Inner Thoughts

Now that Shizuru had been momentarily tamed, Monday came and with it a set of new assignments from class. Now coming from class I had the room to myself seeing as Alyssa spent more time with her sorority sisters than anything. It sort of was a relief, to be alone sitting in my desk I found it to be relaxing the smell of books made me feel at ease.

Suddenly I thought to Shizuru, something about her aura made me feel at ease it was nothing compared to books. Nevertheless, I knew Shizuru was dangerous and there was nothing that radiated "ease." Whatever was happening to me at first was different, now my dreamscapes were less and less, but still I worried.

It wasn't until my cell phone rang, looking at the unknown number I couldn't tell who it was answering the line was silent.

"I need you to come to the main chamber, at Alpha-Beta, Nao will be outside the house waiting for you."

"Who is this?"

"You know who this is."

I knew it was Haruka, trying to seal off my mind I just hoped that Shizuru wouldn't pick up on me meeting her. I knew doing things my own way would work, and I didn't need a blonde sexy vampire screwing up anything with her blood-sucker politics.

Getting up I didn't bother to take my back pack, with my classes finally finished for the day I had a feeling this was going to take some time. I just hoped if Shizuru popped in she would hold her word, I swear it was like training a fucking puppy, accept this one drained my blood whenever convenient. I headed out of the door to the alpha-beta house brushing my bangs out of my eyes the wind seemed to pick up as night fall was coming. Noticing how bundled everyone was I still was in a light jacket, ever since Shizuru bit me she my temperature had been different. Somehow I wondered was it the side-effects from her biting me, whatever it was I damn sure wasn't going to ask that arrogant blonde-wench.

Making my way to the house, Nao was waiting there just like the night we met for the meeting. Throwing her cigarette on the ground she stepped on it before nodding her head for me to follow. Closing the door I watched as the other girls were around this was our first meeting since becoming members. Looking at the familiar face of Miya, Aoi, Bridgette and the others I smiled I was happy to see them safe. I felt cold breath next to my ear it was Nao, I knew she wanted to say something.

"Haruka asked that I bring you here for the run down, before going to see her," said the Red-haired woman.

Nodding silently, I took my seat next to Miya and Aoi, watching Nao and Mai, along with others from the other night they all stood in front of us. With Nao in front her hands behind her back she was wear hip hugging light blue ripped jeans and a black tank tee taking the aviator-sun glasses off she glared at us.

"Now, that you sad sacks have made the cut I want to welcome you sisters to Alpha-Beta. Now a few ground rules, what happened that night stays in this house there will no telling about anything you saw. If you do I will come in your home, I will rip your fucking throat off and drain what comes out of it."

Slipping in front of Nao a comically look came on Mai's face, I guess she knew how high strong her girlfriend could be.

"I guess what Nao is trying to say that there are consequences to telling, but since we haven't heard anything out of you ladies it's safe to say you can keep a secret. However, you know that once you tell all of your benefits will go away, right now you are all being sent care packages right now to your dorm."

Watching everyone light up I blew my bangs out of my eyes, I could care less about their benefits although Shizuru's influence helped me I would never admit that to her. I could hear everyone talking, the squeals were enough to make me gag it's like they all reverted to giggling teenagers once they heard about the gifts.

"Ok chill ladies," said Nao.

As they quieted down Nao looked over to Mai warmly who stood back, they were definitely a couple. I thought instantly to Shizuru, did she have any lovers, was my…father one of her lovers? Was bonding with a human worth it did anything last when they bonded what if one died or got sick? A novels worth of questions ran in my head.

"Now to move on to rules, now that your bonded your safety is important to us. We are to protect you at all costs, you are our sisters so there will be a curfew you are to be in by eleven. If you're out late call one of us and we will escort you but make sure to get your ass in before eleven."

"Nao remember what I told you be tactful," whispered Mai. With Nao turning her head, from her body language I could see she was sulking.

"Why can't I bully them a bit?"

"Nao remember you were once a freshmen too, remember how you felt?"

"Fine…" Turning around to us she glared, we straightened up, we wanted to laugh Nao was pussy-whipped and badly.

"Ok, back to the rules in by eleven, no freshmen are to go upstairs, you'll be allowed to live in the dorm after your freshmen year. As well as no one is allowed down stairs unless your sister queen takes you or you can call me but it better be a good fucking excuse. Also when we call you, you come its simple as that. Now as for drugs and drinking you can drink but if your sister queen schedules a feeding from you don't drink the night before. As for drugs stay fucking clean ladies, the blood tastes like shit when you do drugs. I know you got questions about the other night, just to let you know we are not forcing you to do anything you don't want so freaky lesbian action is not required nor is a relationship. Now speaking of relationships you are allowed to have a relationship nothing about your normal life has to stop. You can still get married and have kids, we keep records so after you graduate, and we will transfer you to another feeder. To top off on the relationship conversation I want to let you ladies know don't bring us any nasty shit home from your boyfriends. Protect yourselves at all times and by protection I mean use a fucking condom, we will be able to taste whatever you catch in your blood if that happens expect to be kicked out. Lastly, we do have a maid, but she's not your fucking mother so clean up after yourselves else don't expect to ever eat here again and as far as I'm concerned she makes a tasty beef stew. Just follow those rules then you won't hear from me any questions?"

All of us were in mutual silence, watching Nao nod her head three women behind her went to gather three huge buckets of ice. All of them had beer in them and with night coming I knew something was going to go down.

"Now, on to the next matter at hand there will be ball with our brother fraternity as well as others will be coming as well in the next two weeks. It is for an event we donate to it is called all types of hope it's an aids fundraiser. We mainly host it, but the other fraternities and sororities donate to it as well and we all get together to celebrate the cause. Do not worry we have your dresses covered just fucking pick them there should be a catalog in your care package you your dead line for your picks will be due on the 27th. Now as for tonight's event you're coming to a party bitches have fun mingle or whatever it is you sad sacks do. Now your first order is to drink this beer and set up for the party Mai will tell you what you need to do."

Watching Nao take a beer she popped the top open, as Mai took over with all of us taking a beer from the others we drunk. The bitter taste relaxed me, looking at the label it was expensive it seems like everything with the click was expensive.

As everyone got ready, I wondered to what my job was, looking at Nao she glared before walking my way.

"Aye, follow me…"

"What about the others?"

"They have their task you have yours besides Haruka wants to see you anyway."

With the bottom stairs opening, we treaded the same path that I once took two weeks ago. This time there was no fear only anticipation as I searched to find the answers I was looking for. However, I only hope Shizuru obeyed and that I wouldn't meet another pissed off vampire. Going in she was dressed in a yellow silk Chinese robe the imprints on the robe were made of fine material. Looking at the bed I could tell more than one person had slept, if anything from the bed upon further examination it looks like no one got no sleep.

It lead me to think about the lives of knighted vampires, did they have lovers? Did they feel lonely? From Nao and Mai's example it was easy to tell that they did but I couldn't get a better example from just Mai and Nao. Nao had lived a life that was human before coming into the fold, her feelings for humans came along with her loyalty. However, with Haruka was it different were Knights truly meant to be alone. The lonely look in Shizuru's eyes flashed like Zeus's lightning bolt across my memory. Shaking my head I looked to Haruka who had a drink in hand gliding up to me she was the perfect vision of aristocratic society she was old money. Holding out a cup to me I took it sipping on the contents, coughing on it I noticed it was scotch as I glared at the cup.

"Hahaha, I take it you're not a scotch drinker Kuga-san?"

"No…"

"Leave us…"

Watching Nao leave I could have saw a flash of worry in her eyes when she looked at me. It was hard to say if it was a look of pity or lack of being around to insult me.

"Don't worry she will be outside, besides I need her to attend to something's, now come sit," said the blonde-haired woman that now sat at her desk. Sitting down across from her desk, this seemed like an interview for a job, only difference was I would be asking the questions.

"So that's a good thing with the fundraiser and all."

"I may be a killer freak according to myth and society, but because I have a power for taking life doesn't mean I shouldn't save life as well? Now I understand you want to talk about your father and what happened to him. I at least I owe you that much of an explanation, especially for calling off that guard dog of a cousin of mine."

"Why do you have a problem with Shizuru?"

"Well we are family but should that mean we have to get along?"

"Yeah you have a point there." Taking down the last of my drink of coughed as Haruka laughed some more, I blushed in embarrassment.

"Seems like we have reached a common understanding, now as for your father and what you have been feeling it wasn't natural, his death I mean. However, we think we have a suspect although we don't have solid evidence making it hard to find justification to wipe them out. Have you ever heard of the summoning of the upper keys of Solomon?"

"No…"

"It is an old and ancient power that took place in the days of King Solomon, he was the only human that had power to control demons and summon them. It seems like the Vatican have found that power and they want to put an end to us this is a suspicion of course. I think that they may try for a direct action sooner or later however, I will not let that happen it is a long shot, but I think that your father was killed by the Vatican's power for what I don't know."

"If my father was a Templar why would they kill him they were on the same team right?"

"That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out, I owe your father my life he was a great man. We wouldn't have the peace that we would have today if your father wasn't around he talked to us respected us and he loved us despite what the Vatican had said. For that I think he was killed, there's is a lot that I want to know I think this power is the reason why we are losing many Knights and princesses."

"So what does this have to do with me?"

"Always to the point just like your father, what we need is you we need you to be a spokesperson of sorts for us. The Vatican is coming over to my estate in the next three weeks for peace talks. With Shizuru and me at each other's necks it's hard to find common ground when it comes to our conversations with the Templars. I realize that this is a big risk, because if they are guilty for their crimes they will come after you."

"So what do I have to do?"

"We need you to be grandmaster Templar, please Natsuki speak to them keep peace we only wish to live in peace you are the last of your father's legacy. I know you are Shizuru's princess, but we know that you are greater than being a princess you have the power to bring balance. I know your birth-rite is more than being food for us. We need you to take your fathers place, in turn you will find out what really happened to your father."
