James and Remus had managed to find their way into the manor whilst Sirius distracted Bellatrix.
"Moony." James whispered, nodding towards an open window of the manor.
Remus nodded in understanding as he temporarily removed the invisibilty cloak, he continued to whisper "I'll jump in, you pass me the cloak back then I'll help you up, okay?"
James nodded as he threaded his fingers together to give Remus a boost "Right."
Remus crawled through the window, turning around to receive the cloak, he placed it around himself then pulled James up into the room. It was at that moment Rabastan Lestrange entered the room.
James wasn't fast enough getting under the cloak and he turned to face the dark wizard eye to eye, within a matter of seconds they were duelling.
"Go!" James yelled at the Death Eater.
Rabastan was confused though he didn't fault in duelling "I'm not going anywhere!"
Remus on the other hand got the message, slipping out the door in search of the girls.

Mairead winced as she stroked Dora's hair. She had soon learnt not to hold her tightly due to the extensive cuts, bruises and scrapes all over her tiny little body. The most worrying of which Mairead had only recently discovered as the young girl had laid on her chest. A large stain of blood was covering Doras back and her outfit had been nearly shredded apart. Dora quickly yelled out as soon as her back was touched but after the elder witch managed to calm her down again she finally managed to reveal the damage.
Amongst a handful of cuts, scratches and bruises on her tiny back at the base of her spine was engraved deeper than any of the other marks was simply "Bellatrix". Mairead just prayed that Bellatrix had at least allowed the girl to fall into the unconsciousness the pain would have brought her, although knowing Bellatrix Lestrange she would never let her prey sleep through what she deemed their punishment.
Nymphadora was currently staring blankly at the wall ahead, wishing she had something to distract her from the pain whilst Mairead was trying to ignore her own injuries from earlier in the day.
The two had been lain in silence for hours when with no warning a large bang could be heard from upstairs. Mairead quickly sat up, leaving Nymphadora to scream in pain at the sudden movement.
Mairead put her arm around the girl protectively as the door to the dungeon slowly opened "Leave her alone! You've done enough you sick bitch."
Nymphadora was soon whimpering, tears streaming from her eyes once again.
"Coward, pick on someone your own size!" the woman glared defiantly.
It was at that moment that as if out of nowhere a tattered looking man appeared; Remus Lupin.
"It's fine, we're here to save you. Sirius and James are upstairs." Remus crouched down to the pair, looking in horror at the small girls injuries.
"For the love of Merlin Remus you scared the crap out of me! Take Tonks." She nodded down to Nymphadora "It's okay, hun. You need to be really quiet now okay?"
Dora nodded as she bit down hard on her lip when she was lifted into Remus' arms, all of her injuries screaming out in pain.
Remus looked down at her "Hello, it's okay, I'm Remus and we're going to help you. I've got some chocolate in my pocket, you can have it once we get back to your house, okay? Your parents are waiting for you."
Dora sniffed, nodding as she gripped onto Remus' robes "Okay."
"Good. You're very brave." Remus looked to Mairead "Are you going to be okay to walk?"
She answered with a nod "I'll have to be, you just focus on her."
Remus nodded as he reached into his pocket and found out a wand that the boys had stolen off of a Death Eater a little while ago, he had brought it with him to give to Mairead "Here, I know it's not yours but it will have to do."
Mairead smiled "Perfect, now lets go!"
Remus nodded, letting the woman run ahead of him as he carried the young girl up the stairs and out of the dungeon.
Rodolphus Lestrange was waiting for them though "Do you really think you can get away that easily?"
Mairead glared, pointing her wand directly at the man "Go to hell."
The man smirked "Oh, beautiful, I thought we had so much fun together."
Remus adjusted Dora, trying to get ready for a fight whilst still protecting the young girl.
Mairead glared at Rodolphus, stepping closer to him "Remus, get Dora out."
Remus shook his head, "Not without you."
Rodolphus laughed as he sent a curse at Mairead, Remus quickly put down Dora as he went to join in the duel.
"Remus! Look after Tonks!" The trio were furiously duelling as suddenly Rodolphus began firing spells in Nymphadoras direction, and Mairead pushed Remus out of the way, fighting with everything she had "Get her out of here! I'm fine!"
Remus hesitated for a split second before her picked the girl back up; she was trying so hard to be brave, only the slightest tears escaping.

Mairead fought as hard as she could, firing spell after spell at the man as quickly and viciously as she could, but there was no denying that using another persons wand had its effects and she was still sore from earlier which all effected her reflexes.
"Mairead!" Sirius Black came running behind the witch, throwing a curse at the Death Eater sending him flying into the opposite wall.
Mairead turned, grinning ear to ear as he ran and embraced her, she ignored the pain coursing through her body.
"Sirius . . ." Mairead sobbed.
"It's okay sweetheart, we're going home." He kissed her hard on the lips.
Sirius Black looked back on this moment until the day he died. He never forgave himself for his young naivety, he should have known better, he should have checked, he should have just left with her there and then. But he didn't, he just stood there. He stood there and kissed her as after a few seconds of a very spirited response the witches body jutted forward and slumped into the Wizard. He stared at her in shock.
"Mairead . . . ?" Sirius Black looked up to reveal what he had feared the most, Rodolphus Lestrange was not unconscious when he was thrown into the wall. He was merely disoriented for a few moments before he aimed his wand at the Witch and uttered the deadliest of the unforgivable curses. After everything, Mairead was dead.

Remus was running as fast as he physically could through the manor whilst trying to find a way out. Dora was currently clung to him as tightly as she could, the immense pain she was in from her injuries was apparent due to her constant struggle to remain conscious.
The wizard finally came to a stop as he reached the front door to the manor, its doors already swung wide open. Remus was confused, where on earth was Sirius? . . . . Where was Bellatrix? He turned side to side as he searched, slowly moving closer to the large open doors.
"R-Remus?" Dora whimpered.
The man kissed the top of her head, holding her close to comfort her "Shh . . . it's okay . . ."
"I would highly recommend not lying to children." Bellatrixs' cold voice rang out as Remus turned on the spot to point his wand to the evil woman.
"She is just a child, Lestrange." Remus was defiant, staring the woman out.
"I know, which is why she's going home for bed time." Bellatrix smirked.
Remus was confused, he held the girl closer, never faltering.
"Take her home, scum. Though, tell her bitch of a mother good luck getting rid of the special markings on her lower back." The woman giggled as she twirled her wand around her fingers, seeming to be barely caring "But don't worry, Auntie Bella will be back. You see, Dromeda has some lessons to learn, some of her own medicine to taste."
Remus wasn't sure what to do or say, he would never attempt to understand the sick and twisted mind of Bellatrix Lestrange. Was this a test? A game? He didn't care as after a few more moments he ran for the garden gates, holding Dora tightly as she yelled out in pain at the vibration of his movements on her cuts.
"Expecto Patronum!" He yelled as he reached the boundaries, turning on the spot.
