Episode 7.06 Burn Out: After Grissom lays down on the couch at the end of the episode
Grissom laid down on the couch and closed his eyes. He tried to drain out the noise around him. He was tired. Tired of fighting for the victims only for their killer to get off. Tired of death and sadness. As he laid there he closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.
Sara opened the door of Grissom's office and sighed with relief as she saw him lying there. She had been worried about him, she saw that this last case had taken a toll on him. Closing the door behind her, she walked over to the couch and gently placed a kiss on his forehead. Grissoms eyes opened slowly and once he realized Sara was standing there he smiled and sat up slowly.
"Hey" Sara said smiling down at him, "You feeling OK?"
Sitting up properly Grissom answered.
"Hey, yes sorry I just had a migraine and I needed to lie down"
Sara frowned "You've been getting those a lot lately, are you sure you're OK?"
She gently brushed her hands through his hair as she spoke. For the first time in a long Sara really looked at Grissom's face, she noticed dark circles under his eyes, worry lines shaping his face. She traced the lines with her hand.
"Maybe you need a break, maybe you need to take some time off" she said to him.
Grissom reach up and touched Sara's hand.
"Maybe I do, but the lab is to short staffed for that at the moment"
Sara lent in the rested her forehead on Grissom's "Just think about it OK? You can't work yourself to death"
Grissom nodded.
"Thank you" he said to her quietly.
"For what?" Sara asked slightly confused.
"For loving me" he said.
Sara placed a light kiss on his lips, and stood to leave. She knew it was only a matter of time before someone walked in.
"I'll see you later" Sara said smiling as she left the room.
