KPOV:
After passing the Aragronath, we stopped along a shore line close to the falls. I love traveling by boat. It's fast, swift, and so elegant. Sam started making a small fire to cook on.
"Kay, could you perhaps find some more wood for me to burn? I need some more or else this flame will go out"
"Of course Sam. Frodo, want to join me?"
"Okay"
"I'll come too"
Boromir added himself to the party. We walked a good way into the forest until we found acceptable wood to burn. I swear, I turn my back for minute and Frodo has wondered off. No surprise Boromir too. OH dear I must find them.
I drop the wood and immediately start to run .
"Frodo? Boromir?"
I hear something? It sounds like Boromir yelling. I pick up my pace and follow his voice. I get closer and closer as Boromir's voice grows louder and louder. All the while, I feel an evil presence lurking in the shadows.
UFFFFF
I hit something but there was nothing in front of me. Suddenly Frodo appears in front of me. It looked like he had put on the ring of power.
"Frodo, calm down it's me! Are you alright"
He was so scared.
"Frodo, tell me what happened?"
"It is Boromir. He tried to take the ring from me"
"Are you alright? Did he hurt you?"
"No. No Kay, I'm fine"
"Go to the others. I'll deal with Boromir"
"I cannot"
"What? Don't be silly, of course you can"
"That is not what I mean"
"Then what do you mean?"
"I think you have an idea of what it is I mean"
"I do but it is completely mad"
"I must go alone"
"Please Frodo, there must be another way"
"There ins't. We are all running out of time. Like the Lady Galadriel said, To be a ring bearer is to be alone "
" Frodo I-"
"-It's okay. I know"
I see before me the smallest of life showing the biggest amount of courage I've ever seen before.
"Frodo, you are truly the most courageous thing I've seen in my four centuries of life. I wish you well on your journey"
With that being said, I gave him a giant hug and a kiss.
"Now go, Frodo. Go!"
Frodo ran back towards the boats and I towards an outraged Boromir
"Curse You! Curse all the halflings!"
"Boromir? What do you think you're doing?"
I run closer to him to try and calm him down
"Get out of my way you troll! I will have that ring! It will save my kingdom"
"Boromir, you are not yourself please I-"
The next thing I felt was a fist connecting with my face. He had punched me. Boromir punched me and I did not even see it coming. The punch was hard and swift. I almost fell over but stood up to try and show it did not hurt. In all honesty my right cheek was on fire, it burned from the punch.
"See, that is what happens when you mess with real fighters you wench. Now do yourself a favor and just-"
"AHHHHHHH"
I charge him and tackle him to the ground. There was no way I was letting him get away with punching me in the face. We tumble down a hill and we both land off one another. He is the first to get up and walk over to me. My vision is still blurry from the tumble and Boromir holds me down. Oh dear. I did not think this through.
"See little girl. You cannot win. You will never win"
He goes to hit me again but this time I knee him very hard in a very sensitive place. His eyes look at me as I do it and he falls to the side in pain. Within a few seconds, I can tell that Boromir regained his sanity.
"Kay?"
"Boromir?"
"What happened?"
"Apparently you were drawn to the power of the ring and attacked Frodo"
"Where is he? I must apologize. Please Kaydriella"
"Now is not the time. We have to move. I hear heavy footsteps running towards us. We must move"
"I remember it. I remember it all"
"Well it did happen a few moments ago. I'd hope you's remember"
"I remember punching you. Kay-"
"This is not the time Boromir. Orc's are close we must regroup. You can apologize to me later"
I pick him up off the ground and head back towards the boats. When we get there, everyone has gone. I bet they went to look for Frodo.
"Where is everyone?"
"I don't know, but if what I'm hearing is correct, we have company. Run!"
Boromir and I run back into the forest and I hear people fighting. I think I hear Legolas' voice calling me but they sound far away.
"Boromir this way"
I run towards the voice I hear. The fighting gets louder and I turn back to see that Boromir had disappeared from me.
"Boromir!"
I try yelling his name. but I know where he had gone. He wanted to find Frodo, to apologize. I kept running towards the fighting to find Aragorn, Legolas ,and Gimli all fighting Urk-hai.
"Legolas!"
He turns immediately to me and draws back and arrow. I duck knowing that the true target must be behind me. Right as I duck, Legolas sends an arrow right over my head and into and Orc.
"Kaydriella?"
Before I could answer him I heard an Urk-hai coming up behind me. I hear Legolas pull back on his bow but I am ready to fight. I slide right under the filthy Orc and jab him in the back. The orc swings at me but I dodge and use my other blade to end its life. Straight into the throat and straight back out. My blades were so sharp. Haldir really did have them sharpened. I turn around and see Aragorn fighting so many Orc's. I have to help him.
"Legolas!"
I run up to him from where I stood
"Legolas, cover me"
"Always"
I run straight towards Aragorn. There was no way he would be ale to fight off all of them. They all had a white hand on their armor or doubt the mark was Saruman's. He was behind this. Just the thought of him makes me viciously angry. That evil, vial, cruel man should burn for the rest of eternity.
"Kaydriella!"
Aragorn's voice brought me back from my head.
"Kaydriella! your hands!"
I look down to see that both hands were fisted with my knives in them. There were also two balls of fire surrounding my fists. I could not feel the heat, in fact it did not feel like this was even real.
"How is this possible?"
I ask myself for I am truly in shock over this.I thought Saruman took almost everything? Than how is this possible?
"KAY!"
I look back at and see that three Orc's were running my way. I put a knife back into it's sheath and prepare to try something I haven't done in almost a year. I run towards the three Orc's. One Orc gets afraid and turns to run in the other direction. I throw one knife right into the forehead of one orc and keep running towards the second. The second Orc now tries to turn and run but I'm already within firing range, literally. I jump high into the air and throw both fire balls directly at the orc. My landing is a bit off and I end up rolling an ankle but the orc was now engulfed in flames running.
I cannot belive I just did that. All this time, I thought, we thought I was powerless. How could we make such a mistake. All this time!
"Kaydriella?"
"Legolas?"
"Are you alright? What did you just do?
"I'm fine and I threw some fire at an Orc"
"But I thought you said Saruman took everything"
"So I thought too"
We both stared at each other until we head a horn being blown.
"The Horn of Gondor!"
"Boromir"
Aragorn and I say it at the same time. We both dash in the direction of the horn. Boromir was calling for aid. He must not be able to fight off all the Orc's
"Boromir!"
I yelled his name in hope of a response to find where he is. I could hear fighting so I followed the sound. Aragorn was ahead of me and from the looks of it, he had found Boromir. I jump through the bushes to see a wounded Boromir and Aragorn fighting a massive Orc. I take my bow off my back and aim. Two arrows, a swift shot right into the back of the Orc. The wounded Orc was now all Aragorn's.
"Boromir! What did you do?"
"Kay, I'm so-"
"Shhhh, I don't want to hear any of that. I forgive you"
I look at the three arrows in his body. If I have my powers back, then I can heal him. I put my hands on his chest and begin. The wounds were deep and fatal so there was no way I could heal him without getting injured. The only spell I could think of would cause me to bare the wounds myself. But I heal quickly, so that would not be a issue.
"Kay, What are you doing?"
"Stay still Boromir"
"No I can see what you are doing. Stop it"
"No! I will not lose you too"
My voice was raspy and desperate. I could not lose Boromir too. I already lost Gandalf, I refuse to lose him so I continue the spell. I can feel a cut form in my shoulder from where he took an arrow. The pain was great but tolerable. Suddenly, I was ripped away from Boromir. Someone had broken the connection. My body went through a moment of shock and numbness being that the spell was disrupted. I look up and see that it was Aragorn who threw my from Boromir's side. I tried to pull myself up and walk back over but my body wouldn't let me. I pulled up my torso with my arms and just watched as Boromir shared his lasts words with Aragorn. I could hear everything they said. I could even picture both of their faces. My eyes began to tear as I heard Boromir's final exhale. Aragorn kissed him and closed his eyes. My eyes closed as well, letting tears run down my face. I tried to hide them but they just would not stop flowing. Legolas helped me up and there I cried once more, in his shoulder.
"Quel esta, Boromir" (Rest well)
I heard Legolas whisper it. After standing idle for a bit. Aragorn calls for Legolas' help. He wants to send his body over the falls. Legolas helps carry him back to the boats. They place his shield and sword with him. Aragorn says a few words before pushing the boat down the river. Legolas says an elvish prayer while Gimli and I stand from a distance. I sit down and put my head into my knees. One more tear I shed, for Boromir.
"There there lassie. I know"
Gimli pats my back and sits down beside me.
"Hurry, Frodo and Sam have reached the eastern shore"
Legolas does not know. he does not know that Frodo and Sam continue on the quest, we do not. Gimli and I arise from where we sat and walked closer to Aragorn
"You mean not to follow them-"
"Frodo's fate is no longer in our hands"
"Then it all has been in vain. The Fellowship has failed" Gimli spoke up and I remained silent
"Not if we stay true to each other. We will not leave Merry and Pippin to torment and death"
Aragorn puts his hands on Legolas and Gimli's shoulders. I just stare at the ground.
"Not while we have strength. Leave all that can be spared behind. We travel light. Lets hunt some Orc"
And just like that we were off. Aragorn grabbed a knife and ran off. Legolas followed right behind with an eager Gimli behind him. I look back at the falls before I go. I run back to the giant rock by out boats and let my feelings take control. I put my hand on the side of the rock and close my eyes. I small warm feeling moves through my hand and when I open my eyes, a small tomb stone was created.
"Here lies Boromir, son of Gondor."
I smile just a bit. At least I could give him a proper tomb stone.
"May this rock be blessed with the power of longevity. May it weather the toughest storm and fire but remain as pure as it is today"
Finally, I kissed the rock beside the lettering and ran to follow the others. This way Boromir's name will never fade, no matter what.
