I'm a little disappointed with the reviews. I'd like four before I post the next chapter JOh and don't hesitate to give me your ideas for some sub plot. I really do appreciate ideas.

Thnx

CHAPTER EIGHT

Clary walked slowly, her heels clicking on the cobblestone street. The sun had set only a few minutes ago and she was about ready to turn back and face her father's wrath. His voice still echoed in her head. She came up to the alley, took a deep breath and walked in. There was no turning back. Or maybe there was. Jace hadn't arrived yet. Jonathan and the group were coming in fifteen minutes. She had some time to kick.

JACE shut the house door quietly, flinching when the lock clicked into place. Simon had the ears of a well, vampire. He'd wanted to come with him. Yeah, Simon knew Clary was alive. Isabelle had told him. Shaking his head, Jace walked down the front steps and slipped up to the roof by snaking his way up the gutter. From there, he jumped from house to house. He was already five minutes late. It was dangerous enough meeting her alone and he figured she didn't have much time to spare as it was.

He glanced down into the alley. Clary was there with her back to him. He felt an eerie dejávu moment. Gripping the edge of the roof he swung his legs over, landing in a crouch behind her. She tensed and turned around to face him.

"Hey," She said softly. Light from the torches on the street flicked across her face for a brief second. It was enough time for Jace to notice the blood dripping down the side of her face and the dark patch right under her eye.

"Clary what happened to your-" Clary's eyes lit up in shock. Almost immediately she pulled her hair down to cover the scars. She looked away.

"My brother." She muttered. Jace's brow furrowed.

"Sebastian?" Clary nodded.

"V-Valentine makes him train me. He just takes that as a way to abuse me. But don't worry about it right now." She pressed a finger to his lips. "I-I just had to see you." She removed her finger and pressed her lips firmly to his. She pushed him up against the cold wall, and allowed her hands to brush his hair. He welcomed it warmly. Their tongues entered each other's mouths. Jace was so engrossed in Clary that he hadn't realized what Clary was doing until a tear, her tear, hit his cheek and a click sounded as she cuffed his hands behind his back. "Clary what are you doing?" His voice was deep and raggedy from their make out session.

"I am so sorry Jace. I didn't have a choice." There was the sound of approaching footsteps and Clary was ripped off of him. Her back hit the opposite wall hard and she groaned. Jace's upper arm was immediately grabbed.

"All the snogging was making me want to throw up." Jonathan snapped. Jace began to struggle but his grip was like steel.

"What is with all the hitting today?" Clary snapped. "You break my arm at training, you cut my face open as I'm walking out of the bathroom, and you chuck me into a wall. Is it Lets Hit Clary Day?" Jonathan snorted.

"Clar, every day's Lets Hit Clary Day." Two men jumped from the houses on the left and right of them and two more closed in from the entrance.

"Clary?" Jace questioned, confused. Clary's face went blank as she looked at him. Do not cry. Do not cry. Jonathan pushed Jace forward.

"How does it feel," Jonathan seethed into Jace's ear. "To be brought down by the one you trusted the most?" Clary forced herself to look away. He was trying to get under her and Jace's skin. She didn't see or hear Jace's reaction for at that moment she'd glanced up at the sky and spotted a pair of brown eyes staring down at her. She gulped. Simon. His eyes just peeked out over the edge of the roof. She could see the shock plastered on his face. "Simon, I'm sorry." She mentally said, knowing full well that he couldn't hear her. She just prayed he wouldn't jump down and try to be the hero. Realizing she was staring she focused her attention back on her brother. Jake, one of the other men, was busy clipping chains on Jace's ankles. Jace's face was blank. This made it hard for Clary to guess what he was thinking. Was he angry with her? Of course he is you idiot. She scolded herself. You'd be mad at Jace if he'd done this to you without your knowledge of why. She shook her head. No. I wouldn't. I'd try to help him. She felt one of the men nudge her; Jake, his name was. He nodded forward, where already by the bend in the road, Jonathan was walking with Jace and the other men. She realized Jake had been actually waiting for her.

"Thanks." She said softly. Jake nodded.

"I am sorry that you had to do this." He said suddenly. Clary barely glanced at him. "If I'd had to bring my wife in like this… I don't know what I'd do with myself." So he knew Jace was her boyfriend. Up ahead, Jonathan disappeared around the corner. Clary swallowed.

"It's over now." Is all she said.

SIMON couldn't believe what he'd seen. Clary had actually…. No… She wouldn't. He had seen the guilt in her eyes. If she'd been against them all, she would've told Sebastian that he'd been there. She hadn't. As he stood there before his friends in the basement of the old house, he couldn't help but have second thoughts. They had to know Jace was taken, but did they need to know that it had been Clary who'd done it? Did Jocelyn need to know that Clary was alive? It was time to stop keeping Secrets. "Jace has been captured." Simon said, looking at the floor for a moment to take a breath. "And Clary is the one that captured him." Simon had never seen Jocelyn look so angry.

"She's dead, Simon." Her voice surprisingly calm. "Don't tell me that my daughter arrested her boyfriend, when she's dead." Isabelle was shaking her head.

"I-I've seen her. She's not dead Jocelyn. She's…someone else."

"Oh, you've seen her? And no one told me this because?" No one answered. She'd only heard one thing. That her daughter was alive.

"Did we see a body?" Luke cut in. "No. So we never truly new if she was dead. If she's alive, and she was the one who grabbed Jace, then Valentine must have done something to her."

"Did he fight back?" Alec asked suddenly. "Did Jace fight to get free?" Simon shook his head.

"I believe he was in shock." Jocelyn had fallen back against the wall and was staring straight ahead. It worried Simon.

"We need to get Jace back." Alec said. "He was in charge of the rebellion. He knew everything inside and out. Without him, I hate to say it, but we don't have a chance." Luke nodded.

"We'll get him back. Him and Clary."
