Episode 9.10 One To Go - (Part 2)

As he stepped into the clearing, he felt his heart stop. There she was, just like he had imagined. As she turned to face him, and Grissom saw just how beautiful she looked, how happy she looked, he knew he had done the right thing. Dropping his bag he made his way toward her, there was no need for words, he took her into his arms and kissed her deeply.

After a while they broke apart, Grissom saw a tear fall from Sara's eye. He wiped it away as she smiled back at him.

"You came" She said to him.

Smiling Grissom replied

"I couldn't stay away, I tried to let you go, but I can't Sara. You were my whole word, the second you were gone I was empty. I realised that you wouldn't be coming back to Vegas and I had a choice, spend the rest of my life missing you or come after you. I chose the latter"

Sara sobbed, she couldn't control just how happy she was he was here.

"Gil" was all she got out before she was overwhelmed with emotion. She wrapped her arms around him and rested her head on his chest, just like she had done a hundred times before.

Later that night, Grissom and Sara sat by the fire eating. There hadn't been much talking since Grissom had arrived.

Sara watched Grissom as he ate, still not believing he was here, but she had been dying to ask him something. Something she realised she wanted the second she turned to see him.

"So Gil, I've been thinking, I don't really know how to say this" she said quietly.

Grissom reached over and grabbed her hand giving it a small squeeze.

"Just say whatever you want Sara, its ok" he gave her an encouraging smile.

"It's just, well, I was thinking back to that day with the bees" She said trying to find the courage to say what she wanted.

Grissom slid closer to her, and wrapped his arms around her so she was leaning into his side. He knew what she was trying to say

"Sara do you still want to?"

Sara looked up at him smiling.

"Very much so, if you still want to?" she said.

He lent down to kiss her, reach into his pocket as he did.

"I never got a chance to give you this, I know we talked about getting married, but somehow it never seemed like the right moment"

As he spoke he gently placed a ring on Sara's finger.

Sara felt a tear fall from her eyes

"I love you Gil, so much" she said

"I love you to Sara, nothing will keep me from you any more" he replied as he lent into kiss her again.
