It was happening. On Sunday, Spencer was already packing his things. Yes, the dreaded day had come. Spencer Wright was being sent off to a mental hospital. Beverly Heights Mental Institution to be exact and the dreaded day would actually be Monday. For now, Spencer was just preparing. The teen had given up arguing and was just going to be mega-normal until this all blew over. After all, the teen wasn't crazy, and once the doctors and nurses realize this, he'd be home free. He just had to play it cool until then.
However, Billy wasn't taking this so well. The two had come up with a plan for Billy to come visit with Rajeev and Shanilla after school. It was a bummer the institute doesn't allow cell phones or computers. With Spencer not around, the spirit was going to be all alone and bored at the house. Sure, he could hang out with Shanilla and the Jeevester but they could only hang around for so long. Also without Spencer being the voice of reason, Billy highly doubted the Wrights would treat his stuff with the respect it deserved.
The rockstar wasn't around while Spencer packed. Probably off eating his feelings, Spencer assumed. The teen searched for his things and threw them into the suitcase on his bed. When the pack was almost full, the teen listed off the things he need to himself.
"Okay. So I got my clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash, towels, notebook, pencils and what else?" Spencer looked around the room for anything else he wanted to bring. He searched around for some of his hand-held games. The institution allowed them. He also decided on bringing the books that were lying on his desk. They were some old thriller/horror books that he had never gotten around to finish reading. He tossed them into the pack and continued searching for the game. When the elevator signaled that someone was coming up, the sound startled Spencer. He quickly got up from where he was crouched on the floor and turned to the door. He expected to see one of his parents but instead saw his little sister, Jessica, step out of the elevator. Spencer frowned and return to searching for the console. He didn't feel like dealing with his sister at the moment but knew she wasn't going to go away easily.
"What do you want, Jessica?" He asked dead-panned, not looking at her.
"Is it true?" Jessica asked as she took a step towards him. Spencer didn't respond but he did find his hand-held. He got to his feet and put the console next to the pack.
"Is what true?" He finally replied as he headed for his desk to retrieve some games to bring.
"Mom and Dad are sending you to a mental hospital because they think you're crazy." She stated. Spencer was pretty sure she was smiling when she said it.
"I'm not crazy." The teen rolled his eyes, still not facing his sister. He opened one of the drawers and started shuffling through all the electronics.
"So, they aren't sending you away?" Jessica pushed further, though fully aware that her brother did not want to talk about it.
"Look. Just cause-"Spencer snapped but was cut off when his sister spoke up again.
"I don't think you're crazy."
"Say what now?"
"You're weird but not crazy."
The room fell silent. Jessica was now right behind him. Spencer was trying to make sure what he just heard wasn't just his imagination. Did his sister really say that? Suddenly something wrapped around his middle and he realized his sister was hugging him.
"Thanks. Jes." Spencer breathed.
"No problem." She released him from the embrace and head back for the elevator. "Now hurry up and fix this. Without you around, I have no one to spar with at home." Jessica grinned and stepped on to the elevator. Spencer smiled a little as he watched his sister leave.
Author's note I guess:
Jeez I haven't been on this thing in a long time.
I honestly have no idea if I will be continuing this fanfic considering that I haven't spoken with the friend who was helping me write this in over a year...
However, I've had this chapter sitting in my computer for a long time so I see its only fair that I share what I do have.
I hope you enjoyed this sibling moment as much as I enjoyed writing it. ^u^
