Bella'S POV
Saturday came pretty quick and I was walking downstairs to wait on Angela and Ben and then Jared to go to Seattle. Sam, Emily, and Embry would be meeting us there.
Charlie was waiting for me when I got downstairs. He looked kind of worried and unsure. "I'm still not sure about sending you all the way to Seattle. Can't you guys do something in the area? I'd even take Port Angeles."
"Dad, you said it was okay," I reminded him.
"Yeah, I know. I wanted you to get out and enjoy your life again. I just wish it didn't have to be in Seattle with a bunch of other teenagers on a Saturday night. Who is going again?" Charlie asked.
"Well, Jared obviously. Angela and Ben are going to as well as a couple of boys from La Push. Embry Call, he's a friend of Jake's, but he and Jared are good friends as well. Then Sam Uley and his fiancé, Emily," I told him.
"Sam? Isn't he the one you said was responsible for Jake turning away from you? You said he ran some kind of gang," Charlie said.
"I was wrong. Sam's a good guy. He's been good to me. I'm sure you haven't forgotten that he's the one that found me in the woods. He also reamed Jacob out for treating me badly. I guess I just blamed him because I needed to hold someone responsible for Jake abandoning me." Of course that last part was a lie. Sam had been responsible for my falling out with Jake the first time. But I couldn't exactly tell my dad why he'd done that, so it was better to absolve him of any responsibility. He had just been doing it to protect me anyway, so it truly wasn't something I blamed him for, and at this point, I didn't want to be around Jake.
Charlie nodded, seemingly accepting of my answer. "Yeah, he did save you that night. I'll always be grateful for that. Billy says he's a good guy too. He has a fiancé though? He doesn't look that old."
"Well, he's not overly old. He's a couple years older than me, but he's very mature and responsible for his age. He knows what he wants and doesn't see the point in putting it off," I said.
Just then there was a knock at the door. I immediately went to answer it and found Angela there. "Hey, Ang. Come one in. Where's Ben?" Angela was there alone. There was no sign of her boyfriend.
Angela walked inside. "He's not coming. We got into a huge fight."
I closed the door and immediately turned to my friend. "What happened?"
"I don't wanna talk about it. I just wanna enjoy tonight and try to forget. Hi, Chief Swan," she greeted my father.
"Angela, I know I've told you in the past to call me Charlie," he said.
"Right," Angela said with a smile.
There was another knock at the door. Again, I answered it and found Jared there, and boy was he a sight. He was wearing a silk black button down shirt with khaki pants. For a second I almost forgot my 'we're just friends' policy with him. "Hi. Come in."
"Thanks. You look beautiful," Jared said as he walked inside.
"Thanks," I said before closing the door.
"Hey, Jared," Charlie greeted.
"Hi, Charlie," Jared said politely.
"So you guys are going straight to Seattle now?" Charlie asked.
"Yeah. It's a bit of a drive. We should get there at around seven," Jared said.
"And you'll be back when?" Charlie questioned.
"Well, I figure we'll leave at around eleven, so we should be back at like one," Jared said.
"Be sure you are," Charlie said shortly. "And I don't have to tell any of you that drinking is illegal until you're twenty-one, do I?"
"Dad!" I whined.
Jared chuckled. "I don't drink, Charlie, and neither do my friends to my knowledge. I'm pretty sure Bella doesn't either."
"No, I don't," I piped up.
"Me either," Angela said.
"Just wanted to be clear," Charlie said.
"Are we ready, Ladies? We should head out now," Jared said.
"Yeah, let's go," I said before grabbing my jacket from behind the door. The three of us then headed out.

A couple of hours later, the three of us walked into the club in Seattle. The place was pretty mobbed. From the looks of it, the ages ranged from teens to mid-twenties.
"Wow, this place is busy," Angela said.
"Yeah, they get good business. Come on, I see Sam in the back," Jared said.
"You can see all the way back there?" Angela asked.
"I have good eye sight," Jared said simply. Somehow I got the feeling that had to do with being a wolf.
We waded our way through the crowd of people and made it to the back where Sam, Emily, and Embry were waiting at a table in the corner.
Sam noticed us first. "Hey. You guys are here. Hey, Bella."
"Hi, Sam. Angela, this is Sam and his fiancé, Emily, and this is Embry. Guys, this is Angela," Bella introduced.
"It's nice to meet you, Angela," Emily said warmly as she held her hand out to shake her hand.
"You too," Angela said as she shook her hand. She then shook Sam's and went to do the same with Embry.
Embry, however, seemed to go into a trance the moment his eyes with Angela. He was just staring at her like she was the most important thing in the world. It was like he couldn't look away. It wasn't the first time a guy had looked at a pretty girl with interest, but this seemed more than that.
"Are you okay?" Angela asked concerned.
"He's fine. Excuse us for a minute," Sam said before pulling Embry away by the arm. He seemed to know what was going on.
Suddenly I remembered the conversation I had with Jared after he told me he imprinted on me. Jared said it had happened with one look and that he didn't even know it until it was over. Was that what happened with Embry? Had he imprinted on Angela.
"Uh, Embry's a little shy, Angela. He wasn't trying to be rude or anything," Jared said.
"Oh, that's okay. Are you sure he's alright though?" Angela asked.
"I'm sure he's fine. We're just going to check on him for a second," Jared said.
The two of us then headed towards where Sam had gone with Embry. We found them around the corner by the bathrooms.
"Embry, calm down," Sam was saying.
"I have to get back. I have to be near her," Embry said as he tried to get past Sam to no avail.
"Slow down, Man. You've gotta calm down. You don't wanna freak Angela out. She knows nothing about wolves or imprinting," Jared told him.
"So he did imprint on Angela?" I asked.
"Yeah. That look only comes from imprinting," Jared said.
"Well, you weren't kidding when you said it happens fast and without warning," I said.
"I have to see her," Embry said as he made another attempt to get back to Angela.
Sam had a good grip on his arm and didn't let go. "Not yet. You're gonna freak her out like this."
"They're right, Embry. Angela doesn't know anything about any of this. If you go over there the way you are now, you're gonna come across as a freak. Calm down a bit first," I told him.
Embry stopped fighting and took a deep breath. "It was so weird. All I did was look at her and it was like she became everything to me. I knew that was how it was. I've heard the stories many times, but it's different when it actually happens. God, when I looked at her it was like she was the only thing in the world that mattered."
"We know, Embry. That's how it will be from now on. She will be the most important thing in your life. Congratulations," Sam said with a smile.
"Yeah, Man, welcome to the club," Jared said as he smacked his friend on the back lightly.
I was happy about this too. Angela was a really good friend. I hated having to lie to her about everything. Now I wouldn't have to. Angela would soon learn all about wolves and vampires. I could actually talk to her about everything was going on. And honestly, I believed Embry and Angela would be good for each other. They were so much alike. I didn't know Embry well, but I did know that he was shy and kind, just like Angela. They were probably perfect each other.
"Okay, I'm alright now. I wanna go back," Embry said. His voice was much calmer than it had been a few minutes earlier.
"Alright, just remember to keep calm," Sam said.
The four of us then headed back to the table to find Angela and Emily waiting. Sam took his seat next to Emily and Jared and I sat next to them. Embry took the last seat between Angela and myself. He looked at Angela and smiled. "Hi. I'm really sorry about that. I hope I didn't offend you or anything."
"No, It's fine. Are you okay though?" Angela asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I guess I just got a bit shy. I get that way sometimes around girls," Embry said.
Angela chuckled. "That's cute. Actually, I kind of prefer the guys who don't know what to do around girls. The confident ones are usually the ones that are only after one thing."
"Well, no one has to worry about that with Embry. He's the perfect gentleman," Emily said.
"Hey, what do you say we hit the dance floor," Sam said as he stood up and held his hand out for Emily.
Emily took his hand and they walked away.
Embry stood up. "Would you like to?"
Angela seemed to think about it for a minute, probably thinking of Ben. Then she stood up. "Sure let's go."
I watched them go and turned to Jared. "You're not gonna do something stupid like ask me to dance, are you?" That would be stupid. I had no problem with dancing with Jared. It was the dancing in general I had a problem with. I didn't need to fall and kill myself.
"No, I don't wanna take a trip to the ER. I don't think Charlie would appreciate that," Jared said only half-jokingly.
"And we both know that's how it would end," I said.
Jared chuckled. "Actually, if we're being serious, it probably wouldn't. I'd be able to stop it before you fell. But I know you don't like dancing."
I smiled at him. "Thank you."
"I'm good just sitting here with you. There was a time when I thought I'd never be able to do that again," Jared said.
"Yeah, me too. I thought we were done, even as friends. I'm glad to know that that's not true. I'm glad we're working on getting our friendship back. Even if we never go beyond that, I at least want that back," I said.
"Me too. My heart ached for you when I moved here. I wanted you back in my life more than anything, even if it was just as a friend. When I phased, I thought that would never happen. You were in Phoenix and I could no longer go back," Jared said.
"Do you miss Phoenix?" I asked.
"I miss my dad, but I have you back, so I'm happy here now. You?" Jared asked.
"Honestly, not really. At first I missed it a lot. You know how me and cold get along. I missed the hot weather. But over the last few months I've gotten used to the cold weather and I'm glad to have such a better relationship with my father," I said.
"Your dad's a good guy. It's obvious that he loves you a lot," Jared said.
"Yeah. We weren't really close before I moved here. Actually, it wasn't until the last few weeks that we began to get close. He helped me a bit where you and Edward were concerned. I wish we had been closer in the past," I said regretfully.
"You have now. Just focus on that instead of thinking about the past," he advised. "Hey, you wanna go order some food?"
"Yeah. I'm getting pretty hungry," I said. The two of us then got up and went in search of food.
