They disappear from the public eye as quickly as they can, coming out only for testimonies and funerals. The last anyone sees of Tobias, he's flying away with Rachel's ashes; her family never forgives him, though as they grow older, her sisters understand. Cassie finally begins charities and programs for survivors and the environment, while Marco hides his pain with partying and becoming an entertainment mogul. Ax goes home. And Jake - Jake struggles the most. He tries out a dozen things and none of them fit, and sometimes, he calls Marco or Cassie panicking and in tears, sure it's just another trick by the entities that never stopped fiddling with them like chess pieces on a board that spans the cosmos.
But time passes. They live. They don't wake up.
