"What time is it?" Havi asked in an attempt to be calm. He didn't think his prince had just kissed him awake but instead his half-asleep mind was playing tricks on him and just making him think what he wanted.
"Around ten." Vald turned back to the game console and continued putting the game away. "Guess it's about time for me to go home."
Havi wanted to ask him to stay the night on the premise of them continuing the game but knew it wouldn't be good. First thing was that he had already showed himself to be tired and offering to let the student stay would probably be seen as creepy or just overly polite. Second was his position as professor. He couldn't let Vlad neglect his classes' homework just because he was feeling selfish.
So Vald got ready to leave and Havi drove him home. They drove in silence, comfortable but with an unspoken tension somehow. The professor couldn't place it but felt it in the atmosphere between them. It wasn't enough to make him uncomfortable but it was there.
When Havi got to Vald's place he put the car in park and waited. Vald just sat without gathering his things or appearing to be about to leave at all.
"We're here," Havi reminded him. Maybe he had just spaced out and didn't notice.
Vald glanced at his house. "Hey… this might be awkward… but…"
Havi waited.
"You wouldn't mind… doing this again sometime?"
"Of course not." Havi smiled even though Vald wasn't looking at him. "Today was fun."
"Not just playing video games I mean. Like… spending the day together… like… a date."
Havi was a little taken aback. In their previous lives he had been the one pushing their relationship forward, so he hadn't expected the prince to push it forward in this life.
Before he could reply, Vald grabbed his things, yanked open the door and said, "I'll take that as a no so I'll see you in class sometime." The words were rushed and it was obvious he didn't mean them. Vald's backpack strap had gotten stuck in the car, ruining his rushed exit, so Havi was able to grab it and stop him from leaving. When Vald glanced back Havi was smirking.
"I said we could do it again. It being a date wouldn't change that."
Vald blushed but smiled. "I'll text you then."
Havi nodded and watched the student run into his house without looking back. He chuckled at Vald and himself and knew there was no way he could escape his beloved prince now.
Author: So I just realized how little sex this fanfic has compared to the original source material, when normal fanfictions I've read are the opposite. I guess it's because of the rape-y-ness from the early chapters, and I don't really like writing dubious consent, let alone that. But once they're a couple that won't be a problem.
