nightshirt. I had yet to change into the dress because I needed help to put it on.
"Whatever." mumbled Black.
"Why thank you, Raven." said White as he picked up the dress that rested on their bed. "Now lets get you changed."
I nodded as Black moved forward and removed my nightshirt and White pulled the black dress over my small form. I lifted up my hair and Black placed the choker on my neck and hooked it in to place before letting my hair fall back down. White zipped up the dress and straightened it out and Black helped me into the black heels I was to wear with it. I went into the bathroom and walked straight to the mirror, I giggled as I looked at my reflection, "I look like a princess!"
White walked in followed by Black and they glanced at themselves in the mirror. "We all look lovely." said White smiling at our reflection.
"Then should we leave, Joker?" I asked never taking my eyes of the mirror.
They nodded and we turned away from the mirror and went back into the bedroom. Just as we were about to leave White stopped us from leaving, "Oh, wait a second!" White said walking over to the desk, picking something up before walking back. He kneeled down and pinned something to the left side of my waist. I looked down to see three bright red roses pinned on and resting in the middle of those roses was a small white mask, just like the Jokers wore.
"Just like yours, Joker!" I gasped in awe before hugging White. "I love it!"
He smiled and stood up as I let go of him. "Of course! It's for tonight just in case anything happens."
"Can I keep it after tonight?" I asked running back to look at myself in the mirror, admiring how it looked before running back over to the Jokers.
"Of course!" replied White, "Now let's get going, we don't want to be late!"
I nodded and grabbed a hold of Black and White's hands as we left the prison. It's walls swirl from gray to midnight blue, green, red, pink, and yellow before settling into the forest with the arrows. The sky was dark with only the bright light of the moon to guide us. It was quiet mostly between the three of us and the only sounds were the creatures that roamed the night and the sound of the wind blowing. I closed my eyes listening to the wonderful sounds as we walked down the path.
The moonlit walk to the ball was rather enjoyable as a large castle came into view. I gasped looking at it.
"It's so huge!" The castle was lit up in lights to stand out in the darkness. I practically skipped the rest of the way until I was standing in front of the large doors. The castle was even more gigantic up close.
"Wooow!"
"Welcome to Heart Castle." said a faceless person who was standing outside next to the door.
He opened it and allowed us inside. Joker and I were escorted by another faceless that led us down a hall and stopped in front of another pair of giant double doors. Joker nodded and waved him off before some near by servants opened the door and we entered the large ballroom. The ballroom was crowded with people both role holder and faceless, it had tables and chairs along all sides of the rounded room, a long table on one side held refreshments, faceless musicians were playing on instruments and people were already dancing and talking amongst themselves.
"It's so..." I paused thinking of the right word. "lively! Is this how it usually is, Joker?"
They nodded and both placed a hand on my shoulders slightly pushing me in the direction to a table they wanted to sit at. Black pulled out a chair for me to sit in, I sat down and began to look around from my spot as Black plopped down on my right and White calmly sat down to my left. I looked around and spotted a pink haired cat man walking towards us. I shot up and ran to the man jumping in his arms. "Boris!" I yelled hugging his neck.
"Hey there, kiddo!" he greeted back, holding me in his arms as he approached the Jokers. I heard a chair skid against the floor and I looked back to see Black standing and glaring at Boris. Boris just smiled and set me back down on the ground. That was when I got a look at Boris.
"You look so handsome, Boris!"
Boris was wearing a white button up shirt with a buttoned tuxedo jacket over it, black slacks and black dress shoes. Around his neck was a purple cross over tie, his usual pink and purple stripped fluffy boa was missing and on his hands were white gloves.
Boris smiled and scratched his cheek sheepishly as it gained a pink tint. "Thanks, you're looking pretty beautiful yourself!"
I smiled and thanked him for the compliment. "Thank you! Where is Pierce and Gowland?"
"They're around here somewhere."
Boris looked around the ballroom trying to spot the Amusement Park owner and the dorm mouse but was met with Ace, Julius, Nightmare, and Gray. I waved to them and ran over to them. I attacked Gray first with a hug. "Gray!" I yelled, "How is Mister Kitty?"
Gray smiled and replied, "He's doing alright. And may I say you look adorable."
"Thank you! You look good too!" I complimented. "And so do you, guys."
I smiled at them and they said their thank yous before I skipped over to White and standing in between him and Black. Black, who had been standing and glaring, sat back down when I sat back down. Not long after there were blares of trumpets coming from the doors we entered through. Everyone looked towards the doors as a white haired rabbit man cleared his throat.
"Silence, everyone." He ordered. Everyone quieted and he stepped aside to reveal a beautiful woman with beautiful purple hair that were in perfect curls and she wore a beautiful red dress with a very high collar that seemed to form a heart behind her head. Her dress had ruffles that were a dark purple that faded to blue and she had hearts that accented throughout her dress that symbolized that she was the Queen of hearts. On her head was a gold and red crown and in her hands rested a small cane.
"Heed her majesty's speech as she opens our ball." spoke the Rabbit man as the Queen stepped forward.
"We see that many guests have gathered at our castle this day." began the Queen, who's voice echoed throughout the room. "And we also see..." She looked around the room, "...A number of guests we did not invite."
I looked around for anyone that looked like they shouldn't be here, but none of them looked like they shouldn't be here. "Bu this is a night for celebration." continued the Queen. "For today we welcome the new foreigner to Wonderland and our castle!" The crowd cheered as she ended her speech and I tugged on White's sleeve.
"Yes?" asked White.
"This is a ball for me?" I asked pointing to myself.
White nodded, "Yes, like her Majesty said it is to welcome you to wonderland."
"Really?"
"Yes and that makes you the guest of honor."
"What's that?"
"It means the night is all about you!" hissed Black.
I looked at him questioningly, I'm the guest of honor? I've never been the guest of honor before. How exciting!
"Really?!" I hopped onto Black's lap looking him in the eye to make sure he wasn't lying. I smiled brightly seeing that he wasn't lying. "I've never been the guest of honor before! What do I do?"
"Your mother has never done anything special like this for you?" questioned Gray who I forgot was still there with the other residents of the clock tower, Boris, and Ace.
I shook my head, "Nope!"
"Really?!" shouted the residents of the Clock Tower and Ace.
"Yep!" I replied popping the 'p'. "Joker, does that mean I get to meet the Queen?"
"Yes. She should be looking for you any minute now." replied White. I nodded and climbed off Black's lap sitting neatly in my seat once again smiling brightly as I kicked my legs underneath the table. White patted my head and Black smirked putting on the meanie attitude. Completely ignoring Julius, Gray, Nightmare, Boris, and Ace.
"Well who is this adorable little girl!"
I looked up and was met with the beautiful woman from earlier. I felt my face heat up underneath her stare. I immediately got up and curtsied. "I-It's nice to meet you, your Majesty! I'm Raven Liddell."
"Ah Liddell? You are related to Alice?" asked the Queen, giving me a small smile.
I straightened up and nervously played with my hands. "Y-Yes, your Majesty. I-I am her da-daughter!" I replied nervously.
"Her daughter?" asked the Queen. I nodded sheepishly as the Queen looked me over and gave me a smile. "Tell us, Raven, is Alice with you?"
I shook my head, "No, I'm sorry. I'm here without her."
The Queen shook her head, "It is quite alright!" then she looked at the men that were standing and sitting around us. "Come, child. Let's speak where these insufferable boring men can't bother us."
"Hey!" shouted Boris and Black.
I smiled and nodded as the Queen grabbed one of my hands and led me away from the group and towards a more secluded table. She sat down in a chair and gestured for me to sit by her. I did so and shifted nervously in my seat beside her.
"So tell us, Raven, how is your mother?" she asked as a servant served her some sort of drink.
"I do not know, ma'am. I've been here for a while." I replied.
"Please call us, Vivaldi." said the Queen
I nodded, "Okay, Vivaldi." then I continued on with what I was saying. "But I'd have to assume that mommy is fine."
"Does she know you're gone?" she asked taking another sip of whatever she was drinking.
I shook my head. "No. She in fact told me to stay away from giant rabbit holes that could appear in the ground. But I went against her orders and curiosity got the best of me." I lowered my head in shame imagining what she would do once I returned home.
"Why would she tell you that?" asked Vivaldi, shock clearly evident on her face.
"She said that bad things would happen and she would be very, very angry if she found out I disobeyed her. She wants me to believe in things that are reality and not fantasy."
"Why on earth wou-"
"Alice?!" screamed someone.
I barely had time to turn around before I was lifted out of the chair and into someone's arms. The person squeezed me as if I was going to disappear and swung me around.
"Oh, Alice! You've returned to me!" squealed the same voice.
I was truly scared and I could barely breath. This person had the wrong person! I manage to poke my head out and gain some air before yelling, "Joker! Help me!"
In a matter of seconds I was ripped from the person's grasp and into someone else's arms. I looked up and I was safely in Black's grasp and White was standing in between him and the person who grabbed me.
"Hands off, Rabbit." growled Black.
I tried the best I could to look over White's shoulder so I could see the person but all I could see was white fluffy bunny ears. I could feel my cheeks heat up as I had an urge to touch the person's fluffy ears, much like I had with Boris.
"I'm sorry, Prime Minister." apologized White. "I'm afraid this isn't Alice."
"What are you talking about?" hissed the Prime Minister.
"She's not Alice, you stupid rabbit!" yelled Black. Black pushed White out of the way.
I stared up at the rabbit-eared man in wonder. His hair was as White as snow, ruby red eyes, he wore a white tuxedo with a red tie and black dress shoes. I felt the urge to touch his ears once again but held it back. He stared at me for a while before getting closer and examining my face.
"Eh? Then who is she" asked the Prime Minister.
"She's Alice's child" replied Vivaldi.
I bowed my head at the man. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Prime Minister, sir. I'm Raven Liddell."
He looked surprised and stood up straight once more. I whispered to Black to put me down and he did, then I curtsied to the Prime Minister. That was when the door o the ballroom opened . I looked to the door to see Elliot slip through the door and shout to someone that was in the hall. Followed by him was Blood and then the twins, Dee and Dum. "Excuse me." I said bowing once again before walking through the crowd.
I stopped in front of the Hatter Mafia and curtsied to the men in front of me. "Good evening, Gentlemen!" I greeted. "It's a pleasure to see you again."
The Twins, Elliot, and Blood looked down at me surprised to see me. Blood being quick to show his gentlemen side bowed politely and grabbed my hand, raising it to his lips giving it a gentle kiss.
"Good evening, Raven." greeted Blood. "You look lovely, young lady."
"As do you! And of course you three as well. You all look dashing!"
The bloody twins smiled and hugged me tightly saying I was the cutest thing before they caught sight of Boris and went over to talk to him. I turned to face the other two, only to find Blood standing there smiling. I looked around to see Elliot walking briskly over to the table that had food piled on it. I have the strangest feeling that it has something to do with carrots...
