So this is my take on Sara and Grissoms conversations before Sara came back to Vegas

10.01 Family Affair

Sara heard the phone ringing, waiting a moment she listened to see if Grissom would pick it up. When he didn't she walked toward the kitchen to answer it.

"Allo" Sara answered. She hated the way her French sounded.

"Sara?"

She heard an American voice on the other line.

"Yes" She answered grateful she could speak English.

"Sara its Conrad."

Sara was shocked, of all people to hear from, she was not expecting that.

"Oh hey Conrad, how are you?" Sara said being polite. She never really like Ecklie.

"Good thanks,"Ecklie replied. "Sara we've had a few problems here at the lab and we're short a person, and I was wondering if there is anyone you can recommend. I'm running out of options, and I can't afford to have a rookie at the moment, we're too busy to train them."

"Oh" Sara replied, caught off guard by his question.

"Well maybe I can come back and help for a bit, I mean I need to talk to Gil, but we're waiting for a research grant so I'm not really doing that much right now."

"Oh great, well if you could let me know as soon as possible Sara, if you could help that would be great, even just until we can get someone else," Ecklie replied.

"Ok" Sara answered him back, "I will call you back soon."

Sara hung up the phone and went looking for Grissom, she found him the study sifting through papers.

"Hey Gil" Sara said walking towards him "Have you got a minute?"

Grissom looked up from his work, and smiled. He was always happy to see Sara.

"Of course dear, what's wrong?" he asked.

Sara walked over to him and sat on his lap.

"Nothing's wrong exactly but that was Ecklie on the phone." She said to him.

Grissom responded by raising an eyebrow, but didn't speak.

"He said they were short in the lab and asked if I could recommend anyone, but I was thinking maybe I could go and help out." She said bracing herself for his reaction.

"You want to go back Las Vegas?" Grissom asked slightly concerned.

"Well, I'm not really doing anything here Gil, you have your teaching and I kind of just do nothing" Sara replied.

"Mmm" Grissom said, as he spoke to her he reached up touched her face.

"If you want to go you should, but I'm worried about you being back there, and I won't be there with you this time."

Sara smiled.

"Gil, I know, but I'm in a much better place now, besides it won't be permeant, just until Ecklie can find someone or our research grant comes through, whichever comes first."

Grissom kissed her cheek softly.

"Will it make you happy to go?"

Sara nodded at him in reply.

"Then go" Grissom said "But I'm going to miss you."

Sara smiled and kissed him gently all the time.

"Of course I will miss you too, but I will come back as much as I can. It wont be for long I promise, thank you for not getting angry about this."

Grissom chuckled.

"Even if I wanted to, I couldn't stop you, you're too wild for me to tame Sara but I love you and I want you to be happy."

Sara kissed him again.

"Thanks, I love you too."

She jumped up to call Ecklie back.
