KPOV:

"Kaydriella, I would like you to meet Prince Legolas of Mirkwood. Legolas, may I present Kaydriella of Rivendell."

"Me llamen and well meet Lady Kaydriella"

He is a prince, I must bow.

"Prince Legolas"

I bow to be polite and look up to see him bow back. He gives me a slight smile and I do the exact same back. He is so beautiful. He embodies the very essence of royalty; no wonder he is a prince.

"I believe we have interrupted Kaydriella from her true reason for being here."

"Forgive me Lord Elrond but I cannot stay long. I just came to grab a small bite"

"Ah I see. You have come just for the food and not to see me"

"My Lord I-"

"-No no, I understand. Oh may I inquire on how your trial this morning went?"

"It went very well. I am to begin training tomorrow, and everyday after that"

"How wonderful that is. Do forgive me Legolas, Kaydriella had a very important trial this morning. She was to meet with the Swords master and from hat I hear, she has become his new apprentice"

"That is a grand achievement indeed"

The elf Legolas speaks and looks at me with astonishment. I guess there are not too many female warriors from where he is from.

"Why don't we celebrate your achievement?"

"Oh no Lord Elrond, please I beg of you no celebration. Sadly, I still have not fully recovered from the last party thrown in my honor"

"Well we must do something to congratulate you"

"Lord Elrond, your praise is more than enough."

"I see now that I am keeping you so I shall let you pass. However, we still will do something, even if it is a small gathering of sorts"

I smile and nod my head. I bow to the prince, for he is royalty and it would be improper to do anything else. He bows back at me and I quickly move to the table with food on it. I grab two apples and some bread. I would sit down and eat it but the elf keeps staring at me. Instead I shall go to the stables; at least there I wont be stared at.

I get down there and greet the horses. I go by them one by one looking pet each one and give them some oats. I notice a new arrival and guess that is the horse his Majesty Prince Legolas came in on. It was a beautiful horse. I walked passed the horse and came across my own.

"Hello my friend"

I pat his head as he comes closer to the door.

"I have some terrific news. I'm going to be a swords master. Well I'm not one yet but someday I'll be"

I pull out an apple and give it to him. Het takes it immediately and begins to chew on it

"Just think, one day your rider will be a swords master"

I hug him and give him a kiss on his nose before I leave. As I'm walking out, I hear footsteps coming from the entrance to the stable. No doubt it is the twins. Only they would try and sneak up on me. This time, I can plan out my revenge for earlier today. I take the second apple in my hands and throw it towards the entrance. Quickly I hide behind a bale of hay and the two spring out thinking they've caught me. They look dumbfounded. I decide not to pounce them; it would be too hard to do.

"You two are so loud when you sneak. I heard you coming"

"I told you Elladan to walk softer"

"It's not me, you are the heavy footed one brother"

"Elladan, what are you guys doing here?"

"We wanted to find out how this morning went"

"I got the apprenticeship, no thanks to you guys"

"What do you mean? We taught you everything you know"

"That is a big of an exaggeration, and you both made me late this morning which really upset the master"

They both put their heads down. They felt bad that I had a legitimate reason for being upset with them.

"Do not look so sad. I did get the apprenticeship after all. Let's just not make beseeching me a habit"

They both were very happy for me. They both embraced me with the warmest regards. It was getting late and I wanted to make sure I was not late again for training.

"I must go now. There are a few things I must do before I retire for the evening"

"But it is so early"

"I cannot be late again Elrohir, no matter what. I'm not taking any chances. I really want this"

"Than we shall oblige"

They both bow and escort me back to the main house. I enjoy their company immensely and regretfully, part ways.

Sleep did not come to e easily that night, and when it did it came the foulest of forms. I relived the single moment of my life I longed to get over. A single moment that would always haunt me, forever.

Flashback

"Ada? Where do you want the pale of water?"

"can you put it by the table please Kaydriella?"

"Of course."

I put the water down by the table and walk back outside. I pick up my bow and quiver and start walking towards the forest. Suddenly I hear someone behind me and notch an arrow. I quickly turn around to see that it is just my sister Rose.

"Rose! What the heck are you doing?"

"I wanted to go with you"

"Rose you never sneak up on anyone with a weapon like that. I could have shot you"

"I'm sorry" she is starting to cry

"Oh no Rosie. Don't cry. I didn't mean to yell. I just don't want you getting hurt"

I walk over and hug here deeply.

I've really become more of a mother to Rose. Until Mom starts feeling better she can hardly leave her own bed. I know father is worried. That is why he came back here. He left the militia for a bit of to come back and take care of us. It was a very noble gesture of him. I just wish he would take us all with him to Rivendell. We live in such a small village and mother needs better healers. I know Rivendell has some of the best healers in Middle Earth.

"So can I still come?"

"Yes, You can still come. But you must promise to do exactly what I say. Okay?"

"Okay"

"Where we going sis?"

"We're going to get some dinner from the woods and herbal medicinal herbs."

"What types of herbs?"

"Mainly Athelas, We can always use a surplus of it. And if you see any wild flowers, do not touch them unless I tell you to."

"Oh please can we find a blue flower, Mama loves the color blue and maybe if we find the right flower she will get better"

My heart dropped. Oh how I wish it would be that easy. That we found a magical flower and it would make everything better. Why couldn't it be that simple? We don't deserve this. We never did. It isn't right for this to happen to her. If anything, it should be me. I should be the one in that bed. It came out of the thin air; this illness just came out of nowhere and hit her hard. Ada and I put on a strong face for Rose because we both know pretty soon this sickness will take mother from all of us.

"After we get everything done, and if we have time left, we can go looking for a pretty blue flower. Okay?"

"YES!"

We walked in silence for a little while, honestly it was better that way because then I could focus on the things around me. We came across a patch of Athelas and took half so that half of it would grow into more. I gave Rose some to hold so she could feel like she had a job to do.

"Okay now all we have to do is find something to take home so we can have a good dinner."

….Silence…

"ROSE! WHERE ARE YOU?"

Oh no where is she? I lost my sister in the forest. Ada was going to kill me. Deep breathes Kay, We'll find her she couldn't of gotten too far. If anything she is probably looking for me. Just stay calm and start looking. Close everything out and focus. Just Focus! Just Focus! Just Focus! Just Focus! Just Focus!

I feel her. I feel her fear and its coming from the south end of the forest. How in the world did she get that far away from me without me noticing?

I start running. I will not stop till I get to her. I run as hard as my body would let me my arms hit into branches and my ankles into roots of trees. I wasn't going to let anything get in my way. Suddenly the whole aura of the forest turned dark. This made me run faster, made the need to find Rose even greater. I make it to the spot where her fear had come from but she wasn't there

"Rose? Rose where are you? It's okay, it's me. You can come on out"

I hear a rustle coming from the bushes form behind. I notched an arrow and pulled back hard. If anything evil came out of those bushes, they would meet death instantly.

Rose came tumbling out of the bushes crying and all scrapped up.

"ROSE! It's alright. I'm here. I will not let anyone hurt you come on we got to go back now. This place is dangerous"

"Kaydriella, I'm scared. I'm so scared"

"Hey it's okay. Hold on tight to me okay and keep your head down"

I put her on the back and started running back to the house and that is when I smelled the foulest creature ever. It was an orc. No mistake.

"Rose? I'm going to put you down but I need you to keep that promise you made me before we came here. I need you to start running back to the house. I know you know how to get back there from here. You do not look back. You do not stop running. You just get home. UNDERSTAND!?"

"Y-Y-Yes… I love you"

I sigh

"I love you more"

I hugged her tightly and kissed her head. Then I put her down.

"This is the one promise you mustn't break to me. Now run!"

I see Rose running in the direction of our house. I need to buy her as much time as I can give her. Put some distance between her and the Orc's. I notch an arrow and take a deep breath. This is going to be a bloody battle. The only time I have ever faced a real life enemy was with Ada and now I'm all alone.

I turn to face my enemy and I see there is a bunch of them. What is a pack of Orc, doing this far into the west? I guess it does not matter because I needed to shoot. I counted twelve before I started to really fight. I had to draw my short daggers because there were too many and they were coming at me fast. I started turning and slicing and just throwing my daggers in any direction to make sure none got passed me. I couldn't let a single Orc get by. They were not going to go near Rose. I had to make sure she would make it home safe. I was wining. Wow I was actually wining. Ada taught me that there really is no wining in battle really, it's all about surviving, and that's exactly what I was doing. Less were coming at me so I was able to pick my bow back up and start shooting long distance.

"UGHHHHHH!"

Something hit me, hard. I was on the ground and things became blurry. I could only count the amount of globs that ran past me. Wait! I was not supposed to let them get pass me. Oh no ROSE!

I get up and shoot at one of the three Orc. It falls to the ground.

And then there were two.

I start to run even faster. I have to stop them. I take another shoot and hit the other Orc but the arrow didn't kill him. I ran up to the moving body and took my dagger and ended its pathetic existence. To

And then there was one

This was the last one. I would get him I was going to get him I knew it. I reach for an arrow to fire but there is nothing…I was all out of arrows.

I didn't have time to think about it. I dropped the, now useless, bow and ran.

I ran and ran and ran and ran….

"Kaydriella! Kaydirella! Wake up!"

Someone was shaking me. Someone was waking me up. I jump upright in my own bed to find me sweating profusely and tears still flowing form my eyes. I dreamed of it again, the death of my family. Lord Elrond was in my bed chambers waking me up. My eyes were darting everywhere and my heart was beating fast.

"It was just a dream. Look at me. Kaydriella, Look at me. It is alright. You are here now, you are safe, you are loved. Breathe. It was just a dream"

Lord Elrond soothes me back into reality. My heart slows down and my eyes relax. I breathe slowly but deeply in order to slow down my heart.

Authors Notes: (Just revised this chapter!)

So If you are just starting, I just revised this chapter and I would advise against reading the next because it wont make sense. I have to go back in and revise the next few because they need editing and don't go together at all.
