Viktor has no accent because I would completely butcher it. Sorry!
Harriet Potter sat by the lake, brooding as she watched the waves. She didn't enter her name in the goblet, but only Hermione believed her. Everyone was against her; it was her second year all over again! When did she ever seek glory? Harri never asked for what she had, she'd trade it all if she could.
"Did you truly not enter yourself?" A deep voice asked, breaking through Harri's thoughts. Harri jumped before turning; Viktor Krum had sat next to her and was looking at her curiously.
"No, I didn't; I don't need the money or the "eternal glory". I'd rather be cheering on you, Fleur, and Cedric. Watching deadly events sounds way better than dying from them." Harri replied. Viktor nodded.
"Would you believe me if I told you I didn't enter myself either?" questioned Viktor. Harri blinked in surprise, then stared at Viktor, waiting for more information. "The piece of paper I put in the goblet had my best friend's name on it. He is smarter than me, and a much better dueler. I wanted him to have a better chance to prove himself. I too have no need to glory." Viktor explained. Harri looked into his eyes for a moment.
"I believe you. How did your name get in?" Harri asked, already having suspicions.
"Karkaroff." Viktor said, matching Harri's thoughts, "I think that's why he's certain you cheated; he cheated to get my spot. Do you have any ideas of who might have entered you?"
"No." Harri answered. They sat for a few moments in comfortable silence, before it was broken by the chatter of many girls. The two champions turned to see a big group a girls pointing at them angrily. Viktor groaned and Harri realized they must be his fan girls. Viktor stood up.
"I'm going back to the ship; I have no wish to be harassed by those harpies." Viktor said. Harri nodded, understanding.
"Good luck Viktor." Harri answered. Viktor hesitated a moment, looking the Forbidden Forest then back to Harri.
"Harri. Karkaroff said something to me about searching the forests tonight for clues. It might be best for you to do the same. I want to beat you fair and square, not because I knew of the task ahead of time." Viktor explained, smirking at the end. Harri laughed.
"Alright. Just don't be upset when I score more points than you!" She warned, causing Viktor to chuckle as he walked away. Harri turned back to the waves of the water, no longer brooding and feeling better about her entrance into the tournament. When someone else shares your experience, even a little, it eases the burden.
