Okay, so just for that sweet guest who has been checking for an update daily, here's an update!

I'm sorry, I haven't been much motivated lately; don't know what's happening to me. Consequently, I apologize in advance for the quality of this chapter.

And thank you so much for your reviews last chapter. Glad you were thrilled because of the KC kiss.

Here you go:

Bonnie was sitting on her couch and was reading a J.K Rowling novel. She had returned from her meeting with her father about an hour ago and hadn't even found the strength to fix herself something. She was so tired… totally exhausted, too much to think straight, she didn't even know what she was doing with a novel in her hands. That early gathering at the Grill had been nerve wracking, that's the least one could have said.

No but in all seriousness, what the hell was Klaus thinking anyway when he came up with this ridiculous idea?! They didn't like each other! He needed to yield to the facts! How could they?! He and his siblings had brought nothing but trouble into Mystic Falls and into their lives! Rebekah had went after Stefan knowing he and Elena were an item, she had killed the latter; let's not mention what he had done to make their lives a living hell, all on his own.

Now, if he and Caroline ever got involved, then of course they would have to learn to do with one another's presence. But that would manifestly take time and forced meetings like the one this afternoon would not help things.

However, Bonnie knew Klaus was just trying to please Caroline and she appreciated the intention but for God sakes, next time, let him not involve her.

The tension and animosity at their table was so thick she thought for a moment it would blow up the place. And of course, as if there wasn't even tension going on, that is the moment Damon and Tyler chose to make their return in town known! And last but not least, Jeremy and Kol unfortunately didn't find it in themselves to keep their temper and had to throw birds names and witty comments at each other under her and Elijah's annoyed gazes.

Ohhh, Bonnie didn't who was the most to pity at the table: Caroline? With her two hybrids glaring at one another? Elena? With the two Salvatore brothers who did not seem that happy to see each other again? Or herself? With her two suitors who she was sure would have physically fought had they been alone without anyone to intervene.

She raised her head out of her novel and lightly shook her head closing her eyes.

Ohhh Lord, it was funny the directions life could take… completely throwing people off. Barely three months ago, her life was so boring and lacking excitement that she implored God to provide her with some sort of entertainment. Well, clearly he had heard her… since he had positively responded to her pleas. She went from zero to two men rushing at her altar! And not the lesser: two men any girl would dream to have courting them!

Bonnie sighed and stood up with the intention to go take a relaxing hot bath when her doorbell stopped her.

She put her novel down on the table in front of her and went to answer.

"Jeremy!" she exclaimed, surprised. "Didn't we leave each other like… four hours ago?" she asked her brows creased, half-laughing.

"We did. I just needed to talk to you." Jeremy answered.

The witch nodded and then stepped aside.

He came in.

"You've been in this house enough times for us to skip the civilities." She stated. "Make yourself at home."

He smiled and went towards the living room with Bonnie following him. Half-way, he turned around. "I'm really sorry about my behavior earlier." He told her.

She raised her head to look at him.

"I know I acted… well, anyway, I'm sorry. I know I made you uncomfortable and I really didn't mean to." He apologized.

Bonnie listened at him intently then chuckled. She tilted her head to the side and gave him a sweet smile. "Apology accepted."

Jeremy smiled back at her.

"It's just Kol has this way of getting to me, of putting me on edge…" he paused. "But it's no reason and I wish you hadn't seen me like this."

She moved closer to him and placed her hands on his sides sending an involuntary shiver up his spine. "It's okay, Jer." She assured him. "Kol IS known to push other people's buttons." She reminded him in an attempt to make him feel better.

He smiled genuinely at her.

She moved away from him heading for the couch but Jeremy grabbed her forearm and brought her back to him. He placed her hand on his right shoulder and released her forearm. He anchored his brown gaze into her hazel one. Bonnie swallowed the lump that formed in her throat owing to their proximity. She held his gaze completely unwilling, her heart in her mouth as she didn't know what the man's next move would be or how she would react to it.

"Let it be no confusions: I am not sorry for letting him know that he's walking on my territory." He cleared up emphasizing on the negation 'not'.

Bonnie raised an eyebrow at him. "Are you saying that I'm yours?"

Jeremy lowered his head towards her. "I'm saying I want you to be."

The witch's heart skipped a beat as she saw by the look in his eyes how much he meant those words. She suddenly dropped his gaze. "Jeremy…"

"I know, I know…" he started before she could tell him and she glanced at him. He sighed. "You need to think…" he finished.

She gathered her inner strength and looked up at him, a saddened expression on her face. Jeremy cupped her face and ran his thumb along her right cheekbone to soften her features and appease the tension emanating from her being. "Let me help you." He whispered and closed the small distance between them pressing his lips against hers.

Not being able to help herself, having no control over her heart and body, she responded to the kiss and her hands found their way around his back. She brought her hand to his forearm holding his hand in place on her face as he kissed her softly and with immoderate tenderness.

Klaus and Caroline were comfortably laid on his king-size bed. She was wrapped in his gentle arms with her head resting on his chest. They had been cuddling like that in silence for a good forty-five minutes finally giving their swollen lips a well-deserved rest. They both felt good, very good actually. It had been a long time since Caroline had let herself be or feel so close to someone –romantically at least –and she had missed it. She was warm and she felt safe in Klaus' embrace: she knew there wasn't anything in the world he wouldn't do for her; there were no doubts in her mind regarding that matter anymore.

Their legs were so close they would touch if either made so much as a movement. Her fair breathing was the only indication that the blonde wasn't asleep. Klaus was gently stroking her hair with one hand –soaking up her delicious scent –while the other ran smoothly down and up her left arm. Caroline had her eyes closed appreciating the feels. Who would have known the Big Bad Evil, the so feared Original Hybrid, could be tender? Not even Caroline not so long ago.

"Do you have any idea how many times I've dreamt of holding you like this?" he asked her. He hadn't wanted to break the soothing silence that had fallen on them, but he needed her to know.

At his touching words and the slight melancholy she perceived in his voice, the corners of Caroline's mouth slightly pulled upwards and she pulled away from his hard chest so she would see Klaus more clearly. She slightly straightened herself and met his piercing blue eyes as he looked down at her. They gazed at each other for a few seconds until she completely sat on the covers next to him and brought her face up to level with his staring at his appealing lips.

She didn't kiss him however: she tangled her left hand in his light-brown hair and grazed her nose against his playfully. She tilted her head to the left then to the right keeping teasing him.

"Caroline…" Klaus whispered, but she caught the warning his low voice held.

She giggled a little at her obvious effect on him. "Yes?" she answered.

Her nose started grazing his left cheek as she inhaled his scent. He took in a shaky breath, the closeness, yet not enough, between them and her intoxicating scent mingling with his particularly disturbing.

She brought her nose nearer to his again leaving only a few inches between their lips. And not being able to hold it any longer, Klaus hungrily captured her lips making them lightly lean backwards. She held on to the side of his neck as he slid his tongue inside her mouth and met her tongue with avidity. They battled sensually for control and she circled his neck with her arms letting the kiss intensify.

His left hand found its way underneath her blue shirt and he gently caressed the soft skin of her hip eliciting a soft moan from her, before using his grip at her waist to pull her closer to him in order to create more contact between their bodies; Caroline was almost sitting on his lap.

The blonde let her hand rummage his hair while they ravaged each other's mouth. The heat between them was seriously escalating, which is why after several more seconds of hot kissing, her body aflame, feeling her control slip, she slowly pulled away, breathless, and let her right hand slide down to his chest. 'Okay…' she said to herself. 'Let's not get excited.'

The hybrid waited until she recovered a steady breathing, and he recovered his own, to nibble her upper lip with his human teeth. She lightly shook her head pulling away, avoiding his kisses.

Klaus would have laughed at his obvious effect on Caroline if he hadn't been so aroused himself.

It all seemed so surreal: having Caroline so close to him, his hand on her lap, touching her soft skin and above all, her letting him… and showing him affection in return… Yet, he had never felt anything so real.

She cleared her throat. "We should probably join your siblings for dinner." She suggested.

He smiled softly at her. He nodded.

The blonde nodded back and then attempted to get up off bed but a hand around her waist stopped her. "But…" Klaus began and pulled her back to him. "… one more kiss."

She giggled but complied, gladly letting his mouth take hold of her lips.

Damon was seated in a living room a glass of bourbon in the hand that, contrary to what one would have thought, was only his fourth drink of the day, what knowing Damon really wasn't much. It was king of good to be back home he had to say. He had actually missed this town and its godforsaken inhabitants.

One thing he wasn't quite happy with though was Elena spending time with the entire Mikaelson clan! That, he would have to deal with! No but let's be serious, he left three years and came back to utter chaos?!

Despite his thoughts, Damon heard footsteps which he recognized to be Elena's. She descended the stairs and headed for the living room.

"Hey!" she said as she saw his outline.

"Hey." Damon said in return.

Elena went round the leather couch and sat down there with Damon on the armchair nearby. He stared at her intently.

'Okay, quick, say something.' She ordered herself. 'Before this reaches a whole other level of awkwardness.'

What was she even supposed to say to him? I mean, it had been three years. Three years without news, with no calls, no texts, no anything! And let's says things as they are: they hadn't parted on the best of terms.

"That was quite an entrance you made earlier." She said the first thing that came to her mind.

Damon smirked. "You know me: I like to do things with class."

She laughed and made her brows have a rise and fall movement in agreement. Damon got caught in her laugh. He had missed that laugh.

He chuckled quietly: what hadn't he missed about her?

Elena's eyes focused back on him at the soft sound of his chuckle and she caught him staring at her. "What?" she asked with the beginning of a smile.

He shook his head lightly. "Nothing." He responded.

She gave him a tightlipped smile and decided not to insist. She raised a quick eyebrow. 'Whatever.' She thought.

"So where have you been all this time?" Elena inquired.

He shrugged. "Pretty much everywhere." He vaguely answered. "I think the question should be 'where haven't I been?'. I spent a while in New York, particularly in Manhattan, then I went to France, Germany, England… I even visited South Africa." He started to tell.

"You did?" she asked surprised by his touristic narration.

"Yes. I saw lions… elephants!" he paused to gaze at her expression of wonder and that gorgeous smile of hers. "I also went to China, Japan."

"Whoa… You were in Japan?" she cut him off widening her brown eyes.

He smirked. "I was." He confirmed. "You know this story according to which Japanese women are the most beautiful women in the world?" he asked her and she nodded. "It's not a story." He told her shaking his head causing her to laugh.

"As a matter of fact, I can only think of one woman who could contradict this statement." He confessed.

Elena merely stared at him, her mind unreadable, refusing to give him any sign that would lead him to think that he was affecting her. She should know better by now.

"Well… two." He corrected himself.

/

"It's getting late. I should probably leave now." Jeremy said after the movie they had been watching came to an end. "Unless you want me to stay?" He asked turning to Bonnie.

"Jeremy…" she said in a warning tone and looked down at the rather small space between them.

He dropped his head. He heaved a sigh. "Fine, I'll go." He declared. "But before I do that…" he turned his head back to her. "Reassure me, you know how I feel about you, right?" he made sure.

Bonnie stared into Jeremy's brown eyes and held his gaze for a moment as he gazed lovingly at her before she spoke. "Yeah, I think I do." She answered.

He stared at her a moment more and then moved closer to her over the couch. He brought his face nearer to hers and gently covered Bonnie's lips with his own. He kissed her tenderly before sliding his tongue inside her mouth. She cupped his face as her tongue tangled with his languorously.

He pulled away leaving her half-breathless and her hand fell to the side of his neck. "Oh Jeremy, you're pushing it…" she told him in a low murmuring voice.

He light pulled back, just so he could look her dead in the eyes. "You know how I feel about you… right?" he asked again.

She gazed back into his eyes, and nodded getting his point. "I do know." She let out with a shaky voice.

He got caught in her light-brown gaze a little longer than he originally intended. "Good." Jeremy ended up saying. "Don't you dare forget it." he warned her and Bonnie would have burst out laughing if it hadn't been for the seriousness she read in his eyes.

He stood up and looked at her. "I can show myself out."

He stooped to press a kiss on her forehead. "Go get some sleep." He murmured to her and headed for the door.

He left and the witch let her head fall back on her couch, her mind as obscure as ever, her desires as indefinite.

/

Klaus and Caroline were in the passage upstairs saying goodnight, or trying to, in their own special way: Klaus was peppering sweet kisses on her lips, her cheekbones, her cheeks and her neck making her giggle and close her eyes to enjoy the sensations.

"Klaus!" she said forcing gravity into her voice but failing lamentably as she let out a giggle at the instant his lips touched the sensitive skin of her neck again. "Someone could catch us!" she pointed out. "I need to go to bed." She said laughing as low as she could so nobody heard them as he didn't stop his caresses.

"Wonderful, let's go." He replied leading them to his room.

"ALONE." Caroline specified going against him by placing a gentle but firm hand on his hard chest.

"Oh come on, love…" He protested bringing his hands on her tempting lips. "If this is your last night in this house, I want to spend it with you." He declared.

"Klaus…" she started in a semi-reprehensive semi-warning tone.

"With the most honourable intentions of course." He added getting his hands off her and raising them before her.

The blonde shook her head negatively.

"Unless of course… you're planning on staying a while longer…" he tried to coax it out of her.

In spite of what the casualness he managed to insinuate in his voice led to think, Klaus was anxious about the blonde's response. Things had been going so fantastically well between them; he felt like their relationship had taken two, three steps ahead during this weekend. He felt like they had gotten closer, not only physically but also emotionally.

With that kiss, they had started to discover one another, on another level… and he just couldn't stand the thought of Caroline leaving right now when they were doing so great and he was so enjoying himself, or anytime soon for that matter.

He was finally experiencing serenity and peace of mind…

Caroline was satisfied with staring at the hybrid for a moment before a smirk identical to the one he usually gave others formed on her lips. "Nice try." She conceded. "But you won't know until tomorrow. I'm still contemplating anyway."

Klaus nodded. "Well, I had to try."

She smiled.

"Can we go to bed, now?" he asked with the tone of somebody who loses their patience.

She laughed. "Of course we can." She responded, amused. "As long as we do it separately." She added.

"Come on now, love…" Klaus tried to persuade her. He approached her and surrounded her waist with his arms.

Klaus really wanted to spend the night with Caroline, in all the senses of the expression… But only one of those senses was possible so…; he tried not to think about the other much. At this stage of their relationship, getting to hold the gorgeous beauty in his arms was more than enough. He just wanted to feel the warmth of her skin against his as he kept her safe in.

"Your siblings could notice I'm not in my room, Klaus." Caroline told him seriously as he laid a soft kiss upon her right cheek.

"I don't mind." He said.

She slight extricated herself from his grip. "I do." She said, her voice firm.

He looked into her blue eyes and nodded, not letting his disappointment and hurt show through his features. "Kol is out, Rebekah is on the phone with Matt, I hardly think she'll be finished before two in the morning, and I don't see why Elijah would come and disturb you in your room." He attempted to convince her one last time.

She lifted her eyes to the ceiling thinking about it and summoned a pensive expression. She looked back at Klaus and smiled. She let out a soft laugh and moved past him to open his door. They entered his bedroom.

/

"To be honest, my arrival must have been as unexpected to you guys as my departure was to me." Damon said and Elena creased her brows in incomprehension so he elaborated. "I hadn't planned on coming home. I just woke up yesterday with the desire to see your faces again."

She smiled. "Well, whatever reason got you to come back, I couldn't be more delighted." She told him.

He scrutinized her face, looking for any sign of deception and when he didn't find any, his lips quirked in a tiny tightlipped smile.

"I missed you." She confessed dropping his gaze for an instant. "So did Stefan." Elena paused and he was his turn to drop her gaze. "He wishes he had heard from you more often."

"He told you that?" Damon inquired.

A few seconds passed before she answered him. "There are things that we don't need to tell each other." She responded.

Damon nodded. "I missed you too." He bounced back on what she had said previously.

"Elena or both of us?" Stefan questioned entering the room.

Elena turned to him as he came to sit next to her.

He kissed her cheek and Damon observed the couple interact.

Stefan turned to his brother.

"Both of you, of course." The latter answered causing his little brother to softly smile at him.

"How was the rest of your afternoon with Rebekah?" Stefan inquired.

Damon smirked. "Very interesting." He responded recalling their conversation at the Grill after everyone left. "I still can't begin to comprehend how a woman of her caliber would take an interest in a waiter like that prom king." He said rather to himself.

He directed his focus back on the couple and caught Elena giving him an angry look. He rolled his eyes.

"You guys had a lot of catching up to do." Stefan remarked.

"We did indeed." Damon asserted.

Stefan chuckled at his brother's unintentional rhyme. "So do we." He paused. "It's really good to have you back, Damon." He told his older brother.

Elena glanced at her boyfriend than turned back to look at Damon, wary of his response.

Damon looked at his little brother intently, his brows slightly creased, as though he was studying his face on the look-out for the smaller sign of deception.

He eventually hummed. "Thank you, bro, I would believe you. I appreciate the act of civility."

Stefan held his brother gaze for a moment then, looked away, obviously hurt. After so many years, how could his brother not know him?

He turned to Elena. "I'll go grab a blood back and then go back upstairs, okay?"

"Okay." She mouthed to him.

"Goodnight Damon." He wished his brother and exited the room.

The raven-haired woman turned back to Damon after the other Salvatore left. "What is the matter with you?" she asked him in a tone that made it seem like she was fighting with herself not to rip his head off this instant.

"What?" he asked shrugging in an innocent done as if hadn't done anything wrong.

"He really meant that!" she said widening her eyes to emphasize her point. She stood up and walked away towards the staircase.

"Elena!" he called vainly.

/

She was struggling with the chains at her wrists and legs; she was wearing herself out trying to break them. Her blood pressure was as its highest and her breathing was jerky and decelerated by the minute.

"You're not going anywhere, bitch…" A dark haired man with a repellent voice told her and shot a wooden bullet through the cage's bars. It landed straight in her chest near her heart making her scream.

Her body was strewed with wooden bullets. She didn't know how much more she would be able to take.

She roared like a tigress and fought even harder to come undone from the chains holding her as if she was an animal.

"Who's gonna help you now?" the man provoked and shot another bullet at her right in the middle of her eyebrows.

Caroline woke up in sweat gasping. Klaus immediately sat up beside her. "It's okay, love. It's okay, love." He tried to soothe her running his fingers though Caroline's hair as she panted. "It was just a bad dream."

Her breathing was jerky and she was slightly trembling.

'What the hell has her in such a state?' Klaus wondered.

She had been shaking in every direction for about a quarter hour sweating, and he had been stirring her on each side to get her to wake up, unsuccessfully.

"What were you were dreaming about?" he voiced his thoughts.

She curled up on herself and didn't answer him.

"Caroline…" Klaus insisted.

She lightly shook her head and passed a hand through her hair. "I don't want to talk about it." she said in a small voice.

Klaus approached Caroline on the bed and passed his hand over her shoulder and brought her in. She fell on his chest and he resumed with his stroking her hair.

Klaus had never been particularly gifted or even comfortable as far as comforting other people was concerned –even his little sister. Nevertheless, with Caroline, it seemed to come naturally; she brought it out of him.

He felt her relax a little under his touch so he continued with his caresses. He placed a hand behind her back and laid back on the bed taking her with him.

"It's okay, Caroline." He allayed her. "You're with me, you're safe." He said, as if the two propositions were related. "Nothing's happening to you." He assured her feeling himself boiling inside at the thought: he would tear apart whoever dared to throw so much as an insult her way.

"You promise?" Caroline asked in a vulnerable tone of voice.

Klaus felt his heart skip a beat. He didn't think he had ever seen her so vulnerable before, emotionally at least, and certainly not to him. He gently cupped her chin and raised it so she would see his face. He looked dead into her light blue eyes that even the dark couldn't preclude him from seeing clearly. "I promise."

He lowered his head to her and Caroline thought he was going to kiss her. He didn't; instead, he laid a soft kiss on her nose and her eyes closed at the touch. He pressed another kiss against her forehead; and soon, they were back to sleeping.

/

"So what is it brother?" Klaus asked his big brother. "I believe everything is fine concerning our family business…" he said in a questioning matter.

"Indeed." Elijah confirmed. "Things couldn't be better."

The two brothers were in Klaus' study. Elijah had requested that they retired to talk… privately.

"Very well. So you wanted to talk about…" Klaus waited for Elijah to complete.

"Katerina." Elijah said.

Uh-huh... That's all I'll say.

Again, sorry for the quality of this chapter. I will try to pull myself together.

Also, who else is dead because of the Klarosex in TVD's last episode? 'Cause I totally am! I actually wrote this chapter from the dead.

Reviews appreciated as always.
