Episode 8.02 A La Cart:
After Sara's Conversation with Ecklie
"I think it was a Sunday" Sara's response resonated in her head. She thought back to that day, the day she classed as their beginning. It had been a hard case and Grissom had come to check on her. He finally told her how he felt, and that was that. Sara thought about all the moments she has spent with Grissom since. She smiled as she walked, he made her happy.
After the car
As Grissom and Sara walked toward the go-cart track, Grissom thought about that first day he had met Sara. She was beautiful and he was instantly taken by her. She had a ponytail. He never figured out why that small detail had stayed with him all these years. But he could never forgot the way her smile instantly melted his heart. He believed what he had said to Ecklie. It had been nine years. Most of those nine years he had been foolish and pushed her away, at one point he nearly missed his chance, but Sara had been patient and now he spent every day trying to make up for it. When she had been out in the desert Grissom knew if he could just see her one more time, he would tell her how happy she makes him, how much he loved her, he never thought that he would ever feel the way he did about Sara.
As they reached the Go Cart track Grissom realized what he wanted, he was going to marry Sara, he wanted her to be his wife, and he wanted to be with her forever.
Sara watched as her friends raced around the track. She knew from this moment everything would change, all her friends would work together on graveyard and Sara would be on swing. She would miss them, but Grissom and her, meant too much to her and she knew she wanted that more.
Sara breathed in deeply, she felt a heavy weight on her heart. She hadn't told Grissom, or anyone for that matter, but since she'd been out in the dessert she hasn't been able to shake the darkness inside her. The nightmares wouldn't go away, and even while she was awake memories came like a slide show in her mind. She knew she had to fight them if she didn't she would fall apart and she had come too far to let that happen again.
