I'm back! XD Gosh, I am so so so SO sorry this took so long... thank you so much for being patient! After my exams finished I was planning on getting straight back into this... Didn't happen XD I lost motivation for a little while... It always happens to me when I start any sort of story, after a while I start feeling it's not good enough, even if I enjoy writing it.

But thanks to all of you guys reviews, I regained my motivation! ^^ As long as you guys continue to enjoy this story (even a little lol), and I continue to enjoy writing it (which I will, I'm having so much fun with it! XD), I'll keep writing away! I want to say a HUGE thank you to the people who have followed and reviewed so far, especially those of you who have reviewed more than once! It's really nice to hear from people multiple times so you can gauge reactions throughout the story.

I've never written something before as I publish it, and I have to admit it's really tricky. I change my mind SO often XD I changed this chapter numerous times, and I had to re-edit it and change stuff I didn't want to to avoid confusion and discontinuities later on... I'm terrified of making a mistake that leads to a discontinuity XD I already made a huge mistake earlier that hopefully you guys didn't notice... :P

Anyway, this was originally going to be one chapter but I split it in two so I would have updates faster! I'm going to try to update at least once a week, as long as I don't get writers block XD

Oh one more thing, someone pointed out they thought Dark Pit's name was Pitto, that's Pit in Japanese, HOWEVER I did notice I misspelled the nickname Hades gave him, it should have been "Pittoo" (as in, Pit number 2). I haven't played KI: Uprising in a while, so sorry if the mistake caused confusion!

Anyway, enough of explaining myself, I hope you enjoy! ^^ It's another fairly Zelda based chapter, sorry... ^^" Please, feel free to give your feedback, I love hearing from you guys!

Warning: Skyward Sword spoilers and violence.

He walked cautiously through the empty space. The darkness was overwhelming, and the silence unnerving. He carefully lifted his feet with each step, unsure whether they would meet back with solid ground when he placed them in front of him.

A low rumble suddenly resonated throughout the space, quiet at first, but then getting louder and louder until the sound was almost unbearable. A tall bulky beast crashed through a wall in front of the boy, and light flooded the area. The creature came into view; its scaled skin scraping against the floor, its mouth wide open revealing rows upon rows of dangerously sharp teeth. He advanced surprisingly fast on the boy, white toed feet crashing on the ground, shaking the earth beneath them.

The boy instinctively reached behind him for his sword, but his hand only met empty air. He twisted around, scanning every inch of the ground he could see. Where was the sword?

When he turned back, the beast's feet were metres away from his own. He slowly backed away, panic rising. The boy stopped abruptly when a sharp pain shot through his body. He gasped and fell to his knees, hand clasped in front of his chest as the pain receded. Just as he was about to drag himself up, he felt the pain again, stronger this time as it seared through every cell in his body. He heard voices, quiet at first, but getting louder and louder as time went by. He held his head in his hands, willing the voices away, desperately hoping the beast wouldn't take this opportunity to tear him to shreds.

He heard the creature roar, and looked up to see one of its scaly limbs rising into the air, swinging towards him at an unbelievable pace, a strike intended to kill…

Link woke with a start. He swung up out of bed, gasping for air, as a wave of dizziness and nausea swept over him. He rubbed his head to help clear his vision and took a few deep breaths to slow his breathing. He hadn't had a dream about The Imprisoned since before he defeated Demise, and the fact that the dream had returned the day he was going into battle seemed rather ominous. Another thing that concerned him was the fact that his chest was throbbing, in the exact same place as the pain had originated in his dream.

He slowly got up. The first night he had come back to Skyloft he was so tired he only had enough energy to tell Zelda the basics of what was going on before he went to bed. However, that hadn't stopped him sleeping in the following morning and, subsequently, going to bed very late last night.

Zelda and himself had spent most of the night on the roof again, this time chatting about more relaxed topics, reminiscing on old times, and imagining what life would be like after they moved to the surface. They had it planned ever since Link defeated Demise, but they hadn't quite gotten around to it yet.

The last thing Link remembered was gazing up at the stars before Zelda and himself fell asleep on the roof, only to be abruptly woken by Zelda's loftwing just as the sun was rising. A rather irritable Link had decided he was going back to bed, which was perhaps the wrong idea, since the combination of the late night and the restless, interrupted sleep had made him feel a bit worse for wear.

Link walked over to his window, unlocking the hinge and pushing it open wide. He stood for a few moments, gazing out at the people of Skyloft going about their business, not a care in the world.

There was an abrupt knock at the door. Link turned and walked sluggishly towards it. He opened it slowly only to see Zelda standing on the other side.

"You ready?" she inquired, eyebrow raised as she looked Link up and down.

"Not exactly…" he replied, dropping his gaze towards the floor.

Zelda moved closer, tilting her head to look up into Link's face. "You don't look great, are you okay?"

"Just… didn't sleep well…" mumbled Link, turning away to walk into his room.

"Bad dream?" asked Zelda, following him in.

"I suppose so… this… crazy thing attacked me and I didn't have my swo-" he stopped short.

"What? What is it?"

"My sword…" finished Link, swinging around to face Zelda, "How on earth could I have forgotten something so important?!"

Zelda stared at him, dumbfounded.

"I can't take it back, can I?" asked Link, who was now pacing up and down the room, "I don't know what effect that could have…"

Realisation stuck Zelda. "Oh, the Master Sword? Well…" she walked over to Link, who was now leaning on the table, "There's nothing directly stopping you taking it…" she turned to look at him, her expression steely, "but I get the feeling you shouldn't…"

Link had decided to follow the advice of Zelda. Given the fact she was Hylia incarnate, it seemed the safest option. He had sent the little robot Scrapper to go and retrieve a good quality sword from Commander Eagus in the sparring hall while he got ready. He would have liked to go himself, but as Zelda had kindly pointed out, he looked like he was ready to go back to bed, not fight a war. He was just pulling on his second boot when Scrapper flew in through the open window.

"I retrieved your mediocre sword, Master Shortpants," he yelled at the top of his voice, before throwing the sword at Link.

"Hey, careful!" retorted Link, as he just about managed to catch the blade. Scrapper didn't seem happy about him using a sword other than the precious 'Mistress Fi.' To be honest, Link wasn't overly thrilled either. He turned the metal over in his hands. It was great quality, but it felt rather…empty.

"Anything else?" asked the robot, rather nonchalantly, already leaving through the window.

"Yeah, did you manage to move the catapult to the Plaza?" asked Link, as he secured the sword across his back.

"Of course I did!" snapped Scrapper.

"Okay, okay!" sighed Link, "calm down." He paused for a moment before adding, "…thanks Scrapper."

The little robot nodded, and zoomed out the window towards the Plaza.

Link ran down the stairs at top speed, suddenly very aware of how late he was. As he reached the end he almost ran straight into Karane, who was walking swiftly down the corridor.

"Are you off?" she asked, as she stepped to the side to avoid a collision.

Link stopped. "Yeah," he replied, "Sorry, running a bit late…"

Karane looked at him for a moment. "Listen, Link," she started, "be careful alright? Zelda is going to be worried sick, you know."

"I know," mumbled Link, feeling a bit guilty, "Karane, make sure she…stays safe. I didn't tell her this, I didn't want to worry her, but there's a chance Ghirahim will come for her… He may not, since Princess Zelda would be easier to get his hands on….but there's still a chance."

Karane looked slightly shocked, but nodded nonetheless.

"Thanks," he replied, as he started jogging towards the door, "better go!"

Link reached the Plaza after a few minutes, only to meet a rather large group of people gathered there; Zelda, Groose and Scrapper amongst them. He approached them quickly.

"Late, as always," teased Zelda, who stood with her hands on her hips, smiling.

"Sorry…" he said, with a small grin, "all set Groose?"

"Yeah," replied Groose shortly. He looked a bit sick.

"Alright, I'll get Scrapper to move the catapult through the portal then," said Link, as he made his way to the Light Tower, intending to climb it and open the portal himself. However, before the could reach it, it opened, and a small white figure flew out. It circled as it came down towards the ground, and landed lightly.

"Pit?" questioned Link.

"Hey!" chirped the angel as he turned to Link, "they asked for a volunteer to see what the hold up was. I've always wanted to see Skyloft so I said I'd go!" He walked forward slightly eyes gazing upwards towards the sky, "wow…it's amazing! It'd be easy to fly in these skies… less obstacles."

Kukiel, one of the children of Skyloft, ran up to Pit and grasped one of his wings. "Are they real?" she asked, tugging slightly on it.

"Eh… yes…" replied Pit, pulling away from the girl slightly. Suddenly a whole crowd of kids descended upon him, asking questions and staring in awe at the strange being standing before them.

Link took the opportunity to say goodbye to Zelda, who was already walking towards him.

Zelda took his hand as she reached him. "Remember your promise," she said quietly.

Link nodded. "I will, Zel."

She took a step closer to him. "Good luck," she said, before she leaned up and kissed him lightly on the cheek.

Link blinked at her as she pulled back slowly. He heard sniggering to his left, and turned to see the kids, who had been pestering Pit only moments ago, staring directly at him and Zelda. Groose, on the other hand, looked like he was about to explode. While his and Link's relationship had improved greatly, to the point where they were actually friends, he was still a bit bitter about the whole Zelda thing. It was also rather unfortunate that Link just so happened to notice at that moment that Headmaster Gaepora, Zelda's father, was in the crowd.

"I better go," muttered Link, blushing slightly.

"Bye," replied Zelda, as she let go of his hand, her eyes brimming with anxiety already.

"Okay, Scrapper," yelled Link, "Hoist the catapult up into the portal!"

Scrapper did as he was told, pulling the giant contraption into the air and heading for the top of the Light Tower. He soon disappeared into the portal with it.

Link walked towards the wooden platform to the right of the Light Tower.

"Zelda, right?" asked Pit, as he walked up to her side. He looked a bit dishevelled from his encounter with the children.

"Yes," she replied with a smile, "it's a pleasure to meet you, Pit. You'll make sure he doesn't do anything stupid, right?"

"You can count on me!" said Pit enthusiastically. He turned to watch Link who was now running full speed toward the edge of the Island. "Eh…what's he doing?"

"You'll see…"

Link hoped off the edge. A short whistle soon filled the air, and moments later, Link reappeared on the back of a giant crimson bird.

"Whoa…" gasped Pit, "That's a loftwing, huh?"

Link circled the tower a few times before he shouted down to the Plaza: "Come on, Groose!" He then carefully directed his bird through the portal, disappearing in a flurry of red feathers.

"Ugh, right!" replied Groose, who also ran off the edge and quickly reappeared on his own Loftwing.

"Better go!" exclaimed Pit, running towards the tower, "okay Lady Palutena, let's head out!" Pit hoped into the air as his wings shone a light blue. He swiftly soared into the sky and through the portal after Link.

"Tell me what you sent to the others now, child, before I really lose my patience…"

Link simply glared back at the Demon Lord, who had him pinned against the wall by the scruff of the neck. They both scowled at each other for a moment.

Ghirahim let out a frustrated sigh as he let go of Link, and walked away from him.

Link leaned against the wall briefly, coughing to catch his breath.

"Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to kill you…Master has unfinished business with you," said Ghirahim, disappointment evident in his tone.

Link continued glaring at him, not saying a word.

"You're really not much of a talker are you?" questioned the Demon Lord, as he began pacing up and down the dungeon cell.

Again, Link remained silent.

Ghirahim sighed. "No matter…" he said, stopping with his back to Link, "Just because I said I can't kill you doesn't mean you can relax, boy." He turned his head slightly to look back at Link, a smile playing on his lips, "Break the spirit, break the cycle." And with that, he was gone.

Link stared at the empty space in front of him. He had no idea what Ghirahim meant but it certainly didn't sound good.

"Damn it…" he mumbled.

"So you can speak," said a voice from the darkness.

A being emerged from the shadows outside Link's cell. It was Dark Pit, who slowly walked over to the bars separating himself and the Hero, and leaned against them.

"What did he mean by that?" asked Link.

Dark Pit opened his mouth to answer but was cut off by another voice.

"There you are," muttered Dark Link, as he walked up to them, "C'mon, we're having another meeting."

There was abrupt booming laughter from above them.

"Hades is having way too much fun…" sighed Dark Pit, as he pushed himself off the bars into a standing position.

Dark Link caught sight of Link in the cell. "Well look who it is," he sneered, his red eyes filled with hatred, "Demise isn't the only one with unfinished business…" He walked away with Dark Pit in tow, and Link was left alone.

He suddenly realised how much his head was throbbing from the blow he'd received earlier, and slid down the wall into a sitting position, head in hand. His right shoulder and left hand were also aching from the other wounds he had obtained. He had woken up in the cold and damp castle dungeons after what he presumed was a few hours of being unconscious. Moments later, Ghirahim had appeared to interrogate him.

The Demon Lord was just as bizarre as the other Link had told him, and unfortunately, just as persistent. He had spent a good half hour trying to get answers out of Link, about what he'd found out and who he'd sent this information to, getting more and more frustrated with the Hero as time went on. Link was sure if it hadn't been for the meeting, he would still be dealing with Ghirahim right now.

For Link, dealing with the Demon Lord without his sword proved difficult. He was so exhausted to begin with that he didn't even waste any energy trying to fight back, instead opting to dodge most of his more dangerous attacks. Regrettably, some of them did make contact, inflicting more injuries.

Link titled his head back and leaned it against the stone wall behind him, closing his eyes. All he could do now was wait and hope the others got his message. That, and wait for a chance to strike back.

Lot's of jumping around this chapter, I apologise, but it was necessary to tie up some loose ends and for a bit of foreshadowing too XD

I feel I should stop warning about the Skyward Sword spoilers since it seems I can't write this story without them... TP ones too, come to think of it... so yeah, expect them from now on! XD

Please, review if you would like to! ^^
