Episode 7.11 Leaving Las Vegas: After Grissom leaves the locker room
Grissom "I'll miss you"
Sara crossed her arms in front of herself, Grissom had just left, it had been moments, but she already felt empty. Grissom and her had talked about it in length. It wasn't an easy decisions to let him go, but she had seen it in his face weeks ago, Grissom was tired and he needed a break, and who was she to deny him that. Four weeks would be over before they knew, it but Sara still felt an ache in her heart the second he turned and walked away.
Grissom exited the locker room, he took a few steps and thought about going back, just to see Sara's face one more time. He reminded himself that it would only be four weeks that it would be over in no time. He and Sara had talked about his sabbatical. They both knew he needed a break, he was no good to anyone in this state. But still as he walked towards the waiting taxi, he couldn't help feel guilty at leaving. As he got in the taxi he picked up his phone and sent Sara a simple message. I Love You.
Episode 7.13 Redrum: Sarah gets the package from Grissom.
Sara opened the package, there was no note on top. She was curious, she dug through the paper carefully to find a small branch with a cocoon. She looked at it curiously, inspecting it from all angles. Typical of Grissom to send an insect of some kind she thought. Sara searched around for a note, smiling to herself when she didn't find one, also typical of Grissom.
Sara searched her memory for what conditions were best for a cocoon, she knew Grissom would have told her at some point. As she remembered, she carried the cocoon into Grissoms office and placed in gently into one of his empty tanks. She smiled as she stared at it, but she also felt overwhelming sadness, she never thought she would miss as much as she did. She felt an emptiness inside her that she hadn't felt in a long time. And even though she knew Grissom would be back, she couldn't help these feelings. She had become used to waking up with his warm body beside her. Coming home to someone who was just as happy to see her as she was him. Sharing things that she hadn't really shared with anyone else before. She missed him, more then she cared to admit.
