Alec rested his head on his husband's shoulder and sighed with contentment as the cool breeze gently blew past. They had spent yesterday sight-seeing the Castro in San Francisco and today more general tourist stuff in the city before they headed over to LA. They were now sat in a lovely green park that was bathed in warm sunlight and it felt blissful. They only had two nights left but Alec wished it could last longer.

On the other hand, he was very anxious to get back to the Institute and had found himself worrying that Isabelle and Jace had burned the place down at various points, especially when both of them kept texting him ridiculous messages asking stupid questions like, "Hey Alec! Hope you are both having a good time! Do you know where that book is on how to distract giants? Kinda need it urgently. Kisses xxxxxx" or "That file in your office labelled 'accounts'. Was it important?" or "The consul is such a bitch. Told her to get over herself and quit whining. Clave stuff is so boring."

All of which were designed to induce Alec to have a panic attack. Luckily, he had Magnus to calm him down and overall their honeymoon had been glorious.

"What are you thinking?" Magnus whispered against his forehead before planting a small kiss there.

"I am thinking we should probably hit the road soon if we want to get to LA before dark."

"You're probably right. Shall we get food here for later or wait to see what's around when we get there?"

Alec smiled. He loved how normal and boring their conversations could be. When you had lived your life encountering almost daily conversations on demons, death and apocalyptic disaster it was so nice to be able to just talk to someone about the everyday and have nothing more to worry about than what you would be doing for your next meal.

"I love you," Alec told his husband sincerely.

"I love you too," Magnus said, almost like a reflex now. "But that didn't answer my question."

"Let's see what's around later. I am sure LA will have nice food too."

"And if we get stuck in traffic and everywhere good is shut?"

Alec knew this tack. This was Magnus' way of trying to persuade Alec that using magic to steal food and drink was completely fine. It wasn't and Alec wouldn't fall for it.

"Then we can order room service at the hotel," he responded brightly, tearing himself away from Magnus' arms and standing up. Magnus followed suit with a slightly grumpy sigh and they walked hand in hand through their beautiful surroundings to the slightly less beautiful parking lot, where they had parked the rental car that morning. Alec didn't know a lot about cars, but even he could tell how gorgeous the silver mustang was and he thought it would be a great idea to drive through the warm Californian air rather than portalling.

He rang Helen when they turned off the freeway into the city, just out of courtesy to let them know they had arrived.

"Alec!" she exclaimed warmly down the phone.

"Hi Helen. Just wanted to let you know that we have just got to LA."

"Fantastic! Are you guys going to come over?"

"It's getting late now so we are just going to head to our hotel for tonight. We will come over to visit tomorrow if that's ok?"

"Sounds great. How does twelve sound? We'll do lunch."

"Lunch would be wonderful, thank you."

"Can't wait to see all your pictures! See you tomorrow – give me a call if you need directions! Byeeee!"

"Bye Helen."

Magnus grinned at him before checking his hair briefly in the rear view mirror. Alec had told him on a number of occasions to not do this as it wasn't safe, but Magnus couldn't seem to help himself. Mind you, Alec could barely take his eyes off the Warlock so he couldn't really say much.

"She sounded enthusiastic," he quipped, the evening sun catching on his Ray Bans and flashing brightly.

"Think she just wants a gossip," Alec said as he stretched out and yawned.

"Oh no you don't Alexander. Don't you dare go to sleep on me, not while I am driving you."

"Jeez, ok. Keep your pants on."

"I'd rather you take my pants off," the Warlock told him with a wicked grin. "When we get to the hotel, obviously," he added when he detected the slight horror in Alec's face.

They barely made it into the lift, let alone to the top floor. Both of them were giggling uncontrollably and touching and kissing each other without being able to stop, except for when they checked in and when they informed the hotel staff they wouldn't need a hand with their cases.

Alec flung the door to their suite open and the Warlock practically fell on top of him with desire. Thankfully, the door had an automatic close.
They ended up on the bed, furiously removing each other's clothing in the dark as neither had managed to locate the light switch during their fumbling. Hot mouths and hands found purchase wherever possible and the stifling Los Angeles heat quickly made them both slick with sweat, but neither let up for even a second.

Even after two weeks of this on their Honeymoon they were neither of them tired. It felt like when they had first been together and went on vacation around Europe. Except that Alec had decided this time round was so much better because they knew each other so well now and, although he hadn't thought it possible, he found he was even more in love with Magnus now than he had ever been. He had possibly even fallen for the Warlock more every single day they spent together on Honeymoon

Alec pushed Magnus backwards onto the bed and slid himself over him. The Warlock growled with unrestrained desire and Alec took his length fully into his mouth, causing his husband to let out a strangled cry. He pleasured him with his mouth and tongue, relishing the sound and sight of the man coming completely undone beneath him. He tasted wonderful.

No actual words were spoken, just strained nonsense and cries of pleasure. Magnus gasped as Alec let his teeth brush the sensitive skin and he felt the Warlock's muscles tighten and bunch. With that, Alec stopped and released him and looked up at his husband with a small grin as he panted and moaned in protest.

"What do you want?" Alec whispered as he drew himself up so that their faces were aligned. Magnus pulled his head and captured his mouth in a longing kiss, his tongue probing Alec's mouth, tasting himself.

"What do you want?" Alec repeated when they broke apart, smoothing Magnus' cheek affectionately.

"Only you," Magnus told him in a tone somewhere between a whisper and a scream. "I only ever want you Alexander."

Alec smiled and kissed him again, more languidly than before. "Tell me what you want Magnus," he said again, gazing into his husband's eyes, dark and fathomless in his desire. "Tell me what you want right now."

"I want you to make love to me," Magnus told him, his voice now firm and unwavering.

Alec complied willingly and drew himself up whilst manoeuvring Magnus into place beneath him. They did not break eye contact as Alec entered him slowly, even though both of them gasped at the intensity.

Alec proceeded at a gentle pace, his thrusts each filling Magnus completely but he was gentle and every single movement spoke of love and warmth and affection. So often they made love in a furious way, neither really able to subdue his passion and this pace made for a change.

Magnus' hand pressed warmly on Alec's chest and the Shadowhunter covered his hand with his own as they moved together, looking so intently it was like they could see each into other's souls. He was lost and found all at once in Magnus, his entire world wrapped up completely in his new husband and he wouldn't have it any other way. They found their release together, in perfect sync, like they were one being. And then they collapsed on the bed in a messy heap, spent and satisfied and warm and so in love.

Alec drifted, exhausted now, but woke up groggily whilst darkness still surrounded them. It was stiflingly hot in the room and Alec let out a groan at his discomfort, waking up Magnus.

"What's wrong?" Magnus asked sleepily.

"Too… hot," Alec said as he writhed and twisted and pulled himself up. He ran his hand through his hair, which was soaking wet with perspiration. A red glow pierced the corner of his vision and he looked over to find a digital clock, glowing brightly with its 2am time.

"Whoa, you're right," Magnus agreed, raising himself too. "A-ha!"

Alec practically jumped out of his skin and the Warlock flung himself out of bed and went and fumbled around on the floor, picking up discarded items of clothing and flinging them back down searching.

"Magnus?"

"It's too hot because the air conditioning isn't on," he informed Alec triumphantly, standing up straight, one of their small room keycards in his hand. Streetlight filtered in thinly through the gaps in the drapes and caressed Magnus' outline gloriously and Alec smiled and laid back down in comfort. The next thing he knew the lights in the room all turned on at once and blinded him; the loud whirring of the air conditioning unit rumbled into action and a 'whoosh' of cold air washed over him.

"Mmmm, that's better," Alec said dreamily, his arm flung over his face to block out the unwelcome light. He felt Magnus jump back up onto the bed and then the Warlock flung his arm and leg over Alec's body. "Can't you at least wait until I have cooled down?" he asked with a chuckle.

"Nope," Magnus replied curtly and pecked him on the cheek. "You are far too irresistible."

"Yes, but you may kill me through over-heating."

"Stop being such a drama queen and hug me back," Magnus protested, wriggling so that they were entwined.

"You've left the lights on," Alec replied, kissing Magnus' neck and in no mood to fight back. The Warlock grumbled something Alec couldn't quite make out, then sighed dramatically before disentangling himself and getting up to turn the lights off. The room went dark once more, though the gentle whirring of the air conditioning continued thankfully and when Magnus returned to bed Alec folded him up properly and started to drift.

"Not even a thank you?" Magnus asked him.

"What?"

"Thank you, my lovely husband for sorting out the air conditioning and the lights, I do not know what I would have done without you – anything like that?"

"It was your fault though," Alec said amidst a yawn.

"My fault?"

"Yeah – you are the one who jumped me, before I even had time to take my shoes off."

Magnus chuckled and kissed the top of Alec's head. "Too goddamn irresistible," he muttered though Alec could hear the words plainly.

A few moments passed and Alec began to drift to sleep again. Sleepily, he told his husband, "I love you. Let's stay like this – just the two of us – forever."

"Mm good plan," he heard Magnus reply just before sleep claimed him.

"Thanks so much for stopping by!" Aline beamed at them and hugged both Alec and Magnus fiercely. "I know you guys are technically still on Honeymoon, but it is just so nice to see you."

"You too," Alec told her warmly. He enjoyed Helen and Aline's company and had grown close to the pair over the years. Even Magnus had a soft spot for them, which was unusual for him as he still held most of Alec's Shadowhunter friends in great disdain. Especially Jace. Well, that one was more of a love hate relationship form both sides, or so Alec kept telling himself.

"Helen's just getting lunch together – sorry, we had a bit of a delay because some of the kids had eaten all the bread and we had to go get more. But that's teenagers for you."

It was a decent spread – more than decent actually, it looked tremendous. Helen and Aline had made so many sandwiches that Alec had to ask if anyone else was joining them. There were also assortments of buffet food, ranging from hot hors d'oeuvres to piles of exotic fruit.

"You really didn't have to do all this," Magnus told them, helping himself to another glass of bubbly.

"Don't mention it guys, it is our pleasure," Helen told them, wrapping her arm tenderly around Aline's shoulders. "So you haven't heard anything from Camille since?"

They had been discussing the issue with Camille after spending most of the afternoon showing them pictures on their phones of their various Honeymoon destinations. And the radio silence that was at the same time a massive relief and a worrying, looming presence in their lives.

"No," Alec answered. "But we have had a couple of visits from Magnus' sister."

"Oh! I didn't know you had a sister!" Helen said to Magnus pleasantly, if not a little naïvely.

"Half-sister," Magnus corrected, taking a long swig of champagne.

"Paternal," Alec added and watched Aline and Helen's expressions drop in recognition. "Anyway, enough about us. How are you two?" Alec asked politely.

"We're great," Aline told him and squeezed Helen's arm affectionately. "Except…" Aline continued and then just left it there hanging.

It startled Alec and he looked over to Magnus for an indication of what he might say, but the Warlock looked equally bewildered.

"Except?" Magnus ventured, sounding appropriately concerned.

"Well nothing bad!" Helen laughed out nervously. They both stared at her expectantly and she shifted uncomfortably in her chair. "Well I guess we had better just come out and say what we need to…"

"We may have had – uh – other motives for inviting you over," Aline jumped in and both her and Helen smiled encouragingly at each other.

"Me and Aline have been talking about this for a while and we have made a pretty big decision. We are going to have a baby."

Both girls were beaming. Alec spilled his drink and had to wipe it up hurriedly before anyone saw.

"Wow! Congratulations!" Magnus said, getting up and hugging them both. Alec stayed where he was and tried to mop up the champagne from his lap. "How are you guys doing it? Who is your donor?"

Helen looked right at Alec and smiled. "That's what we wanted to talk to you about," she said. Alec stared back at her, not quite comprehending.

"We would like you to be the father, Alec."

A/N: I am not so mean to leave you with a cliffhanger so the next chapter has also been posted. Though it was tempting! Really, they should have been one chapter, but I couldn't resist splitting them up in this way!
