A/N: Alright guys, it's almost time. I wanna know what EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY READERS thinks/wants Severus and Hermione to have. A boy or a girl. One child, twins, triplets…ect. :D If it helps, she lost twins, and the ministry did tell her that she will have to have a second child within 6 months of giving birth. So mention it in a review or message me! I want to hear what my readers want to think. Also it wouldn't hurt to begin guessing names. If you're thinking multiples, then I want to know what genders and names you're thinking of. Anyway, without further ado, here's your next chapter. I k now it's short but I do have pretty big school things at the moment.
Chapter 34
When Severus woke, he noticed something odd. He wasn't sure when it had happened, or who did it, or even why, but the pillows that had separated Hermione and him were cast on the floor, and Hermione was curled up next to him with her face buried in his chest. He felt strangely content at this, but was extremely confused. She looked peaceful, and he didn't want to wake her. It was a Saturday and breakfast didn't start until 9:30 leaving them an hour before they even needed to get dressed to go up.
He was desperate to know what she thought now that she knew everything. And then he remembered, he was headmaster. He did not have to attend breakfast, and many students chose not to. A quick charm told him that based on her level of exhaustion; she would be asleep for at least that next hour. So he gently slid out of bed, covering her with the comforter before heading to the kitchens.
"Master Snape, what can we do for you today," Dobby asked, surprised that the Headmaster had come down.
"I need nothing from you, I intend to make breakfast."
"What is it master is seeking to eat this morning, we would be happy to prepare it."
"You will not be preparing food for myself or Hermione this morning. I am making the two of us breakfast myself. I simply need use of a stove top."
"But master-"
"Dobby, you will leave me be."
"Yes master."
Severus ignored the bustle of the castle's elves around him as he made eggs benedict. He had quickly learned it was her favorite breakfast food. Although it had not been a meal he enjoyed eating as child, for emotional reasons, she kind of had a way of making it a little bit more enjoyable. Once it was finished he summoned a tray that would hold their meals and go across the bed.
He walked in, tray levitating just behind him, as Hermione started to stir from her sleep.
"Morning, Hermione," Severus said she sat up and the tray settled in front of her.
"Morning," She said as she wiped the sleep from her eyes, "Did you make this?"
"Yes."
"Oh. I was really craving pickles and haggus."
Severus made a face mixed with disgust and worry that maybe he should have waited for her to wake up.
Hermione giggled a moment, "I'm only kidding. Thank you."
Severus nodded as he sat down on the opposite side of the tray.
"You wouldn't have had something to do with the pillows being spelled across the room would you?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I just couldn't get comfortable last night, and they were taking up too much space."
"I understand."
They sat in silence as they ate, Hermione savoring every last morsel, before she spoke again, "I'm sorry, Severus. I honestly didn't know-"
"Hermione, that is why I had him explain it. I know you didn't know. And until you were aware, we could not make progress. I also knew you wouldn't believe it coming from me."
She swept up as much of the remaining hollandaise sauce with her last bite as she could and had to refrain herself from licking the plate clean. And then she started to get up.
"Hermione, where do you think you are going?"
"I wanted to finished my muggle studies essay and then-"
"No."
"Excuse me."
"One, you have an appointment later this evening with Poppy. You are not going to lost track of time. And two, I've decided that you are not allowed to work on your homework on the weekends."
"That's not for you-"
"Hermione, since the term started, you've worked on homework from the beginning of the day to the end of the day every day. You are two months ahead of schedule in every class you're taking, and I think your professors are running out of work. Your weekends will start on Fridays and end Sundays. You are going to spend those days relaxing, reading something other than school work. And I thought we might even use that time to work on the baby's nurseries, here and at Spinner's End, after we learn what we're having today."
Hermione blushed. She never thought of Severus as the kind of person who would want to decorate a nursery, let alone even want to know what they were having. She was dying inside waiting to find out. She didn't care if they had a boy or a girl, but she still wanted to know. She wanted to make hats and clothes, and decorate and get a name.
"Would that be agreeable?"
"I suppose I could try to avoid my homework."
Severus smiled, and summoned Winky to take their empty plates.
"How would you like to spend today, Severus?"
He was shocked that she had asked him what he wanted to do, and he wondered if part of it was her feeling like she had to make up for how she had been treating him. And he thought that maybe some board games would be fun, but before he could make the suggestion, the mark on his arm burned, and thankfully he was the only one being summoned.
"Hermione, I have to go now. Why not go spend the day with your Gryffindor friends? Just be wary in case the Carrows return before me."
Hermione nodded, with a look that could only be described as fear in her eyes.
She kissed him gently on the forehead, "Please come back safely, and don't be late for our appointment."
"I will most certainly try."
And then he was gone.
