Despite the two having had the best of intentions for one another, neither Ruby nor Jaune were willing to budge from their plans for the other. In the end, the first day passed without much accomplished. Ruby, dejected at her failure to enjoy a good picnic with Jaune, just put the food she'd prepared in the fridge and immersed herself in the internet and music. Jaune, feeling like he'd failed miserably, decided to just hit his PlayStation Vita and try again tomorrow. Neither could figure out where their plans had gone wrong.
Seriously, what was up with him?!
Seriously, what was up with her!?
Both lost in their failures to make the day as they'd planned failed to notice another blonde, her wicked mind scheming, plotting, doing whatever it so wished. Walking into the room, her trademark 'Oh crap, what has she done this time?' grin plastered across her face, both Ruby and Jaune were oblivious to her presence before she made herself known.
"So, how is my baby sister and her boyfriend doing?"
"Fine Yang."
"Yeah, we're good."
"You two must have been pretty busy today to be so tired. Maybe you two were falling around a bit too much? Like say, in the hallways?"
""Eh?""
Saying so, Yang took out her scroll and switched over to her photos library. In it were about a dozen pictures, all from various angles, of Ruby and Jaune's little collision from earlier. Some of the pictures were rather compromising, and would no doubt paint Jaune in a rather bad light. With these photos being shown to them, both Ruby and Jaune could only jump up and panic at what Yang had in her possession.
"Yang! What the hell are those!?"
"Oh these?" Anyone watching would swear her grin grew three sizes at that moment. "They're nothing... Or rather, they can be. You see, it's a bit unfair if the younger sister gets to enjoy the festivities when the older sister can't. You pick up what I'm putting down? Lend Vomit Boy to me for a while, so I can enjoy the festival too."
"What? No, Jaune is my boyfriend!"
"Then these pictures get spread all over Beacon tomorrow."
"Fine Yang," started Jaune. "You're a horrible person, but you win. I'll go with you for tomorrow, and only tomorrow."
"Jaune!"
"Ruby, if Yang spreads those, it'll be the death of your social image. I can't have something like that happen to you. Remember, I love you and not Yang. Once this, this farce is over with, I'll spend the rest of the week with you. Promise."
"But Jaune..."
"Great, now that that's settled..." Yang, no feelings from having betrayed her younger sister at all, grabbed Jaune by the arm and did her best to get close. "Me and Vomit Boy here have some planning to do. Tomorrow they have a boxing demonstration going on, and I was planning to attend."
As Yang dragged Jaune away to plan her use and abuse of him tomorrow, Ruby could only halfheartedly return to browsing the internet. Heart downcast, she threw her headphones back on and threw a random playlist on one of her usual sites, Pandora. Her previous mood completely shattered, Ruby just slowly went around the internet, her emotions a maelstrom in her heart. Jaune spending a day of the most romantic week in Beacon with her sister? Her older sister who's always charmed any boy she wants. It's not right. Not right at all. Almost as if resonating with her steadily growing darker thoughts, the music began to get a little crazy, adding to Ruby's darkening mood.
'Joyful it seems, but then suddenly by one false move it's blown away.'
Yang always does what she wants! She doesn't even consider how I'll feel! Damn her. Damn her, damn her. God damn her! Jaune is my boyfriend, not yours. Not yours, not yours, NOT YOURS!
At this point, Ruby was gripping her mouse hard enough to cause the plastic it was made of to be creaking and making small noises. The longer she let it go, the more could be heard from the small tool, until a loud snap resounded through the room. Looking down at her hand, Ruby noticed a steady stream of red leaking onto her sheets. It seemed that she had crushed her mouse in hand, a few of the sharper pieces cutting into her palm as she'd done so. She felt no pain from it however, because as we all know rage is one hell of an anesthetic. Pissed, Ruby threw the now useless mouse at the wall, splintering it further and leaving a mess of small red spots and shards of black plastic.
'I'm left alone, I'm left alone...'
"I won't be left alone again. He's mine Yang. I'll kill you."
With Yang, Jaune was having quite possibly the worst time of his life. Not only did Yang basically force him to spend tomorrow away from Ruby at what amounts to gunpoint, but now she was also basically deciding his fate as well. All that was on her mind was a beauty contest, strength contests, combat events. Nothing he would care for. At least, not without Ruby there. As Yang droned on about what she'd had planned, Jaune all forgotten in her eyes except as a ticket, Jaune simply felt like the worst boyfriend ever.
In team NNWB's dorm, everyone was quietly spending an evening to themselves. Nora was literally nowhere to be seen that day, apparently planning for some event on the last day. The moment she came back, she crashed into her bed, mentioning nothing about what she had done to a single soul. Pyrrha had spent the day with Cardin, and Weiss had simply stayed in the library and read. Blake had been with Ren, having an enjoyable time. It was more fun to be participating than setting up the events.
As her senses were better than most, Blake could hear small footsteps approaching their team's door before anyone else could notice. Before she could react, three very small knocks sounded on the door, prompting her to get up and see who it was. Opening the door, she was surprised, for multiple reasons. Standing at her door was RAYR's leader, Ruby. Dressed in a black tee shirt and some red sweatpants, and sporting a look like she was ready to commit a bloody murder. Subconsciously, Blake flinched. The phrase 'if looks could kill' suddenly came to mind.
"Good evening, Blake."
"G-good evening Ruby. What can I do for you?"
"You're part of the committee coordinating the events of the festival, right?"
"Yes," answered Blake with a little hesitation, unsure of where this was going.
"Tomorrow, there's a little combat game of sorts scheduled. Beat three fighters and you get a little prize, right?"
"Yeah..."
"Put me in as fighter three for tomorrow."
"?!" Blake could not believe what she'd just heard. Didn't Ruby have plans to go out with Jaune for the festival? What could change them so suddenly? "What about being with Jaune tomorrow?"
"..." A slight bit of hesitation crossed her face for a brief moment, and Blake wondered what was exactly was up with Ruby. "Blake, the thing is..." And Ruby spilled everything. About how she and Jaune had collided earlier, how Yang had apparently witnessed it and taken the pictures, and how Yang was using them to blackmail Ruby and Jaune into letting her use Jaune to attend the festival. As Blake listened, she could hear Ruby pause at parts, holding back sobs here and there. To Blake, this was just wrong.
"That fiend. Okay Ruby, I'll help you."
In that instant, it seemed a small glint of insanity had entered Ruby's eye. Blake, perhaps letting herself feel a slight bit of pleasure from what she was doing to Yang, also allowed herself to feel a little mad. The two girls, one filled with a burning rage, and the other with a heart full of sympathy and sadism. And so deep into the night, the two planned how they were going to get back at Yang the next day.
Speaking of the next day, Yang as always woke up late. Jaune, who'd been up since five, was depressed as he'd not been able to find Ruby at all that morning. He even set his clock to wake him up earlier too. Still, when Yang had gotten up, she immediately got dressed and dragged Jaune off for what she claimed would be a day full of fun. But Jaune knew it's likely only be fun for her. Resigning himself to his fate, he allowed Yang to lead him by the arm through the hallway. That is until Blake, the girl from NNWB, obstructed their path.
"Why, good morning. I need to speak with Jaune for a moment."
"Oh no, Belladonna. You already have one. This guy is mine!"
"He's Ruby's, actually. And it wasn't a request."
The two girls stared each other down as Jaune simply watched from the side. Blake's subtle smile, showing a hint of enjoyment. On the other side, Yang was looking rather angry. In the end, perhaps wanting to not waste too much time, Yang relented.
"But only for a minute, got it Belladonna?"
Answering with just a fiendish grin, Blake grabbed Jaune and walked him aside.
"Listen, and listen well Jaune. No matter what, you must make Yang enter the Tri-Dust challenge. Okay?" Noting his confused look, Blake could only offer him so much information. "Just do it, okay? You got it?"
"Tri-Dust Challenge, right? Got it."
With that, Blake left Jaune behind, confused at what was going on. But, who was he to argue? Blake was mysterious, but trustworthy. Plus, it's not like he could ever really figure out what she was thinking, so why bother trying? After talking with Yang some, he found that she had planned on trying the challenge out later. But with some time to spare, he simply had to endure the day until whatever Blake was planning happened.
After being dragged all over Campus like a rag doll, the time finally arrived where Yang would try and enter the challenge. Finally, Jaune would see where today was leading. Upon getting to the old building's arena, Jaune saw a large banner hanging up, advertising the little event.
'Come one, come all! Try the Tri-Dust challenge, a gauntlet of three fights that tests your strength, skill, and stamina. Win three in a row, and claim a wonderful prize!'
Walking up to the building, Jaune could overhear a few guys talking about the challenge.
"-st fight was impossible."
"I know man. She was a monster!"
"Ended it in the blink of an eye."
"So fast..."
Jaune gulped, worried about what kind of monster was in the event. Whoever was the last fight, it seemed that nobody had managed to surpass it yet. Despite her rather forceful tactics and deplorable methods, Jaune still felt a bit of fear for Yang and who her opponent would be. Getting in and registering was rather quick, and Yang's first two matches passed rather quickly. Neither of the fighters put up much of an actual fight, as Yang had KO'ed both rather quickly, giving neither any room to fight back. It seemed that she wanted to spend as little energy as possible before the final battle.
"Hehehe. This is too easy. Come on, bring out your best fighter. I'm ready!"
"Hey sis."
"Ruby? What are you...?"
Fully extending Crescent Rose, Ruby held the scythe with the barrel facing behind her. Her finger nearing the trigger, Yang began to noticeably sweat. When Ruby had fully placed her finger on the trigger, she took a deep breath and pulled.

Hey fellas. Yeah. I know. Slow releases. Blame the passing of time, as well as a failing imagination.
Anyhow, I'll keep this AN short. Yo know the usual. Comments and concerns, let me know. Criticism, love, suggestions, all are welcome. As for hate, stick it in a pile of burn Dust crystals and light the fuse. Good night, sleep tight, and try to avoid a Beowolf fight.
