THE WEDDING

Grissom stood at the end of the isle watching Sara walk down. She was beautiful, wearing a simple white flowing dress and carrying a bouquet of native flowers. Grissom smiled as he watched her walk towards him. This is what he had imagined their wedding would be like, simple, no fuss made. He had thought that they should invite the rest of their friends at the crime lab. The people who had supported them both through the hardest of times. But that thought didn't last long. It's not that he didn't love them but it was not his and Sara's way to make a big fuss out of their relationship. So as he stood there watching her, he was overcome with happiness.

Sara walked towards Grissom, she felt ridiculous, she wasn't sure why she had to walk toward him, there was no one here to see it. But as she walked, she made eye contact with him, he was grinning from ear to ear. Sara tried not to let a tear escape her eyes as she thought about how perfect this moment was. It was typically them, simple, no one around, no fuss made. Just the two of them. As she reached where Grissom was waiting for her, she realized her hands were shaking, she couldn't explain why she was so nervous. Grissom reached out his hand and she took it, he gave her hand a small encouraging squeeze as the turned toward the celebrant.

The ceremony was a quick one, there was no one there so the need to extra readings and explanations wasn't necessary. When it came time for the vows both Sara and Grissom became quite nervous, both scared that the other would find their vows silly.

It was Sara's turn facing, facing Grissom she started.

"Gil, you have been my best friend, mentor, confidant and my greatest challenge. But most importantly, you are the love of my life and you make me happier than I could ever imagine and more loved than I ever thought possible. You know me better than anyone else in this world and somehow still you manage to love me. We've had our ups and downs, but at the end of it you are still standing here beside me and I can't wait for us to walk down this road together hand in hand. I love you with all my heart and soul."

Grissom stood there as Sara read her vows to him, swallowing trying not to cry.
Sara gently slipped the ring onto Grissoms finger smiling up at him as she did so. The ring was a simple silver ring, Sara had, had it engraved with two tiny bees on the outside and the date on the inside.

Grissom smiled back at Sara, taking a deep breath in. Now it was his turn, his stomach was in knots, he was not one for feelings and emotions on most days, and is scared him to be so open now. He began to read his vows to Sara.

"Sara I've always had goals, aspirations, things I wanted to do. But when I met you, I learned what it was to dream. I've learned to dream of the things I deserve. So I am truly blessed to be a part of your life, which as of today becomes our life together. You are my best friend and one true love. There is still a part of me today that cannot believe that I'm the one who gets to marry you. I hope you always know how happy you have made me. "

Sara felt a tear fall down her cheek as she smiled at Grissom, he was always good with making word sound so beautiful. Sara watched as Grissom placed the ring on her finger, it was yellow and black with a small gold bee slightly to the left. Sara looked back up at Grissom who smiling just as big as she was.
The celebrant finished the rest of the ceremony and when he declared Sara and Grissom husband and wife, Grissom took Sara into his arms and kissed her deeply and lovingly. Sara responded the same. When they finally broke apart, they stood facing each other, smiling, Grissom reached to Sara face and gently wiped her tears away.

"Shall we" he said taking her hand in his.

Together they walked back down the aisle into their hut.
