He left to escape the betrayal and pain and rage and all those things he really shouldn't have been feeling since, hello, angel, here? But he did feel them and it didn't look like anyone else did, and no one was talking about Samm—Satan, Lucifer, the traitor and tempter, and he had been their brother, was still their brother, and no one was doing anything about it.
So he left, because anything had to be better than the silence of Heaven.
