Episode 7.18 Empty Eyes: Pre Crime Scene (My date got canceled)

Sara couldn't believe it, somehow she and Grissom had managed to get the night off, at the same time. She couldn't remember the last time that had happened, but she was grateful. They had planned to go out to the body farm and study insect activity. Not something that most would class as romantic, but to Sara and Grissom, spending time together like that was just a good as going to a nice dinner. Sara loved the way Grissoms eyes would light up at the new insect activity he was seeing. She could stare at him for hours when he was like that.

Grissom was in the lounge room packing his bag with a few of his best reference guides, even someone with as much experience as him couldn't remember everything. Once he was done he walked into their bedroom to see if Sara was ready to go.

"Hey honey" he said to her from the doorway, "You ready to go"

Sara was pulling her hair up into a ponytail and turned to reply.

"Yes Dear" She quipped, smirking as she spoke.

Grissom smiled back at her. Just as she was about to reply his phone went off. Grissom pulled it out to see who was calling.

"It's the lab" Grissom said confused, everyone knew it was his night off. Sara frowned as Grissom answered the phone, it could only mean one thing.

"Hey Catherine" he answered "Uh huh…ok…yeah…text me the address" he said into the phone.

"Yeah I'll call Sara on my way over and let her know"

Grissom snapped the phone shut, looking at Sara he shrugged.

"There's a multiple homicide, apparently there's 6 girls living together all murdered.

Sara's face must have expressed some disbelief, because Grissom continued.

"I know its awful, but it's all hands on deck tonight"

Sara nodded, she pulled her hair out of her ponytail. Grissom walked over to her and cupped her face in his hands

"I'm sorry Honey" He gently kissed her.

"Don't be sorry Gil, it's not your fault, and it's just the perks of this job"

Grissom nodded.

"I'll text you when I get to the crime scene, maybe wait another twenty minutes before you head over"

"Ok" She said as she turned to find the things she needed.

"Sara" Grissom said to her as he exited the room, "I Love you"

She turned back towards him, smiling again

"I love you too" she said "I'll see you in a little while".
