Wrong-boy-who-lived.
Part 3.
The group of academy students gathered in the common room provided.
"Remember, stick together no matter how the classes separate you, show you're proud of your differences and don't try to hide them, if anyone bothers you ignore them but if they get violent or their words hurt too much, call me and I'll deal with it." Melody told them.
The children nodded. "Yes, Melody." they replied.
"Harry, no doubt Dumbledore and the Potters will try something, so stay close to me when you can and don't talk to any of them unless I'm there."
"Yes, mum." Harry said, rolling his eyes.
"Hey, that's my line!" Melody pretended to whine.
The students laughed along with Melody as they made their way to breakfast.
Melody was unsurprisingly right about Harry, on their way to the hall they were confronted with Dumbledore, the Potters, Amelia Bones, some aurors and Sirius.
"Harry, may we see you, you must return home." Dumbledore said, sending more compulsion charms.
Harry looked over to Melody for guidance.
"It's up to you." Melody said. "But whatever your decision I'll be standing right beside you."
"Let's get this over with then." Harry sighed.
"Behave, everyone." Melody told her students. "Don't do anything I would do."
The Muse academy students and teacher laughed as they parted.
It was an uncomfortable trip to Dumbledore's office, Melody could feel the accusation of kidnapping on the tongues of the Potters. Once inside the office Lilly tried to hug Harry.
"Oh, Harry!" she cried.
Lilly's attempt was stopped by Melody stepping in front of Harry and holding her hand out.
"Step away from my student, Mrs Potter." she said in an unusual emotionless voice.
"How dare you? I bet you kidnapped my son!" James started.
Melody's face remained blank.
*Why was I chosen for this? Zoƫ is better suited for handling official stuff like this.* Melody thought.
"Instead of blindly accusing me and the academy, why don't you ask Harry about it? I'm sure he'd like his opinion to be heard." Melody suggested.
During the time that the Potters had been accusing Melody, Harry sent a silent look at Sirius to ask if it was okay to tell the whole truth. Sirius nodded and quietly made his way over to Melody and Harry's side of the office.
Harry kept his emotions in check as he spoke. "After Voldemort's attack everyone gradually ignored me, even on my birthdays I was forgotten in favour of Conner getting a big and extravagant party"
"Harry, we're-" Lilly tried to say.
"Shut it! I don't want to hear you're excuses!" Harry suddenly shouted, he then spoke more softly. "Do you know the permanent damage it does to a child, when their parents ignore them in favour of their brother, to work out that because they're not special they don't deserve attention. I still wake some nights, afraid the family I made at the academy will leave me, but then I remind myself that they never will because they show me the love and respect I deserve without asking for anything but my own friendship in return."
By now Harry needed a while to calm down, so with his consent Melody continued the story.
"One of the only people to remember and care for Harry was Sirius."
It was now that everyone noticed that Sirius had moved places.
"Sirius is a friend of my sisters and myself, he got in contact with us and asked us for help because Harry wasn't going to last much longer without acting out in some way. My sister, Maria, went and gave an invitation to the academy and Harry accepted, it was by his choice that you were not told."
"You're the reason Harry ran away?" James asked, more demanded, Sirius.
Melody calmly extended her arm to shield Sirius and Harry from any attacks.
"Mr Potter, calm down before you do something you'll regret. Sirius was well within his rights to do as he did." she said calmly.
It was only Harry and Sirius who knew the raging storm that was waiting to be let out. Muses, especially the three youngest, had notorious tempers that only came out when someone insulted or attacked any of their friends and family.
"Now, I'm sure that Harry would like to go to his classes and Sirius his teaching." Melody said.
The three stood up to leave.
"I must insist that Harry be returned to his parents." Dumbledore said in his grandfatherly voice.
"Insist all you want, unless Harry wants otherwise, he stays with the academy." Melody told him, her voice returning to it's usual tone.
"I'll take you to court!" James threatened.
"Yeah, thing is, we don't care. The status that my sisters and I hold put us quite above your laws and petty ministry. Not directed at you, Miss Bones."
Melody then left with Harry and Sirius.
Lilly was still in shock over what happened, her son refused to acknowledge her.
"Can't something to be done?" she asked.
"I'm afraid not." Amelia told them. "Melody and her sisters are known as the Muses, they are one of the highest powers in the entire world. And they were also within rights with what they did, and they aren't holding Harry prisoner."
"How could he take Harry, how could he betray us like this?" James seethed.
"According to Mr Black it was because of neglect, and I will be launching a search into these complaints. Good day, Mr Potter." Amelia said and then left.
Dumbledore sighed, everything was going pear shaped. He had readily agreed to the exchange when he heard it was the acclaimed Muse academy, if he could get them on the side of the grater good then Connor would have all the backing he would need when Voldemort arose again, even though he was told that the Muses remain neutral in any war as long as it didn't drag them into the conflict like one or more side attacking them or using something they own or made. He hoped this conflict didn't affect his plans.
As Melody, Harry and Sirius walked down the halls, Melody spoke up.
"You alright, Harry?" she asked.
"Yeah. Why do I get the feeling that I'm going to be asked that a lot?" Harry responded.
"Because we wouldn't care about you if we didn't ask." Sirius responded.
"Padfoot, you better go back to the academy for now, I have a feeling Mr Potter will be tempted to hex you until he leaves." Melody said.
"Good idea, can you fill in for any of my lessons I'm not going to be in?" Sirius asked.
"Will do."
Sirius took out a crystal from his pocket and it began to spin, Harry and Melody shielded their eyes as their was a flash of light, when they uncovered their eyes Sirius was gone.
Harry took out his lesson plan. "Hey, what a coincidence, I've got DADA first thing." he announced.
Just then the bell rang for first class.
"Let's go then." Melody said.
Once they got to the class room they waited until everyone had filed in.
"You're probably wondering where Mr Black is, well thanks to angering some people who are in the castle at the moment he is else where until they leave, so I'm taking over until he returns."
Melody picked up the book for the class and looked at a few pages before closing it and tossing it over her head.
"No offence to two of my sisters, but I hate learning books." she announced in her usual manner of teaching.
Those from the academy who were in the class smirked, while the Hogwarts students smiled at prospect of Melody being fun to learn from or scowled at how Melody acted - especially a fuzzy-haired girl when she saw the treatment of the book.
"People remember things better through experience and fun things and facts." Melody continued. "I am not an expert in the field of defence like my sister, but I still know many things through my natural field, music."
"How can music be used as defence." Connor rudely shouted out.
"Simple. The pitch, tone and other things of sound can be utilised to defend or attack. For example, in the early days of the Earth, when man didn't have the capabilities that we have now, so when hunting animals like mammoths they would make a lot of noise to scare them off cliffs."
"You know the early days of the Earth, the times no one remembers?" asked a random pureblood.
"Of coarse, it's common knowledge in the mundane world, it's usually taught during primary school. And don't put it down just because they know it and you don't, they did perfectly good research that proves what they teach." Melody interrupted the pureblood from saying anything about the inferiority of those without magic.
"What are the other uses of sound." asked Neville Longbottom.
Melody smiled at him. "Well as I said, sound can be used to scare animals as long as it's used right, it can also hurt people as well. A high enough pitch can cause migraines in people and make animals loose control. And a low enough pitch can make someone lose control of their bowels."
"Seriously?" asked most of the class.
"Hand on heart." Melody said, putting her hand over her heart. "Unfortunately, I was made to promise to not teach anyone how to reach it." she then pouted.
"That didn't stop her 'accidentally' leaving pages lying around about it though." Jake commented.
Melody whistled innocently as the students looked at her.
"Anyway, I'm going to teach you what pitch affects what creature and what instruments can reach those pitches." she said.
"But this isn't on the curriculum." Hermione Granger protested.
"So? It's still more likely to save your life than the stuff that you've been taught. And in case you haven't noticed, I'm not one to follow rules."
During break a few of the Muse academy students were walking down the halls to their common room.
"Hey, freaks!" someone yelled.
The group, consisting of Tara, Alex and Pip, turned to face the speaker.
"What do you want?" Alex asked in a board tone.
The one who had spoke was Draco Malfoy, accompanied by his two body guards and some other students in the background.
"We want you to know that freaks like you don't belong here." Draco sneered.
"Basic creature rights say we do, all beings have a right to learn." Pip said.
"What dumb idiot said that?"
"Merlin." Pip said.
That made Draco shut up.
"And if you think you can get your 'point' across, then may we remind you that if anything happens to us that's based off prejudice or something similar, Muse academy will easily take the exchange else where or just leave altogether, leaving magical Britain to fester in its inbreeding and other foul things that will spell its down fall." Tara said.
"And we are taught self-defence at the academy, so I wouldn't try to threaten us with violence when we could easily beat you." Alex pointed out.
"Bye." all three said, then walked away leaving some very stumped students.
Harry was sitting with his friends at lunch when he noticed a small group approaching.
"Here we go, wondered when he was going to get here." Harry commented to his friends as he turned around to face his brother and his friends.
"What can I do for you, brother of mine?" Harry said.
"You made mum cry. What did you do?" Connor demanded.
"Nothing, I didn't say or do anything to her." Harry answered. "Any other questions?"
"Why'd you leave? Mum and Dad were distraught when they couldn't find you." Connor demanded again.
"Simple, I was being neglected. Mum and dad gave all their attention to you."
"Connor got more attention than you, so you ran away. What a weak excuse." Ronald Weasley said rudely.
"When I get forgotten on my own birthday and not even noticed by my parents most days, it isn't a weak excuse" Harry answered. "Mom and dad didn't even notice that they signed the papers to allow me to go to Muse academy."
Before the conversation could escalate, Melody appeared at the table.
"Hey, kids." she said.
"Hey, Melody, when's Sirius coming back?" Jake asked.
"When the Potters leave, he prefers to keep his manhood intact, which he could lose if he got confronted by them." Melody answered. "Oh, hello. You're Connor, right?" she turned to Connor.
"How can you not know the boy-who-lived?" Ronald asked rudely.
"Simple, I don't care. He may have temporarily defeated Voldemort, but that was something anyone could do if they bothered to rally up enough people and try. And surviving the killing curse can actually be common if the time and place is right, the moon, stars and earth affect how magic works. Connor just so happened to be in the right place at the right time. Oh, and a true hero doesn't use their fame to get what they want and act all pompous about it." Melody said.
Connor and his friends stared open-mouthed at Melody. Connor and his friends tried to say something but they found they couldn't, Melody had used her powers over sound to silence them. They then left in a huff, no doubt going to Dumbledore's office to complain about her.
