KPOV:

I had to go find Legolas and thank him, but it was a bit late to do so tonight. Plus, I had training in the morning and it was well in to the night. I have to get some rest or else I will be completely useless tomorrow. I guess it will have to wait. It, however, did not take long for me to run into Arwen. I knew she was very curious about what happened and I bet her father was not as forth coming with information.

"Kaydriella!"

"Good evening Arwen"

"You must tell me what is going on."

"Arwen, I am very tired from the events that have taken place. Could we possibly have this talk another time?"

"No. I need to know. My father wont tell me anything, therefore I must find out another way. I know you had some part in this. Please, I want to know"

"Alright fine, but it will have to be a condensed version"

"I'll take it"

I walk over to the ledge and sit down. It feels so nice to give my legs a break. My poor feet are aching.

"Arwen, your brothers were attacked while on patrol today"

"Is that why they were in the healing hall?"

"Yes. They were patrolling when suddenly they were ambushed by a pack of orc. They had dismissed their companies earlier so it was just them. When they tried to fight them all, they were injured and had to retreat. When they came back here, they needed immediate attention on their wounds. That was when I was coming back from training. So when I saw them hurt, they told me what happened. I discussed it with your farther and we agreed; I was to go out and terminate this threat at our borders. So I went, I killed them with some help, and now I'm back"

"Who helped you?"

"That guest of Lord Elrond, Prince Legolas"

"you two fought together?"

"Yes. He is quite the archer"

"He is perhaps one of the best archers living, Kaydriella"

I cannot but laugh a little. At first, I thought he would be some royal pain that wouldn't be able to keep up. But now learn that he is one of the best archers alive, what a fool he must think of me.

"What is so funny Kay?"

"My first impression of him was proved to be utterly incorrect, that's all"

"So…"

"So what?"

"So, do you like him?"

I cannot help but chuckle at the idea of me and him.

"Arwen, he is a prince"

"So?"

"So, it will never happen. He probably has some arranged marriage set up for him when he returns home. And if not an arranged marriage, then he must have thousands of elleths falling to their knees for him. Plus, I barely know him. How could I possibly know if I liked him from one encounter"

"Sometimes you just know. Haven't you ever heard of love at first sight?"

"Of course I have. I just don't think that is for me"

"Suit yourself, but I do hope you like him"

"Arwen!" I am shocked at her move to pair up him and I

"I think you two would make for a terrific couple"

"You have probably drunk too much wine in one sitting Arwen. I think it is time for both of us to go to bed"

"Fine, but this conversation is not over"

I roll my eyes and bid her goodnight. I reach my room and the first thing I do is wash off the blood that's on me. By the time I finish washing out the blood from my tunic, it'll already be dawn. I guess the Valar just hate me this day.

Just to my previous assumption, I wasn't able to get all the blood out of my tunic and dawn was rising. There was no point in trying to get any rest now, the sun was already up. Instead, I put on a new shirt and tunic. Since my favorite brown leggings had blood over them, I had to settle for another pair that really were too big for me. My boots remained in tact and so I gave up on my tunic and grabbed my swords. I was at the training field well before the master swordsman's. used that time to clean and sharpen my swords. Whenhe got there, he was shocked to see me.

"Kaydriella?"

"Mae Govannen"

"I must admit, I was not expecting to see you here. After the night you had, I would expect you to still be asleep"

"Well you are not wrong in your assumption master, however, by the time I got back and washed the orc stench off of me, it was far too late to get any decent amount of sleep. I wanted to be here, there is no excuse for training, right?"

"Right. I must admit, I'm impressed young one. But let us see how your technique suffers from your lack of sleep"

"I may be tired, but you wont find a single opening one me sir, that I promise"

"Challenge accepted, Kaydriella"

We fight for hours. Of course he is able to find a few openings but I still put up a good fight. If you would factor in that I was halfway sleeping, then I did an outstanding job. I was let out early, out of pity probably, from my training and almost collapsed on the gournd. Never had I felt more tired. I use the rest of my strength to walk to a more secluded area on Rivendell. There I lay underneath a tree and let sleep overcome me.

"My lady?"

"My lady?"

"Kaydirella?"

I suddenly awoke from my sleep to find that it was dark outside. The only light came from the moon up above and the lights of Rivendell. I look to see that Legolas has woken me. How strange, not many people know about this spot. I wonder how he found me.

"Legolas? What are you doing here?"

"Lord Elrond was worried, he hadn't seen you all day. He sent me and his sons out to look for you"

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry him, I just was so tired"

"Yes, I can see that"

"I wanted to thank you for yesterday, Legolas"

"Thank me?"

"For helping me with Elladan and Elrohir. I know I put you in a sticky situation and I appreciate your help"

"It was no trouble at all. May I walk you back?"

"Back?"

"Yes, to your room"

"Not just yet"

I look up and there is a sky full of dazzling stars. I always loved looking at the stars. They gave me comfort in knowing that my family was up there. My mother use to tell me that whenever I felt alone, I should just look to the stars, I'll find all the family I need up there. I lay back down on the grass and stare straight up. The sight is truly breathtaking.

"Legolas, you should see this"

"See what?"

"Come, lay down and look up"

He does as I say and looks straight up. I see his eyes widen at the sight

"Now tell me that is not worth waiting a while"

"You have me there Kaydriella, that is truly something worth seeing"

He turns his head and looks over at me. I turn mine and look at him. I cannot help but let a smile out. I turn back to the stars and close my eyes. The next thing I see is the sun as I open up my eyes. I have slept through the rest of the night out here. When I regain my awareness, I see that I had fallen asleep atop Legolas. I feel utterly embarrassed. My head rested on his shoulder and my hand gripped his arm. What and embarrassing thing to wake up to. I, however, noticed the Legolas was also leaning in to lean on my head. We must have looked like some romantic couple. What a scandalous position if someone where to find us. I stand up slowly, in efforts not to wake Legolas. I look to my shadow to try and figure out the time of day. Oh no, I'm late for my training session. I must hurry. I grab my swords and run for the training fields. I see my master practicing at the top and quickly run to meet up with him.

"Forgive me master, I have overslept"

"Well good for you, you can state the obvious"

"I sincerely apologize for my tardiness"

"You think that will win me back? A simple sorry?"

"Forgive me master but that is all I have to offer"

"A little more appreciation would be nice. I've only been training you for not even a week, and you cannot even show up on time? How do you expect to master a craft and not show up to practice it?"

"I know you are angry, but please let me make it up to you"

"Impossible. I worked hard everyday of my apprenticeship and never was late once. Yet here you are, coming late for the second time because you overslept on that Elvish prince of yours. Well, let me tell you now, you may have the favor of everyone here, but you do not have my favor. I might have to teach you to be a swords master, but that doesn't mean I have to make it easy"

"Wait what? What do you mean have to? I earned this apprenticeship"

"Please, you are but a mere child to this field. If it weren't for Lord Elrond's constant insistence, I would never have chosen someone like you to take my spot"

I cannot believe this. Did Lord Elrond give this to me?

"By the look on your face, I would guess you didn't know about other involvements in this apprenticeship"

"Please excuse me Master"

I do not have time to deal with an angered master. There is a far more pressing matter to which I must attend to. I turn my back and walk away. I have a few words I must share with Lord Elrond. I walk straight into the house and head to his study. I find Lindir outside the doors.

"Is he in there?"

"My lady, Lord Elrond is not receiving any visitors right now."

"I do not care, he has some explaining to do"

"I cannot allow you to go in"

I push my way past Lindir and push both doors open. I see three faces look up at me, all three of which I recognize. Legolas, Lord Elrond, and Gandalf were all standing around a table with a map on it. I cannot believe Gandalf did no tell me he was coming. I cannot get side tracked I came with a purpose, a purpose that must be answered for.

"Kaydriella, shouldn't you be in training right now?"

"Is it true?"

"I beg your pardon"

"Lord Elrond, is it true you had something to do with my apprenticeship?"

"My dear-"

"-You owe me the truth"

Legolas and Gandlaf looked interested in this topic of discussion too. But all three looked far more afraid of me right now.

"Yes, I ordered him to train you. But you must understand that no matter what, you were always the best candidate"

"Then why not let me earn it fairly?"

"This is a conversation for another time"

"No, we will discuss this here, now."

"Kaydriella-"

"-Please. Tell me"

Everyone could see I was beginning to tear. I worked so hard for this just to have it ripped right out from under me. I deserve to know why.

"When your father lived here, he was one of my best short swordsmen. No one could match him. I offered him the opportunity of becoming my Master swordsmen, which he accepted greatly. Another elf, who thought he was more worthy, challenged you father to a duel in order to prove that he deserved the tittle of master. When your father defeated him, he did so in a noble manor which made the elf even more angry. Before your father left, he resigned his duties as a master and wished for nothing more to be part of my militia every once in a while. However, he made an astonishing request. He wished for that elf that challenged him to take his place. I was in no position to refuse your father so I did as he asked. That elf was Arthion. So you see Kaydriella, if I did not step in, he would have never of picked you just because of the dislike he holds for your father"

"Why didn't you tell me any of this?"

"I did not think it was relevant"

"Relevant? He is my master, and I am his apprentice. No wonder he doesn't like me. You-"

"-Kaydreilla, calm down"

Gandalf took a step into the conversation to try and mediate it. All of the sudden I felt a certain mist coming over me. Almost as I was about to faint.

"Kay-"

Next thing I know is that darkness takes me.

Gandalf POV:

"She was going to find out sooner or later. You cannot keep hiding these things form here Lord Elrond"

"That is not fair, Mithrandir, and you know it. You are hiding something from here too"

"I am not hiding anything. She does not know about that part of her family and we don't even know if she will end up with it or not. Plus, I have every intention of telling her"

"What spell did you put on her?"

"No need to worry Legolas. It was simply a sleeping trance to make her relax. These past few days have been very eventful for her. She needs sometime to rest. Come let us leave her"

We all return to Lord Elrond's study. We were discussing this newly discovered pack of orc. All these factors are adding up to the possibility that evil is a foot. An old and dark power is growing; it cannot be denied now.

"There are many signs now, even you cannot deny that there is something evil at work here"

"Gandalf, if I acknowledge this, you do understand what that means, don't you?"

"I do. But sooner or later, the elves were meant to leave. Those who do not wish to make a final stand shall be excused. They have done what was asked of them"

"Legolas, you must leave at once to inform your father. Kind Thranduil will have to decide if he would like to participate in this new evil force"

"I will Mithrandir. Although, I would not rely on support from my father"

"You should leave by the next sunset in order to get the news to him in a timely manor"

"I would agree"

With that Lord Elrond excuses Legolas from the rest of the conversation. He must pack for the journey to Mirkwood for it is a long ride from here.

KPOV:

I must be dreaming. I see my mama, and my Ada; and beside them my little sister. They all were standing in front of our cottage on the edge of the hill. They all were smiling at me as if I was returning as a valiant hero. My mother looked healthy and my father looked proud.

"Kay!Kay!Kay!"

Rose ran up to me and jumped up. I caught in an embrace and we spun around and around. I held tight to her, making sure I would never, ever, let her go. My mother and father then joined the hug and we all sank to ground in this warm, strong embrace. Suddenly, Rose disappeared from my arms along with my mother and father. I was no longer in front of our cottage. I was in a darker and evil place. I could feel it in my bones. This place was full of death and despair. It looked like some sort of cave. There I saw a sickly like creature, thin right down to his bones, teeth sharp and out of place, barely clothed and savage like. In this cave, he called himself master. I step closer to see the creature but he notices my presence. He turns quickly to see me and I look into his big eyes. This is no monster; it cannot be a monster. Not with those eyes. I go to touch the poor creature but then he disappears like a vapor. The scene changes once more and this time I am back in front of my home. Only my mother stood in front this time. She reached out to me and I ran to her. Before I could reach her, the ground between us dropped and created a giant gap between us. There was no way across. Suddenly, I see my mother conjure up a stone bridge creating a bridge for me to walk across. I do just that but as I reach half way over the bridge a giant gust of wind hits me off the bridge and I'm falling. All I can do is watch the light from above slowly get smaller and smaller as I fall deeper and deeper. Suddenly, I see my mom jump down after me.

"NO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING MOM?! NO!"

She dives fearlessly towards me. She grabs a hold of my wrist and pulls me up into her arms.

"Hold tight my dear Kaydriella"

I don't question her. I grab hold of her waist and close my eyes. I feel a strong wind hit my face and try to pry me from my mother but I just hold tighter. When the wind stops, I open my eyes and find my feel firmly planted on the ground.

"Mother? What did you just do?"

"Kaydriella, my dear. I was not able to tell you something before. Something that I should have"

"What is happening? How can I see you? Talk to you?"

"Kaydriella, I only have a little time so you must listen. You are a very special person and I don't know quite how to say this. You are not like any other person alive. You are special. You can do things, things other people cannot even fathom. Like my mother before me, she could also do the things I have just shown you. This power is now within you. It is resting inside you, waiting to be awoken. You are so much more than you think. I love you sweetie, and you father and sister love you too"

I see her image start to fade, and I know what that means

"NO! don't leave me here! Don't leave me behind! Please, I beg you!"

"Kaydriella, you were not meant to come with us. You must stay"

"But-"

"-No, my dear. You cannot come where we are. Your time will come but until then, make us proud. You still have a duty to fulfill on Middle Earth"

"But I do not want it. I want to be with you and Ada, and Rose"

"Kaydriella, we are always with you. Remember to look to the stars and be brave. It is a tough world you live in, but I know you are up to the challenge"

She blows me a kiss and her image soon fades. The trees around me soon start to fade as well and I am left in black nothingness.

GPOV:

I was readying my things to depart. I had to warn the other kingdoms of this new upcoming threat we are going to face

"Mithrandir!Mithrandir!"

"Legolas, calm down what is it?"

"I was walking back to my room when I passed by Kaydriella's room. I couldn't help but overhearing some sort of panicking. It sounded like she was having a night terror. I knocked but the sound soon subsided. I was about to walk away when a huge gust of wind hit the door, knocking it down and me with it. I do not know what is going on, but something is wrong, I can feel it"

"Take me to her"

Legolas leads the way to Kaydriellas room, when I get there, I could not believe my eyes!
