"I'm tired.."
"And I'm in love."
Lucy sighed and nuzzled something warm. Something that smelled of lilacs. It was inviting, so she curled into it more and sighed happily. The warmth moved under her, wrapping around her and bringing Lucy closer. She drifted off to sleep again slowly before being lifted gently into a sitting position, sun pouring in through gaps between the curtains.
"Lucy? Time to wake up." A soft gentle voice cooed near her.
"Wha'..? No.." Lucy turned and buried her face into the warmth, keeping her eyes closed. "I don't wanna.."
"Lucy, for me?" The owner's lips kissed the top of her head. "If you don't eat. you'll lose weight."
She pried an eye open, looking up at the raven haired male. Eyeing him before sitting upright, pulling on the silky fabric that covered her, raising an eyebrow.
Gray chuckled and looked away, rubbing the back of his neck. "I dressed you, I didn't want you catching a cold."
"Well, thank you." She smiled warmly, leaning up and kissed his cheek softly. "I love you."
His face flushed and he nuzzled the girl slowly. "I love you too, Luce." Gray moved slightly, sliding his arms under the frail girl, picking her up and lifted her up, holding her to his chest. "So, what do you want to eat?"
"Mmm.. we got stuff for pancakes the other night, right?"
"Yes, yes we did. Do you want those?" She nodded, resting her head against his chest.
"I'm.. so tired, Gray."
"I know, Luce. You need to eat though. We can't sleep all day, especially after a party like that."
"I knnooowww." She groaned as Gray carried her to the couch, setting her down with a soft kiss on her forehead. "If you fall asleep, I'll eat your pancakes!"
Lucy made a small whine, sitting up while rubbing her eyes. "Fineeee!"
Gray chuckled, beginning to mix up the pancake batter. "I'm not kidding Luce, I'll eat all of your pancakes." She huffed, sitting up more and opened a gate key.
"Leo, I need to stay awake!"
The Zodiac raised an eyebrow at the girl. "That's trivial, you know that, right?"
"I want pancakes and Gray said he'd eat them all if I fell asleep!" Leo laughed, running his fingers through his hair.
"Well, that's your fault for staying up so much and drinking as much as you did."
"I'll help him eat it if you fall asleep!"
Lucy whined, pouting. "You guys are.. are.. buttheads!"
"Oh, Luce! You used big girl words!"
Leo left shortly after the pancakes were made and served. The blonde practically inhaled them, then crawled onto Gray's lap.
The male ruffled her hair, holding her close. "No sleeping, Lucy, you need to stay up."
She groaned, looking up at him. "Make me."
His face darkened to a red colour, lifting her chin up. "Remember, you asked." He captured her lips with his in a swift movement, causing her to squeal. She clung to him as he held her close, holding her in a tight embrace.
Gray released her slowly after she didn't move. Her eyes were wide and a soft whimper escaped her lips. "Luce?"
"Get.. off me.."
"Lucy." His voice lowered, holding her arms gently. "Stay calm. It's just a flashback. I'm Gray. I am your boyfriend who loves you. I am here, Jellal is dead. You saw him die."
"Get off!" She raised her hand, closing her eyes. "I don't love you!" Her hand went across his face, leaving a mark and educing a sound.
He let her go quickly, and she fled into the bedroom, slamming the door and clicking the lock. As he stood up to get to Lucy, there was a knock on the door. Making his way to the door, he cursed as he opened the door.
"Gray!" Mira stood behind Natsu, smiling weakly. "Is Luce here?"
"Uh, yeah. She's in the bedroom." Gray blinked. "How come?"
Natsu slipped past him quickly, disappearing down the hall to their room. Mirajane smiled softly at Gray. "I'm sorry, the Master got worried about her condition after last night's party. May I come in?"
Gray nodded slowly, moving to the side. "Go ahead and have a seat on the couch." She bowed lightly then slipped into his house, taking a seat as Gray closed the door.
"She had a lot to drink last night. And it took us a while to figure out that might bring up some things she doesn't want to think of." She moved over so Gray could sit next to her. "Has anything happened since this morning?"
"Well, I kissed her and she ended up hitting me."
Mirajane frowned and pushed her hair back, leaning close to him to examine his cheek. Heat radiated off her. "Mir, I think you're a little too-"
"Shush. She hit you hard and it looks like it might swell." She pressed her hand against his forehead. "And you're getting a fever."
He pushed her hand away. "Mira, look. I'm fine. I can take care of myself." His expression hardened. "I want," he started softly. "I need to help Lucy."
She sighed. "She has a disorder, Gray. She needs the help of everyone."
"It's because I didn't get there in time!" He stood up and slipped away from the bartender, knocking on the bedroom door. "Lucy, Natsu. Please."
After no response, he opened the door slowly to see Lucy curled up into Natsu. He noticed the slow rise and fall of her chest. "Gray," Mira placed her hand on the ice wizard's shoulder. "Lucy needs someone she can trust."
He stood in silence, watching Natsu hold the girl he loved protectively. Lucy stirred in her sleep. When Gray stepped forward, he watched Natsu tense around her and send a glare his way. Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Gray stepped into the room silently and grabbed a small bag that hung from the back of the door, packing his clothes. Taking only enough Jewel he needed, he turned around and stepped out into the kitchen, packing a satchel of some food with Mira following him.
"Gray, she needs you!"
"Apparently, I can't be trusted." He turned on his heel, facing a sudden frowned face Mira. "If Natsu's that guy, fine. But I can't be around her then." He faked a meek smile before continuing, "Mira, just keep her happy."
She brushed her hair back, sighing before pulling a slip and a pen out of her pocket, jotting an address down. "Tell them Mira sent you, they'll let you stay for free." Sending a sad smile his way, she tucked the pen in the pocket before returning back to the bedroom.
Gray quickly stuffed the note in his pocket, putting the backpack over his shoulder and holding the satchel, he looked around the living room he was making breakfast for Lucy just hours ago. Closing the door, he sighed and let his hand linger before turning away, walking down the road.
Lucy awake with a start, glancing around to let her mind settle. She noticed her bedroom, the curtains pulled back slightly, Natsu, the open bathroom door.
Natsu?
She covered her mouth to conceal a squeak as the pink haired male groaned in his slumber. The bedroom door opened slightly, and she let out a scream as Mira appeared. Natsu sat up quickly, holding an arm out in front of her, eyes wide.
"What's wrong?"
The blonde shoved away from him, getting out of the bed and backing up into the wall. "I was in bed! With you!" He chuckled and she flinched, reaching for the lamp next to her bed. "What's so funny?"
Natsu smiled softly. "You had an attack, Luce. I calmed you down."
She shook her head, "no! Where's Gray at?"
Mira frowned, shuffling her way to the corner of the bed. She stopped when Lucy raised the lamp. "Put it down, Lucy. Gray had to go.. somewhere."
Lucy set the lamp down slowly, keeping her fists clenched. "Where?"
"Somewhere.. he went on a mission." Mira lied convincingly, smiling at the blonde. "He needed money, and we told him you'd be okay with Natsu and I."
Relaxing, she sat down against the wall. "Okay. When will he be back?"
Mira frowned. "I'm not sure. You know how missions are."
"Yeah.." she sighed, crossing her arms over her chest. Trying to recall last night, her mind remained a blank.
Gray arrived at the town that was listed, looking at up the fancy sign. He ended up at Acalypha, a market town. Before him was a graveyard to the right, and a church to his left. As he walked forward, he saw a small headstone that resembled the one he saw at the Heartfilia Estate. Making a mental note of that, he kept walking down the main road until he arrived at the hotel.
It was large, and very beautiful, for a hotel that's located in a market town. He walked in, setting the pack on the ground and his empty food satchel. The receptionist looked up and smiled at him.
"Hello," she called softly as a greeting. "How may I help you?"
He handed the slip of paper to her, smiling back gently. "Mira told me this would be a place for me to stay for a short while."
"Mira!" The girl exclaimed, jumping up quickly and losing her glasses. She patted around on the desk before sliding them on and brushing her loose, brown bangs back. "Did she say anything else? Ah, I haven't seen her in forever!" She held her hand out over the small counter that had flyers all over, and Gray shook it. "Mena, Harper Mena."
"Gray Fullbuster." He smiled, again.
"Wait, if you're friends with Mira, are you a wizard, too?" Mena squeezed his hand in excitement, and he pulled it away before she took it off.
"Yeah, I'm an ice wizard."
She squealed and did a little fangirl bounce. "Are you from her guild? Tale of the.. uh.."
"Fairy Tail?" He offered, lifting up his shirt to show is mark. "Of course."
"I'm a wizard, too! Well, a less glamorized wizard." She smiled and tapped her pen against the table. "It really helps, though."
Gray smiled at the brunette. "Either way, Mira said you could help me out on a room for a few days.
"Oh goodness, yes!" She sat back down and typed away quickly. "Okay, I have you for the deluxe for.."
"A week?"
"7 days." Mena smiled up at him. "Free of charge."
"No, no, no, I can't do that to you!"
She leaned over the counter, whispering. "We've had someone cancel the deluxe, and our policy didn't allow a refund because they just did last night." Winking, she leaned back into her chair.
"What brings you into town? Maybe a mission?" She grinned slightly. "Or a girl?"
"Actually, the opposite. I'm getting away from a girl for a while." Gray laughed nervously, adjusting the backpack.
She smiled awkwardly, then locked her computer and grabbed the keys, leading him to the elevator, and then his room.
The guild was quiet without Natsu and Gray fighting at it, and the tension set the guild in an even quieter mood.
Mira noticed that Lucy avoided the Dragon Slayers, and made it to not speak when they tried to talk to her.
Lucy really missed Gray, her heart ached and she shook every time she had to go to bed alone. She was scared and alone.
What did she do to scare him away?
I deeply apologise for this shit chapter, but I went through an emotionally abusive boyfriend's break up (killed me inside) and then a stalker who threaten to spread rumours/nudes (of some random person from tumblr), and I'm now dating a dork.
With working and school coming up, I'll try to update more but I might need a kick to do it (an idea, a message).
Once again, I apologise for the bullshitted chapter, I was trying to make it finish up but I lost the idea entirely because of the fuckboy.
Until next time,
Usaa.
