Haruka's P.O.V

To be second best at everything, that was what my life was isolated to second. Ever since I was a child back in Ivalace, I was told how to act think and project as a leader. I was trained for glory fighting for valor within the battlefields of our own country bleeding, sobbing, murdering for our home. All of this came under the false pretense that I was the best, an heir to a legacy and kingdom that would soon be mine. That was until I met her, they called her my cousin I called her my enemy and rival, but her real name to my country men and extended family alike fell under the one that would surpass me. The bitter truth hit me like the cold of our home mountains, it turned out that all along I was a shade, a fraction to the kingdom. Shizuru was first in line for the glory our demon linage. She was to be in the light while I dwelled in the dark feeding on scraps. The endivor was bitter, but later on in my life I would learn the sweetness of her suffering no matter my own pain.

Opening my eyes I gasped as I looked around to see the worried face of my mate, how she got in I didn't know. As she took my hand in hers I smiled. Although, pain came through me, but it soothed itself as Yukino hum went on. Glancing a blood IV pack was hooked to my arm it was Yukino's Blood I knew my body woud reject any other blood. Still the sight of Yukino made me feel amazing. It it felt like moments ago we were Princess and Knight. I found her to be a mousy annoying little human at first, but things changed. Suddenly I felt my urges come forward in my heart even more so much so I mated with Yukino under Asgai's approval.

Suddenly a purpose came in my life something that I've built that didn't require Shizuru's watchful eye. Everything felt right until Asagi was gone. Along with Yukino he was the one human whom I accepted and the only one that knew of my story. No one took his death more hard than I to feel hollow when no one understood who you were. If it wasn't for him Yukino would've never came to me isolating me into darkness. I missed him and the wisdom he commanded with. For once there was no one above me most important there was no Shizuru above was no prestige, seconds or thirds just Shizuru and me fighting an eight hundred year old battle. However bitterness struck like a thorn the day Natsuki came. This girl knew nothing of the greatness of her father this seemed like a sick joke, still I saw myself within her. She felt second place to the normal life her father couldn't give her.

Just then Yukino's hand squeezed on mine. She wanted to talk and that I needed to think. Thinking to this last battle I had with Shizuru, it was easy to see why she was first in line back home and why she was known to the others as GrandMaster Knight. Squeezing my lovers hand back I knew my choices would effect Yukino and the bond we shared. With tears watering in my eyes I had to break down. "Y-Yukino you came?"

"Why wouldn't I, when I got your distressed energy I came over as fast as I could." Glancing straight to the ceiling I couldn't stand to look at her seeing as I put her through so much. "Y-Yukino...I theres nothing I could say. I'm sorry to have made you see and feel all of this. Its just that my duty I failed, I thought it went far beyond what Shizuru did, but I was wrong. All of this it was mine, it was my job to protect everyone here to be there for my brothers in arms. I thought that was the reason, but I forgot the most important thing and it was you. I never asked you how you felt, hell I never even gave you a proper honeymoon. I was too busy chasing after Shizuru and this image I had painted when we were kids."

"It's not your fault you have honor Haruka, and if you did parish I would gladly go with you."

"No...You can't...humans don't understand the dangers of our world and I wish never to put you in that situation."

"No you can never do that, I love you Haruka I truly do. You forget that I'm not just human you and I are one." Just from those words I knew what I had to do.

As Shizuru rested she was back to her normal form as Haruka's study had been turned into a base of operations. With black long boots trailing in the door it was opened instantly as everyone looked in shock as Shizuru looked up relaxed. With Haruka coming in with unsheathed saber in hand she pointed to Shizuru. The room fell silently instantly as Shizuru got up from her desk her Knights great-sword in her hands she pointed the blade to Haruka. Everyone knew of this to be a challenge although their time within the human world left them to explore still the demon customs still held. Just then a sword dropped as everyone held their breath at the result. As Haruka kneeled down her head was down low as her weakened and injured body shook. Her wounds bled through her shirt.

"Ughhh...I come here not asking for anything other than you to save...us. I realized that you, me all of us we are one and life is important." Everyone looked on as Haruka spoke although they were of royal linage, still everyone could understand the amount of pride the two cousin's had. "I-I come here to ask for you to l-lead us, it was my foolishness that had gotten us into this mess. I wanted to rule so I could protect the woman I...I love. However, in the end my cousin you showed me the lengths you would go for these humans. So, for that I will trust you to lead us." As Shizuru put her sword away her bangs covered her eyes the room still silent and grim. "Ara that's good up it turns out that I'm completely lost when it comes to this." As if there were a moment everyone wanted to fall down at the response out of the two.

"YOU WHAT! How do you not know what's going on!"

"Ara so loud Haruka, well I was just following my nose." As Haruka got up she walked over to the table that had converted itself into a battle planning station. As she pushed everyone away she glowed for them to stand down, everyone knew Haruka's attitude when she was like this. The demon royalty was pushy and a perfectionist when it came to battle. Where Shizuru the more less knowledgable obtained her experience through pressure tense situations in battle. Where Shizuru had a lack of planning, Haruka was her strength and where Haruka had a lack of the unexpected Shizuru covered her fully.

"Move over! Really let me see what the hell are you guys doing!"

"Ara I figure we could go for a Blitzkrieg technique," supplied Shizuru.

"No you baka that wont work, we would heading to our deaths. How much intel do we have now when it comes to Natsuki's location." With Nao being the first to speak she seemed to be put on the spot. "Well I was able to get one of my friends on campus up top to run some scans and what we were able to get in to some recent purchases. There is a place that was newly purchased just weeks before they took Natsuki. It turns out that the person in question that bought the place is a rich investor from Italy the files were locked and I couldn't get any deeper."

"It's the Vatican alright, good job Yuuki. Mai what's our landscape look like out there?" stated Haruka.

"It's on the outskirts of Fuuka, almost my the base of the mountain leading into another county."

"Thats goo well it looks like we can try Guerilla w Warfare on them I need to make a call."
